Logs
After a rainy overcast Saturday in South East Queensland I readied myself for a day of caching in the western suburbs of Brisbane. Heading out mid morning I soon arrived at the identified parking coordinates for this cache and made my way to ground zero quickly. The cache was soon located and the log extracted and signed before carefully placing back in its hidey hole ready for the next lucky cacher to find. I quickly made my way back to the car and was soon off on the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be fo7nd by fellow cachers.CheersDefinitely needed the hint in previous logs
I picked a really hot, really humid night to find some caches in full motorcycle gear great idea F15CHER As such, I was literally DRIPPING with sweat trying to find this cache haha. I followed the clues from previous logs, went down the other end, jumped the fence, followed the hint and boom there it was in its little nook. Love the cache, hate the humidity tftc!
Today i came to find just 2 caches with a night time attribute to qualify for May night time challenge GC9PJ7H and this one fitted in nicely. This ended up being my 3rd with the night time attribute. I followed the compass with no luck and then i read previous logs which mentioned it was on the other side of the bridge around 35 meters to the other side i hoped over the fence and then after a few minutes spotted this cute cache. I ended up not needing to jump the fence but walked along the side to the end of the path . That was fun. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
Out for the day with nikid1 in search of a particular attribute for a May challenge. After reading previous logs on our walk to GZ we started searching at the closest end of the bridge & it wasn't too long before nikid1 spied the cute cache container. After a few acrobatics she had our names in the log & it wasn't till we were walking back to the car that we spied the easier path to GZ!
Thanks for the cache an old hag

Out this way with KerriMG chasing some attributes for May.
Parked behind the servo and went for a walk. We had read that it was about 30m out so we started looking at the correct end.
Still took a bit to spot it. Not sure if it’s meant to be there as we could T reach it from where we were. I jump the fence and soon the cache was in hand, log signed and replaced as found. We saw later that there was another way to get to the cache that did t involve jumping the fence.
Cute container

I’ve had a look for this one myself previously without any luck. Today I went looking with GeoM93. We checked all 4 corners of the bridge before I finally found it. It’s still on the other end from the given coordinates. GeoM thought it was a great container.
Found while in the area visiting my son for his birthday. #12 for the day. After reading previous posts, I changed direction and quickly found the cache.
FINALLY!! This one has eluded us for so long. As per previous logs the cache has crept to the other side of the bridge. TFTC
This one took some time. I went to the posted coordinates and saw a garden path and a gate as mentioned in both the hint and by others but couldn't find anything. So I contacted the previous finder who helped immensely. For me it was 37m out and I couldn't push open the cleverly designed gate so did the long walk around. The cache has obviously moved to the other side of the bridge but the cute container is in a safer location. Luckily there was no-one about to see my antics. Tftc
After scouring the logs and talking to a previous finder, I came back for another look. Logs mentioning a gate really helped as I found it 40m from GZ at the other end of the bridge. Not sure if it was supposed to be there but left it where I found it. It was also missing a log so I added one. Thanks for the cache
We went up the garden path and used the phone camera to search in places we didn’t want to stick our hands in. I even searched on the other side but no luck
Signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for the cache.

Must be loosing our touch. Today is was Finds 0 DNFs 2. But I do think that we were led up the garden path, the GPS indicated it was in the middle of the bridge but once on the bridge the GPS did not know what to do with all that metal around.

You can always expect something a little different with this CO... even though she no longer plays the game, this cache is in good condition... and only a couple of finds this year...

I don't know why I never found this one the other day when I was near here at the other end of the bike path. Perhaps I never had the coordinates/GPX file in the GPS? A superficial look this morning found nothing and it was "over there" a few metres. Went back to the car for the TOTT. Drone with grab hook, climbing gear, endoscope, rope ladder, angle grinder, etc. Once I settled into a safe position belayed firmly to a sturdy fence post, I started a thorough search. Might have been easier with a magnetometer and ground penetrating radar, but soon had Thomas the tank engine in hand. Thank you, Rev R W Audry. Added to the log. Although badly discoloured the log sheet seemed to have plenty of spare space. Replaced where found, packed up all the tools, and departed. TFTC, an old hag.
As we drove past the petrol station we were wondering why there was no one filling up their cars. I’ve seen graveyards with more atmosphere and I’m not talking about the ones where zombies hold their orgies. It only dawned on us when we hit the end of the street with nowhere to go that this petrol station is actually in the middle of nowhere. In fact it is the capital of nowhere. We wondered why it is even still open. They must have got so excited when they saw us coming up the street only to drive on by.
It looks like the new dumping laws are working a treat because the dead-end road is a new unofficial refuse station. Apart from briefly contemplating picking up a TV or broken pram, we bypassed the queue and walked over to GZ.
Our search took a little bit of time before we decided to stick our hands in some strange spots. This was going to be our last cache before heading off to the pub for lunch and you can’t enjoy a feed with the sour taste of DNF in your mouth. Some rain began to fall and we knew that the race was on. I just started blindly sticking my hands in everywhere for a feel like being on a blind date with someone that is actually blind. One day I know I will be bitten by something but the only thing that stung me today was the cache. tftc

Out for another day of cycling with a little geocaching to provide rest stops along the way. I caught the train to Ipswich and started my loop back home by bike. After a bad run of DNF’s ( 4 in a row) the day settled down after that. (Appears that 2 of the 4 had gone MIA and the other 2 well maybe I had not woken up or the DNF’s left a bad taste in my eyes)
Log is dry now long time since anyone actually signed the log.

I came looking for this cache yesterday afternoon, when a walk brought us this way with our muggle son and his wife, but yesterday fell for the obvious mistake and wasted a lot of time looking in all the wrong places.
This morning I woke up before Mr stw and after reading through all the logs I had a bit of an idea where I'd been led down the garden path. I was itching to see if my hunch was correct decided to head out and have a look.
This time I astounded myself with the super-quick locating of the cache and snatched it up immediately. I was thrilled to see that my name was the first for 7 months (I love finding "unloved" caches, even though we've already logged the Queensland unloved challenge). After signing the log, I realised that is grabbed the cache in such hate, I had no idea how to replace it correctly! D'oh! After such a fast retrieval, I spent another 5+ minutes trying to work out how to put it back! I think I finally got it right, remembering that a previous finder had fumbled and it had rolled out of reach. Thomas was certainly helpful in helping me find the cache, and he can still *just* be seen where I've replaced the cache. Luckily there was nobody walking past this whole time- I guess the rain put off all but the most foolish geocachers?
Thanks for placing and maintaining this tricky cache!

Coordinates just wouldn't work for us here but cache was eventually found in what seemed to be a logical hiding spot. Thanks, cute!
We decided to have another look for this one today and told ourselves that it was only going to be given five minutes, strange we needed less than a minute. The remaining time we spent at a nearby cache.
We, both hubby and my self, checked GZ several times and neither one of us felt or saw the cache, today I was able to see the cache and retrieve with ease. We both would be able to undergo a lie detector and pass as we both swore it was not there yesterday, maybe the train ghosts where playing with us.

Another DNF to add to the list, we know that the cache owner has a knack for hiding a cache so that you can be looking at it but do not see it. Is this another of that style. Oh well, as we have another appointment in a short while we need to leave this one for another day.
OrionJ and I strolled to this cache from another nearby. Here, my unreliable phone wouldnt settle at all. So I searched and searched in the general area it was telling me, without luck. I even directed OrionJ to search in a few places that were more appropriate to the terrain rating.....again without luck. Eventually, he agreed with me that my phone was pretty useless here and he headed back to where he had been looking. He began rechecking place he had already looked and soon came up with this cleverly hidden cache. Our names were added tot the log and the cache rehidden before we headed off to the next one
Next up for this little walk and there was a little more looking then we were expecting here. Checked a few places and nothing was coming up, the phone camera soon come out that did not help in the spots I was looking with. From one side to another and back again.
In the end the cache was found in a spot that I had effectively (or not so much) checked already. Alas it was there waiting when I come back to look again. Names added to the log and soon again on our way.

Found the train although its to small for me to ride. Big enough for the log to sign.
Bit frustrated at this point as SB and I missed the last 2 we looked for as well... Lots of rocks turned over, but again got nada. Running low on energy we moved on to get some eats.
I headed towards this one and then remembered my last attempt to sign the log back in November 2012 and then I dropped the cache and had to leave it to the CO to recover.
So, as I knew where I had found it last time, I headed to the area and, this time, I took a good hold of the cache so that I didn't repeat my last effort.
Finally got this one off the list of DNFs. TFTC.

While my kids were having their dance photos, I decided to do some of the bikeway series. I went up the wrong garden path but spotted it from where I was. Now to get to there. Chugga chugga! TFTC!
Continued to walk along the lovely bikeway from the previous cache, before coming to this bridge. Like others, I too went down the wrong garden path, before heading back up to the bridge walkway. Wandered this way and that, mostly on the bridge, forgetting about the hint and focussing on where I would have hidden the cache. Unfortunately it wasn't me that hid this cache….
So after a few minutes and still empty handed, I went back to the hint and put my thinking cap back on. Stuck my head in a few interesting places and in one of them I caught a glimpse of colour (although after finding the cache I'm not sure if I was just seeing things cos it wasn't the colour I thought I saw!). Anyway, found my way to that section, no acrobatics required, and a little feel around produced the cache. Thomas the Tank Engine must have been looking out for me - just keep repeating "I think I can (find it), I think I can (find it", and you'll get there!

Took a little while, almost gave up then I spotted the cache, as soon as I did I burst out laughing and a lady walked by looking at me like I was crazy. "Just found my fiances engagement ring" I said. Great hide, this was my second so im new. Logbooks a bit water damaged, could do with a ziplock bag to protect it.
TFTC. #230. I followed a path only to come to a locked gate and enough distance to go that I turned around and tried again. After another garden path I managed to find the little sucker. I even spotted a gate through to the concrete bikeways only a little away, making the walk out easier and just in time for a train to come by.
Typical old hag, as usual standing in the middle of nowhere laughing my head off. Nice one old hag.
Nice spot along here.
Arriving all hot and bothered at GZ, I stopped in the shade for a quick drink and a snack. I was unable to get decent GPS reception along the bridge, though had a good inkling as to where the hide may be. That spot however turned up nothing, so I turned to the hint, which pointed me further back the way I had come.
I walked back around, and came to a locked fence. I searched the usual spots, one of which I swear held the cache. My guess at this point is that it had fallen down, and was unreachable. Assuming this is where it was meant to be, I moved on, however noticed something on my way back up. I went through another entrance, and found myself looking at my original spot from another angle. I spied the cache almost straight away, and was quick to sign my name before any muggles came along.

TFTC After reading the logs I was concerned that I would have to jump over a locked gate, but fortunately this wasn't necessary.
Second attempt here today with misssusan and remsjw, we were
determined to cross this one off the dnf list, we worked out what the other garden path was and having a bit of an idea tracked down the little fella. We were sort of on the right track as to what we were looking for. Don't know why we didn't search here last time. Tftc.

Back again. Found a gate so we didnt have to do any gymastics. Classic find for the old hag. Thanks!
Annabell and Clarabel trains pass here often as do many troublesome trucks. Pathway is popular too. Terrain can be tricky but need not be to find the popular little cheeky one. Eventually you will need long arms to get this one (and shunt it back). Cranky wont help either.
Headed back today for take 2... Found it within seconds. Must not have been my day last time. TFTC!
Well this one took an effort. Parked the car at the end of the path and walked to GZ. When there the GPS was pointing me one way but the clue had me looking elsewhere. Decided to take the shorter route involving some gymnastics to get to the search area. Looked and looked, including pulling on things I probably shouldn't have, for no success so returned the way I came to reconsider things. A read of the logs gave me renewed hope, so again returned to the search area, the gymnastics becoming more tiring at each attempt. A better search soon revealed the cache. Went to sign the log but my pen decided to die, requiring a trip back to the car - damn, more gymnastic required to get there and back! Eventually log signed and cache returned. A final set of gymnastics and I was on the way back to the car. Thanks for a great cache and a great hide.
Do not know what is wrong with my eyes today! Will have to come back and try again. Feeling a bit sad!
Like many before we headed up the wrong garden path. After no luck there we tried the other garden path and soon found the cache
Out and about on yet another Freaky Friday with teamdfl. A few garden paths to pick from and of course we chose the wrong one We eventually got the right one, but the search still took some time. TFTC, an old hag.
looked around for a while with this one & then read the hint TFTC

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
After grabbing the other cache nearby, the walk to the next felt just as short, and within no time at all, we were at GZ The metal surrounding the area did play silly buggers with the GPSr, however after a careful think, the hint made sense, and the cache was very soon in hand

Will be replacing this one in the morning, however I will not be home until later in the afternoon to place it back on line, so if you are looking for this one tomorrow there is a good chance that I will have been here and placed a replacement for you to find
Looks like this one has taken itself for a walk, so I am disabling it until I can either entice it back to it's rightful position or replace it
Aaarrrggghhh this one turned out to be frustrating and I was hot and bothered with the sun belting on GZ for the duration... I arrived at GZ and identified two likely hiding locations. With one inaccessible, the other looked kinda favourable and off I went. I hunted high and low in the area and scoured a number of nooks and crannies in all locations. Nothing... Hmm... I moved into the shade and read through the logs. Hmm, a couple of them gave me the idea I was in the right place so I moved back in for a further search. Still nothing... RIGHT, that's it, I'm giving this one away...
I headed off to another nearby cache and got a call as I was just approaching... Hey, that was good timing, I need some help... What do you mean it's "THERE"... I don't think it is... [?] After securing the other cache down the path, I came back to this one and scoured a little further. Shortly afterwards I was joined by the cache owner who confirmed I was looking in the right place and was surprised tha nothing was coming to hand...
With a further deep hunt, I was still empty handed but permission was granted to claim the find as if it was in location, it would have been found. The CO plans to come back with some gadgets to check the area...
I was suffering all sorts of frustrations with Old Hag caches today, perhaps it was a message that I should have stayed at home...
Cheers Old Hag.

Took to the bike track today on foot and as I approached GZ my first thought was so many hiding spots. I took the obvious option after reading the hint but then saw another less obvious route that matched the clue. An easy find once I was in the correct position. TFTC.
