Had the park to myself. Originally thought it was just some rubbish, investigated anyway. This is my 500th find. tftc
Our 100th find and second for the day placed by geono. Very clever hint. Ferg54 can claim this one. TFTC
We have found one like this before with an equally perplexing hint that effectively meant the same thing. That one took us (and many others) multiple attempts before it was found. Similar here - although only two goes. We thought we knew what to look for the second time around but almost came up empty handed until Mr CF finally spotted the hide - thanks!
Thanks geono! Loved this cache! A favourite from me. Ive been driving by Thunderbolts Rock for years. There is a family story passed down through our family that my 2times great grandmother fed Thunderbolt regularly!!
Stopped for drink and yippee a cache or 2. Pity about the graffiti. Nice tidy and safe positioning of cache. Tftc
A nice little turnout from the highway, and even better we had the area to ourselves. A tough hide that took us a while to find, but very well done. The best of this type of hide we have seen. After an enjoyable stay in Armidale with some great caching, it was time to move on so we traveled to Tamworth, again caching where it was possible on the way.We spent much of the day catching up with jobs and relaxing before heading out late in the afternoon for some shopping and a few caches and Lab points.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache geono..**SKI Pair****
A very crafty cache. Well played. A difficult hunt as people were camping at GZ. They were from Charters Towers and they joined us in the search.Heading to Ballina from Adelaide and taking a few new roads mostly to pick up some LGAs that we are missing.geono., I found Thunderbolts Rock today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
That's clever, had a lucky thought as I walked over and spotted straight awayTFTC
Heading to Tamworth this morning, a cool breezy day, but warm in the sun, so again a day of layers, on and off. Walked around for a little bit until we spotted what was needed. removed and signed.Fav point.Total Caches Found 16019TFTC geono.
tftc so sneaky, didnt even pay attention to it at first until the hint clicked. clever
Reperio 14:29Day 2 of our tour of Tamworth caching trip, and Master Vitruvius and I decided to head out towards Hillgrove and Wollomombi. With lots of drive by caches, most the finds were nice and quick, with a few nicely crafted caches thrown into the mix. The most pleasingly part of the day was that nearly all the caches were available and found. This one certainly had me looking longer than expected, partly due to a very specific piece of camo covering the cache from view, and partly for where it was located.Gratias geono. As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Pretty cool indeed! Found by Geomum while kids climbed and burnt some energy TFTC
WE are travelling home via Tingha to do some fossicking and stopped here to log a few caches ,loved the hide and will give a Fav point TFTC
This took awhile to find, I was checking around all the trees etc, saw the hide but thought it was something else. It was only when I got back over the fence, I thought I would check what I had seen and sure enough that was the hide. Thanks for this one and maintaining only 1 more heart before it reaches 100 of them.Another 11 year old cache found today.
Read the logs and started to search for the container around gz. Came upon many syringes and decided to leave this one for today. Maybe next time. Tfth.
An afternoon trip to Uralla for some caching. I had about 2h and thought I would clear out the town but there are lots of good caches, including some short walks, i took it leisurely, enjoying it a lot, went over time and ended up getting about 2/3 of the caches around. Well, a good reason for another visit maybe next year. This cache I tried and failed to find, gave the area a good search. Thank you geono. for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
Sadly no find today but met 2 other great GC travelling the opposite direction. As darkness descended decided not to keep hunting amongst the spikey locals
We have got way behind in our logging and are trying to catch up and get our caching in order.Life has been pretty hectic this year, and a lot of it has gotten in the way of efficient logging of finds. We want to thank all the Cache owners for providing an array of caches for us around our countryside and in our cities. We apologise for the generic logs. We must do this to get through the backlog.Unless otherwise specified, all the caches we found were in good order.Thank you, geono, for this Traditional cache.
Our second last for the day, we feel quite connected to old Thunderbolt now. We decided to tackle the trade before the earthcache which turned out to be a good move as we had a muggle invasion shortly after replacing the cache. Another nearly hidden cache. The standard set is so high that sometimes we neglect to give favourites to caches that would otherwise score them. While this one isnt as crafty as some we have done it is still deserving of favourite. Tftc
Quick stop on the way to Coffs. I remember coming here as a kid and it being more interesting, shame about all the graffiti. I made the find much faster than I expected to. Very creative cache. TFTC.
Once again, a very clever cache. Found this one lot more easily than a lot of the others – about time. Another favourite and TFTC.
Apologies for the late log here (14.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.Ha! A cute one here, but eventually I checked something and Bingo; a cache was found. Having visited Thunderbolt's grave back in town, it was good to see the area of his final hours.TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
I've driven past here many times and never stopped.
Fascinating story of Captain Thunderbolt.
It was well worth the stop.
Love the hide.

Wow I don’t remember the trees on the southern side, the last time I drove past was eight years ago though. It stuck out on approach a lot more in my memory! I have a connection to Thunderbolt in that a relative a couple generations above rode with him, which is pretty cool. Reading old logs led us to the final location, and I initially disregarded the cache as rubbish at first last, Geoboyfriend came up with the goods here. I have a Thunderbolt connection so stoked to be able to get a couple smileys here. Thanks geono.

Now that's a tricky one. Took four of us to locate it. Thanks for the geofun geono.

Traveling with my hubby.
Enjoyed the ground zero cache.
I spent many a trip climbing on this rock as a child.

Played the waiting game, muggles were parked at GZ for about 4hours but as I am staying over night was able to find it in the dark. Well hidden. Thanks Geono for the cache.
Blkthunder and I are off to Tamworth… having left home at 4am there’s plenty of time for caching…
Good thing I brought lots of FPs with me…
Blkthunder made the find… clever & sneaky…
This is also where the heavens opened up so we had to abandon the Earthcache…

Find #6829
Headed up the coast, way up in fact, to collect a geohound but plans took an unexpected turn. So while I drive 9 hrs up via Sydney, decided I'd go inland on the way home and collect a few counties, fill-ins for my Jasmer, and some other older caches to make the journey worthwhile. And of course who can resist an ADLAB here and there when it's about discovery and learning.
So this was a quick easy find, and cache in good condition. Ingenious hide, well done, a fav from me ️
Thanks so much geono. for getting me out and about, and for highlighting this spot

Easy little park and grab. The cache is in good condition, signed and replaced. Thanks Geono for placing the cache.
Heading home after a few days exploring and caching around the Armidale area.
Always such a cool rock formation to explore, although the graffiti does take away from it somewhat. Definitely seemed to be more than during our last visit here. Cache took us a while to locate, even though it was staring us in the face the whole time, very clever.
Thanks for the cache

The fist time I came here I could not fin it at all this time I found it straight away thanks to having more experience with this sort of thing.

Incredible! Took us an embarrassing amount of time to find but it's a great hide. thanks!!
TFTC. Historic spotted to stop at. Family ditched me to look at the rock while I kept searching. The hint is very cleaver but quite cryptic. Very cleaver cache container.
What an amazing place. Great way to break up a long trip and stretch the legs. Hint was confusing until we located the cache, then itall made sense. Tftc fp added
Crookedpete and I were given leave passes from our respective families for the Easter long weekend for a geocaching road trip. I suspect that this was our families' Easter present to themselves to have a weekend alone without our company .
As members of The Bromance geocaching collective, we are a rather contrarian bunch, so while the main geocaching action was apparently up north over Easter we decided to instead head south from Brisbane. Our main focus was on caches with lots of favourites, good DT combinations, high elevation or sitting sad and neglected with no visitors for an extended period.
After finding some off-the-beaten-path caches, our route back to Uralla brought us past this cache. Yesterday, while visiting another cache relating to Captain Thunderbolt, I had the thought that if old Thunderbolt had to pay rent on all his alleged hideouts, he'd be a very poor man indeed, with every rock crevice in the surrounding countryside seemingly being attributed to yet another of his supposed hiding places. At least it seems this location has some legitimacy.
The rest stop had a few car loads of muggles as we arrived but by the time we wandered around the rock most of them had cleared off leaving us free to search for the cache. Eventually I spotted something that matched the hint after wondering exactly how helpful could that sort of hint be. Good hide. TFTC

Instead of heading mega north to Townsville for Easter, Seffnjarah and I decided on a long weekend road trip doing some bushwalks whilst targeting puzzles, EC's, unloved caches, high favourite points and some higher elevation caches.
After a night in the swag in Armidale, today we planned on heading west through Invergowrie collecting a few caches in the bush before turning south, and then returning via Uralla to clean up a long list of caches in Armidale.
I think this is the fourth or fifth hideout of Thunderbolts we have visited in two days. I suppose this says two things - these granite outcrops are fairly prolific across the New England Tableland and Thunderbolt got around! Shortly, we will visit poor old Thunderbolts grave.
We stopped here, and admired the rocks and collected the nearby earthcache clues. When a gap in the muggle traffic presented itself, we wandered over to this cache and made the find. The good thing about a caching road trip is that you quickly get your "caching eyes" on and this style of hide gets easier. Logbook was a little damp. Many thanks, geono

This cache took us a few moments to find. We looked and looked, read some old logs, did a few witch dances and even walked off to find an EarthCache to change our luck. Never have I ever cracked on with an EC mid-hunt before to change our luck and hopefully won’t ever have to again. If I ever find myself learning something whilst I’m looking for something then shoot me.
We looked on both sides of the fence, up and down, left and right and in both the ethereal plain and the spiritual. Being able to cross between the plains is a TOTT everyone needs in their bum bag.
With all the FPS awarded there was no way we were going to leave it. We were due to be in Tamworth cracking some bubbles with a few country music stars so we had to arrive happy and fulfilled. On our second hunt we came up with the goods. Another FP for the pile. tftc

Tftc Geono., Out here doing the Earthcache. After a chat with a muggle (your info made me seem very knowledgeable ) had a search for this and soon had the cache.
Found this one with Snickersallan. We had fun today finding a variety of geocaches in a variety of locations. Large boulders seemed to have a role in most. This is a clever hide and definitely deserves a favourite point. Thanks Geono and Happy New Year!
Met up with my good friends Aussie Liahona and enjoyed a nice road trip to pick up some well designed caches that was highly recommended.
We enjoyed finding this well positioned cache and admired the huge boulders before we went on our merry way. Really enjoy the effort that the CO goes to make each find something different, a favourite point from me.
