A quick find on our way out of St Arnaud doing a circuit on backroads in the area. Liked this slightly different hide. TFTC
What a little ripper hide, a lovely ahah moment when i found it, i am adding one to its favorite tally. I had a terrific morning finding the whole Eucy Drive series with no DNFs. I walked some sections and drove others so the geopooch and i are both satisfied with our morning workout. i am now making my way further south collecting finds along the way. Often i cache midweek and it is a little unusual for me to cache for a whole weekend so I decided to head off this weekend for two days of caching fun. As it turned out i was able to get away latish on Friday afternoon so it will be more like two and a half days, yippee! I have been itching to get back over to St Arnaud and to do more of the fantastic series laid out around town and in the surrounding areas. Friday saw me pick up a couple of newish caches near Kooyoora, (Melville Caves), then get started on some cache series to the north east of town. After setting up camp and logging my finds i was early to bed and had a terrific sleep. This morning i set off early to finish the Eucy Drive series and now i am enjoying collecting caches and adlabs around town. Later i will probably head a little further south. Oh when the Saints #5 All weather sports is find number 3,865 for me. A fun micro sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Northern Grampians Shire. I am logging this one on Saturday 7 Sept 2024 at 2:36 pm and the weather is Clear Sky 17C 42% 6 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy strange quark1.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
An enjoyable day out in the area today. It was a spectacular winters day. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.We had a DNF 7 years ago but today we found it pretty much straight up.Very clever hide too.
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.We took advantage of an amazingly warm Winters Day to visit the area. Thanks for hiding this cache, it was fun to find.
Found with McAdies and Jelly_bean14.What a fantastic day to be out geocaching it was. Thanks for the hide.
Heading out to the Wax Gardens for a spot of caching fun, but spotted a couple of convenient ones along the way. Honed in on this one quickly, used the correct sort of TOTT to extract the log, signed the shiny brand new one, rewound to fit easily in its cache container, and settled everything back carefully and ready for the next considerate cacher. Favourite given. Thanks strange quark1 for your work here.
Cache checked, log removed (it really wasn't that difficult to remove with the right tool) and new log put in there. Ready to go

Spending a bit of extra time in and around St Arnaud with ilook4geo and started on the caching list for the day with overcast weather. Found a good selection and each found log was signed to note our visit (except for this one.) This cache was found in a good hiding spot, but could not get the log out without destroying the whole thing. So it was not signed. This one needs some attention from the CO please. Thanks for the placement.
Out for some more caching fun around St Arnaud today with goingplaces2 and happy to add this cache as a smiley on the map. Problem with the log here and couldn't sign it. TFTC.
Great hide. Could not sign log because the log was too hard to remove. Fav point given
Was working up in St Arnaud today and decided to grab a cache on the way back home. Nice quick and easy find, was a pretty clever spot. Tftc
Away with work at the moment. Will change over log when I am back (next wee)

Found with JelenaGreenleaf. Love the hide! The log was too wet to sign, needs replacing. Ive taken a photo if CO wants to see proof of our find. Tftc
Was concerned about my ability to find a micro at night but the hint helped a lot! Very clever. Log seems to be a little damp so hard to retrieve. TFTC!
This one was next……hmmmm the clue was extremely helpful…..got in the right area and my muggle mate was onto this cleverly hidden cache,….loved it tftc fave point from me

Found on a caching expedition around St Arnaud. A pretty sneaky hide. TFTC.
Catching up on logging. We spent a week in Adelaide catching up with family and then headed to St Arnauds via the Silos south of the Mallee Highway arriving in St Arnaud last night. So today we are off to explore the street art and caches around the town. We have been aiming to get back here since the Mega in 2019 where we were able to catch a few of the trails but of course not all. This was the next cache for the morning. We had actually come here in search of one of the pieces of street art which locals believed was here but we couldnt find it. Anyway on to the cache... what a cool cache. JMelb had a look and dismissed and we looked elsewhere but the co-ords kept bringing us back. GMelb was able to extract. Very nice hide and a FP from us !

Great hide here. Easy for a nano but love how the Co Concealed their hide. Love the flat path with my dodgy feet. Back here finding a few more since the mega a few years back.
Find # 2798 for me. Found at 9:12am with my dog Bonnie before FUF009's 10th geobirthday celebration in Saint Arnaud. Actually, I'd also planned to meet up with a few other geocachers for breakfast at 9:30 so I only had time for this find before doing that. Thankfully I found this one quickly in the first place I looked, due entirely to great coordinates as the GPS signal took me straight to it. However, the very sneak camo is definitely worth a favorite point. Great effort!! Thanks for the fun and the very clever hide here strange quark1!

Wow, this town sure has some wonderful caches on offer and so pleased we made the decision to come here whilst on our journey to SA.
Almost all caches were in great order and were a pleasure to find. Appreciate all the hard work that the CO's have put in placing these hides.

Have been wanting to turn this guy into a smiley for a long time now. In towns / burbs, satellite view is underrated, as this time didn't search the bush. Found rather quickly, double commo! Thanks for the cache.
No joy here today my brain is fried with the heat, back yo rhecampong ground for me!!
Found...what a great hide. While our son was trying out the long jump...we spotted the cache. Well done. TFTC
Sick hide! Found straight away but didn’t actually realise we found it until further inspection .
After a hop, step and jump and a bit of search, we found the prize, clever hide, TFTC
Now that was fun.
We had some morning tea and met the local who wondered why we stopped for cake and coffee outside his front yard. A nice conversation....
Thanks to strange quark1 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

Awesome hide, first time I have seen one of this containers in real life, only on the Internet. Good job, thanks
Staying with Family in Bendigo, we decided on a road trip with GeoMum and the GeoSister's to St Arnaud. After completing the AI & TBO series of caches, we had our BBQ lunch at the Queen Mary Gardens then decided to pick up this one last cache before heading back to Bendigo. Initially we were also searching around and around the bush then we read the hint and it wasn't long before Mrs Pooky made the find. A well camouflaged cache. TFTC.
Welcome back from Covid. If there are issues with the cache after the length of time in situ please message me.
Due to a rise in Covid-19 I have made a conscious decision not to undertake cache maintenance as I feel that it doesn’t fit one of the reasons for being out during this pandemic. As I work in Melbourne in an emergency service but live regional I will not be putting myself or my community at risk.
I therefore am disabling all of my physical caches for the time being. The caches them self will be left in situ.
I won’t be deleting logs or anything like that and I intend to enable them again once I feel that my safety or that of my community won’t be put at risk.
I apologise for the inconvenience.

Need to investigate this particular cache. From a number of accounts it has gone wandering.
No joy here. I’ve got a photo to show that there’s no container where a precious finder reported it as hidden. Thanks anyway.
Out and about with sir_spectre on our final day in St Arnaud. Luckily we have some assistance as we were looking in the wrong spot completly.

Day 7 St Arnaud Campground to Mount Beckworth Reserve - Cork Oaks Camp ground
It's not in the tree but the tree does look worse for wear. The hint made sense after we found the cache. That blends in well. replaced the log since it was full. Not a quick find.
We left St Arnaud and heading in the general direction of Mount Beckworth Reserve to the puzzle trail. We stopped along the way to get multi's,puzzles and any local coucil areas. This was one of a small number of caches found on route to the reserve. We had to fix a staked tyre before we left, so it wasa late start. quick find.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

Grabbed after attending the St Arnaud Mega. Very clever hide. CO happened to be driving by and pointed us in the right direction. Another fav point from us. TFTC strange quark1.
Found while at the St Arnaud event Sorry about the incredibly late log, this must have been lost in my drafts. Had a ball at the event, and finding this cache. I remember having to get my heavily pregnant friend to come and help me because I couldn't quite work it out by myself!
Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Found on day four of my St. Arnaud Mega event adventure and after knocking off all of the lab caches on offer, it was time to go grab some physical ones!

Well the weekend is here and the hoards of cachers have been turning up all week and it is now the Mega weekend so that means lab caches, signal the frog, more events and catching up with friends and making some new ones.
After helping out at the Mega site in the morning I then went out and found the new series that had been put out since I was last here then attended the GIFF and now to try and find a few close ones around town before tea.
These green dots have been been haunting me in all of the visits up here and with a load of cacher’s walking around town I wouldn’t be so conspicuous trying to find them.
They have done a bit of work on the garden recently and I thought that it could be missing but the GPS sent me somewhere else.
This one had me looking everywhere then I spotted something but surely it couldn’t be it but it was, a very sneaky cache that I can see could be missed.
Thanks strange quark1 TFTC.

Met up with Nana C and we had a ahh moment as we found this one which she had not found on a previous visit. Thanks for an interesting hide.
Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. This cache was one of these found as we headed towards Stuart Mill. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

We teamed up with Rapidlywild and headed down from Canberra for another Geocaching Victoria Mega. We arrived at our accommodation in Bendigo on Friday afternoon / evening and checked out a few caches in the area before retiring for the evening. On Saturday morning, we had a pleasant drive across to St Arnaud, arriving at the event as the opening ceremony was wrapping up, and the lab caches were released, so we joined the frenzy with the masses solving the cleverly constructed lab caches.
Sunday, day two of our mega weekend we headed over to St Arnaud to tackle some of the fire trails, and what ever else we came across along the way. After tackling the FT trail and the Loop Trail and surrounds, it was time to head back into town. No muggles around, so made for a quick find.

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache strange quark1!
It's that time of the year again, Victorian Mega time, so its off to St Arnaud for myself and the ladies of FurfacesLL. A long road trip ahead, heading off Friday morning and getting home late Monday night and a fun filled weekend. We found many caches of all kinds of variety.. Trads, Multis, Puzzles, EC's, Virtuals, Letterboxes, Wherigos, Events, Cito's and of course, the Mega itself. We enjoyed the weekend and there sure are some unique caches here in St Arnaud, we still have plenty left to collect, so may need to coordinate another trip this way some time.
Sunday is here, after a massive day yesterday doing the StARS trails, the Challenge trails, the CITO, Events and Lab caches. Today we decided to head out to try some of the Fire Trail trails and we were not disappointed.
After finishing the FBT trail, we moved over to the Loop Track trail. Must admit, was pretty impressed with some of the containers along this one, dropping a few FP's [^] Apologies for generic logs, with over 300 to log, it all becomes a blurr after a while
Thanks for the hide strange quark1 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another amazing trip away

Found quickly in a really neat hidey hole, but the log was full. Unable to sign.
TFTC though. Nice one.

Very, very clever hide and disguise. A fav point from us too.
Heading home from the event, just thought we would pick up another cache or two.

On our way home we decided to grab a couple more before heading off. This was a very clever disguise. TFTC.
This morning woke up and set off to find some more caches and clean up the last few in the town, stopped by this cache for a quick find
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.
