Out with B12 and Larry.

Keego_and_Chil We found your cache AP 140 - Helmsman Hans Guass thanks for placing this cache for myself and others to find.

24-May-18
A huge day out with Barnzy12 & Cravo10 scoring smiles along Allied Prankster's Devil series and nearby.
Headed out from Booragoon 9am, stopping in Treeby to collect couple high terrain GA caches requiring use of ladder. We then drove through Byford, toward Wungong Dam, and began our hike from top of the hill, heading west, ending at South Western Highway.
A huge day out, with some serious terrain covered during lovely weather. Some of the terrain was rough on the ol' ankles & knees, traversing rocks (cue "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister), one small river to cross; and my trusty old boots finally giving up with rubber soles falling apart!!
Huge thanks to AP & the other CO's for the great day of caching, nice views, and keeping us fit.

A huge day out of caching chasing down the Allied Prankster Devils Series near Armadale with Lazarus68 and Cravo10.

We met at Booragoon at 9am, before collecting some high terrain GCA caches around Treeby that required the use of a ladder.

We then drove down towards Armadale/Byford area, where we dropped a car at the finish of the trail and then drive to the top of the hill to complete the walk down the hill towards south western highway.

A huge day out, with some serious terrain covered and a lovely day for it. Some of the terrain is a pretty rough on the ankles and knees with the loose rocks underfoot but nothing too unmanageable.

A huge thanks to the COs for a great days caching, with some good DT ratings. Thanks

Quick find. After reading logs in prep of find, I brought some tools. After getting to GZ looks like the camp had been busted. Was easy retrieval. CO might need to make repairs. TFTH

Came out here with WebblyWA who had visited GZ on a previous occasion. Today I thought that I might just have something in my bag of tricks that would do the trick. Almost....but not quite. Some ingenious thinking and a solution was found so with minor adaptations to my gadget we reached our goal. most of the camoflague has come off but it is still a good cache to do & worth a favourite point. Such a shame Keego and Chil stopped caching before I started. They have some really good hides out there & I would liked to have met them. TFTC

I had been to GZ before, I found what I was looking for but couldn't extract the cache. This made me all the more determined to return. So today I brought PP2 along with me who had the right tool, or so I thought. But alas it was still eluding us. So with a few adjustments we fashioned a 'tool attachment' that allowed us to finally extract this elusive log. With our names added I can finally cross this little beauty off my list and award it a fav point. Its a good one pity it doesn't get many finds. TFTC Keego and Chil

I returned here today on my way home after some D5 caching further south. This is my third trip here - each time I have found the cache though not touched or signed it, hence no DNF's Wink . Today was different. I tried using what was on site to no avail, but I recently cleaned out Dad's shed and some 'stuff' ended up in the back of the car immediately. I had been planning using something completely different but it was not needed after today's success. My name is on the log Smile and a favourite point from me for everyone's efforts. Thanks to Keego and Chil for the cache .

Yeah! - I'll try again another day coz I'm determined to give this one a favourite point Wink

We were going to bypass this cache for a cooler day thinking it was going to be a long walk through the bush. However on the road out we spotted a track so we drove down it with iluvtrekking & JacobsCrew2 to find it delivered us within 60 mts of gz. Thanks K & C

Loved this cache which we found with richlink and JacobsCrew. I took a bit of work to retrieve it though. Thanks K&C

Coming up on 600 finds I had earmarked the nearby multi AP 142 - 3rd Mate Frag Rance for the milestone. I needed eight smileys before attempting the magic number so with Me&B tagging along as well as our geohounds we went for a stroll in the woods.

Well with a failure at the milestone attempt Me&B suggested we head over and grab the two across the road, they will be memorable she says, and she wasn't wrong.

Got to this one and my companion just stood back and watched with a type evil grin on her face. I looked, prodded, felt and got the first bit done, but still no cache. After a bit huffing and sucking I had a little haha! moment and the cache was in hand.

Another clever idea and another favourite.

This took us ages to work out even after reading the previous logs, we decided to widen the search to see if we could find something to help. Then all of a sudden it clicked and with log was signed. Thanks Keego and Chill for a great cache a well deserved favourite from us.

After my Devils adventure with Jinta29 and Kyzabra, we drove back up the hill and parted company as J & K both had to head home ... however, I'm a free agent this weekend, so I decided to hang around Prankster Land to tie up a few loose ends, this being one of them.

Strangely, on arrival at GZ, I was absolutely certain that I had found this cache last time I was here, but my DNF log indicates otherwise ... everything about the cache seemed familiar. I retrieved the cache with a feeling of deja vu and checked the log, but my name wasn't there ... it is now.

I notice that the log was replaced after my last visit. It would be interesting to know if my name was in the orignal log.

SL. Thanks for the cache Keego and Chil

A day of caching with Jasenjanine today. Both of us on a time frame with geo-kids to pick up from school.
We decided this series had our name all over it.The forecast said 37 degrees and we didnt get here til about 11.00. But you only live once so here we go.

Last one for the day, having found Ensign O'Toole, we continued up the path to this one.

A quick find, but a difficult retrieval. More so by the fact that the tool just didnt want to play fair Sad
I have seen this type before so knew what to do. But this is probably the biggest one, and took more patience. It scurried back a few times before I managed to work with Janine to make the grab. Reminded me of those old tests of steadiness where you used to run a loop of wire around a metal shape and if you touched it, you got zapped......hmmm, sounds like an idea for a cache Smile

Anyhow, log extracted, signed and replaced.

Thanks for another good hide Keego & Chill, we will return for more Smile

Headed out with Kyzabra today & after accomplishing our mission we had time to find a few more caches in Prankster Land... After helping Ensign with some missing gear, we thought we may as well go see what this Helmsman fella was about too Smile Quickly his momento was found, although it took a bit of time to extract the information within! Luckily Kyzabra was very patient... Myself, I was all out of patience & could only sit back & watch Razz

TFTC Keego_and_Chil... A nice cache to end the day on, I have not seen this type as large as this before! Great cache to add our name too Cool Now gotta go get the kids or I will never hear the end of it! See you next time Pranksters [^]

Through the bush from AP139 this was a nice easy find. However; it took me quite some to extract the cache Surprised. After a couple of fumbling minutes is oon had the log signed. Another well constructed cache and a favourite from us. TFTC Keego and Chil

Took an afternoon drive in the hills, to check out some local caches.
Found a good variety, all well hidden.
Thanks for the cache, Keego_and_Chil.

Took little B up the hill for an hour today on a beautiful spring weather Saturday morning to find a couple of caches. Had a go at this when it came first out but for various reasons didnt manage to retrieve the log then...quick one today thank god because the mossies smelled fresh blood!
This deserves a favorite point.

Did some maintenance on this one, I have drilled some holes to drain the water out of the container. There is no need to use water at this cache. We have replaced the log with a Rite in th Rain one.

After two DNFs and 3 hours into my caching run, I parked the geoCamry 120 metres from GZ, and walked in the rest of the way, expecting to have the cache in hand within a matter of minutes. Wrong!!! Spent a good half hour. No joy. Still hoping I'd have time to do the stuff I wanted to do in Serpentine National Park. Thanks for the cache Keego and Chil. I will be back.

I set out this morning for a big day of caching. I had a target list of 57 caches and had a route planned of around 16km as the crow flies. After 6.5 hours I had found 55 caches, had DNF's on two and had covered a distance of around 20.5km. The day got off to a shaky start when I found I didn't have the cache details in my GPS. Thankfully I had the locations as a route so knew where to go, I just didn't have the details about each cache. This made things interesting later in the day. Somewhere along the way I picked up my 2000th GC.com geocache.

A nicely built cache but the container containing the bison was full of water. The log was ok, ok that is until I tried to sign it in the rain. Hopefully it didn't get too wet. TFTC.

[:(!] Went for a caching run after lunch, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked the rest of the way, on arrival at GZ and within minutes I had the cache in hand.

Having rehydrated from a six hour battle the other side of Admiral Road we decided to try for just a few more. We were so pleased with that decision. This side is full of great FUN caches. WE located what turned out to be a decoy? What to do now? Extra searching around GZ for a clue proved fruitless. Once we recovered from a blinding flash of brillance the cache was quickly recovered, signed and carefully returned whence it came. First of this type we have seen. Hope that it not the last. Great job Keego_and_Chil look for our name on the fav list.

Back up this hill, yet again, hoping to find the last four currently up here. Gobuddy was flummozed by this one, and was dumbstruck by how deftly I located and extracted the log. Amazing what a gentle kiss can do!! Fantastic hide. Thanks Keego and Chil

After walking down from O Toole I came apon this strange device, after examination and a bit of fiddling around I determined I needed two more items to pack into my kit. Being stuck out in the bush I was not driving home to get them so I played around with it and determined there was a way to log this cache after trying a couple of things no luck. A walk back to the car to check if I had anything suitable, no luck.
Determined not to have to come back and nearly a hour later I was able to sign the log.
There is only one way this goes back and unfortunatly it was putback the wrong way.

Ahoy me hearties, I has sent have sent our resident Tattooist, Ensign Inkman to hopefully remedy this malady, well done to AK for solving this one the hard way.

A quick walk down from Ensign O'Toole had us discovering this cache quite fast......That was the easy part, how to extract to sign log proved to be very tricky indeed. A couple of times we thought it may have been a decoy so searching other possibilities.
We took turns at sucking, blowing and trying to look to see if there really was something inside. Just about to search elsewhere again when a thought struck me. What if this................... ohhhhhhhhhh YES!!! That is the scientific part and it worked a treat. Soon had the log signed and replaced safely waiting for the next sucker...errr I mean cacher.....hehehe. Good Luck!!

Another cache worthy of a favourite point...........Thanks again Keego and Chil......Brilliant!

Since the geo hubby was home i thought it was time to tackle the rest of the byford hill caches. We picked up skippy 46 on the way and made an early start before it got to warm. We put on heaps of bushmans spray so we are hoping not to bring any ticks home with us this time, but we will see. Im changing this to we have TICKS.... Skippy 46 just rang to say shes has a tick so i told geohubby to check me. These have to be the biggest ticks i have ever seen......This was an easy cache to find but took a while to work out how to get it out. Great cache another favorite point tFTC

After previous cache, we knew we were in for something different....luckily had seen a similair one previously, so we soon had cache in hand.....nicely done!...thanks Keego_and_Chil

Fortunately I've visited The Machman land so I appreciated what was required to access the cache. Fine construction; the retrievel process worked well. Thanks for the cache K&C. Still no sign of the megabison dinosaur and the multiple ticks I picked up while in the area will sadly prevent me from hunting it down; my city blood seems to attract them from afar.

Arrived early for a second look, could see it but still couldn't retrieve. Went away and then met up with CO and shortcuthicksy and retrieved. Easy when you know how. TF this very clever hide. I love it. A definate favorite from me. Keep them coming Keego.

On the way home from the SWH... series I made a small detour to pickup three new caches in the bush, my favourite location. I had just parked and Keego drove in to lend a helping hand to trevkevred who was lost in the bush. No need for a GPSr the sound of barking dogs lead us to the cache. An easy find but extracting the log was a little tricker.

There is no need for any force only a little gentle bit of science.

Thanks Keego and Chil.

*FTF* around 1305 hours.

The caches in this area were the ones that I was actually going to do today before the SWH series was published early this morning.

I parked on the road to the north of the previous cache and walked a circuit around the 4 unfound traditional caches.

No problems finding the cache once at GZ and I turned the "NO" to a "FIND" without problems.

Thanks Keego and Chil for the cache.

Caching with Me&B and the 3 geodogs. Not admitting to a DNF cos we did find but couldn't retrieve, we were hoping this would have been our 3rd FTF for the day but NO, CO will understand my capital NO. We will be back. This had us laughing and very original, not sure how you come up with these ideas, you never fail to amaze us.
