Looks like the Count is no more. Maybe someone can hide a cache in the nearby car that I never managed to find ...
Nice walk in and splendid cache worthy views from GZ. After climbing up and down a number of times checked with CO and this is more than likely missing in action. Checked below but no sign of fallen fruit.
Found it - it was damaged by the fire and there was no pen. But there was an amazing lookout!
Managed the terrain OK but it was a long walk in! The beast was sleeping so we were able to sign the log without any problems! TFTC
Ok, this was an effort. It has been unloved for 10 months, which is always a concern, and there was talk of indistinct trails ..... Ok yep found an indistinct trail that lead nowhere except to a house, so had to do the bush bash anyway which was tough. Found GZ, great views! Ok there is the cache....... urgh ah stretch... got it. Now get out the log .... ok that was easy, it is nice and dry, now don’t drop it..... drops the log...... doh, sigh, see attached pic(down there somewhere), urgh ah ooof, got the log, write in the log. Now to replace. Urgh ah stretch ...... swear ...... done. Back in position. Now to get out of here. Is that a trail? Yep, and it zig zags all the way to the south end of the rock platform! No bush bashing required ! TFTC! FP for the adventure and the story!
Found this one, with my family. Very clever. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a pen and there was nothing for us to record our visit. Great little spot though.
My final find for the afternoon and what a great way to end.
Very cool camo, very clever hide and very impressive location.
Came down via recommended trailhead, however, decided to have a bit of fun and make my way down to Oxford Falls Rd on the way out... successful and it was fun!
TFTC! Fav point.

Great cache. Came on a bike. Luckily my geobrother brought a pen to sign the log with.
Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. Quick find after the orienteering race near by. Wee were doing the walk for the whereigo and added a couple side caches as well. What a great camo lived the hide. TFTC TNLNSL.

Whilst attempting the nearby Whereigo we took a slight detour to this one.
GZ was a lovely sunny spot, with great district views.
A few circles and I soon spotted The Count.
It was my turn for the retrieve so geohubby took a seat.

17/4/17 Found with pk1965. A morning out with pk1965 saw us collect the 'Killarney Drive Bush!' Multi Cache, 'Play park', 'Kvack the Duck's Cute Ducklings', 'The Count', 'Red Hill', 'Jimmy's Jaunt', 'The Guvnors Lookout'. In the evening, I decided to go for a recently published cache, which had not been logged, 'Anastasia in Disguise', with morry9 and we made a joint First To Find there. Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners.
After having found Red Hill cache GC37Z1H I thought it was smart to find a closer access point from Oxford Falls Rd or possibly Dreadnoughts Rd. Well, after having discovered that the Dreadnoughts Rd shown on maps running of Oxford Falls rd and along Red Hill Reserve doesn't actually exist. And the closest access from Oxford Falls Rd is a disused Council Landscape supplies storage facility that showed up on satellite.
Had I have studied the description a bit more I would have realised access from Red Hills Reserve is off Red Hills Main track, the track I was inadvertently on to retrieve the Red Hills cache.
So with time running out to return to the original entry to Red Hill Reserve via Lady Penrhyn Dr. I decided to try Bush bashing my way to the cache location. The bush was quite dense but not impenetrable. Once I starting closing in on GZ I could see that the sandstone block described was a 25meter or so cliff at which GZ was on the top. Luckily about 45 m south I found a place where I could scramble up to the correct altitude.
Once I got near GZ the cache hiding spot became apparent.
OMFG after my 4th bush bashing jaunt for the day in 36 degree heat. I'm done.
A very clever container in great hiding spot.

Brought the mountain bike to collect a few caches around Red Hill reserve today. The bike made navigating these tracks much quicker than when I was on foot here last time chasing down a Wherigo. Ditched the bike at the start of the indistinct trail and made my way down to GZ. Soon spotted the little blood sucker and signed his innards...

Was happily pushing the stroller around, yes I read the attributes and went and got the baby out of the car for its first geocaching experience. We both had a great time taking the detour from the whereigo to this. Beautiful smooth track. Some would say that it was smooth as a wrinkled hairy butt. But I will leave that to your imagination. Finally made it to batmans lare and realised that mini human in the stroller would come in useful. Up it flew and first shot headbutted the cache from its spot. We signed together and then started throwing baby in the air to get the cache back in place. It took about 10 times until success. It was fun watching baby bounce around on the branches like a pin ball wizard and the few crash landing on the other side of the tree have left bruises that will be difficult to explain to human services. But hey had a great time and a favourite is awarded. Tftc tnln
Sorry, will be another week or so - have to make an adjustment, and need a new part.
Found it! (from the attributes I am guessing it is not in it's original position?) Signed "ze cache" and returned to "ze spot" I found it in. It is a bit wet inside the cache so tried to position it to avoid any further damage TFTC Cute cache
Streak day #81 - second cache for the day. After finding the nearby Red Hill cache, I decided to grab this one as it wasn't much further, or at least that's what the map told me. I followed what was most likely an animal track most of the way to this cache. At one point the scrub either side of me was taller than my head, every step was made cautiously for fear of treading on a snake. Thankfully the scrub thinned out as I got near the GZ. It is a very clever one. My first like this. I look forward to finding more like it. After signing the log I hung out for a while, relaxing whilst contemplating how to get back out again. Awesome cache. Cheers.
Nice walk in good direction. Beautiful location for GZ. Bring GeoKids for the final push to the cache.
Nice one After a bit of looking around the GZ, contemplating the hint and reading a couple of the previous logs, the penny finally droped. Great location and fun camo. TFTC
This is a good one. But a note to self when moving from cache to cache a straight line is not always easiest.
The second chudles cache for the day, what a treat !
Continued following the Red Hill bush tracks, after grabbing "Red Hill cache", and turned off the main track just before the house. Left the mountain bike at the turnoff and continued on foot. Found the faint track, passed the Count's car, and finally arrived at GZ.
Unfortunately I found the Count "out for the count" lying on the ground. Contents were quite wet but I dried everything out in the warm afternoon sun before replacing. Took Monorail token and replaced with a 1961 Australian Penny.
I assume he was suppose to be "hanging around" so I replaced him where I think he should have been and can supply a photo of where I put him, if required.
Thanks chudles for the nice little Saturday afternoon bush bash, and for the very nicely camoed cache.

Good one !!! I have been doing too many of the 'traditional' (Sistema Box) caches recently and had to spend a bit of time to re-calibrate back to looking for the better camo finds. Cache is in good condition, a tiny bit wet on the inside but the log is fine. TN - L some stamps and a monorail token. When I get my next favorite point I will give it to this one!!
Again, TFTC and hope to see more visitors out here, a good one to do.....

Just one for the day. I found this one this afternoon whilst out on the calendar gap and DT rating cache hunt which brought me back to the Beacon Hill.
As CJ is away, I did this one solo. There a few caches that I haven't done around here and I was heading through on my way home. Today the weather was perfect for quick walk and cache. The coords were excellent. As I arrived at the GZ, I saw the cache and knew how to retrieve it. The container and log are all in good nick. This is another clever Chudles type container with unusual camo. I signed and replaced it exactly as we found it.
It was a great day for finding another cache down the in the bush:) Thanks Chudles for another of your caches. SL TNLN TFTC

On the walk back from Maladies #4 we thought it would be a quick stop off to see the count. Took a little longer than we thought but we got there eventually.

Made a running visit with GeoSon during a brief break in the rain to restore the count ...
OK. After a search I've found my cache - does that count as a find? Will be back in action in the next two weeks.
The Count needs repairing, but first I have to find his new hiding spot. In a case of reverse caching, I have asked the previous finder for a hint, as he was nowhere to be seen
What a great spot with fantastic outlook.
Took several paths to get to this one, some a little scratchy which resulted in many complaints from Geoson #2. In hindsight just needed to pay more attention to the instructions and not mix North up with South...
Found the cache in an unexpected location so replaced in a more logical one.
Log book is damp and a strap is broken - maybe some minor maintenance required.
Thanks for a fantastic location and great cache.

Reperio at 1730.
On the way to completing 'Maladies #5', I saw this one not too far away, so I saved the wherigo and headed down to it. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly spotted, and once signed, it was back to completing the wherigo before heading home to Newcastle. A great area for a cache or two.

Picked up this one while we where doing the Where I Go #5. As it was only a short distance away it was a case of a small detour. we thought we found a track but it ran out at the small cliff but it was not too hard to pick our way down. We soon spotted the cache and accended to make the find. we completed teh signing duties and re hid. We took a different route out as we saw another smal trail and came across the old car. TFTC
Not one to like doing things the easy way I bushed bashed up and back from the old depo of Oxford falls Rd. Great cache with awesome views. Cheers
First of a trio found during a late afternoon, rather damp walk around Red Hill with the geo-crew. The easy path down to GZ was found quickly enough (just turn right at the large sandstone shelf), and the geo-kids loved the cache. The inside of the container is wet but the log book in the second bag is only slightly moist. Many thanks chudles
I hadn't been to the northern beaches since yesterday so was long overdue for a visit. This time geodaughter was invited to a party in Cromer, so it was decided between geodog and I to spend the interim between set down and pick up by walking some of the firetrails near Beacon Hill. I never realised just how much bush there is around here. It is great that it is crown land but not National Park so geodoggie could come. I guess that means that there will be more development here in the years to come however. We parked at the end of Brooker Ave and started the same way as we had yesterday for Ozcalibur then looked for a trail going towards the Count. That found, it led to another trail, then another. I was a bit nervous about trail bikes but we only encountered one and he very politely slowed down until he was sure I had a good hold on doggie then scooted past. We found the entrance to the trail down the hill towards the cache, but lost it halfway down whilst crossing a large sandstone platform, so we had to bush bash a fair bit. We continued down wondering what we would need to count when we got there: rocks, trees, native wildlife? We circled GZ a bit and homed in on the co-ords. I had some preconceptions about where it might be hidden which were all incorrect. Eventually when the GZ got within a couple of metres I found myself staring at it. A very fun hide. TFTC Chudles.
I had some trouble finding the right "indistinct path". Having gone south over a large outcrop all the indistinct paths ended up at a cliff drop or dense bush.
As I was leaving I saw one last indistinct path at the northern end of the rock outcrop. I followed this and it became a pleasant bushwalk down to the base of the rock and around to GZ.
I got a giggle when I saw the camo. There was water inside but the log was dry in its ziplock bag inside a ziplock bag.

Tried to access this from just past the corner of Dreadnought Rd and Oxford Falls Rd. There is now a house in the middle of the path that Google Earth suggests.
What is the recommended parking point for this?

As promised, we ticked off this cache in November, actually on our last 'empty' November day.
We did not drive in, since the sign at the entry to the gravel road clearly said 'No Motor Vehicles'. I guess the exception is only for those living along the road.
Nice camo, will get a favvo from us.

10/11/12 3:49 PM. Cache #222. Current streak: 62 days. Took a while to find, with Garmin & iPhone sending Yelyac & I in circles at varying levels. At gz, Yelyac made the grab and we signed. Oh and I took the CUIYC TB (#6) & left #1. Loved the container, you get a fave from me. TFTC.

Loved it! favourite point from us. haven't done a tough bush cache for a while and wanted to place a certain TB here. Ran in from Brooker ave about 1.5kms. Saw the car on the way down - how did that get there?. TFTC
Final cache of seven today - took longer to get to than expected after taking a wrong turn and ended up doing some rock climbing. As soon as we reached the summit geoson recognised GZ and was able to climb the tree and rescue The Count. Great camo, favourite point awarded!

Took a little while to plot a path of least resistance, eventually we made it to the GZ and the count was quickly nabbed. While the count was well behaved(recovering from a big Halloween,I hope he was not driving the nearby car wreck),the same could not be said for the local flora which drew some blood. TFTC (Thanks for the count).
This was another unfound in the area on my morning out with Baktrak. Quite a new cache and we were intrigued by the name. Found a gravel driveway which took us to within a couple of hundred metres of GZ and we followed the various tracks in. Spotted The Count having a snooze (it was daytime after all) and Baktrak quickly volunteered to go all arboreal while I stayed earthbound. I signed and took the GC, wouldn't want The Count to get too fond of it! Baktrak then did his duties and returned The Count to his rightful place - the right way around!
Thanks!
A favourite for something a bit different.

Our final and bonus cache for the morning. I'd been in this reserve before but wasn't sure about how far we could drive. Some maps of this area are very wrong. In the end, we had a shortish walk through some clean bush, certainly easier than the madness of our previous find, before spotting something amusing from a distance.
I surprised myself by having enough upper-body strength to get to the Count quite easily and released him for long enough to do our documentary duties.
I thought this cache had a couple of unusual and entertaining features and so deserves a fave point. Thanks Chudles.

Need to make some quick repairs - should only take a couple of hours. If you happen to get here in the meanwhile, take a photo of the tree
Had a nice walk out to the little trail, and got a bit lost on the little trail, as there were many trails. Did like the old car out there. Once at GZ had a bit of fun and found the awesome cache. Couldn't open the cache, and neither could chudles later today. Spent a good ten minutes trying to open it! Anyhow, gave up eventually, and had a nice walk back. Thanks chudles for allowing us to make the find.

It was a tough decision, work or a FTF ... (for both of us) well, but after noticing we had the worst odds ... the decision was clear - no attempt today - our odds was 3.5 - and "none mentioned was 2.0 .... well, that meant ... hmmm ... Will scheduled this one to be find on one of the "missing" dates in November
Annoyingness... The geo mum won't let us go here before school (so I am thinking we probably won't be the FTF!) might try after school (though we do have hockey) if the FTF is still available
There was a reason why CentreBet didn't offer odds on the first note

Due to our nocturnal activities over at Journey's End, we have pulled up lame today and will need to be scratched. Given the zargfinders comments below I am putting my money on the Vikings, with an each way bet on Karabo.
FTF. Well a joint one. Found with incache. After finishing work and seeing this one still unlogged decided to go for it, seeing as I was at short odds. I would say terrain rating is pretty spot on. Also like the cache container very clever. Tftc
