I checked every likely piece of quartz. No sign of it. No find for 2 years, might be time for a check on it
I spent quite a bit of time here and overturned every rock I could see, but nothing. I suspect it is probably there, but I managed to miss it. Oh well.
I turned over every bit of quartz within 10m but not the right bit! Ah well another day at the diggings with no return.
We had DNF'd this one a while back on a previous visit. At least with our knowledge from that visit we were able to make it a drive-by this time. A very well camouflaged cache.
Out and about today with Rebel Acts on a loop that took us out through South Gippsland and down to the coast before returning home via Yarram.
We traveled through some undulating farmland with some great views before hitting the coast with some walks along the beach.
Some roads we had never traveled before and others not for quite some time.
There were a variety of hides and cache sizes, it being a tough and long day with a number of DNFs before getting home well after tea time.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache FlyingPigSquadron.

This is one of the caches found today. Finally we found this one, it was apart but we put it all back togeather, log is dry and cache ok, coordinates are about 6m out.
Logs Signed as RASP Rebel Acts and Ski Pair
Thanks FlyingPigSquadron for the cache.

was absolutely determined to find this cache today. It's the anniversary of my mum's passing and I wanted distraction and to do something 'nice.' Didn't know best attack but went with parking at water plant. Total distance about 1.6km return. I looked and looked and looked and then called for help. Thanks FPS. GPS took ages to settle but was then pretty correct. Think it was the only quartz I hadn't touched! Thanks for bringing me here and showing me this piece of local history and learning about a puddler. Side note, had to walk around some pretty big puddles today on my walk to GZ. It was awesome
FlyingPigSquadron has landed! Still in place - Replaced log book. Good to go
Unfortunately until lock down to regional areas is lifted we cannot undertake maintenance as we no longer live in the area. We will check the cache as soon as it is reasonable to do so
It was a glorious winter's day to be out and about exploring this beautiful part of the state. We parked up the top of the hill near the Water Treatment Plant and wandered down to look for this cache. We arrived at GZ and started the process of looking. We looked and looked. We checked the GPS's and looked again. We read the hint. We read the cache notes. We read all the logs. We expanded our search area. We picked up every piece of quartz, and both had run-ins with the sword grass. We spent around forty minutes looking and effectively grid searched a 10-meter radius. There is a lot of bracken and fern growth around the coordinates, so maybe we missed it, but today we were beaten by the cache. Back to Back DNFs!
We found this one a while ago but I’m finally catching up on on old logs. We walked up and found the puddler reasonably quickly, but then got a bit stuck, sidetracked by the spinny thing and many beautiful quartz rocks. Eventually the geokid did the logical thing and soon located the cache, after which the literal clue made sense! Thanks for placing this cache - we love finding hidden bits of history
We were lucky with the weather today but coming back from this cache we got DRENCHED! “Quartz key”?? Hmmm I think we found it. I don’t want to give anything away so that’s all I’ll say. TFTC
Found by Mary and David at 08:50. The temperature is up to double figures, and the rain has stopped. Happily, the track has a lot of grip so, having lost the toss, David proceeded up, up and up. Found the cache first, then spied the puddler through the bracken just a few metres away. A fascinating relic. Great cache notes too, so overall wort a FP. Our thanks to FlyingPigSquadron.
This is an interesting place. Glad to come here and see this old relic from the mining past. The cache was hard for us because it was very thick cloud and I had never had such bad directions from both the phone and gps as on this day. I may as well have been using a divining rod to locate caches today. Very frustrating.
Camped at Dumbalk after returning from Tasmania yesterday. Out for a few caches today. Fifteenth for the day, quick find. TFTC
Almost lost history, but this cache has given it life again.
Found the way to wonthaggi pre new year's event. (the day before it).

Found with gwd.aussie while on a caching weekend down to Wonthaggi to attend a couple of events. Quite a warm day but we still made our way to the gz and after a short search we had the cache in hand. There were certainly a few possibility of where the cache could be hidden but where geosense meets hint that is where you will find it.
Thanks FlyingPigSquadron for brining us to this hidden slice of history

A weekend away planned to Foster, Sandy Point and Walhalla. Saturday morning Bunadoorian and myself set off on an adventure. First on the list that we saw close to us while having breakfast was Puddling round New Zealand. After the walk up the hill from where we parked the car we had a good fossick around and our geoknowledge kicked in to the clue and Bunadoorian luckily found the cache. Thank you FlyingPigSquadron for placing this cache. # 2 of 10 for the weekend.
Fossicing around for a while with Grub62 until I trusted the GPS and located the cache. It was a steep walk up to GZ from where we parked but some good views and a slice of history to boot. TFTC.

After leaving Wilson's Promontory, we decided to check out some of the cool locations along the coastline before heading back to Foster for the night. What a lovely place to explore - so much history here to be found. Thanks for the cache FlyingPigSquadron.

Enjoyed the walk glad i didn't try getting my wife to this hide in her wheelchair as goin up from the main road would have been a challenge but coming down would have been a thrill for her.. Lol my Tbs paid a visit..
I didn't actually read the cache description before arriving at gz for this one, so it was quite a surprise to find the old puddling site hidden in the shrubbery. We love being brought to this forgotten slices of history so this cache definitely gets a favourite point from us. The cache itself was a quick, easy find and after admiring the puddler we were soon on our way back to the car to continue our journey. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
#1345 Day 2 of the Great Vic Bike Ride and an overnight stop in Foster. This was a bit tricky as both the phone and the gps were bouncing around in about a 9 metre diameter for GZ. After looking here, there and everywhere for about 10 mins we were on the verge of giving up when one last attack was launched. At last success.. TNLNSL (note the log was very wet although still quite intact and able to be signed with my special pen) TFTC FlyingPigSquadron.
Found with aqau on a day out in the south Gippsland area.
Thanks FlyingPigSquadron

A bit further up the road as we left Foster behind this also looked interesting. Thought we could drive up the unmade track in the geoSube but one of the gutters blocked the way so we got out and walked the rest of the way to GZ. We were looking around for a while when Mrs LZZ noticed the cache at 13:25, It was in mud-caked pieces lying in the open. Fortunately the log was was still signable, so we repaired and replaced the cache, hopefully close to where it was intended. Thanks FPS
nice reserve. visiting this area so nice to also grab a few caches as well. (not sure what she thinks im doing running all over town like this.)
Great history lesson after being in Walhalla yesterday this is a good follow up thanks for bringing me here Tftc
Too distracted with the wheel to think logically with this one. Was on the verge of giving up when the geocaching brain kicked in. Very good cache. Found with djl77. Tftc
Lovely bit of Foster history, I was born here and left when I was 12 and I had no idea it was there.
Almost had thrown in the towel until Sambazoid77 made the find. TFTC

Found on our last day in Fish Creek. We parked at the bottom of the hill so that we could quickly dash up the hill and across to GZ. Once we got there, it was a reasonably quick find - very muddy find on a rainy day, but a very nice hide! Awesome little artefacts within a very lovely reserve. TFTC FlyingPigSquadron!

A lovely afternoon beckons so we took off for an afternoon caching around the Foster area.
After a walk along the track, and then arrived at the location, found the cache okay.
On returning to the track met with a couple of Tasmanian cachers who were also looking for this cache.

Passing by on our way to Lakes Entrance and picking the eyes out of caches with higher D/T ratings. Heading towards that cache and bumped into other cachers returning from their find. Great to stop and chat and then on to GZ area. Fortunately we had a cache that was almost identical to this one so we had a quick find.

Great disguise fits in well with surrounds never would've known this machinery was here so thanks for bringing up here
We enjoyed the walk up New Zealand Hill. The phone had us quite a few metres away from GZ. Some tracks into the scrub had us searching the wrong spot for a while. A bit further along, we found the more likely spot. We were caching with a family friend (verno04) whose keen eyes spotted the prize. So cool to find and learn about the puddlers. Something we never would have discovered without geocaching. Thanks FlyingPigSquadron for the info and the hide! Really enjoyed the experience.
Had to make a choice...go to the Mega for a second day or keep frmen1 company (was called into work). I chose the latter and decided to fill in some of the day caching. Parked on Reservoir Rd and walked in. Saw 2 wallabies, 1 echidna, lots of wildflowers and no snakes (bonus). Gps had me 9m out. Got distracted by the rotating metal work. Finally found. Thanks for the walk. Was glad that I'd fuelled up with coffee and cake before climbing the hill back lol. TFTC
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Found this one today. We probably approached it from the wrong angle as a fair amount of bush bashing was involved. Despite the fact there is meant to be no 4WD in the area it is clearly used by some for this as the trenches churned into the ground were quite deep. TFTC
Visiting Foster and surrounds for the weekend so as normal we used caching as our de facto tour guide. This was the first cache we found today and quite an easy find it was too. Hmm, which one could it be? Eeny, meeny, miney, moe . . . Luckily we picked the right one before needing to continue with this less than PC rhyme!

Made our way to GZ, and after a short search the cache was located.
We were amazed at the structure at GZ, its a pity it hasn't been preserved.
Many thanks for placing this cache, FlyingPigSquadron, for us and others to find.

After doing a job just past Foster, I came back to find this cache.
I found the cache in good condition and I signed the log.
A very interesting read about the area, when and if I get time, I will come back and do some more exploring.

A pleasant enough afternoon, so a spot of geocaching was in order. Last one for the day on the way home. Nice piece of Foster history after a pleasant walk. TFTC
A big day out caching with friends Liz & Bruce in the Fish creek to foster area. On our bikes mostly along the rail trails and some along the way. Mostly they were fairly easy finds and the co-ords very good. Thanks to FlyingPigSquadron for hiding this cache.
Today was rail trail day so with two foldup bikes in the car we were on a mission plus our additional aim was to do some of the other caches around this scenic and delightful area. This was one of the caches we targetted and were able to find in conjunction with caching friends LazzaL. An interesting location and gets a fav point. Thanks to FlyingPigSquadron.
Found on our "Making Memories" Tour of Mainland Australia.

We are on a short holiday from Bendigo to Bermagui with a couple of nights in Port Welshpool on the way home. Apart from the great weather and beaches we wanted to collect caches in the maps we were missing for the Victoria Country Road Atlas Challenge GCY98X.
We have Spotty Wot with us. She has cached for years with our daughter as well as with her aunts and has now started logging in her own name.
This was our last day of caching while we travelled around Toora and Foster on a wet miserable day.
Mr Morris was in the mood for some 4x4 driving today so off we went. Very interesting and nice spot in the bush but the cache needs some love as the bag has broken and its a bit damp.

Out riding my MTB in the area today and recalled a cache with an odd name. I had ridden past GZ up the steep hill and was happy to cruise back to the interesting area. Found the hide and managed to write my name on the damp log. Thanks to FPS for placing at cache at this cool spot.

With the sun beginning to dip down low on the horizon we had time for just one more cache before daylight was gone. We parked on Ameys track and wandered off up the hill. Sounded like there are a few roo's in this bit of bush, they were making quite a bit of noise. We located the puddler and had a bit of a look around before I came up trumps. I do think I fluked it though!!
A nice clever hide, and a great bit of history. We enjoyed coming to this spot. Thanks FlyingPigSquadron.
