OriojnJ and I next made our way to this cache. Hmmm.....I had a couple of ideas as to what we might be looking for. We began our search. Then searched some more....and some more. No luck. I told OrionJ my other idea. He thought it was good. So a slightly more methodical search ensued. It then wasnt long before OrionJ had the cache in hand. Our names were added to the log before we returned the container to the spot where it was found and we made our way back to the cars. I have enjoyed today s caches a lot. Will have to come back to this side of town more often Smile

03-Oct-15
Last stop along the path today and this turned out to be a much longer search then we would have liked. However but for a little luck could have been a much longer search. We soon had the log out once we found the cache and names were added before we replaced and headed back for the cars.

I gave this up and a bad joke. Almost the straw that broke K.B.'s back. After an enjoyable couple of hours this morning, things went pear shaped in a big way this afternoon - caching can be like that but it doesn't stop the frustration. I had assumed this was a generic fake rock but reading past logs, sound home made. Either way, I surrendered.

08-Jul-15
I put about 15mibs into this one to leave some light for the next and no luck here. I'll be back

23-May-15
We haven't been here for a year but its always on your mind.... well today we got it.

23-May-15
Second time lucky. After finding a similar one it was easier to find.

12-Apr-15
Very sneaky one. Council has slashed all the weeds & grass - much more pleasant searching.
Was sprung by muggle boy walking dog. He gave me a strange look & hurried off.

Thanks for the hint AOH. Easy once you know where to look Smile

02-Feb-15
I came here in November 2014 but could not find it. Today while my kids were at their first dance lesson for this year, and with a hint from a friend, I decided to have another look. It was overgrown last year. Now it is really overgrown. I'm glad I had brought gloves today. I searched and searched and yay I found it! The hint definitely helped or I would have been there for ages....again! The log is damp but ok. TFTC old hag! Glad to finally have a smilie for this one!

29-Nov-14
Gave up after 2nd attempt. All the rocks had been disturbed & weeds everywhere after recent rain

25-Aug-14
Will look again

21-Aug-14
Second stop for the day, checking out the Goodna bikeway series. Nice wander along the lovely wide path, after a quick hello to the council worker at the start of the path. Luckily, by the time I got to GZ, I was not really visible to him. Tried to search GZ methodically, tried to think how a CO might place something (after all, they've got to find it when they come back too!), tried to match it up in my head to other finds I've had at similar GZ-type areas. All to no avail, unfortunately.

I did however find the canetoad found by a previous cacher…. very much alive and not a cache hiding spot!

16-Aug-14
Haha. A real hard one!

01-Aug-14
After dehydration in the 30 degree heat, a twisted ankle and crushed finger, I gave up. Reluctant to come back.

22-Jul-14
Found!

08-Jun-14
After all the DNF's I thought that I had better check on this cache when I finished work this arvo, and I am pleased to say that it is still in the original place that I put it Big Grin the cache maker is also pleased that he doesn't have to make me a new cache.

No cache creep and no muggles, just a cache sitting there waiting for you to turn it over and sign the log. When you find the camo you will definitely know that you have found the cache.

07-Jun-14
We were here for over an hour turned every rock couldn't find it. Its almost dark gona go sad face

07-Jun-14
Sad looked for about an hour turned every rock to no avail. No one has found it for seven months so I'm putting this down as a no go.

11-May-14
I was happily searching through rocks for this one until I found snake about 60cm from me. Unless the cache looks like very realistic reptile I will give this one a miss for the day.

12-Feb-14
"If you have found a few caches, you will recognise this type of hide."

While the above statement all but gave away what kind of hide this would be, I was still unable to locate the cache. I spent a good amount of time meandering around GZ looking for something that wasn't there, but ended up searching almost all of there without luck.

10-Jan-14
This one eludes me been back twice and cannot find it will put this one down as a lost cause

06-Nov-13
TFTC found with Hilda and Jasper

26-Oct-13
Thank God!
I spent a fruitless hour searching here one night a few months ago, and decided to try again another day. I knew it would take some time to find it, and today offered that time for me and KJMJTJ. We attacked it systematically, and also with random abandon, without luck. I tried to PAF, but found with a recent server change at work, all my geo buddy numbers have been lost. I was ready to give up, but KJ said no. I looked a little further, and was lucky to pick the right one, and look at it the right way. PHEW! I would increase the difficulty rating if this were my hide. It was tough.

26-Oct-13
Extra hands should make lite work, however if one is not careful it is easy to miss and then it goes on and on and on. TFTC

11-Sep-13
Feel like I have rocks in my head. Took a while to find this one. Looks like others have had trouble too, judging by the scratching around a light post and fence. Log book dampish probably from the runoff from the water truck maintaining the abundant native plantings along the path.

30-Aug-13
Out on a Freaky Friday With IolantheK. Plenty of time to hunt for tricky caches today. A faorly methodical search eventually turned up the well concealed container Smile

30-Aug-13
Out and about on yet another Freaky Friday with teamdfl. This one took quite a while to find, after a lot of looking at the wrong things Sad Glad it became a smilie TFTC, an old hag.

Spent enough time as my patience allowed (not much). Found 3 toads though, yuk! Not to be found today Sad

13-May-13
On the first time I visited here I quickly decided that the cache was hiding in the rocks, so I started at one end and began my search. Very shortly into my search I lifted a rock to reveal a large toad. The toad didnt move, and I thought (and secrectly hoped), that surely this wasnt the cache. I inspected the toad as close as I felt I could go. It was not moving, not blinking, not breathing, nothing. I should mention that I HATE toads! I replaced the rock not being able to come to terms with the fact that I may have to touch this "fake" toad. I continued my search empty handed, whilst playing at the back of my mind is the fact that the Toad is in fact the cache. Afterall, it wouldnt be beyond the Old Hag to craft a hide like that. Several times I went back to the toad, still no movement. I poked it with a stick, nothing. I threw gravel at it, nothing. I dropped rocks of various sizes on it, still nothing. So here I was, nearly 45minutes had passed, I had found no other cache, and I was psyching myself up to touch the toad cache. After a case of goosebumps, several deep breathes, and a little prayer, I bend down reaching bravely out to the grab the cache......I was literally centimetres away when the darn thing hopped away!!!! So I screamed, aborted my search and ran back to the car nearly in tears! So now you can all laugh at me!!!

On my second visit, I took backup in the form of Elise-curling. After my scarring first visit Elise was kind enough not to laugh (well not too much) at me as we began our search. I moved a very large rock out of the way, very cautiously mind you (who knows what was lurking beneath), and low and behold, in the second place I look I find the cache.

Thankyou Old Hag for another fantastic caching experience, one that I'm sure I'll remember for a long time!!!!

13-May-13
Found in the second place we looked after misssusan spent an hour or so looking on another day, today it was found in minutes, we are just like "ohhhh can't believe that!"

21-Mar-13
Decided I needed to set a time limit on hunts today if I was going to acheive my goal. I almost rode by this one, but stopped for a quick look. I did not have the time to search properly, and luck was not on my side today. I will be back Smile

This cache was next up on the list today, and after a nice walk out to GZ, the hunt began. Thankfully started at one end, and within no time at all, the cache was spotted Big Grin

Out with Nurseyjulie today and this was on the "to do" list.

I have seen a few of these natural camos before Wink including one in a forest that is completely concealed.

We started on both sides where the gpsrs told us to look and progressively widened our search. NJ located the cache about 5m out from the coords.

It sure was hot with the sun reflecting off those rocks and they were not much fun to touch! I'd recommend doing this one earlier in the day before the beasties have time to absorb the heat.

A fun hide!

Finally - #400 - out with LAnniebug today to try and find a few nemises of mine. Checked out previous logs, decided to delve again into them there rocks. What I found wasnt what I was originally looking for - bearing in mind previous hides AOH had placed, this one wasnt as man made! TFTC

15-Jan-13
As I approached this one alarm bells rang. I could be here a while I thought. I took a punt and started at one end which luckily paid off and I had the cache in hamd in the 3rd place I looked. A well constructed cache. TFTC

03-Jan-13
A nice quick find as it turned out. I got lucky and received a call form the CO as I was still approaching. Having detailed the torture I had gone through at the previous cache, she must have felt sorry for me and told me where I should focus for this one... Huh...[?] Sure I said gladly... Anything to limit my time in the sun today... Big Grin

A nice hide, I bet the equipment to assemble this one was not cheap... Wink

Cheers Old Hag.

06-Dec-12
Got an idea of what I was looking for but spent far to long dithering and scanning and it was too hot. It didnt help that there was a tractor mowing on the other side of the fence. Sad

14-Nov-12
I had some time after work today and hadn't been Caching for a week or so so I thought why not. I had done the other one along this track before this one was n place but its a nice walk so off I set. I had a feeling this might be a hiding in plain sight type and after a bit of searching I had it in hand. Another nice hide. TFTC.

11-Nov-12
After reading the description, I was pretty sure I knew what kind of hide you were talking about, but upon arrival, I found I was quite wrong. While Tinda12 biked on ahead, I began singing a little song as I set about the task... something like the first verse to "I fought the law, and the law won"...
It took me a little longer than it should have, but not too long. Another memorable one: thanks again AOH!

04-Nov-12
After about a 1/2hr searching and it starting to rain I phoned a friend who narrowed down my search area as I had GZ towards the other end of the drain.
Thanks for the cache.

03-Nov-12
I think I got lucky in my search for this one.

TFTC

what a great hide. would adjust one minor thing which I will discuss with the co.
thanks for another successful hide

24-Oct-12
Returned for another crack at this one. Gave myself a time limit of 30 minutes. Found at 29th minute. So with sore fingers signed the log. Thanks old hag.

20-Oct-12
Thought I'd catch this one this morning before it got too hot. Hard to use stealth in such an exposed area, however no one around when I got to GZ. Well, I began searching, and searching, GPS said I was standing on it! But , no luck. A few hardy souls on bikes started to fly past, so had to call it quits this time & will come back at a later and quieter time. TFTH old hag.

20-Oct-12
Found @ 6:55pm . Well done to the FTFs. Nice little hide. Thanks An Old Hag

Rocked up to GZ at about lunchtime to see Goldielover deep in the search. Although both our devices agreed on GZ i was adamant as to what it wouldnt be given the difficulty rating but goldielover rightly pointed out there wasnt much else. While i checked everything else apart from the obvious i began to wonder if she had to be right. Anyway I had towed/carried my little two out to the area and in hindsight they were too tired and hot so we didnt get to stay for long and I towed/carried them back again. Gee i hated walking away from a FTF! Anyway while i was out and about i was reading the cache page again and suddenly had a lightbulb moment and so a couple of hours later found myself back at GZ. But it seems like i had been getting confused with another cache as when i arrived at GZ there was no light socket to plug my light bulb into LOL! Anyway, still struggling to walk away i spent a bit of time going over the same ground I knew Goldielover had already covered but i couldnt help myself before putting my tail between my legs and heading home! We all know i wil be back anyway!
