Walked GZ thoroughly and could not spot the cache. I have a picture of where I think it should be if the CO would like it. Otherwise a check may be in order. TFTD
We searched High and Low for this one.
So Low in fact that I got to know all the ANTS and other BUGS on a First name basis..
But if they knew where the Cache was, they were not letting on.
Oh Well.
We will go back another time
Thanx anyway ALL7

7132 Out today for a bike ride and searched and searched for the fern. My gz was right at a big red gum. TFTC
We were not sure if we should find number four first and walk past this one to the road and to the car, but we ended up doing this one then continuing on to number four. I spotted this pretty quickly as it was most fully exposed. After signing I pushed it right in, but still pretty easy to spot.
Thanks for the harder cache!
Thanks for the harder cache!
Night caching with TOMBI saw us heading down to this series and to see if we could find one or two others nearby. I got side tracked by a likely looking spot as we neared the area. However TOMBI somehow managed to find it within a minute looking elsewhere. TFTC
I reckon every time I drive up the freeway now I'm going to have a little self-satisfied smile as I come through here. I must have had a 30 minute DNF last time I was here, and today it was a 30 second search (with a 5 minute walk). Cache was in the third thing I touched! Arrrgggh. Well, that's caching for you. TFTC TNLN log in good condition.
Enjoyed walked to 4 caches, little longer searched, finally after 20mins, said 7mts offsite as no trouble... Thanks
After collecting up the other 3 Freeway caches in these parts, Opa-Bob and I commenced our walk back to the car - via #3 of course By now the sun was out in force, and we both commented on the rapidly rising temp as We detoured at the required track, quickly coming upon an area covered in Ribbon-Grass type bushes, and not a fern in sight....hmmm...we reasoned ribbon grass bushes are kinda fern-like, so commenced the search...we spanned out and started poking, and before I knew it Opa-Bob said "here it is" and indeed, there it was - taking out 4 from 4 of the team finds here....I think after a morning what hong me collect caches he'd already done, Opa-Bob was well and truly ready for some finds himself, and made my job that much easier. Back to the car and off to find a well deserved refreshment. Thanks for the hide and the little series here ALL7
As we headed from #2 to #4 we saw a track heading off into the bush so reasoned that was the way to #3 ... it was! As the numbers tumbled, our GPSs told us to head off the track into an area where there were lots of grass plants (not ferns), so we did. We wandered around this area for a few minutes, and then I looked at my GPS to see it saying 1m! And as I turned to Mumma-Kel to let her know, what did I see but a black container sitting in the crown of a grass plant. Talk about luck ... what could have been a lengthy search reflective of its D4 rating, turned out to be a quick and easy find for us.
Thanks for this nice little series of 4 quite different hides, ALL7 ... I enjoyed it.

Nice walk through the bushland - keep cool for me... Signed the log. Thanks All7.
How do you find all of these incredible places for caches, ALL7? This was a quick find after already discovering #2 as the other member of the team had his eyes focussed more quickly on the probable hiding spot - and was so right! TFTC ALL7.

A quick and easy find. Just a note, the plant it is hidden in is not a fern, but what I would call spear grass.
Found at 3:38 PM GAFF2. This time we had a better chance with better co-ordinates [^] However it still took a while of going around in circles as we were surprised by the type of hide - just basically lying in a bush
Thanks ALL7.
Thanks ALL7.
This time I soon found it not fern but easy find must have been looking in the wrong place last time
Not sure what Robak65 is talking about, I did the caches in reverse order and this was a very straight forward walk from Freeway #4. In fact about 167m, and even in the rain it was no problem.
Also ot sure this container can be called a LONG clear tube.....and it is definitely NOT a fern!

The GPS was all over the place .I ended up reading past logs and the hint and finally found this little bugger a clever hide. Thanks ALL7 TNLN SL
Yep a "D4" for sure... Suggest doing them in order as the bush bashing from #4 back to #3 is hard work...! Once at GZ it took a lot of searching and approaching from different angles to locate it.
Yes in the end the coords are very good. Also confirm grass not fern.
Loved the series.

TFTC. This was the teams second attempt. [:x] A Scouts Australia Competition
Took a while but I found it. The co-ordinates took me to a place with some nice long grasses, but I found the co-ords for GZ spot-on. TFTC ALL7!

No.3 This cache proved to be a bit harder to find. However, reading the clues & using my eyes, I finally found what I was looking for. This was quite a good hide. SL TFTC

Same story as everyone else. Once I found the cache and looked at the GPS screen co-ordinates were spot on. TFTC.
After dnf months ago had the day free n thought Id check to see if I could find. Thanks spikey mikey for clearing up the fern issue
After a couple of DNF's when this one was first published, we finally got back for another look with the updated coordinates, this time around the cache was located without too much bother. Thanks for the cache ALL7.
Coordinates changed from:
S 33° 13.301 E 151° 26.569
Coordinates changed to:

0810 GAFF2 After a DNF 6 months ago, and it having been found (and DNFed by a friend) I thought it was time to take up the Challenge and have another go at it. Loaded up Spikey Mikey's coordinates as well, and headed off into the bush from another parking spot. It was only just drizzling by this stage.
Came back to a similar area to where I had searched in the dark, and spent another half an hour until, "What's that!" moment!
Did an average of the adjusted coordinates.
Dry and intact.
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, B 2 B ingot, I Bashed at MidWest 2007, Iconic Bridges, Just Monkeying Around Oz, Little Moo, PAP, Slugging Around the World!, Trackabulldog, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, and trackable shirt.
TFTC ALL7, shame Manning Valley Mountain Biker had to 'sit it out'.
(I think your coordinates are reasonable enough, as it is a D4 hide)

On a joint venture with Team Senz and nellc, the coords by colleda were spot on, TFTC ALL7!!
TFTC took the geomutts out for a walk while trying to finish off some local caches
Was a bit of a challenge to find this one too many ferns (grasses) to search.

TFTC We were so close to giving up and like those before us, read the notes of others.
Today was third times the charm, with a few more people and reading the logs, we eventually found the cache 9m away from GZ. TFTC
Driving home from Newcastle and just happened to look at the GPS. A quick stop, a bit of a walk, and a few caches. Nice!
We looked for a while before expanding our search finding it where our GPS showed 9m. In the end it was a process of elimination before something stood out - the cache! An interesting take on this type of hide....
I thought i might be here for ages judging by other posts and the fact I was out caching with only an ipad today. But the coords took me to within 3m of cache, so it was a really quick find! Yay
I had a good look around, but like many others, I could find nothing, and certainly nothing that fitted the clue of "fern".
I resorted to reading previous logs and came across alternative co-ords from Colleda. I tried these, and just as I was getting close, I looked down and saw a small black lid in the "fern" ( or what I would call blackboy grass or native grass ). So it is here.

As this is the last ALL7 cache in this series not yet found by us, we returned today. We closed on GZ and I pointed to a spot and said" it's probably somewhere like this", and it was there! A GPS check showed it is mostly near Colleda's coords, but now and then is closer to ALL7's coords, take your pick. Thanks to ALL7 for a good hide, not easy to find without a bit of luck!
DNF at 12:38:17 PM. How could a cache be missing out here? However when I was approaching GZ I knew there was going to be trouble when I was taken to nothing in particular. Why is there no obvious structure at GZ?
I came by here after grabbing #4, and as expected...the coords put you in the middle of nowhere. Stopped and read a couple of past logs who all report the same thing...even those who have found it...so I couldn't be bothered wasting anymore time with it. Coords need to be fixed up.
With so many dnf on this log the result was going to be the same searched for 60 mins with no result, no small stumps at gz only small trees and saplings disapointing not to finish this series, we used 2 GPSs and 2 phones with no result

DNF GAFF1, then on to go for #4.
Back to car and check the GSAK file on the laptop (and [;O] go back to #4 to retrieve the vital GPSr left there), and come back GAFF3 with some alternate coords.
Still no success, but was having to use the headlight all the time by this.
So will try again another DAY!

We used colleda's coords and it was a quickish find once Grug gave up his secret parasite. Now in to number 4. TFTC
We looked for a while using both sets of coordinates but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Even wasted time looking under grass tufts, but you can only give so much time to a size #1 in the bush.
Today we went to checked our cache for check co-ords was 5m, look fine to closer... Also there is well no problem... thanks
Yay! Finally a FTF. Came down to grab a few more of ALL7's caches. This was number 4 on the list. We spent a lot of time looking for this one. Could see where others had been searching but there was nothing at GZ that looked like it could hide anything. Widened search up to 10 metre radius and still nothing. Gave up and went off to find some others.
After sending a text to CO for a hint we came back for a second shot and soon had the tricky little cache in hand about 12 metres off GZ as shown by our 2 Garmins. Thanks again ALL7.

We were here today for another look with no success, got home to write this log and found some new coords with Colleda's (congrats on FTF) log wish we had these before coming home. Would be good if the listing was updated ASAP.
BUGGER ! Only just beaten by colleda 2TF, I only spent a couple of minutes on this one, nyuk nyuk nyuk

Hi to Cachers, I am at Canberra at moment as I checked my email to show, I am really agologies to all cachers who DNF, so will checking with co-ords when we on the way home from canberra via stop our cache Freeway#3.. Thanks
i think i better hint then, if DNF keep looking, would be better since the size of the cache.
Looked for about half an hour, GPS was jumping around a bit, but the general area it was indicating yielded no success (even after looking at the hint!). To add to my defeat I picked up a tick from this one that started eating into me on the drive home!
