Well we are wending our way home after a three day sabatical at Scamander with family. Weather has been kind, even on top of South Sister where the views are fantastic and the bonus was a couple of caches. So now we are taking the scenic route back to the north west via Mathinna, Blessington and Deddington on a bit of a geo trail. Took a bit of zoning in on this one, but got there in the end with no traffic to interrupt the search. Lid of container is cracked, probably damaged by having a stone dropped on it. Everthing very wet as a result. Put back upside down which might keep any more water out for the time being. TFTC TT's.

Thanks for the cache Tassie Trekkers.
Today was Day 1 of a short trip up north with RLD4963. As the weather was looking good we decided to make our way to Ben Lomond this afternoon. We found this cache on the way - RLD4963 made the find for this one and we soon added our names to the log. Thanks for placing the cache here - we enjoyed our drive around Deddington.

Wow, the water is so clear. Almost wanted to jump in. Clearly the water thinks getting into the cache is a good idea, as the log is wet. The lid is cracked too (I expect the rock has been dropped on it too many times).

Delightful river. Don’t fall in

12-Jul-20
The river was very full today. A clever hide. As I was typing in my coordinates for the next cache a local pulled up to offer help. He thinks geocaching sounds a bit weird and that a young lady shouldn’t be doing such things on her own.

After enjoying a nice early Father's Day lunch at Stonesthrow we decided to go for a bit drive so Team M could reminisce time spent in the area in his younger days. We stopped here and were lucky enough to get phone service. A short search and we had the CIH. SL TFTC Tassie Trekkers.

Hello Tassie Trekkers thank you for the cache anyway.

We were on our way back from a car rally, so stopped off to find some of the caches that we didn't find on out last trip up here.

After a bit of a search we gave up.
But now we worked out we were looking at the wrong hint, so I will have to come back for another look.

Didn't find on Saturday, 22 June 2019 at 1703

Sad

22-Jun-19
I think we just messed this one up, as I failed to double check the listing, hint, or previous logs.
We didn't use the correct hint and so probably missed the obvious. It was starting to get dark, and we thought we'd exhausted the likely hides. I'm feeling embarrassed!
It's hopefully still there, so we need to come back another day.
Not found today with AlbyDangles.
Thanks anyway!

I ended up looking in all the wrong places until I spied an oddly placed rock and soon had the cache in hand, signed and then on my way for some more adventuring. TFTC.

Nice spot next to the river, could of jumped in.

Another good day out in the 4wd for a morning adventure around deddington. I have ridden the road bike along the gravel road over to blessington but have never been way up the back on the gravel road. Some pretty specky spots.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Hi there Tassie Trekkers.

We found your cache **"Bridging The Nile"** at 1:27:00 PM today. (This brings our total find count to 18530).

The original plan today was to log a random cache some distance from our camp site, and then find a few more caches using the "next closest" method. We then logged "Ben & Back" & thought why not - we will do that instead - - and we had a great day! Wink

We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey & found 15 caches (& DNF'd 0).

###Thanks for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. Once upon a time caches seemed to be "regular" sized, and well stocked with goodies for kids to swap. Nowadays it seems like every other cache is small and devoid anything to induce children to enjoy the hunt. It made us feel really good to find this cache in a "special" place.###

Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

We had to wait for muggles to move on before we could search. They were stopped on the bridge. We then spent waaaaaaaaaaay too much time looking in all the wrong places over and over and over. it was frustrating but it was a nice area so we persevered and eventually I caught a glimpse of the container in a sneaky place exactly as the hint described. Thank goodness!

Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.

We missed visiting Ben Lomond when in this area last year so it was on the list before we board the ferry back to the North Island.

Beautiful weather for enjoying the drive in the countryside today.

Quick easy find, thanks for bringing us out here there's some lovely scenery along here. TFTC Smile

We've now only got five weeks left of our six month stay (til the end of March '16) from the Kurrajong area, (Blue Mountains) NW of Sydney, to tour in the caravan and also visit our kids and grandkids in the Huon Valley Smile On four previous visits before this visit, we were muggles, so we're having fun finding the caches we didn't even know were here! We stopped to look at the river before finding the cache and about ten four wheel drives with interstate regos crossed the bridge while we were standing there and everyone waved. You always seem to encounter friendly drivers when you are on country back roads. Thanks for the cache.

11-Jun-14
Found a number of Tassie Trekkers caches in these parts a while back. Taken us 18 months to get back for more. Plus we left it a bit late for an afternoon jaunt from L'ton so it's now starting to get dark. Will we make the distance back to Evandale? Could use a bit of that "dashboard light" from our previous find here. 'Tis a nice stream though, even in this failing light.

We’re enjoying our tour through the countryside here on our way home after visiting Ben Lomond today.
We couldn’t get over how clear the water was in this little creek.
If the water wasn’t so cold it would have been great to hop in.
