Disabling until further notice. Ah well, at least this means that the new bridge is being built.
Dan it! We came past this cache going towards Kelvin Heights, thinking of getting it on the way out after we had stayed there for a few days. On the way back, we stopped to find it, but only after we looked at the recent logs did we realised how unlucky we were :O Oh well...
Went to claim the cache this morning looks like it has well and truely been muggled (or just removed for bridge construction)
Last cache on our last day in Queenstown. This one had us stumped for a good 20mins! Very satisfying once we had cache in hand. Tftc
Perseverance is the word to remember here! Be systematic and methodical and you won't be hunting for twenty minutes like we were! We were glad to find this one - our last one in Queenstown! Managed to continue a relatively DNF free trip! TFTC!
So so so happy I found it! After hunting down and failing at two other caches in QT, finally I have had success! This did stump me for awhile and almost gave up but on my last go around, I saw it staring right at me. Yes!
This was a very cool little find! Being methodical was definitely essential! TFTC!!
The last time we visited New Zealand in 1998, we missed the Milford Sound because of lack of time.
Now, as W is working in Sydney and C is visiting him, it was very close by.
So we decided to turn her visit into a small New Zealand vacation.
And off course this can't be done without a few geocaches.
A few turned into about 150 of them.
We started in Queenstown, but this time no bungy jumping anymore.
At the airport we switched the gsm-card to a NZ one, with internet access.
That way we would be able to check for recent logs and spoiler photos.
After we got our rental car we started the gps.
We're not used to driving on the left side of the road, but that was no problem with all the road signs.
During our last visit it was summer, now it was autumn.
The weather looked more like home, but we had our umbrella and raincoat with us, which we used a lot.
At the Milford Sound the rain was an advantage, as the rainfalls were huge. Because we took an early flight, we could start our first day with a few caches.
This was the first one, a spot we never should have noticed without geocaching.
The turbine was old and not in use anymore, the location of the cache was obvious, so it didn't take us long to find it.
After a view on the lake we went on for the next one.
Thanks for the cache

Took far too long to find. As soon as I said 'right, let's be methodical', I found it straight away! TFTC. On holiday from Wellington
A great place for a cache if there ever was one! TFTC --Your friends from Wisconsin, USA.
What a fun place to hide a cache! TVboy and I had a good time looking for this one. We needed all the help we could get because we forgot to pack our GPS! Can you believe it? It sure makes things a lot harder that's for sure. We thank you for the great hide. We are from a very rural state in the US, Wisconsin and really appreciate your beautiful country. TFTC
Found it, took a while, I almost gave up! Well hidden and enjoyed the history lesson. Thank you.
Last cache in the South Island for another few years probably. Another quick stop by on the way to our flight. Roadworks on the bridge.
What a good cache! Very cleverly hidden. Ended up using the torch on my phone to look through all the little hidden spots.
This one proved to be as elusive as "Lady of the Lake" to begin with. Like the "Lady", GPS co-ordinates were near enough to superfluous, GZ being so self evident.
... So, once again the search that looked like being a doddle proved anything but, and after thinking I'd given it my best shot, I retreated to the car feeling deflated at the thought of having to log a DNF on the last cache of the last day of our Queenstown holiday. Then, at the car and with a clear head suddenly, I decided (just like at the "Lady"), the cache had to be ...., so I turned around and went back to "Francis" and searched methodically instead of randomly as before. What 10 minutes earlier had seemed so difficult, suddenly became so easy.
Thanks for bringing me to this interesting historical relic, fuzzynz, and for putting a cache here.

How disappointing! We didn't find it even when a very experienced geo cacher came along to help. He decided it was missing. Interesting thing though.
Spent ages looking and feeling in every nook and cranny of this turbine. Just could not find it. Frustrating to see others have done so since my visit.
Kiwi WildTui and myself searched high and low here but to no avail. Glad to see at time of finally logging this that someone found it a few days later
Thanks to the good eyes of Kaygeedee, the cache is back where it should be after a bit of cache creep. Checked it was in the right location and it's all good to go again.
1380 Had a look while passing. Went to log it and see itis disabled. Not sure it was in the right place. Will message owner.
Very odd. We've just checked and it's not there despite being found in the past few days. Will replace soon.
No pen or pencil so I couldn't sign the log book. Good place to hide it though!
What's the first thing you do when jump off the plane (other than go pick up your bag and rental car of course) - Go find a geocache! And so my day heading south to invercargil has started!
Other than the not-1.5 star terrain rating for this easy wander over to a great display of local history, it was negotiating all the twists and turns of side streets to park at the GZ. Lots of comings and going here but cache soon in hand thanks to muggle sidekick who helped block the view while I signed the log. Thanks for showing me this place. TFTC
from Finland. Walked back and forth over dam while waiting for muggles to leave the cache site.
A quick park and grab well this was a walk and grab but an easy one anyway. Was a nice night to walk back to the doubletree by Hilton not quite a Hilton but close than I'll ever get to one. TFTC ☺
Just in town overnight for a relations Birthday celebration, walked around to here from our accomodation early this morning.

A little bit premature for an archive request after only a week of no finds! Disabling temporarily.
Had a quick look but could not find it and as we had miles to go before we could sleep we couldn't waste too much time looking.
Did this cache 2 years ago off a pocket query but never logged it online. Tried to find it again today and log it officially but had no luck. Possible been muggled. Oh well till next time.
Grabbed during an afternoon out caching. Was nice to see a part of little known local history. Tftc!
This morning we headed to the Remarkables Shopping Centre to get some supplies. Afterwards, we made a brusk walk over this way for a couple of caches. Today was a lot colder than the last few days we've been here. A very quick find at GZ. Thanks for pointing out this piece of history and also TFTC!
Didn't take too long to find this one. TFTC =) Just uploaded a photo as I remembered that I didn't have a pen with me.

This is our last cache before we leave Queenstown, on our way back home after a few lovely days away. It took about 5 minutes to find, I made it harder than it needed to be, but I guess I got to explore the turbine inside and out! Thankfully the cars don't hang about for long (e.g. the next light change).
I had to take a picture of the couch on top of the hill, we found this cache http://coord.info/GC51NN4 yesterday, near GZ
Thanks for the hide and bringing us here, I even got to walk on the bridge!

Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.

Easy find today - spent a good 10 -15 mins last time with no success - so very pleased to spot quickly today Tftc
Easy find as we arrived on the South Island. I think I just got lucky as I walked up to it. Thanks for the quick cache!
At our drive to te anau we tock some caches. And this one was one of it. TFTC AN OTHER NICE DAY IN NZ WITH GREAT CACHES.

Okay, we checked the objective and organised a torch to investigate the object further. It did not take too long before we had the cache in our hands. Thanks
