Over at Port Pirie for our Anniversary Australia Day long weekend. Today we stayed around Port Pirie to tackle the caches in and around town. Had a thorough search but didn't find this today, will watchlist and revisit.
Found the container out in the open but otherwise all good so we signed and rehid. TFTC
A few days in Port Pirie with the muggle Mrs exploring the town and seeking out whatever hides I can.
All caches were is good condition unless stated otherwise.
Another quick find with the hide just exposed to the elements. A note on the log sheet reads that someone (muggles) had found your stash.
Thank you for the cache desertfox41 Find Number 10637 on 5/07/2023

Found on a short night time caching run. A quick park and grab here. Signed log and left as found. Maybe not ideal to have loose batteries in the cache.
Find #5865 on 25 Jun 2023.

I love these geocaches! They show us little treasures, even as locals, we didn't know about!
Paper was wet, no pen/pencil and no key ring?

TFTC. Day 17 of honeymoon caching trip. Ride out yesterdays weather, now some nicer weather for caching around Crystal Brook & Pirie
Happy caching and safe travels!

After a day touring around Port Pirie and visiting wetlands this was last on the list and in contrast to the others was quite dry and mosquito free. Yaaay. Hard to believe this hidden outback oasis exists in the middle of town. Lived here years ago and had no idea. Tftc.
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.
The sun is shining on our last full caching day in Port Pirie. Out with iluvtrekking grabbing the last of the straggler caches. We made a quick find here. Thanks for the hide.
Walked down, as instructed... found the cache open, on the ground, with contents strewn around.
Re-assembled, signed logsheet, and replaced as per hint, with some coverings.
GZ is obviously compromised so may need to shift it?
TNLNSL
Thanks

Logbook is full of muggle writings, also it has been compromised, so may need a new, nearby, GZ.
We found the cache open & lying on the ground & the log some distance away. There was writing on the log "we found your stash" so obviously muggled. We signed & replaced log in container & hid under a rock & loose bark. No doubt it will be muggled again as it is easily found. TFTC
No pencil and we forgot a pen. Big enough for swaps for anyone coming this way
Found on a trip to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie with Team Waldron for a few days. It rained steadily for the morning but gradually eased by mid afternoon. The aim for the weekend was to find as many caches as possible in the area which we accomplished with damp clothes, soggy shoes and a muddy car! Thanks for the cache desertfox41!
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending 2 weeks in Port Pirie, today we headed arround town to find a few caches.

Had to work out how to get into here but wasn’t too hard, arrived to find the cache wasn’t very well hidden by the last finder
After staying in Port Pirie last night, today Davidwazza and I set out to clean up port Pirie before making a long detour via Jamestown to gawler for an evening event. We had a few targets with a 2001 cache near Jamestown to collect and a few others. All up 68 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Gawler dinner event.
Today, we got up early and spent the first half of the day travelling around Port Pirie. A few highlights were the views of the lead smelters, the historic main street, and wetlands. Once a bakery lunch was had, we headed east, and found a few geocaches in Gladstone, Caltowie, and Jamestown. We then left some time to visit Bundaleer Forest Reserve for the 05/2001 hidden cache, as that was my last remaining available South Australian Jasmer grid caches. We then drove the few hours south to the international geocaching dinner Gawler event, before heading home.
We found a way through from the main road into these wetlands, and managed to make a quick park and grab at GZ. We could actually see the geocache upon approach. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks desertfox41 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Pleased to find the cache practically a drive by today.
Not so wet in the wetlands, but the rain was trying to help

Last service trip for the year 2019, Starting at Port Pirie Hospital. Quick find after a walk from the TAFE car park.
2nd cache for the week. Spending the week in this lovely town to further study aviation at one of the local schools. Quick easy find, however I managed to find two sperate containers, sadly they only count as one. Signed them both just in case. TFTC
Staying at port for a few days after visiting Alice, Uluru and King's Canyon. Keen to do some local caches.
Parked nearby and we headed to GZ. Upon arrival found two containers with logs in each. We signed both logs "to be sure - to be sure" TFTC desertfox41

Hi there desertfox41.
We found your cache **"PHOENIX PARK WETLANDS"** at 11:08:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 16054).
Our trek today took us around Port Pirie following the "next closest" route plotted by the GPS. On our trek we found a variety of container types. We ended up finding 17 caches with 2 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
We found two containers and log-books at GZ. We signed both. This is the log for the Sistema container. (See photo).
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

It has been a while since we have done some serious caching so we decided to head north with earthlight for a few days and meet up with The X Trailers in Port Augusta as they pass through there on their journey homeward bounds to QLD and cache along the way, we have set up camp in Pirie and plan on grabbing a few of the local caches around the area, a nice quick find for us. TFTC
Short drive into the wetland area, and fortunately the mud had solidified enough for the 4by. Quick find in an interesting location. Tftc
After steve010 & Ferret52 failed to locate cach , Checked and found it had been muggled ! Has been replaced with a small black Sistema container containing zip bag log sheet & pencil.
KarpyKarpyson and I embarked on a sweep of the Port Pirie region today. 30 caches in total for me. We watched tennis as we walked to and from GZ. KK found this one. TFTC Now time for lunch!
Monday morning today. We are from Mount Gambier, South Australia. Up this way as we surprised Geodad yesterday for our One Year Anniversary together which is on Thursday but I will be back home for work. Geodad had left early this morning for work so it was a day touring the area caching while waiting for him to finish work. Quick & easy find. This was our 10th find for the day. TFTC
Noticed the log by The Noodler that the Cach was missing, Have replaced it with new log book & pencil in zip bag its all go again !
The Noodler went looking, but sadly I believe it has been muggled. Found bits of torn up log book from the cache, but nothing else.
The tennis courts were a hive of activity this morning as I strolled past and into the wetlands
Out in the wetlands I soon found me a cache

Day 10 of our Oz Mega 2014 Event trip. We have been clocking up lots of kilometres and lots of caches (not able to log them until I get home, and can see it is going to be a mammoth job when I do get around to it - oh well, the price of having so much fun now!!)
Arrived in Port Pirie late yesterday afternoon and pitched our tents before heading out for some tea and a few caches in the dark. Wasn't until this morning that we could check out what the place really looked like. Lots of history around here. Would like to come back some time and check it out a bit more.

Probably a nice easy cache to find, in the dry. With todays rain, each step towards GZ saw me grow in height by a few mm. Scraping the accumulated mud off my boots once back at the car was a task in itself.
