With today being a clear fine day, I thought I’d head on down to Tinchi Tampa Reserve to clear out a few Trads and sign the logs on some of the challenge caches in the area as well.
I spent a good 4 hours wandering the trails and I walked about 12 km’s in total (I’ll feel that in the morning) It was my first time coming here, even though I’ve lived in the area for the past 5 years. This is why I enjoy caching so much, it takes you places you wouldn’t usually visit.
The scenery was stunning, especially around the water and the amount of Kangaroos I saw was amazing! They would just sit and watch me until I got a little too close, then they’d hop along.
All in all it was a great afternoon hunting caches.
Contents were drenched. The log was stuck to the bottom of the container, so I was unable to sign. Had to be stealthy as there was a family fishing right by GZ.

Picture perfect day today! I must admit I went the wrong way to this cache and ended up face to face with a roo that wasn’t expecting me to disturb his sleep. Quickly ran for a tree and then cut through the swamp back to the trail. All up a great experience - TFTC
Part I of the Tinchi Tamba wetlands mystery tour
On foot today after a stop nearby to permit a bloke to try and rio me off. Epic fail on his part, only served to slow me down in getting over to look for these caches. Started with the river walk and tricky hides also slowed me down. Can see it may be quicker to come back with the bike and have another run at it
This may have been the easiest of a tough lot.

Nice view and boardwalk! Didn’t take too long to find the cache, but I had to wait for passing muggles. Log a big soggy, but I signed and replaced as found. TFTC!
There are some challenge caches nearby in the wetlands, I was keen to find them but decided I better stay on the boardwalk. Cheers

We are staying with our daughter as Deception Bay and have spent what spare time we have teaching our grandson all about geocaching, at 18 months he certainly knows what a cache is. SL TFTC
This was the first cache up along this little trail. Had to think about the hint, but the GPS pointed me in the right direction! TFTC
Surprised that I was allowed to ride the bike on these tracks.
Had a look on the way out but too much traffic, on the way back I could grab the cache and sign the log
Thank you for this hide

This one took Swearah and I longer than it should have but we have been paddling for a while! TFTC!
Grabbed this one with krcamber after a nice afternoon paddling. I have cache blindness today it seems but krcamber was onto it after a bit of a search. TFTC
Nicely done landkg found as the sun sets on a warm night its so quiet here just me and nature had a sneaky fish and now home for dinner TFTC
We found this one while on the trail for some challenge caches. Nice one. Thankyou Landkg for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area
Hi there Landkg.
Today's Bruce persuaded us to log some challenge caches. It will be easy he said, just a stroll along a boardwalk!! Well we left the boardwalk pretty early in the day and strolled around the tracks and through the long grass, vines and spider webs to log some challenges (and a few traditionals as well). All up we found 17 caches & DNF'd 0 in this cache run.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

To end a long day of strolling around the wetlands,
fortunately not in actual rain
I took a wander out along the boardwalk to find this little trail of caches
First stop here,
where I soon had me eye on the cache

Another easy one, although the cache was a bit exposed. We managed to make it nice and snug in its hiding spot before we left
Quick and easy find. Out for a few caches for the day, month challenges, 15 years of unloved and finish our dt grid. TNLN. TFTC.

Soo much log books signed today, so few smileys though.. almost heartbreaking.. Me and the geo-pup did over 12km today getting different caches in this area.. Its fair to say that I think today was my geo-pup's favourite caching day due to all the roo's around (she would literally do anything to get to each and every one- needless to say my arms got a good workout holding her back).
Great cache, added a new log in a ziplock bag to this one

After racing around like a mad thing today with barb bowman and Mrs JAT to complete the 25 unique D/Ts in a day - this was my final cache for today’s adventure. I’ve visited here before when the cache was missing in action, so I was very pleased to find its replacement here. TFTC Landkg

Oh my!! Second time looking and found so quickly this time but thank heavens for tethers!! Clumsy me would have ended up very muddy indeed!
I had my gumboots on because I was chasing another cache and hoping to find some mud or slop to wade through. I left with a tear in my eye and hoped this one would provide the entertainment I needed.
Once I came up empty-handed with the rest stop I couldn't wait to get down and enter the fray and look under the deck. There appeared to be a bit of muck and corruption that looked like fun. Just as I was about to descend into the depths I noticed a pathetic little sign that said the area was closed. I was by myself and almost decided to take the law into my own hands, but then I spotted the hide. Foiled!
I grabbed the log out and sat down to sign it just as a muggle appeared and asked me where the end of the deck was. I couldn't quite remember how far it went on for, but I returned the log faster than the Flash to avoid embarrassment on his return leg. tftc

#4384. I flew over to Brisbane this morning for a conference next week. But gave myself a few days of leave before the meeting to do some geocaching. Headed out this way to pick up some challenge caches but while out here I was also planning on picking up any nearby traditionals. Went for a nice wander down this walkway beside the tidal river. This should have been easy but I immediately had a different type of cache hide in mind so searched hard for that. Eventually broadened my thinking and then spied the cache. Obvious if you keep an open mind (something I don't seem to have learnt yet). Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Landkg.
Note Wellington is hosting the "Wellington Geocaching Event 2018" on 21-22 October 2018. Hope to see some Australian cachers over there and give it a chance to become a Mega.

Out with wombles and co today to get some smiles. This one Mrs Wombles got a fair while ago, so it was like visiting it for the first time again. Finally managed to get this one every time I have been here in the past it was disabled. Glad I can change this green dot to a yellow smile. TFTC
Quickly found today as I had looked a while back before it was replaced. A couple of people fishing nearby but they didn't even turn their head to see what I was up to. Signed log and replaced cache as found. TFTC
I was in Brisbane today and as I was not working today, I decided that I should grab the remaining caches in this area that I had not attempted previously.
This was one of several found.
After signing the log, it was returned to the cache and the cache replaced as found.
All is good with this cache.

Clever hide. I took a walk in the marshes afterward and saw a lot of 'sea asparagus'. Didn't have to search for long to find the cache. TFTC.
We made our way to this one next.
Relatively quick find for me. It's never in the first place I look ever but this one was.
Log signed and replaced as found. All good with this one.
Its a pretty warm day and the little fella was getting tired at this stage so Benny and mum decided to make their way on to the sand up the track a bit from from here whilst I push on.
Thanks for placing this cache here Landkg.
This makes find number 405 for us. Cheers

In the area with geo friends to do some monthly challenge caches and thought we would swing by and do this one then work our way around to do the others. Enjoyed this good hide and there were no muggles in sight whilst retrieving, thanks Landkg and TFTC
Cache was nice and simple, although we did accidentally drop a googly eye from the cache into the mud facepalm so Em had to jump down and get it. Lucky there weren't many muggles here this afternoon! TFTC, all in good condition.
Spotted the cache but had to wait between muggles to retrieve it. Beautiful spot. TFTC
Maybe the CO could have a look at this one. We had a thorough search and it seems to be missing.

Almost didn't grab this as I was looking at my offline list and it showed as disabled last time I was here. Glad I updated. As the storm clouds started to build I made a quick dash and was grateful that perhaps those clouds had meant people had left early. It wasn't long before I had cache in hand and log signed. Now will I get time to clear the last couple of caches further up?... Thanks for the cache Landkg.

Tried on the way in very hard to find it ... and on the way out once more, when we met the Team Maud. They were still searching when we left, but obviously not successful. I put it on my watchlist and will come back once somebody else found it. Tftc
We tried really hard to find this and even had a 2nd look on our return with no joy. Was certain we knew where it would be but no luck. See now it has been disabled. Will come back when replaced.
Dr Hunting Rabbit signed the log whilst collecting the "Can you spell..... challenge" series with WTF21, RoddyC, and Nadine1989. It was a nice day caching and the rain held off. Many logs were signed but only a handful we qualify for. At least we have something to work towards and had some good traditionals to claim smileys on. Dr Hunting Rabbit spotted this one and WTF21 retrieved it. TFTC Landkg
We were in the Tinch Tamba Wetlands today to take some friends (Nadine1989, The Hunting Rabbit and WTF21) through the Monthly Challenges series, and needed to justify our daily cache by finding a few we had passed over about a year ago when we were here. It was a nice walk along the board-walk today, and hardly any mozzies to annoy us.
It didn't take too long to find this cache, and names were added and the container returned to its position.
Found at 12.45pm on 5th March 2016. TFTC.

Decided on a morning walk around Tinchi Tamba. Covered myself in sunscreen and aerogaurd and wasn't bothered at all by the mozzies. Arrived at GZ and this took longer than it should have to find. I arrived with an idea of what I was looking for but I was completely wrong. So once I got that out of my head I eyed the cache quite quickly.
Left a bracelet as I don't like seeing caches this size empty. TFTC enjoying this walk.

I met up with Dutchie1950 and Mrs Just a Trifle this morning to find my 2000th cache. I needed a few more numbers first and this was the second one on our stroll around the wetlands. Took us a bit of searching but eventually Dutchie1950's keen eye spotted it.
# 1275 - Out for the hunt today with Rhyssa6 and Mrs Just a Trifle. Rhyssa6 is going to find her 2000th cache and we want to 'witness' the event!
But first a few to lead up to the magical number... Spotted this after I had widened my horizon a bit.

1821 - Late this afternoon I was called in to participate in a couple of games of sport at a local centre and afterwards I needed to find a cache to continue my continuous streak by another day. I headed back out to the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands as there were a few options in here to grab one. I parked in the car park and as expected, at this time of night, I was the only one present. I walked along the boardwalk on a dark but clear and breezy night, and soon began searching. Before long i was passed by three fisherman muggles who must have been as surprised to see me as I was to see them. I saw their lights approaching so I stopped searching and made it look like I was admiring the peaceful location. Whilst I was waiting I thought of another hiding place to look at and when the coast was clear I found the cache here at 9:32pm. Thanks for another cache in this great wetland area Landkg.
Menstrieben and Mentrietash was still looking around for these when I spotted it right where Ben was standing. Nice easy find tfth!
I visited here a while back before I became a geo cacher, would never have thought to look for such a thing especially as we were almost being carried away by the mozzies that day, lots of repellent today made it much nicer, tftc
Literal name of the cache Had given up & was leaving & took one more glance & it winked at me. TFTC
After checking over and under a seat, mo luck, then went a nit further under and there it was, resting in the shadows
Nice easy find. Lots of people on the boardwalk today so had to wait for my chance to get it. Really enjoyable walking route. Thanks for the cache.
