This place sure gets a lot of visitors.
About 4 4WD loads of people came past just as I was nearby.

Stayed on after the Mega event and decided to have pancakes for lunch at the nearby establishment. On my way out my batteries in the GPS died before I got out of the car but I didn't need the GPS as I had spotted the cache from the car. SL #1908 on streak day #1006 TFTC

MEGA was on so decided it might be a good idea to find some caches. "Some" ended up turning into a few hundred... the most exhausting experience.

Started in the city and pooh corner, ended up leaving a little late for Stanthorpe. Fun weekend, managed to get pushed into swimming across water a few times and finishing off some rum.

We found this cache while over in Stanthorpe for the Aussie mega. A super wonderful time, and super wonderful caches!! Thanks to all the COs, and event organisers! We had a blast!!

Fourth day. Met up here with mum, and both my brothers - we're not often all together these days! And went crazy caching!!

Found this one with a wee bit of time to go before leaving stanthorpe.

We signed almost every log as 'Team Polak' which consists of hinemoana, sonia26642, /dev/gc0c, and tunfisk - to save time, our hands from overuse, and the logsheets

Bit of a sad day today, being the last day of the Queensland 2015 Mega Event. Many cachers are already packing up and heading home. Not us though - we have another day to fill in, hoping to find as many of the unfound caches around the Stanthorpe area as we can. Couldn't leave this one behind. Thanks for the smiley Geo Who

Found whilst attending Easter Mega at Stanthorpe Qld. Rain had stopped and the fog lifted to reveal a beautiful sunny day perfect for resuming my hunt for another cache in the area. Just had to stop for some strawberry ice cream. SL.TFTC!

Our last day in Stanthorpe was made of a fairly random selection, doing some in the morning along the upper reaches of Quart Pot Creek, then we returned to the Showgrounds to pack up our little van. After lunch we went out Nundubbermere Road to the falls, and cached our way back to town, getting a few last ones in the outskirts.
This one cost me dearly. Did some strawberry picking, Pam had an ice cream, I had a smoothy, and there were other purchases made here too,

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.

Day ten and the day of the actual Mega had arrived. There were a few events to get to but otherwise it was another day of caching on the local Stanthorpe area getting the final apple caches and anything else we had not yet done yet. Happily the weather had come good for the day. Thanks.

A great days caching and road trip at the Oz Mega 2015 with Taurus1955 and Misschief18. Lots of experiences and adventures we had lots of laughs along our travels some where I walked right to the cache and others where I needed to hunt around a bit. I have enjoyed the various challenges set by the CO's and the fact that I get to cache with friends and am outside in the great outdoors.

I found this cache while visiting Australia from New Zealand and while staying in Stanthorpe for several days for the 2015 Mega Event. Today I joined forces with fellow kiwis Vamber and Yorkshirekiwi83 (signing our logs as "VYV" to save time and log space) for another day of caching around Stanthorpe. This was a nice quick find while driving around this morning. TFTC!

10 in a day was my caching priority for the day. The day had begun before sunrise with a mega attendance heading south from Stanthorpe for a multi, a letterbox, a trad, and then back into town for a lab cache and a puzzle before breakfast. During the day there was a CITO, an Earthcache and an event plus a beautiful lunch at the TAFE college overlooking their vineyard and lake with the town beyond that. Then there was the flashmob event and that left about 2 hours to find the wherigo cache before heading down to pyramid road for dinner and a concert. Tough day but some-one has to do it.

And then there were a dozen or so other caches along the way and this was one of them. Enjoying the sunshine today.

Vamber, myself and Vistra (signing as VYV) knew we had to make an early start today, we had a couple of goals, to get the 10 caches types in a day for Vamber, to finish the apple series, to attend some sessions at Mega GZ and my own private one was to get 35 caches to make the Mega itself my 7500th.

Just happened to use this road as a turn around point and made a quick grab for the cache. TFTC

Found while we were out caching today while at the mega event for the weekend. This is a great area to explore. TFTC.

Ususally if you find a cache and meet another geocacher, it really stands out. We did meet another one at this cache today but now it is almost unusal to not meet anyone at a cache.

We were told the ice cream here was a must, so off we headed and located the cache after enjoying the ice cream and purchasing some strawberries.

Day Four of the QLD Mega saw us tackling the 10 different cache types in one day, accompanyed with yorkshirekiwi83 and vistra. Found this one enroute to picking up some of the necessary caches that we needed to complete our challenge. Thanks for the cache!

Out and about grabbing some caches while attending the QLD MEGA at Stanthorpe. We managed to find a variety of caches in some very interesting locations, this was one of them.

The strawberry were yum!!!

Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

On a geocaching trip with tmann421 with the focus being the MEGA at Stanthorpe. A fantastic trip away seeing a part of the country I had not been to before, collecting caches along the way. Stamped the logs with t&J or our names. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable trip.

A great days caching on a road trip toward Oz Mega 2015 with Team Crackers and The Coffees. Day 2 - Rainy days keep the muggles away

The rain had stopped for a bit so we reverted to the original plan of visiting some of the local farms and checking out the produce. My wife and son were keen to pick some strawberries so off we went.

We picked about a kilo of strawberries and took them inside to be weighed and paid for. My son put a bit of a dent in the collection before we left and the rest would be consumed over the next few days.

A quick find on the way out gave us another smiley.

Weather or not! We thought it was a good idea to list caching with Alansee, on the agenda for today. Finding caches was interspersed at regular intervals with stops for strawberries, cheese, wine and cider; which proved to be a great way to dodge a few heavy showers of rain as well as satisfy our hunger for caches.
Alansee & P-P couldn't resist the sweet treats here!

It was supposed to be a day up at Bald Rocks National Park today but the rain has put a hold on that plan. Luckily I had a few caches close by to do. Managed to grab this without getting too wet.

A kilo for strawberries for $8, and chocolate dipping sauce for $5 - sold! Enjoyed telling the person behind the counter about geocaching, then saw one on the way out!

I don't think I've ever seen such a large area of strawberry fields before. I was quite overwhelmed at the thought of how labour intensive it must be. And how do they stop the snails eating them? TFTC Geo Who

Another "ordinary" cache in amongst all the apples and elementaries. Pretty name for the cache too. thank you for leaving this one for us to add to our numbers in Stanthorpe.

Visiting QLD from Central Coast NSW, and attending the Stanthorpe MEGA EVENT for about a week. Camping at the showground, caching days done mainly with SpikeyMikey, meeting up with members of CCG, HAVOC, and others from all over Australia.
Many thanks to all responsible for a smooth operating event, my first Mega, and first visit to Stanthorpe. Plenty of reasons for a near future visit
Whilest it did rain and drizzle almost every day, I much preferred this over hot days, which is what I encounted on the Gold Coast return journey, as well as a repeated bout of coughing with the flu on the long drive home.

We met Bristracker and Karenhippo at this one, we were running out of time and I wanted to make it to 50 finds in a day, (which I think we did!).
Whint made the reach for it and we all signed the log.

**this is a late log** I have recently made a major upgrade to my GSAK license and found this lovely feature that automatically tells me what caches I have marked found in GSAK but never logged on geocaching.com!! Yay, Clyde, you can have my money anytime! So, I attended the Stanthorpe mega at the request of several members of the organsing team. Having been to every event designated "Mega" in Australia up to this time I almost felt an obligation to oblige. I knew I would have fun catching up with the many friends I've made Australia-wide and that caching would be done -- and done it was! These are the finds I made while in the area and I enjoyed all of them despite the rainy and a tad cold weather. I cached with Uni, Shonky, and SX as well as Moneydork throughout the weekend. Thanks to all who placed caches in the region, they were all enjoyable.
