This morning we headed down the Nile to collect a few caches. It was a lovely country drive our favourite sort of Geocaching. All caches were found easily and in great condition. Interesting little chapel surprised to see some very recent graves here. TFTC Tassie Trekkers
TFTC. Cache and contents are in excellent shape. Such a fascinating spot never would have known.
TFTC. Left some swag. Notice that John Glover the artist is buried here, guessing in connection with the glover art competition that occurs each year.
A quaint little church in the country with some interesting grave stones and a cache

Well we are wending our way home after a three day sabatical at Scamander with family. Weather has been kind, even on top of South Sister where the views are fantastic and the bonus was a couple of caches. So now we are taking the scenic route back to the north west via Mathinna, Blessington and Deddington on a bit of a geo trail. Nice to come across the burial place of John Glover, whose art works one can appreciate in our TMAG's (Hobart, Launceston) and many other places, but not our house ! Also recently enjoyed seeing footage and reading about the restoration of his former residence and gardens. All in good nick at GZ. TFTC TT's
Interesting history re John Glover especially after seeing his sculpture at Evandale. TFTC
Great hide. Nearly missed it . Thank you for the cache from GeoMaggie and her sidekick Bonnie.
Lonely piece of history. Had a good lingering look around all the gravestones and headstones. Amazing place where the Glovers are laid to rest. Cache all good. No problems there. Thank you for bringing us to this piece of Tasmania's past.
Thanks for the cache Tassie Trekkers.
Today was day 1 of a quick trip up north with RLD4963. As the weather was looking good we decided we would head to Ben Lomond and this cache was on the way. Great spot for a cache. Took port power tb

Just realised that if we can find just a few more caches before the new year that 2019 will be our best caching year so far so out and about to find some more before the deadline. A quick find with the aid of accurate coordinates and the hint. Took a minute to read the plaque by John Glover grave site. TFTC
Hi Tassie Trekkers, thanks for this cache, here in Deddington. I remember when I was at TCAE at Newnham, a busload of egotistical students tried to drink the Deddington Club dry. We failed, as did all the other attempts by various groups in the 70s. I'm not even sure now, exactly where the building was!
It was nice to be able to stop at the Chapel today, as this was one of the caches we drove past on a previous trip, as we needed to abort that day, and return to Hobart due to an unfolding and uncertain medical drama (turned out to be a false alarm, thankfully)
Today, this one was found with and by AlbyDangles, the last of yours today, and the 2nd last of our drive-by/park'n'grab finds. Thanks for all your caches in this area.
Was up this way today on a control point for Tassie's round of the Australian Rally Championship, with AlbyDangles and (his) AmazingDaughter.
A great day with great company, a nice fire, excellent food cooked on the nice fire, good mountain views, and some caching on the way home.

Hello Tassie Trekkers thank you for the cache.
We were on our way back from a car rally, so stopped off to find some of the caches that we didn't find on out last trip up here.
A quick find took TB.
A pity we didn't have more time to look around.

I had been meaning to get out this way as I wanted to have a look at John Glover's grave, so with an afternoon to spare I decided to do some geocaching around the area and this was one of the final ones for the day. TFTC.
Beautiful day and decided to stop after having driven past in the dark many times before. Left a TB for something a little different
I never knew Glover was placed here. Cache is all good.
Another good day out in the 4wd for a morning adventure around deddington. I have ridden the road bike along the gravel road over to blessington but have never been way up the back on the gravel road. Some pretty specky spots.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Hi there Tassie Trekkers.
We found your cache **"The Nile Chapel"** at 1:54:00 PM today. (This brings our total find count to 18533).
The original plan today was to log a random cache some distance from our camp site, and then find a few more caches using the "next closest" method. We then logged "Ben & Back" & thought why not - we will do that instead - - and we had a great day!
We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey & found 15 caches (& DNF'd 0).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

With a few hours to fill in before picking up 1TOOLMAN from Launceston Airport the egg and I decided to do a loop out this way, giving ourselves a coupe of different options to get back depending on how time went. I made a quick offline list as these caches were not in the real GPS because they were spontaneous. We parked across the road and walked up the grassy driveway. After having a look at some of the graves I went and grabbed the cache. I got muggled big time but I swore the muggle to secrecy. I'm pretty sure the secret is safe.
What a cute chapel and charming little 'town'. Thanks for the nice stop Tassie Trekkers

Out for a bit of a ride and to explore the area. No problem in finding the cache. Just got it back into its hiding place when a couple of muggles turned up. Had a bit of a chat with them and found out at this moment John Glover's old house is open for viewing. So that was my next stop. TFTC Dooghan
Our third find for the day. An interesting location with some special history.

It started to rain so I was made to get out of the bus. I did not melt. As I cached the cache, Wacky managed a 7 point turn. The bull bar opened the gate to my surprise. Having a chrome bar (as apposed to a powdered one) has its advantages.
Thanks to Tassie Trekkers and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

After being down in Tassy for the week, I was heading back to the Airport to fly home. Wanted to get another couple of caches, so drove on a little detour to grab them. Was running low on fuel and with no reception couldn't work out where the nearest petrol station was. Drove to GZ and made the find. Quick simple cache. SL and replaced. TFTC.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
We missed visiting Ben Lomond when in this area last year so it was on the list before we board the ferry back to the North Island.
Beautiful weather for enjoying the drive in the countryside today.

Quick easy find, wow this a quiet little place TFTC
We've now only got five weeks left of our six month stay (til the end of March '16) from the Kurrajong area, (Blue Mountains) NW of Sydney, to tour in the caravan and also visit our kids and grandkids in the Huon Valley On four previous visits before this visit, we were muggles, so we're having fun finding the caches we didn't even know were here!

A very modest memorial to the great artist and kin. Said hello to an echidna foraging beside a nearby polished slab. A nice easy find in another lesser known spot in Tasmania.. thanks.,!!
Out and about on a cache hunting mission this afternoon.. Quickly found the cache

We had already travelled through the Deddington and Blessington areas once before and thought at the time that we most likely wouldn’t come through here again but here we are today geocaching in these lovely rural districts. We did visit John Glover’s resting place on our first trip here but it is great to remember the famous artist. Thank you for the cache.
Beautiful day to find a geocache thanks tassie trekkers ... wow!! And we even know you !!!!! ☆☆☆
TFTC thanks for bringing us here

Stoked to find a reason to visit the final resting place of our absolute favouritest ever painter. And nab a cache into the bargain. Though we could hardly avoid that as geotrail led us straight there (serenaded by neighbour's dog). A little miffed we didn't spot some of those curly wurly twisty gum trees he's famous for painting.
Thanks for the cache. This was a fantastic adventure coming out here. Signed log, left swap.
A quick easy find which was watched carefully by the 2 large dogs next door and horses from both sides of the road.
Nice to see the final resting place of one of Australia's famous artists. Have done the cache in his honour near his statue in Evandale.
We also know a John Glover but he is neither famous or dead!
Thanks.

Thankyou for bringing me here to pay my respects to this great artist, and terribly iconic part of the Tasmanian history as well as it's landscape.
Pwd84 and myself keen to discover this place, we soon spotted a friendly goat on our approach at dusk-around 1900hrs grazing the neighbouring front 'garden.'
We pull up the car no probs-muggles close, but either oblivious or careless-our presence was only an issue when the opposite side property's loud and fast moving Viszla's blew all our stealth! So, on like guffawing "Tourist's" we marched up the through the gate, only to be followed by those noisy Muggle-mutts the way round to Glover himself. Waited for a local muggle with wood splitting duties to clear off and swooped!
Left swaps, took nothing. Too much of a pleasure to sign this one and log it in as FOUND!!
If i had a favourite point to give....this would be a recipient for sure.

This was my first cache find today. You can see that there is a lot of history to the area even though it's a bit of a ghost town now. The chapel looked unappealing to me from the road, but looking through the windows it was really quite charming. And Glover is buried here? How kind of, odd! Thakns for a most interesting glimpse of some history that I'd have otherwise not had a clue about.
Found with TassieGirl13 while down from Queensland on holidays.
We’re enjoying our tour through the countryside here on our way home after visiting Ben Lomond today.
An interesting spot for Tassiegirl as she’s an artist so she knew who John Glover was.
Me... Well I learnt today.
Great spot!!

Our trip around Tassie saw us in and around the beautiful area of Evandale, Longford and Perth. On a nice day we started early after staying at the free camp area in Evandale.
A nice easy find in a nice area. A quick scratch around had the cache in hand.
