Find #1096
What a great day! After a day of caching pain (3 out of 12!) on NYE last weekend, we've come out and hit a fine half century.... 51 finds including a couple of gems, and 2 DNFs. We cached around Jilliby and out to Yarramalong and Kulnura today, filling in some gaps, evening a couple of scores and exploring new areas.
We were lured to the wrong side of the road first by a swirly GPS, ended up on the side we had parked on, and made a quick find. The vines in the hide have really given the cache some good camo..... TFTC ALL7

As the end of the year was coming along I was given a generous invitation to come down to Kanwal to a Christmas Eve dinner and singing of Christmas Carols with others. I didn't realise that this particular cacher, that I had met at Lake Lyell/Lithgow, had so many friends that were also my friends from 'another time'! or friends of my relatives. I had stopped by Wadalba McDonalds so I could get some WiFi, but being 2250 at night they were closing down for a 11pm closure - drats. I had wanted to log some Waymarks, but that then had to wait till a lot later!
Then I realised (from looking at my GSAK database) that there was a few caches close by that would help me with a couple of my geocaching desires, so I manually loaded them into my GPSr, and to this one first of all. ALL quiet on this section of the road (it was only as I was writing in my log book that a car went past).
Found @ 2323, GAFF1. Cache dry and intact. TNLNSL
While it WAS found more than hour after sunset, and more than an hour before sunrise, and therefore suitable for the Night Caching elective #6, I already have well more than required for that aspect of the DGSc Challenge. Now to work on finishing THREE other electives!

We were at Pioneer Dairy for World Threatened Species Day today. Sadly it was so wet not a lot was happening and the predicted crowds had not appeared. Everyone else kept under the shelter and I thought what the heck, I'm wet already so lets go and get some caches.
Jumped in the car and drove here. With all the rain the creek was really flowing and I could here lots of frogs.
Found cache, SL & replaced the cache. No traffic, easily done.
TFTC 4th for the day, and it fined up after lunch and we did a great bird watching walk. Worth the trip up from Sydney.

Found 4:57 pm. I headed over to this cache after locating a TP .au trig. I parked the geovehicle right nearby and headed over to GZ to then in a break in the traffic grab the cache. I didn't quite expect what I found initially looking for the usual suspect cache type. Now I understand the cache name and after signing the log replaced the cache after waiting for another break in the traffic. I think I signed it with 4pm I left the minutes off now I see it was almost an hour later. Oh well. Now are there any other Au caches around.

Thanks for the cache.

Heading for the Amateur Radio Convention at Wyong race course this morning and called in to find this cache along the way.

Back on the 24 Feb 2013 I looked for this cache and could not find it. Today was a different story even though it was raining, the cache was located without too much trouble this time.

Traveled from Sydney to Wyong today for the Central Coast Amateur (HAM) Radio Field Day, being held at the Wyong Racecourse. It had been raining all morning but thankfully the rain had stopped in time for some geocaching on the way back home to Sydney.

A quick roadside grab. Cute camo. 2nd find of the day. TNLNSL. TFTC.

I made a special trip down here just for this cache. It was such a quick find, I went and found some others as well. The road was reasonably quiet and I enjoyed the view of the water from GZ.
Thanks for the quick little cache!

Camping over the weekend at the Casuarina Camping Area in Watagans State Forest, we left our camper trailer at the camp site and headed out for a full day of geocaching. After the 32 degrees on Friday, Saturday's 25 almost felt like a chill. We drove down trough the forest towards Jilliby and then head up north starting to tick off the 'Country' Series.

A quick stop to grab this cache - which was found exactly where we thought.

TFTC!

17-Nov-14
I first looked for this one a while ago but it turned out to be during a time the cache had gone missing. Noticing the the co-ords had been changed I figured it was finally time to tick this one off the list. I had passed by the area a couple of weeks prior and had spotted the hide but didn't have a pen to sing the log. Today I went back and found the cache safe and sound in its hidey hole. I extracted it, signed the log and placed it back before continuing on my way.
TFTC cheers

15-Sep-14
Today was such a fine sunny day, it was a perfect day to get out into the fresh air and go geocaching ... so that's what I did, heading up to grab a few around the Wyong area. This one proved to be a simple park'n'grab, quite similar to a few others I had done today.

Thanks for another smiley, ALL7.

Some great wildlife down the nearby track! Left a protector with the cache!

30-Dec-13
Thanks for the encouragement from fellow caching family members. Too bad about the heart attack I almost had when a big black snake slithered away from the path that I was on. After that little shock it took us a little while to settle but we got the cute little critter in the end. tftc

30-Dec-13
Found with one half of close-by. Please be careful of snakes, they might not always run away as they did for us! Cute container, tftc.

28-Dec-13
Found this cache quickly with redwiggle3, while he was signing the log i was urging him to hurry as a muggle was walking down the path towards us. as we got in the car to leave we saw the muggle approach the geocache area and was worrying, but i am now glad to see it was only a fellow geocacher.

Out for a walk to help geobub catch up on some much needed shut eye. Approached this one from an earlier find in town. Spotted some suspicious activity from quite some distance away in the area I thought might be GZ. They were gone by the time I got there but given the names in the log for the same date I reckon this one had only just been found. Cute container. Thanks All 7.

Had a good search high and low, checked the logs for clues so I had an idea what I might be looking for, but no turltey luck for me today - DNF. (I'm pretty new at this, so it's most likely still there and I just didn't see it)

It was interesting to see the work being done around the bridge. I suspect it might attract a few fishermen down the track? Cheers

19-Jul-13
I guess we should have expected to draw some attention parking as close to GZ as possible but startled when approached by plain clothes police asking what we were up to. They left a few minutes later satisfied with our explanation and now informed in the sport of geocaching. Finally found the right geotrail, signed log and just about to return to car when a council worker then approached asking if we had any marijuana. Assured us he was just joking but after the police presence, wonder if there is a connection? Is the misspelling of this cache intentional or a decoy to the camo?

19-Jul-13
Found on Day 4 of Central Coast road trip with mizmaz. TFTC!

09-Jul-13
Found this one a while back when we realized where it was!

02-Jul-13
Really over thought this one. We were in the right area, however we were really unsure what we were looking for despite the obvious name of the cache. Was actually really well camouflaged and we kicked it about ten times before we realized what it was. TFTC

Wink A car was parked close, so it gave me a reason to be there, as the place was busy with Schoolies, cars going past, a police car patrolling the 40KMH school zone. A soaked foot, thanks gps for putting me where I did not need to be. Found it eventually after reading the logs.

Out caching with Spikeymikey and minichef and it still amazes me when people can't even spell the bloody name of something right. Spikey proved he had the better nose because he had to, to get through the smell.

Reperio at 0855.

Came by this one after an enjoyable morning drive out to Mangrove Creek Dam, and decided to grab this one and a couple more before heading home to Newcastle. Once at GZ, the cache was spotted as it's a bit hard to miss it...and I liked the container.
