Logs
Was a cheeky skip down from the car park. Grabbing a few around this area and trail. When we got there the cache log was very wet. Great spot for a cache
Hate posting a DNF especially after such a long uphill walk and systematic search, reading hints, logs and searching the base of every tree with 25m of GZ. Another DM cache that beat me today. Ill be back to avenge!
Spend 4 hours walking in the Dandenongs with the wife grabbing a few caches in the area. This log is full of water and needs replacing.TFTC
Okay yeah, I would never have found that without reading previous logs. The hint should read log next to path, as that is where the log currently is. GPS coordinates showed me a spot further up the hill which was plausible, but needed to walk down that little extra
TFTC definitely worth reading old logs to find not the hint. My co ords we’re off by 15-20m. So glad I got a smiley in the end
Out and about with Shufflehop. I am slowly chipping away at the DM series of caches, but the Dandenongs are a fair way from home, so I expect that it will take a while complete. This cache was found after a bit of a steep hill climb and a short search.
Not sure about T2 rating. Actually i was questioning the D/T ratings all day. I guess it is what it is. Today I thought it was time for an ahomburg bash up in the Dandy mountains. Well, not a lot of bashing, but a lot of slipping and sliding.
Muddy muddy steep, and did I mention muddy. If l survive the day without slipping onto my arse it will be a miracle.
At this cache and well for many of the caches today...GPS don't bother it's useless... systemic search will work as well as reading past logs. Cache is looking kind of worn out log book is almost full and very wet but writable.

Made our way to this cache but had the terrible reality of our pen running out and no backups panicked for a bit but then had the bright idea of taking a quick pic for proof. Thanks for bringing us on this huge hike for the day, exhausting but rewarding with the scenery
My GPS was no help at all and I don’t think the hint is particularly accurate anymore, so I just went off intuition. After that it was a pretty quick and easy find.
The cache is pretty waterlogged however and the logbook is falling apart, probably needs a bit of attention.

I looked and looked but I guess I wasn't at the right tree base. I did try for ages as it was wet and raining on track coming down from the carpark. I am not sure if I will be back for a few years..
Back at it with Kimpossible09, this was our first find in Australia. We were very happy to find it. Thanks!
Thank you for the cache a Homburg, I took this slippery trail back down from One tree Hill. It seems I haven't been there for a while, I fully expected to climb the stairs of the lookout tower, that's picture, on one of the sign boards, was described an historic relic of the past. Regards from Victourer
Great quiet area for a cache and plenty of parking. Unfortunately we did not find it today. Terrain was a little difficult in slightly wetter weather. Spent about an hour or so looking. We did see two logs along the path on the way through. Will have to have another crack another day
Found about 20 meters down the path, also the hint is no longer accurate since there is no log across the path (anymore?), however it's near a big stone in the path! Tftc!
Found it with my parents Inge1997. Activated my account after finding the first couple so name is not written down. TFTC
I struggled with this one, gave up and as I was heading away, spotted one more tree to check, and there it was. For me, the hint was accurate but the gps location was off by at least 25 metres.
Thanks for the hint- found that the sheriff had previously visited- log was very wet but otherwise all good- thanks for taking us along this great meander
With a couple of hours before my next job, I headed into the hills on the MTB to find some caches.
A sketchy little track indeed, too rutted, steep, and slippery to ride.
Thankfully the coordinates were good, as the object in the hint is no longer in the expected position, but there is a likely candidate alongside the track.
TFTC ahomburg, and the exercise

I also had trouble locating the right tree. GPS is bouncing around here. What a fantastic track and area. Having a ball. TFTCA aHomburg
Found it! Super lucky, we met 2 echidna on the walk up. Hint was accurate, thanks for the cache
The logbook was a bit wet but still writable. We put the cache back as we found it. Thanks!
Made it to GZ, pretty sure I found the hole where it should've/could've been, wasn't there though.
Oops, lost my pen from last cache and I'm pretty sure it's not biodegradable. My GPS, like others, was out but others clues helped. Thanks ahomburg. Giddy up
Tricky find cache is about 11m down from where the map takes you, the log across the track is somewhat nearly gone. This should help any others who are having trouble.. Cache is definitely still there though
Not exactly where the marker tells you, about 11 metres further down the track, definitely still there though!
Fifth cache of the day on today’s Dandenong walk, part of our lockdown quest to walk every track on the hill. Had to scout a few likely locations but got there in the end.

Based on hint and difficulty felt like we were in the right spot, but no find for us today
Another attempt by Cygnus3333 and I whilst on a walk trying to beat the rain (that never quite eventuated...), this time we chose to climb up this track to the top of One Tree Hill rather than coming down this way. I had little trouble finding it in almost no time after the hinted object was spotted although it wasn't very prominent (last time the more obvious one must have led me astray and this one not noticed...) Glad to finally have this one crossed off the to-do list! TFTC
After seeing lots of recent DNFs I almost didn't bother with this one. But after a long, early morning walk collecting other caches in this beautiful area my most efficient route back to the car took me past here, so I thought I would go through the motions. I ended up completely surprising myself with a very quick and easy find!
Standing at GZ, my GPS put me 11 metres north-west from where it thought GZ should be. The spot I found the cache aligned with the hint (though one part of the hint seems not to be there any more). But giving GPS tends to move around due to the trees, this seems a reasonable margin. The main thing is that the cache is definitely still there! TFTC

Another rough little downward track after reaching the summit of One Tree Hill, unfortunately I couldn't find this cache although a likely hiding spot was seen and I checked other options just in case the GPS was off-target. :-\
Wrecked after hiking all night and doing too many kilometers this week. Had a cursory look. Also super hot day and I can sense the snakes so couldn't actually look properly. My mate lives around the corner so will be back soon
Oh well, I will have to start a load of laundry tomorrow but everyone made it down the hill unharmed. Cache was quickly found.
The path was quite slippery, but made it without too many incidents. Thank you for the cache!
After heading up from Tyson track waaaay too far, we found the cache coming back down. Great hide, good workout!
After finding a way a quicker alternative to the car than the other way we were thinking of, we found out that this cache was on the path that we took. After a bit of a search, we found the cache. Tftc ahomburg
Catching up on some logs. Found on my daily walk through the local area during the working from home period. This was the last one before taking a break. And my streak ended TFTC I'll be back in the coming weeks for the remainder....
Tricky find due to phone gps not 100%. Took us 20 mins but persistence paid off. TFTC!
Found as part of my 12km caching run through the park. This hill made me puff. The amount of debris across the tracks to stop the downhill mountain bikers made it more of a challenge. TFTC
On a misssion today, I had Sally drop me at One Tree Hill, after leaving my car at the bottom car park. Care needed as I headed down the track to avoid misplacing a foot and taking a tumble. All went well and I soon had the log signed. Tftc.
On our last visit to pick up some DM caches, Steve accidentally nearly ripped my arm out of its socket when he tried helping me up a steep embankment. 3 months later, and after a couple of Chiropractic appointments, my shoulder finally healed. Since then we have been looking forward to returning to this area, and I was positive my fitness level had improved. That thought went down the drain quickly as the day went on.
Steep walk down the track soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks ahomburg. Great series in a great location.

Thanks ahomburg. Great series in a great location.
On a mission before I leave Melbourne to find a clutch of caches in this little pocket of the forest. Have not been here for donkeys years. Not sure I covered ground in the most efficient way but had grabbed the MT bike and managed most of the hilly country. Nice to be back after a few decades. All caches found quickly enough. TFTC and series. I’ll be back!
Out for the day hiking and driving around the Dandenong Ranges with some great mates.
Hey, that's not true - we counted more than 1 tree on this hill !
Thanks, ahomburg.

This hill was an absolute beast carrying a toddler on the back up. The sun was coming down a little, my legs were sore form the steps.
Aysen thought it was hilarious. My calves didn't. They complained.
As I write this in my study, I can feel all kinds of muscles softly moaning... 'Lenore'.

GPS took me all over the place but lucky Jacko83 and Pacman made a quick find. Tftc
Visited the 1000 steps today. A good chance for some geocaches. Three hours walking and 13 caches.
All boxes except one were in good condition and nice to find. TFTC.

Found the cache hidden quite well, a little further down the track than expected coming from the top. TFTC!

Ok now our calves are warmed up. Trudging up from Tobruk just plain hurts, but at least there have been a few muggles, roogles and cockatoogles to say hello to. Tftc
I had already written a DNF field note while walking away, when something caught my attention in the corner of my eye - the cache! For us the description, hint and coordinates fitted better a bit up the hill. Nice park!
