Laps around tree -no luck. Thought stick poked in could be it but fail. Tree looks like a savage cat attacked it! Gave up but will be back when reassurance its not muggled.
DNF
Hunted around the tree as it was right on coordinates,
Found a hiding spot that would be perfect but came up empty handed.

We were here a few weeks go and DNF , and I am just remembered that I have nit logged it.we found the GZ and looked all around it , and also read the hints and otger logs. And walked around and around again.I think this one needs to b checked...Oh and by the way BIG MOZZIES are right they are HUGE. Hopefully this cche has not gone too far because we will be back soon.WE LOVE IT WGEN THE MOZZIE HAS HIS SANTA HAT ON
Second unsuccessful hunt today. Eventually gave up after what felt like the hundredth lap of this poor tree. Would love a slightly more explicit hint for cachers as hapless as me. It's a shame caching has left this tree in such a state...
I always drive past this one and forget there is a cache here, NOT TODAY!
2 sets of eyes helped finding this one. TFTC

Pulled up coming home from maitland and found the cache after a few laps around the tree. Great little hide! TFTC
Battled for first to find with senzi, gave up that day. Easy find by geokid this time.
Out with the family. Met some other cachers (we were too obvious). Not too many mozzies either. Tftc
Our 6710th overall find.
Found this one on the way to work this morning, I suppose I just got sick of driving past the icon finally! Made a simple grab today.
Thanks subi-two for the cache.

1020 GAFF3 On our way out of Newcastle, and on our way to Toowoomba for EasterFest we stopped here for me to reprise a DNF last year. Am sure it was Frosty082 that found this one as I was still putting on some tropic strength insect repellent.

Stopped by this one on the way past but didn't have a lot of time to spare just about to give up when I heard this catch laughing at me for being so blind. there it was with its head sticking out for all to see.

Whilst at Denman for a week long work conference I found this cache. Return trip to Newcastle in the extreme wet to head home. Being from Nth Qld I was surprised to see weather like this here.

Found at 4:27 PM GAFF1. If this is the daddy (or mummy) of all the mozzies in Newcastle and Lakes area, then please get rid of the darn thing! In the last 2 days I have been attacked and bitten by scores of mozzies. They are so fierce and competitive for some blood, that they totally ignore even Tropical strength Aerogard!
I was looking at all the nooks and crannies of this tree with one hand and waving my hat with the other to shoo away the mozzies that found me again. I told them that they had to re-use previously bitten skin areas as all other exposed skin had already been taken!
That is one tough little container to locate when the leaf cover becomes a blob of mulch after the rain.
Thanks subi-two.

Reperio at 1600.
Having had a DNF on this one previously, I was driving by on the way home today so decided to give it another go to put it to rest. Arrived at GZ to find once again plenty of bark strips torn from the tree. This time after a quick glance around the area...the cache was able to be spotted just by the tiniest tip of it's head. No doubt it was covered completely last time making it impossible to see. Nice to have this one ticked off.

After a short search, I eventually spied the cache sitting out in the open. After signing the log, I tried to secure it a little better.

Nice one. Found the last one that was around this area. Had the kids with me this time. Last time produced an awesome photo. I will post it this time.
Three days left to bag 1000 caches in our first year. This is 956.
Ozzie and his mates were out in force today but that didn't stop us grabbing this one cos we parked the Geosubi right next to it. Thanks subi-two.

Stopped by this evening to hopefully make a find on this one...but no luck! One thing is for sure though...the tree has suffered a LOT of damage because of this cache. Not good.
The weather was not cooperating today with quiet heavy rain, our first hurried search left us empty handed and wet as we returned to the car for some shelter and a rethink. Withe the wipers going we tried a little recon from the car before venturing out into the rain again, as we ruled out previously searched locations we were able to locate the cache quickly this time. 1130 GAFF1 Okay, Grub Fred, where did you find it!?!
I'd wiped, sprayed, and wiped some more repellent, and it didn't seem to help too much.
Having completed much of the MGSc I was hoping to get on to actually finding some caches on my way to the small trail in Wallsend so I could find x 30 in a day. But it was not to be (today).
May stop by another day when down visiting the older son.
Thanks subi

Did have similar problems with the previous Mega Mossie to.

After going to the movies and feeling a little peckish, a late night kebab run was on the cards passing thru I made a quick check on the iPhone. GZ was quickly discovered and so was the cache. Tftc
Dropped by on the way to work. Like MV I couldnt find the cache. Check high and low and just couldnt put my hand on to it.
I called in on my way past and recovered the container from where it had "disappeared to". Gravity had grabbed the container and put it out of reach. I have re-hidden the container at GZ in a spot where gravity should not be an issue. The cache is lying flat with some appropriate cover. Please do not damage the tree during your search.
Happy hunting.
Happy hunting.
Came by this one quite late at night, and hunted all around GZ but to no avail. Contacted a previous finder who pointed me in the right direction...and there was nothing in that spot.
Made a bit of a detour after work tograb this one..
I had it found within a couple of minutes...
