Having found the correct pole and acquired the numbers and done the calculations it was time to set of to make the search. After parking the car a short walk and the cache in good condition was soon found.
Was given a weekend away in Daylesford by children but came down with flu(?) and struggled. we got coords but call was made to do another time. Damn, didn't have driver this time and at the very last bit, car hit a snag but ended up all ok. Love how these early multi's/caches make you doubt yourself. Love the no rules. So today I was in area again for a smidge of the crawl and decided to go searching. glad i didthanks so much gmj3191 for creating and maintaining your cache for all these yearsregardskbuckyfave for believing in value of longevity
Found with Tania H3 Second attempt at this one thanks to the cache owner for a little help was a easy find in the end great cache thanks for do such a great job of looking after the cache
Finally found this after weeks of getting co-ordinents wrong, and searching for hours in the wrong places. Our friend that was with us actually found this Cache, well done Leanne Found with Tazz&co
Couldn't find this Cache. We were there for over an hour, then we went to the Coffee's/Fitzgerald road point is this a clue point, the letter box number? We will return again to look for this again. The gps was boncing around due to all the trees, but we looked around everywhere anyway.
DNF this one had troubles with signal bouncing and service but still tried to find it with no luck
Travelling home from a weekend in Bendigo I decided to find this cache; for its age and Large size, both sought after attributes for me. It was a great adventure too, heightened by the fact it was getting dark as we approached GZ. Luckily the coordinates Id worked out, once Id worked out the trick involved in working them out, and despite the tree cover as a potential interruption of satellite signals, I found it quickly. It was well hidden and in excellent, well kept condition. Thanks for maintaining this real treasure gmj3191.
My first cache of 2024, and one Ive been eyeing off for months. I solved the coords before Christmas, but didnt have a chance to come out to GZ for a little while. I was concerned about driving in with my very not-off-road car, but it was pretty easy - just needed to dodge all of the pot holes. I managed to park about 230m from the cache and leg it in from there. I definitely took the hard way to GZ as on the way out there was somewhat of a path to follow.Very happy to have this one done. It might be the oldest cache Ive done.TFTC!
I had nothing to do today, the last day of the year, and with the weather great I decided to head out Gisborne way to hunt some long solved puzzles, and ancient multi and anything else that looked good on the way. This was the ancient multi and after having a nice lunch at a Gisborne cafe, drove to the published coords to gather the required information. After a really stupid calculation, I read the description properly and the numbers then made perfect sense. Worked out GZ and then used the maps on the GPSr to get close to GZ. Looks like the puddles around here have had many visits from the "I've got a 4WD and I go out and get bogged in the forest stuffing up the tracks for everyone else" crowd so walked a bit further than expected, but not too far though. After a brief bush bash I was at GZ where the great sized cache was soon in hand. Thanks heaps to gmj3191 for this one, a great multi!
Whoops, a small typo has been corrected. d/a not c/a in the equation.Sorry to those who were inconvenienced.
**04/11/2023, 07:02:00****Find #5486****Multi Find #459**I headed out this morning to head to St Arnaud for two and a half days of caching with SteMicMitSar. I needed this cache to fill a month on the Ausmer challenge and I'd been wanting to do it for years, but the opportunity never arose. This morning I calculated the co-ords three times and couldn't get the check sum to work and so decided to take a chance on the co-ords I had and hope for the best. I spent around ten minutes near GZ and found several objects that matched the hint but no cache. I then spied another object, much smaller than the ones I'd been looking around and underneath a slab of bark was this cache. Very relieved to have found it. A favourite point from me.**Thank-you to gmj3191 for placing this geocache**
What a pretty spot.... I couldn't get the math to math so followed the previous finders strategy of making c=d and the checksum finally agreed. At gz it was a short walk and a nice easy find. We needed this for our JASMAR and it was definitely worthy of the effort. FP added. Tftc
Chasing the Jasmer grid led me to this cache. There was much confusion with my calculations.lost patience waiting for 2 x PAF to respond, so I made C the same as D and headed off to a possible GZ with not too much confidence.and then no signal at GZ had me and my walking pole walking in blindly, and I miraculously blindly found this cache. Drove to within 200 Meters walked the rest of the way...and yes, I still managed to briefly misplace my car on the way out. All in all, it was a very rewarding find.
Found with PapaGrouch. We had looked for this one about 6 months ago but the track was closed at that time. Today we made our way back here and were able to go further as the track was no longer closed. Made the find and then continued on with our journey. It was nice to find this older cache to fill a spot in my AUSMER grid. TFTC
While at the market today I thought I would take the time to work out this cache, my maths was the worst but I did come up with some solid final cords. My car doesn't like dirt tracks but made it in the end. My GPS kept jumping at GZ and I resorted to using my eyes instead of the phone and after 10 minutes I found the cache. TFTC
The snuggle muggle had to fly to Sydney today for work, so I decided to take the day off and drop her off at the airport. Little did I know that her flight was at 06:30 which meant we were at the airport super early.
So after I dropped her off I decided I would take an impromptu caching road trip up to [Bendigo](https://www.visitvictoria.com/regions/goldfields/destinations/bendigo) and cache along the way.
I was mainly focussed on trying to pick up some Large caches, Virtuals, [Jasmer](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2018/10/the-jasmer-challenge/) fillers, and then any of the [12 Days of Cachemas caches](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMCDCJE?sort=name&sortOrder=asc&skip=0&take=20) or [2022 Victorian COTYA Nominee caches](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMC8QYR?sort=name&sortOrder=asc&skip=0&take=20) that I came near.
Well with this one not only being a Large cache, but also fulfilling one of my missing [Jasmer](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2018/10/the-jasmer-challenge/) months, March 2002, It was quickly decided to be a must do.
By the time I arrived at the posted coordinates, I was due for a bit of a stretch of the legs. So I ended up parking around the corner and enjoyed the walk over.
Luckily the posted coordinates weren't too busy. There was only one muggle on a smoko across the street, so I am sure I perplexed him a bit as I walked up and quickly took a photo of the power pole and then ran off.
It then came time for my least favourite part... the dreaded maths!
All I can say is thank goodness for check sums, as I had miscalculated one key number, that would have sent me in the complete wrong direction. However, after I performed the check sums I was able to work out my fatal error.
Second times the charm, as after I redid my maths, the coordinates for the final was worked out and the checksum agreed!
So I hopped back into the geomobile and drove towards GZ. I was able to park fairly close to the trail's entrance and then continued on foot.
It was a gorgeous forest and I only wish I had more time to explore, but I was on a mission today. So I stayed focussed and made my way to GZ.
Once I arrived, I was able to spot a few likely beacons and with only a short search the cache was in hand and the logbook was signed!
*Woohoo!*
It is always an amazing feeling to be able to find a cache that is 20+ years old. A true bit of caching history!
A big thanks goes to [gmj3191](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=b4585843-0564-409a-aee2-b35dc0e22ecf&wid=a14905c2-bc2a-492f-aef1-b67c5ee4cc81&ds=2) for keeping cache alive for all these years!
I am unfortunately all out of favourite points, but when I earn another one I will be sure to come back and give this cache a well deserved one!
**Cache Maintenance Status**
The power pole label was in good shape and very legible. The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
P.S. I left my favourite point pathtag for the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=b4585843-0564-409a-aee2-b35dc0e22ecf&wid=a14905c2-bc2a-492f-aef1-b67c5ee4cc81&ds=2) or next future finder.

Merry Cachemas!!!
After making a few early morning cache stops, attending an event and CITO, it was time to race back to Melbourne to complete the induction at Kensington Town Hall in preparation for Saturdays festivities.
But there is always time for one more, and this is a cache that has sat solved in my list for a very long time. Surely I had 5 mins.
I drive as far as I dated down the track without risking getting bogged and spotted Grub62 and Bunadoorian on their way back from the cache.
It didn’t take long to find this old gem and sign the logbook, as I suspect a few others did after me.
Thanks gmj3191 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Bunadoorian and I had calculated GZ before the event and CITO in at Gisborne this morning. We came in search and on seeing the Road Closed sign we parked the car and decided to walk in. We negotiated our way past the big puddles. And then while I was taking a photo of the pink heath Bunadoorian reached GZ. Lovely to find this large container here. TFTC and for bringing us here - gmj3191
I had a number of plans for today's geocaching run. They included :-
20 caches in Macedon Ranges LGA.
12+ caches in Moorabool LGA.
12+ caches in Melton LGA.
CITO, Event and Tree Attribute in new LGA.
2002 old geocache.
And most importantly - Geodetic Survey Way Point.
Not sure about Melton & Moorabool LGA numbers, will have to recheck LGA borders but had a great day with 41 finds in total, in lots of different environments. Highlight would have to be Mt Macedon.
Found this oldie at 1 pm. I parked the cat down the road a few hundred meters, as I noticed a sign saying 'Road Closed' and wasn't sure my lowered 2WD could make it. Probably would have depending on how deep some of the muddy puddles were.
While walking there, I re-read the cache page and got confused with the comment "please ensure you have a version later than 25 April 2023". No idea when I solved this one, so sent a message to the CO to confirm. Before a reply came back, I found this larger, old container.
Thanks for the cache GMJ 3191

Wednesday 26 July 2023 12:03 pm bunadoorian 4472. After calculating GZ before a couple of local events Grub62 and I made our way out to GZ. The track in was a bit wet but on foot navigable. The cache was found quickly and as described in the hint. One of the few caches we have found in this area. TFTC.
PrezDough and I attended a ParkRun in Gisborne today and noticed this old cache.
We couldn’t resist finding a grand old one like this so we had to do the maths to get this one.
Our checksum was a bit off and we wondered if we both couldn’t count properly.
So a quick message was sent off to the CO whilst we had some breakfast in a cafe.
Nothing heard, we decided to make the trek and thankfully Coffey and Fitzgerald were a great help.
A short stroll into GZ and we were able to make a quick discovery.
I must say, I thought we were definitely wrong in our calculations, but fortunately this was found with ease.
The cache, container and logbook are in excellent condition.
I visited 3 TB.

Found with CJDenno. We came to Gisborne to do parkrun when we spotted this cache. We drove to the posted coordinates where we found the digits to help us to get GZ. We did the quick maths and had the coordinates. Before we drove to GZ, we decided to go and have some breakfast. Once we were finished we started to drive to GZ. Once we reached the closest point to GZ we could by vehicle, we started walking. We found the cache where we found lots of old memorabilia, and of course the logbook. We signed the logbook and then headed off.

We enjoyed finding this one and had a little walk thrown in too, definitely a fav from me.

This is probably the longest distance we have traveled between the starting point where we collect the data to locate the cache itself and the actual cache! We didn't read the bit in the description where the CO noted that the actual cache was some 11km away from the starting point (teensy screen on GPS which is pain when you need to scroll through a long description) so when Mrs B & I first worked out the location we thought we had made a mistake so redid it again. Obviously the same coordinates resulted so we thought "what the heck, we have plenty of time so let's go for a drive" and lo-and-behold after a short walk from where we parked the car and a scramble through the scrub we found the cache. Ta dah!

PS: And I'll add it to my favourites too!

Heading north and time to stop. A quick scan and we spotted this one. While not normally one for multis we figured we could do the field maths and soon got a plausible location so back in the car and went for a drive. The sign said track closed so off on foot and then off the track to soon find the hide. Great to find an old cache. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Coordinates changed from:
S 37° 29.128 E 144° 35.345
Coordinates changed to:
S 37° 29.131 E 144° 35.360
Distance from original: 74.7 feet or 22.8 meters.
Due to changes at the initial site since 2002, I have changed the starting clues to simplify things a bit. The difference in coordinates reflects a new starting point but just a short move from the original starting point.
I also checked the final,. Everything is fine there, no road closures or signs of road damage, so I think the last searchers either had wrong coordinates or were approaching from deeper within the forest.

No luck getting to this one today as the track is closed to both vehicles and pedestrians due to storm and flood damage. After hearing of recent geocaching accidents that people have had, we were not willing to do silly things and chance the track, even though we were just over 200metres from the cache.
Found with NXTXN and Rarebreed. Beautiful bush walk to find this cache. Seemed fitting to leave behind a little Yowie
This has been a long time coming. Last visit out in this direction it was in torrential rain, so we gave it a big miss. Finally the prize is ours today. Thanks for keeping this old cache alive! Lovely area! A favourite from us!
As a relative geo-newbie I've never looked at, nor considered, the age of caches........ 2002????? That's totally amazing. I really must pay more attention!! I also didn't know that Streetview had a historical feature. The things I'm learning thanks to caching!! I turned off the main road earlier than I'd planned but it actually worked in my favour for a change It's a novelty to have accurate GPS today - even in the bush!! So it was a quick find once there! Many thanks for keeping this cache going.
Glad to say we found this old timer here today deliberately to fill a spot on our grid.
A party popper in the cache came to good use on our geoute as our first find for 2023.
Very hot today but air con working a treat.

The and I saw this one and because it’s an older one it became a must on our list. Thanks for the challenge & placement.
Muggle65 and l went for this one due its age. Cache is in good condition. Thank you for the fun
....It pays to update an old cache list on your app before heading out caching.....
No truer words have been said!
This cache was crucial for me to qualify for my Ausmer. It was the second last old cache for me to sign on this Ausmer journey so when we got to wp1 and tried to glean the numbers required to proceed to gz, well it didn't look good on either the shopfront or dalerious's cache page .
Lucky I started to read the cache page on my app and saw the "edit". Phew, to say I started to panic was an understatement .
dalerious and I never knew you could search old versions on Google Maps .
All well in the end, I had a perfect set of numbers to get me to this epic cache. Things at gz had dried slightly and a short walk ensued to gz fighting off a trillion mosquitoes.
Thank you gmj3191 for keeping this golden oldie alive and well. It has been a privilege. Cache found in excellent condition .

After having solved this some time ago, finally got out here as am driving the 4wd. Certainly need it to get closer to GZ as the track very wet and boggy. Cache soon found and signed. Nice and dry and waiting for the next person. Thank you so much for this multi and the final placement in a beautiful spot
On a weekend trip away to Daylesford from Melbourne, we stopped off along the way for a few caches. We had a little bit of trouble finding the information at the posted coordinates, but eventually was about to find what we were looking for using google. Extremely muddy at GZ, but we eventually got there! Great cache!! Thanks for bringing us out here
What a great old cache to find. Collected the information required and headed off to the stash. Pretty wet out this way but what’s a bit of mud when there’s a cache to get too. Everything in good order. Thanks for bringing me here. Gets a favourite for being so old
Chook and her long-time friend Wendy from our horse-endurance days decided to have a day out hiking, caching and fungi spotting on Mt Macedon today. It was cold, damp and misty up on the mount, but that didn't deter the throngs from the city having the same idea (minus the geocaching).
After returning from the mount and having a late lunch, it was time for Chook to make her way back home. But not without stopping for this particular cache.
We used to live out this way, and with Wendy and a couple of others, we used to run the Wombat Run Endurance Ride. This parking area not far from GZ was a checkpoint for this event in the years 2000 through to 2003, so this cache would have been sitting out there at the time we were. Despite using our Magellan GPSrs to map the tracks we used, we didn't know about geocaching back then, so we had no idea what we were riding past. Many many adventures were had in this area, so it was a nice blast from the past to return here today.
We still float the horses from Beaufort through Gisborne to Riddells Creek every year to attend their annual teeth and health check. But because we have the float on, we have never detoured to stop for this cache, every time saying "we must get that next time we pass".
The fact this is gmj3191's first cache and a nice 2002 oldie for the Jasmer challenge makes this cache even more special. So a favourite point from us. All is in good condition at GZ. TFTC +++ and for keeping it going.

So pleased to have found this one. Its one of the oldest caches in Victoria, over 20 yrs, and we needed it for a challenge cache. Still in excellent condition and obviously well looked after.
Can't find the phone number on the business across the road from the listed coordinates. Blank IGA wall across the road. I will try again another time.
Had the waypoint saved from 6 months ago during Covid. Found with Emthegem. Lovely spot. TFTC
Great hiding spot…only the one with the keenest of eyes in our family could locate it…MUM!!!
Love the swaps & hilarious explaining to kids (age 9 & 6) what the Pied Piper cassettes were!

Now with the ability to travel conveniently as Melbourne cup is on, my partner and I decided Bendigo for an overnight stay and a few caches.
Finally I made the journey for this cache that I needed for my date hidden. Great location. Fav.
Thanks to gmj3191 for the placement and fun.

Many thanks to Ian (The Riddeler) who ducked over from Riddels Creek to help me fix the sign problem, while I was in lockdown in Melbourne.
The cache is reconfigured and all set to be found again.

The signage has been updated, no phone number and no car rental. Couldn’t find it for now.
Taking advantage of the great weather by planning a caching weekend. After working out the numbers needed we set off to the parking coordinates and then enjoyed a sunny walk. The nice dry cache was signed after a successful search.
Thanks for another cache towards our Ausmer challenge.

Find #4747. Found @ 13:55 with TheGoodLadyWife, skirrel and j-bean.
On a family getaway to Bendigo and surrounds. As we were traveling sort of generally past the Wombat Forest (with a slight diversion) and this was a cache that I needed to tick off a square on my AUSmer challenge grid, we made that diversion. Unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs (but thankfully not wombats). We got the car as close as I deemed safe, and I hoofed it from there (the others declined my invitation to accompany me).
I initially took the left fork when I got close, but realised that I'd have to venture through a bit of very wet area to get where I wanted to go, so I retraced my steps and took the right fork. When I got close to where my GPSr was telling me I needed to go, there magically appeared a geo-trail to follow. The only slight downside to that was that a fair amount of the trail was submerged.
Oh well, as they say "nothing ventured, nothing gained"... I ventured, and I gained. I took a selfie with the container, and replaced as found. When I got back to the car My rain jacket had protected me to some degree, but the word "sodden" jumps into my head when I think of words to describe my footwear.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache and the AUSmer box gmj3191

As this cache is outside the current Covid-19 #stayathome area around Melbourne, it's now back on the map.
Melbourne is currently in Level 4 lockdown
The rest of Victoria is Stage 3 -Stay At Home
If you found this cache within walking distance of your home, go ahead and log it.
This is within the bounds of legitimate exercise.
If you found this cache by driving to it, you're interpreting the rules to your own benefit, and not the community's. You should not be travelling to exercise, and interpreting caching as exercise is a long stretch anyway (pun intended).
The cache will be Enabled when the Stay At Home requirement is lifted.

Mr & Mrs Boomajarril went out for the day with the two geo-dogs around Gisborne. With 3 DNF's and 9 finds was a most gorgeous sunny day. This was our first multi as a team. After getting the right co-ord we has using an old GPS unit so we ended up taking the long way round thru the forest to a dead-end. Ended up using google maps and GPS and phone, and thinking about where the co-ords was using brain power, to find the little sucker @ 12:07pm. Led in the right direction with all aids, it didn't take too long to hone in on GZ. Log was duly signed. Off to the bakery for lunch. TFTC
After finding the right route to reach the cache, we found it! One of the greatest in Victoria!
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
Although exercise is ok, beaches, parks etc are gradually being closed, and we are being asked to stay home.
The possibility to transmit the virus by surface contact exists, so why take chances?
At the end of the day, geocaching is a game, and we are dealing with a serious Public Health issue.
We need to get our priorities in order.
I believe the responsible thing is to disable all my caches, until the crisis passes.
Thanks.

Very cool cache that DarkGinger and I found together on a tiny roadtrip. Left a few fancy erasers and a sparkly ring, took a green Mardi Gras necklace. Great cache, excellent hide! Definitely a favourite point from me!

Found with CybergranV and her Muggle Hubby on our way home from the Geelong Christmas events.
Mum had her wish list and I had mine. We came together here for this large Jasmer cache and the icing on the cake was finding out it was gmj3191's first one placed. [^]
TFTC mate. It was a fun find and in bloody good nic for such an old boy.

Well that was a fun weekend, attending four events, finding a wide variety of caches, and catching up with lots of friends.
However all good things must end and it was time for Muggle Hubby and I to head homewards to get dalerious back to work by three.
But not before we find one more cache.
dalerious has been searching for older caches for his Jasmer challenge and we’ve both been looking for Large caches.
We acquired the necessary info and then made the detour back to locate the cache. Loved the contents, now that was an antique form of a library item. Most youngsters would have no idea how to use that!
I took two travel bugs from here to move them along.
Thanks for the great cache, the interesting stash, happy memories, and more smiley faces on our maps.
Sadly I’ve no more favourite points to allocate. This cache deserves another one.

Today was day 2 of the 2019 Bromance St Arnaud FIFO adventure with the plan to head from Melbourne towards the St Arnaud Mega, before returning to Ballarat for the night. Along the way we targeted virtual caches, oldies for our jasmer, some rarer DT's and other interesting caches with lots of favourite points.
Not every day, I get the chance to tick off a jasmer month. So this oldie was a must do as far a I was concerned. It also provided me with the perfect opportunity to prove my theory that all hire cars are indeed 4WD. (They also run fine with the oil pressure light on, but did not test that theory today). There may or may not have been a 50 point turn in the scrub. All good here. Most logs were signed"Bromance".
Many thanks gmj3191.

In town to attend the St Arnaud Handicap, The Bromance Plus (Seffnjaray, CrookedPete seffnjarah, JeznDez and SayWot!) flew in from Brisvegas. Day 1 was massive with 2.5 hours sleep, a healthy 5 hours and we were off for day 2.with a whirlwind bromance of caching, some more challenging than others. Thanks to all the owners for their dedication to the game by providing such great places to visit around the greater Melbourne area. We started today in Kew, got as far as Stawall, St Arnaud and back to Ballarat - a great adventure all around.
Logs were signed collectively for all as "Bromance" to save log sheet space.
Some caches need to be turned into Park and Grabs - this was one...well it was meant to be as far as I could see it. All those paper planners can't see the opportunity when it is placed in front of their faces! Unfortunately a log on the track meant it was little more difficult than expected. After a pinpoint 36 point turn by CrookedPete, we had the car back to the rest of the group with a wax and polish before you couldd utter the words "Drive-by"!
Thanks of the old cache. Trackable dropped.
Now where is that damn internet so we can google our way out of here!

The Bromance (seffnjarah, Crookedpete and Swellerfungus) conducted a successful fly-in-fly-out mission from Brisbane to Melbourne for last year's mega event at Parkville, and decided to return again this year for the The Bromance Mega FIFO Adventure 2019. With the addition of Dez of JezNDez as the all new-and-improved Bromance, and sayWOT? joining us as caching 457 visa holder, the expanded team flew in for 3 days of caching around Melbourne and regional Victoria, with a visit to the St Arnaud Mega thrown in.
After a better night's sleep than the first night in town, the team departed again, refreshed and raring to go at 5.30am. Caffeinated and feed at an early morning cafe on the outskirts of Melbourne, we headed off into the never never to visit this cache which was a Jasmer filler for Crookedpete and Dez.
As pre-trip planning coordinator I had identified a likely parking spot which appeared to offer many advantages - easy access to the cache, a good place to turn the car around and not dodgy track to navigate in a non-offroad hire car. As is so often the way, the "It Will Buff Out" mindset won out and the car ended up trundling along some dodgy section of track, getting further away from the cache. Dez, SayWOT? and I quickly bolted from the car and headed off to the cache while Crookedpete and Swellerfungus attempted to extract themselves from their predicament. With the logbook signed "The Bromance"to save space, the 3 of us made our way back to the intended parking spot to await the arrival of the others. Some distant shouts of alarm, indicated things were not necessarily going smoothly and we patiently waited, expecting to see various panels missing from the car. Surprisingly the vehicle was still in one piece (for now , but that's a story for a different cache) and we all jumped in to continue our meandering journey towards the St Arnaud mega event. TFTC

Day two of the Bromance Mega 2019 trip ended with a fair bit of wine for some of us, and a *lot* of thai food for all of us. After a good night we were all loathe to get out of our cosy beds to start day 3 (A.K.A Seffstival), but caches were calling, and the first on the list was a good distance away.
Luckily the decent warm up drive gave us plenty of time to get our tech sorted, Crookedpete to figure out the foibles of the hire car (oh that poor car!), and me to Google a much-needed coffee shop that was open at 5.30am! Luckily Google came through, as did Matt and Andy (purveyors of coffee and a birthday thickshake) and an obliging bakery provided the brekkie-carbs.
At GZ the hire car was given a further testing workout by Crookedpete, ably egged on by Swellerfungus, while Seff, SayWOT? and I cringed in the back, having visions of a banjo-playing Cletus closing in on our position and us having no means of escape! At least CP and Fungus have back-up careers as test-to-destruction drivers if needed! The large cache was easily found, and the log signed. Another oldie under the belt, TFTC!

A nice simple multi and then a nice little meander then bush bash to the final. I love finding some of these older caches. Thanks for keeping it alive.
Having completed the first part many, many moons ago, today I was targeting a multi and a puzzle so with Motndarg, we found ourselves on our way here. Oh wow, did we take the wrong turn in!!! Thank goodness we chose the correct geomobile for the purpose as we had to alight many times to check as to whether we would get through. Eventually we came to a standstill about 300m from the cache so we legged it from there. We found the cache exactly where the hint said it would be. It was super dry and protected. Thanks gmj3191 for this long ago placement......now to get out!
Out with McLookers this a.m. After checking the map we ended up taking the wrong road to GZ - oh boy, I would hate to think what this road would be like in the middle of winter! We had to check the various and many bog holes before proceeding. Fortunately our driver had done a 4WD course so did an excellent job in tackling this beastie road. Got to within 300m then walked to GZ where the cache was located - perfect co ords. Now have to tackle the journey back to the bitumen!!! Thank you gmj3191
After getting caught with a guy who owns that store he laughed and said geocashing haha then he went and told me this big story how all these people come to his shop and he wonderd why haha.
Nice easy multi here thank you I got here okay in my convertible if anyone was worried about there car. I couldn't suggest it when it's been raining alot though... The cache looks to be in great order nice spot.. thank you

Given the method of obtaining the required info for GZ, there is a certain irony in that only a month ago the WelderMobile blew a clutch leaving me stranded in Bacchus Marsh for 2 days.
I really could have done with the number of a car rental!
Now today I was 'in the area' (at Tullamarine), from bidding adieu to the better half me. It will be nearly six months until we reunite on the other side of the planet, so I thought it only appropriate to mark the occasion with a geo-memory...
Something grand...
Something like...
A JASMER!!
So off I went in the recently repaired WelderMobile, and pleasingly parked it's 2WD chassis to within around 40m of GZ.
I didn't pull out the GPS and instead decided to use pure geosense, lol. Naturally, I misread the angle of approach and typically went in the long way. Yet somehow my meanderings took me straight to GZ!
But...
I didn't think it was the place!!
So I searched every other similar feature for around for 15 minutes before I pulled out the GPS and BINGO!
LOL.
In a twist of fate, as I signed into the log and checked the time, a large jet rumbled overhead as it climbed into the skies.
On it was the love of my life.
Thanks so much, gmj3191.
It was awesome to find your very first cache. Everything is in perfect order here. And seeing when the container was replaced following fires here, it's encouraging to see all the regrowth.
Thanks again for the fun. It was the kind of memorable adventure I was looking for.

On our way from locating GC14HD4 and GC1J9VB, our GPS said turn left and we were still two kilometers from GZ, after transversing several bogs we finally reached GZ, after locating and signing the log we were off once again, after travelling a few hundred meters we were on a dirt road suitable for 2WD vehicles.
It just goes to show there is a better way of reaching GZ sometimes and not to rely on our GPS all the time
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

I had planned a big few days of caching in SA so I left work on a Tuesday evening and hit the road from Melbourne. This was my return journey on the Sunday and instead of chasing big numbers I was covering a lot of kms and targeting some specific caches to satisfy missing spots on either Jasmer or the Victorian LGA challenge. This was one I had identified before I set off from home as one of my missing Jasmer months. My 16th and final find for the day and I must admit I was flagging after 900km of driving and having zigzagged across the state. This was my final diversion as I cut through from the Western Freeway to pick up the Calder. I had done some pre-work on this one so was able to head to my calculated GZ. Things were conspiring against me somewhat as daylight was gone, I lost phone service and my GPS chose a bad time to be 50 to 100m inaccurate! In the end I parked pretty close and my torch happened across a likely spot that matched the hint and shortly after I had the cache in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some of my own trackables. Thanks for the cache and for helping to me to tick off another Jasmer spot gmj3191. I’m not sure how I hadn’t got up to this one before now but in any case it was good to put that right today.

Ahhhh, 20 degrees maximum, much better than the 43 degrees of yesterday so I headed out for a drive to get a few caches to help me qualify for numerous challenge caches I am working on. Even the rain showers today weren't going to stop me.
It was bucketing down rain at the start but managed to gather the clues from the comfort of the car. I then headed off into the jungle and the rain stopped just before I got there. Brilliant!
I managed to park about 70m away so after a short walk a quick find was made just as one of those annoying black jumping ants bit me ankle through my sock. Ow, they sting. Hopefully it recovers for my terrain 5 hike in the 30 minutes.
This ticks of my second last Jasmer square for 2002 and also ads one to my multi count so only 29 to go to be able to log the 500 multi challenge. And it's large as well so only 12 to go for my 100 large cache challenge as well.
Thanks gmj3191 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun. A favourite from me.

Out to grab a few more caches before the end of 2018 with Simsfamily and Neville Devil.
We made our way to Mt Macedon grabbing a variety of caches on route.
I'd done the sums a while back and was unsure if they were correct so as we were passing I had the chance to find out if the coords were correct. We ventured out to the likely location and "Bingo, there it is!
Great to see an early cache still active out in the wild.
Log signed and replaced as found.

What time do you leave home when you are heading to Mt Macedon for a night cache? 1 pm of course, there are always plenty of caches to be found on the way so you need the 8 hours to make the 1 hour drive .
With the coords previously calculated we headed to GZ. Ausfox; was doubting the positioning of GZ but if he had of read the cache notes again his fears would have been eased as we drove down the roads.
At GZ the cache was found in good time as some motor bikes noisily rode by.
Thank you gmj3191 for the hide

My first day caching in the Macedon Shire today. My plan was to spend the afternoon chasing some caches around Gisborne then to join in on a group effort to do the night cache on Mt Macedon.
We were up in Gisborne about a month ago to visit the local Sunday Market and after that i tried to do some caching in the area. We worked this multi out on the day but as it was raining and we were in the wifes' car we gave the final a miss.
I didn't know that i would be back in the area so soon, so today i was going to chase Ausmers and as many multis as i could fit in. This was one on my AUSmer list and as i was in my 4wd the dirt roads weren't going to be a problem ( or so i thought at the time, as i did cop a puncture just after getting this cache!).
But anyway, i made my way up to the parking area ok, a nice enjoyable drive through the bush. The smell of wattles flowering in the area was obvious as soon as i opened the door, and thx to great coords the gps lead me straight to it, a great size container and lots of natural cover protecting it. Well done gmj3191, a really great first cache and fantastic to still be around after all these years. Cheers.

What a beauty to start a couple of day caching trip! Dad and boy love the bush, and the travel bug was a bonus!
**Find #2089**
When I arrived at the starting point for this cache, a muggle lady emerged from the building and asked what I was doing. I explained that I was geo-caching and needed the phone numbers on her building for the final co-ords. She said she had a geo-caching friend and was always wondering why people would stop and take photos of the building. Anyway together worked out the final co-ords and I said my good byes. At Gz I had a 12m Error today but luckily the cache was quickly found. I meant to grab the TB, But left it behind. A really old Multi. This filled in another "find by Month" for me.
Thanks **gmj3191**

I had never set foot in Australia, it's stupid but it seems really far, Until Christmas 2016 where my daughter tells us that she will live two years in Melbourne, And here is a holiday scheduled for February 2018 (the good season for South East Australia)
For three days we visit the cultural capital of Australia, with its large glass towers, beaches, street art and the Chinese New Year bonus Then we visit
Then we head for Phillip Island where we meet our first kangaroos, little penguins and breathtaking landscapes. Walking is the best way to explore the Wilsons Promontory Nature Reserve. Nicknamed 'The Prom' by locals
A small flight by plane and here we are in the financial capital of Australia Sydney for three days with his famous opera his Sydney Tower of 309 m and his famous bay visited by boat We will make a small detour by the Blue Mountain before joining Melbourne by the coast through Australia Rock and our first seals and the Kiama Blow Hole
for the sequel will be the famous "Great Ocean Road" with the twelve apostle, Apolo bay and the peroquets that eat us in hand at Kafe Koala
Head to the Grampians with its waterfalls, aboriginal hinges and steep cliffs where we can see our first emus
Another plane ride to land in Hobat with 25 ° on the market and 6 ° at the top of Wellinton Mountain and 90km of wind We leave Hobart for the National Park Freycinet and its beautiful beach Winglass Bay and its 1250 steps to arrive at Cradel Mountain we have to walk more than four hours to get a woombat, The highlight of our trip will be the 3 hour boat ride on Brunny Island with its cliffs, seals and albatrosses, and a little white valabi on the way back

We (ok mostly GMelb) have decided that we would like to do the Jasmer challenge and so were down to the last 12 months that needed to be filled. Mostly GMelb because he is more adventurous than me and a lot of these last few are in fairly remote places as they are very early caches! Trips to St Andrews, Altona and Williamstown ticked off 3 and so today this cache was the target. We were on the way to Gisborne, on the phone to a friend when I heard a bip-bip in the background. After the phone call I checked the emails to see a cache published not far from home back in Melbourne... Bother... Oh well... Checked other emails & saw one that was 74km from home.... Hmmm wonder if it is near where we have just arrived in Gisborne?? Ohhhhh Woodend, that's only 20km from here! Let's get the info for this cache, have a quick loo stop, put the new cache on watch and be off! Well not before discovering we were now being half blocked in by the local Police car, lights flashing, they were doing a licence check on the car (according to the owner) which had parked next to ours ... think there was a bit more to it than that! We asked if it was ok to move our car out to which the Policeman replied in a stroppy voice "there's plenty of room" okkk, sorry for being polite and not wanting to get caught up in whatever was going on ... anyway remember this guy... So off we went and we were very lucky to get a FTF! Woooo, an FTF 76km from home!
OK back to this cache, we headed back to Gisborne as there was no short cut from the new cache to this one. Just as we were coming back into town we noticed a large queue coming out of town and flashing lights again and thought there was an accident. There were 2 cars stopped ahead of us in our direction. We then saw the same Policeman and it appeared he was directing traffic, so we went into the other lane to go past what we thought was an accident. WELL!! Wild waving arms and motions to come back into the other lane and he says "You can't go past, this is a breathaliser, it's not optional mate!" in a really rude manner... It had not been obvious to us at all that it was a breathaliser, no signs, PM standing in the middle of the road not over at the side (there was 2 lanes so plenty of room to do that) like it is usually done in Melbourne (whoops we’re real city dwellers aren't we lol) I think he thought that GMelb would blow a reading and had been trying to avoid it lol .... haha it was 0! I think the power has really gone to this guys head!
Anyway now truly onto the cache.... we thought we had already had our experience for this cache. HA! Well Karen - our GPS had OTHER IDEAS!!! So we followed her instructions... She took us down a dirt road which was fine, well graded, then she told us to turn right so we did .... um this is pretty corrugated for a 2WD road ... it's getting worse... it's actually getting a bit scary.... um let’s turn around! I was literally holding onto the side of the car, telling myself breathe, breathe!! Ok, finally back to better dirt road, look at the maps.... ahhhh that looks a lot better access!! Turn here, ahhhh much better, nice graded dirt road! Off to find the cache, hmmm lets find the best access point, looks like this is it .... THUMP THUMP THUMP, hopefully that gets rid of any slithery things!!! Finally, at GZ the cache was easily found, log signed and a half sigh of relief .... GMelb asks "feeling better now?" I answer "Not until we are back on the main road!!!!!" lol
Photo 1 (awful awful photo) was how we felt following the car GPS. Photo 2 after we told the car GPS off & went the right much better much more 2WD car friendly road lol So as per my facebook post ... Moral of the story is don't always trust the car GPS and if the cache page says there IS a 2WD road then ignore the car GPS & look at the maps lol
Soooooooo TFTC gmj3191.. (I think?? lol ... blame Karen!!) It ticks off another month getting the FTF in Woodend was a real bonus - GJMMelb

Time to go home today with the MEGA weekend behind us. We broke up the journey home with a few stops to find some caches with the kids. This one had been on our list for some time now, one being an oldie but also a large. We made the detour today to make a find on this one. We parked the geo wheels safely about 250m away today with all the camping gear we didn't want to get stuck. So very dry but a fun walk with the geo kids. We made the find quickly and grabbed the trackable that had been here for a while. Signed and replaced as found for the next cacher.
**Thanks to gmj3191 for placing this trad cache for us to find**

Needing this Cache for the Ausmer Challenge we pinpointed Gisbourne as our caching destination today. Plus it was also interesting, knowing we were doing your first hide from all those years ago.
With the clues noted we made the enjoyable trip to GZ where the cache was found in excellent condition where we found the fun swaps in the large container. We almost took a large one , but had nothing of same value to exchange with, alas.
Lucky the cache wasn't any further down the road as the track became impassable probably due to reckless 4WDer's . Thanks gmj3191 for sharing some stash in the Wombat Forest.

This was the last cache on our 'hidden month' list for our quick visit. We got the numbers easily and headed off toward GZ, backtracking about 10km as we came to town this way. Our GPS seemed to think fire trails and narrow tracks were appropriate to for a brand new rental. We didn't! We had to turn back at one point and work out another way. After a few attempts, we eventually got to the parking coordinates. After a short walk and a bit of puddle jumping, we made it. As we approached GZ we could see exactly where the hide would be. We were very happy indeed. Mission complete, with a few hours to spare (so we went and found a couple more). Of course we found a much, much easier road out. This had been the first time the GPS had let us down this weekend. Not a bad effort.
THE REPETITIVE BIT
We had planned a weekend in Sydney but the forecast was for rain. With Melbourne looking clear we changed our minds at 8.30pm Friday and came over on the 6.10am flight Saturday. Our aim was to fill in a few ‘placed months’. We picked up our first one in the suburbs then worked our way down to Sorrento, across to Queenscliff on the ferry and up to Sanctuary Lakes for the night. Sunday saw us start off at Point Cook before heading west almost to Ballarat, then across to Gisborne and back to the airport for our Sunday night flight home. 600km and 36 hours later we had achieved our goal, adding 13 placed months to our stats.
thanks for another good multi gmj3191, totally different to Artists Bluff yesterday.

Firstly, apologies for forgetting to log this cache for soooo long. Secondly, and most importantly, thank you for placing this cache and maintaining it for so long.
A group of us had headed up this way for an event. When checking caches on the way, this came up and as it was old and belonged to a friend of us all, it was a must do. We parked and walked toward the cache but once I realised that we could have driven closer, I went back and got the car for Adriaan as he was on crutches.
Again, so sorry for the seriously late log.

I'd spied this cache quite some time ago but never had the excuse to go and find it until....today. I do believe that this is one of three remaining multis placed by the CO that I have not found. I am glad to report that I have remedied this egregious state of affairs. I now have two left, both of which are needed for my placed month calendar (as if I really needed an excuse to go out and find any cache placed by this CO).
I will confess to having done absolutely no work to derive the co-ords as they were given to n0w0rries and I by OzHockeyChick after we ran into her, Papillion4506, GeoTurtle37, Lukie1987 and ahomburg. The drive to the cache was without incident and the container found in short order.
I think it fitting that I and n0w0rries found it shortly after the CO posted the fact that he had just had his 15 year caching anniversary. Happy anniversary, Geoff.

Whilst planning the weekend's caches, I noticed the date on this classic. As soon as I saw who owned it, it went straight onto our "must do" list.
Happy 15th anniversary GJ! Thanks for bringing us here to this lovely spot. A fav from me.

Out and about on a trip to Wedderburn with Lukie OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papillon4506. The aim was to get to the 9 months to Alexandra Mega event, but we also had some specific targets for LGA's and UBD Challenges as well as some historic caches like this one, the first of the day. We started out at 7.30 with a quick stop for coffee, then started gradually making our way towards Bendigo and beyond. Today would have to be pretty much all drive bys for me as I had gotten a little bit of gout a day or 2 before and was on crutches.
We noticed during the week that this was the legendary gmj3191's first cache hide, so it was added to the must do list. quickly gathered the required numbers at the first waypoint and with calcs done, off we went. with a wrong turn almost putting the lead vehicle in a dam, we eventually worked out where we needed to be, parking as close to GZ as possible. I still had to work my crutched for 60 - 80 metres through fairly rough terrain, but I made it eventually and by the time I arrived, the log book had already been signed. Phew, that was a little rough.
**Thanks to gmj3191 for the cache. TNLN. **

While planning our path of attack to the Wedderburn event, OzHockeyChick had noticed this cache. Immediately it went on our "to do" list. It was great to find this one so close to it's 15th anniversary. Congrats guys. A lovely area, so peaceful although a little difficult for one member or our expedition as he was on crutches. Such a shame that we didn't have time to spare but it is going to be fun to come back and explore more extensively. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Well this ended up being an adventurous day we left home at 7.30am picked up ahomburg along the way met up with ozhockeychick and papillon4506 and ended up finding a few along the way to the event in wedderburn.
We ended up going to the event heading out after to find a few more and headed into marybrough for dinner.
800k's and a full day of caching what an awesome day thanks heaps to all involved and thanks for bringing us here TFTC.

So glad we were able to come here so soon after your 15th geo-anniversary.
A favourite point from us.
It was nice to see you both today.

Meh, I don't know what happened here. I'll come back one day and find the large cache I probably stepped on whilst making this DNF log.

Everyone loves a large cache. This one is a beauty, but not a difficult find.
I almost missed getting back to catch my train for work, but had to tick this one off. If you are into swaps, then this one has an interesting collection. Try to follow usual etiquette and keep the quality up. Grabbed a TB to keep it moooving.
Thanks very much Feathertop.
