Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.
After setting up our vans in the c/p we headed off with iluvtrekking to explore Port Pirie on a beautiful winters day. Thanks for the hide desertfox41
Found on a trip to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie with Team Waldron for a few days. It rained steadily for the morning but gradually eased by mid afternoon. The aim for the weekend was to find as many caches as possible in the area which we accomplished with damp clothes, soggy shoes and a muddy car! Thanks for the cache desertfox41!
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending 2 weeks in Port Pirie, today we headed further afield and enjoyed the drive amongst all the green crops. Looks like a good harvest up here. [^]

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So Port Germaine was my next target for the night.
Another morning spent driving in the rain as I have not had the best weather on this trip what ever happened to summer.
The rain has stopped and as I have rounded the the bay and heading back down south the weather is beautiful on this side of town.
After reaching my destination yesterday for the next couple of nights which is Port Germein I now had a full day to go exploring around port Pirie.
Headed down the Hwy and I think I have been here before as a kid on holidays.
There are a couple of additives that you need to add to coke and one of them is a mate of mine named Jack.
I noticed the large can near the side of the road as I was coming up and now I know what it is.
After a quick search I soon spotted the cache, added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks desertfox41 TFTC.

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Gawler dinner event.
Today, we got up early and spent the first half of the day travelling around Port Pirie. A few highlights were the views of the lead smelters, the historic main street, and wetlands. Once a bakery lunch was had, we headed east, and found a few geocaches in Gladstone, Caltowie, and Jamestown. We then left some time to visit Bundaleer Forest Reserve for the 05/2001 hidden cache, as that was my last remaining available South Australian Jasmer grid caches. We then drove the few hours south to the international geocaching dinner Gawler event, before heading home.
A quick park and grab after a short walk from the car. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks desertfox41 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
In an effort to get to find #5000 at Millicent, we have to speed up and slow down our caching rate.
We are camped in Port Pirie, waiting for new tyres on our geomobile this afternoon, so while we wait, what better to do than..... well, you know, go on a tour of town using my GPS as my tour guide.
With coka cols! Thanks for bringing us here desertfox41

Hi there desertfox41. This cache was found on a day out caching and touring about Port Pirie. The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to desertfox41 for this cache - our find # 6238.
After staying near Port Augusta last night, today we ventured further along the road with ilook4geo and just put a few caches on the list for the day.
There was no problem in finding this one and the cache container was soon put back into place once the signing duties had been done. Thank you to desertfox41 for this cache placement.

Out and about today and doing some caching along the way with goingplaces2. Found all the ones that we wanted to look for and each one was signed as next on the list. Thanks to all the COs who placed these caches.
We left Esperance 3 days ago for the Yorke Peninsular after 4 months spent mainly enjoying the warm weather up north. It’s been a bit of a let down since we reached Perth and the weather cooled right down. The sun is thinking about coming out today, and we’re cheering it on. Tomorrow we aim to start on our adventure trying to pick up as many caches as we can before heading back home to Victoria in the last week of September.
We set off early from our overnight stop just south of Port Germein and started finding caches as we travelled south to Maitland, our destination for a few days as we set out on the power trails.
This cache was a straightforward find after making our way thru the scrub.

We found this one on a quick trip in to Port Pirie to buy camping supplies for out at Mambray Creek! The cache container was super brittle and just shattered in my hands as I screwed the lid on! I’m sorry that I don’t have anything to replace the container with! I hope it can be sorted out soon! Tftc
Quite afternoon with nothing to do.... let’s get some geocaches! Nice easy one to start the afternoon!
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Passing through and decided to stop and make the find. Wandered to GZ but the GPS had me all over the place. Wandered round for a bit but soon spotted the cache. Extracted log signed and replaced. Only saw the giant can as I headed off.

Hi there desertfox41.
We found your cache **"THINGS GO BETTER"** at 1:58:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15981).
We cached around Gladstone, Port Pirie and Napperby today. On our trek we found a variety of container types. & ended up finding 32 caches with 0 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
###Thanks for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. Once upon a time caches seemed to be "regular" sized, and well stocked with goodies for kids to swap. Nowadays it seems like every other cache is small and devoid anything to induce children to enjoy the hunt. It made us feel really good to find this cache in a "special" place.###
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
