Parked up in the truck for the night and noted the close cache, very nice hide. Obvious, but only if you think about it Grabbed a trackable to help it along its way. TFTC
Another great day here, guys are busy sawing up firewood.Easy find, love the hintMany thanks
This is still here. Requires parking further away and walking while the works are going on. Tftc!
We were going to stop here , but the exit was blocked off with road cones; we were about to pull over anyway, but also it seems the attributes are a bit inaccurate? Well, we didn't see any restrooms, so couldn't be bothered to stop. Thanks anyway. It must have been interesting due to all the favourite points, but perhaps GZ has changed
Our first international cache ! We stopped to swap drivers after leaving Wellington and surprised to find a cache. It was easier to find the cache that this page to log it ( as I searched for close on 2 hours!) tftc
Nice spot, away from muggles, but a tool is definitely needed, I found a stick that did the job though
Found this one easily! There was a trackable in there but Im new and wasnt sure what to do. The item is very dirty and wet because bag wasnt shut. Log is in good condition! Cool wee find on our way to Himatangi Beach
Tool needed, a screwdriver or pry bar will do nicely, thank you for a fun find
Have moved a TB that was in this cache but listed as being in another cache.
Heading north and made the stop. Everytime I have thought about this cache in the past there has always been someone at the stop. Today it was deserted and soon had cache in hand. Thanks for the cache.
This was a quick stop. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the container was awesome. Not so much the location and all the poopy papers in the immediate vicinity. It was a stinky location, that's for sure. LOL Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I had a long way to go as I continued my solo travel from Atlanta, U.S.A. around the north island. I knew that my next stop would involved a 2 night stay which I was really looking forward to - getting up and driving to a new spot every day is exhausting! It was a little cloudy and windy in the morning but eventually the sun came out to greet me. I had a lot of caches to find, so good weather was going to be helpful if I wanted to make it to Wellington by the time I had planned. It was a great day of caching in New Zealand. I knew my trip here was soon coming to an end, so I wanted to enjoy every minute. Many thanks to the COs who placed and maintain these caches for folks like me to find.
On our seventh day in New Zealand we travel to Wellington. This nice cache lay on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. Baxter (for Monte Holcroft)These unshaped islands, on the sawyers bench,Wait for the chisel of the mind,Green canyons to the south, immense and passive,Penetrated rarely, seeded onlyBy the deer-cullers shot, or else in the northTribes of the shark and the octopus,Mangroves, black hair on a boxers hand. The founding fathers with their guns and bibles,Botanist, whaler, added bones and namesTo the land, to us a bridleAs if the id were a horse: the swampy townsLike dreamers that struggle to wake,Longing for the poets truthAnd the lovers pride. Something new and oldExplores its own pain, hearingThe rains choir on curtains of grey mossOr fingers of the Tasman pressingOn breasts of hardening sand, as actorsFind their own solitude in mirrors,As one who has buried his dead,Able at last to give with an open hand.
We knew 100% we were in the right place as it stuck out to us more that a massive Geocaching symbol on a box, but unfortunately it's surrounded by what appears to be an emergency toilet of the masses.Hanitizer was definitely needed on the way back to the car!
#388.What can I say. This was a pleasant find. First of it's kind for me. Managed to wedge hinted item open to reveal the TB Hotel. Did not take any TB's.Cache and log in great condition.Favourite point added.TFTC.
Found the hint item but after reading the recent log about spiders, I refused to open it due to my fear of them.
This was packed full of spiders but what a groovy find! On my way home from Welly on a little geo adventure on the way back to Rotorua. Thanks for this one.
Grandson (JoggIn jnr) was in on this one. We nutted it out together, but it took a wee while to crack the case. The area is not very pleasant to work in - watch your footing. Most impressed with the swag. Thanks for the placement.
We also stopped here on our tour of the North Island. After enjoying the beautiful landscape, we also had time to find a few caches. Many thanks to all the owners for the caches and for showing us new and interesting places.
Mrs stik-a-crane will be happy with me here....I dropped a TB off for someone else to travel around......Day 4 of our caching trip to Palmerston North area with HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, Keylev, and myself, signing in as SEAC or TEAM SEAC to save logbook space. A big thanks to all the CO's for cache placement and maintenance, making this trip the success that it was. TFTC.
Day #4 of the Team SEAC extra long weekend little road trip for Labour Weekend.Ooh nice one! Its not often you get to find one like this...enjoyed this one. Thanks for the cache - deserves a fav point.
Small group of caching buddies drove down from Auckland for the long weekend, and headed for Palmerston North area. Sorry for the generic posts, but we had so many caches to find.Had a great time, with so many laughs. Thanks to all the Cache owners who placed the caches. This was day 3 of our trip. All logs signed "SEAC" or "Team Seac"
I had signed up for an event called 'The Mudder' in Marton, at the Rangitikei Farmstay, and thought that it was the perfect excuse to take a couple of days off work and go on a 5-day road trip to Whanganui and Palmerston North. All up I travelled 1,650km and found over 200 caches/ad lab stages mostly targeting high favs.Left my accommodation in Himatangi Beach quite early to make the most of the daylight hours. The wind had picked up and it was very cold and it was only going to get worse with a heavy wind warning for later in the day.Pulled into the rest stop and there was a car parked there already. Parked behind them and saw they were staring at their phone. Went for a walk to stretch my legs and realised that GZ meant I was hidden from the muggles view. Didn't take me too long to spot what I was after. Thankfully, I had my pocket knife on me to help open the cache.
Nice hiding spot. The title is very accurate with this one! Especially the loo part lol. TFTC
A very run down looking rest area with lots of rubbish and graffiti. Nice hide. Thanks for placing the cache
Nice hide shame the location is being used as an actual loo. Met a nice dog here too . Great old school cache that we enjoyed TFTC
After a small drive I soon located what I was looking for.
Cheers for the cache, paul303.
Cheers for the cache, paul303.
I travel around for work quite a bit and we had a job logged in at the rest stop unfortunately I didn’t have a pen but I did manage to find it what an amazing place
It’s school holidays, so we are on a mission today to grab the chewy mint trail caches plus others. 30 - 50 caches was our target (we got 33). Junior was pretty cooked by the end.
Number 2 for the day. Lots of muggles coming and going but we still managed to be discreet enough. Great hide! Favourite point from us.
Thanks!

Today TrinityNZ, Just_looking00, and I gathered in Foxton early in the morning to launch an assault on the Chewy Mint trail, the KAS trail, and assorted others that we happened across. Our aim for the day was 30 (absolute minimum), preferably 50. Our total for the day was 53, so more than satisfactory. We signed all logs as JMT. Most of the caches were easily found, some were a little rusty, some had wet logs. Where we could, we replaced any dodgy logs.
Heading back to Foxton, last of the day. Hunted around GZ, but found in an unexpected spot. Took a TOTT to open the lid. All good inside. Tftc!

I’m out and about on this fine Easter Sunday with JustLookingOO and matagouri. We are heading north of Foxton to work towards some challenges, including 100 finds in April and 50 finds today.
We have achieved our 50 today, so that’s been a successful day for us. We are calling in to pick up some extras on the way back to Foxton.
This took us a few minutes as we couldn’t quite believe it. But yes, there it is. Log signed as JMT.

Chasing numbers for some challenges with TrinityNZ and matagouri. Just had a big day in north Foxton area and heading home, decided to pop a few 'special' extras into the mix.
Great hint, is it or isn't it? A fave point from me. TFTC

Eww she’s a bit weey
Great hide though - back to car to retrieve my caching kit

Love this cache. Not just because it’s a great cache but also it is our 1900th find and keeps our streak going. Day 66. A nice dry cache and very inventive. Thanks for the placement.
P.S. a friend sent me the attached photo this morning that she found on page 6 of the NZ herald. A bit of a chuckle for gadget cachers.

This is obviously quite a popular lunchstop along the highway but the cache is nicely hidden out of view. Quite an assorted residents hiding away in here too. TFTC # 18,627
A big fat spider was guarding the cache! Sorry, spidey. You’ll have to rebuild your trap after we signed the log and rehid the container! TFTC and greetings from Singapore
WhaT a cool cache! Needs tool required though
I wrote in the log and concealed it carefully back as found,
TFTCSL Thanks paul303 for this Traditional cache!

First one of 20 caches located today (not including an Ad Lab) on a “caching expedition” between Foxton and Palmerston North, just the geohound and me. This one was a quick find. Had a screwdriver with me just in case, and I did use it. #5208. TFTC.
Didn't realize you needed something to open but luckily had a screwdriver in the boot.
I had a few friends helping me search today and I'm sure I couldn't have found it without their help.
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
We stopped to do this one but someone had used the area as a literal toilet. Toilet paper everywhere so we didn't want to walk round hunting the ground.
I needed to pull over to the side of the road to take a phone call. After the call was complete, naturally I pulled up the App to see if there were any geocaches near by... that's how I came to be looking for this one. A nice quick find here thanks to your hint. Nice effort on the cache. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this geocache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
Day two of my road trip from Nelson to Auckland. Today I'm driving from Paraparaumu to my hotel in Auckland Central. Time to find a few caches along the way. Weather was a bit dodgy to start with but gradually improved as I headed north. The rest area has seen better days but the cache was found safe and sound. TFTC, Biggles.
Up here from Kapiti with Flowerydaze on a caching expedition. A spot we were vary familiar with as we used to let the dog run here during our trips north, all safe and dry here. TFTC paul303
Many years ago Talla64 and I, plus our 2 sons, and our dog, used to stop here on our way to Taupo to give the dog chance to have a bit of exercise. I think the traffic has increased tremendously since those days. The cache was spotted quickly and my TOTT came in very handy. Nice hide paul303. Thanks very much for the cache.
Heading down to Foxton Beach for a couple of days and had spare time to cache. Just finished the KAS and mint series. Still had time for a couple more before the suns gone. Pulled over here and was soon enjoying the cache. Thanks for a good one.
On our way back home after a weekend attending a meeting in Levin. We have passed by here many times but never stopped. This time we did but we had to get a TOTT from the geocamper so we could open the container.
Thanks paul303.
Thanks paul303.
Good spot! The need to use this area for a loo seems to have subsided. Was all clear and tidy. Thank you for hiding the cache!
We've travelled up from Invercargill to take a break from reality and to use up some credit from another getaway we'd planned which fell through due to Covid 19. Great wee hide here, the thought that goes into some of these caches is really awesome!
Found a nearby stick to help open. Disgusting seeing used Loo paper here though.
Found on our way home from a caching weekend in Welly...a bit gross around here though. TFTC
Lots of sign of this area being used for its old purpose. Yuck. Found a tool in the car so we could access things without touching things.

We had a very nice holiday in New Zealand. Almost every day beautiful weather. We traveled with the camper home from the north to the south island. we have found a lot of very nice caches. Thanks for showing the nice places where we found the caches.

I've found a cache like this before, it's a pity about the mess around the area. TFTC paul303

As the previous finder says, this area appears to be a popular toilet spot so take care or you might come across the wrong type of log.
What a great hide, nicely placed with a lot of thought and effort.
A favourite point from us.

Love the idea. Unfortunately some people have been using this area as a toilet so mind your step and any kids that you've got with you. Tftc
Have seen this hide before, so a really quick one. The slug is still there, now with friends. TFTC
