I really enjoyed this small series. Thank you for showing me this walking track and beautiful views
The 4th cache on a 10km run up the hill in the hope of seeing some kangaroos. The run and hunt for caches were a success, the Roo Hunt - not so much.Greetings from Oxfordshire, England. Cache find number 1925.
Great view of the lake and down to the south. The 1920 photo on the info board shows how much damage we can do to a pretty fragile environment by chopping down everything in sight. The present-day view shows that we can fix it up again with a fair bit of effort and commitment. The result is about 6 sq km of revegetated native bush that is open for enjoyment by both people and wildlife and which is only a couple of km from the CBD. This is why I love living here.TftC
It was a nice walk to get this catch. Really enjoyed going up and diwn the rocky gullies. TFTC
Wait viewing platform .Cache nicely hidden .Enjoy the views over the lake .Many thanks for the hide.
Isn't it funny how walking on the track is so much easier....
Quick find - but only after I took a photo of the view. We do live in a beautiful city.
Lots of little birds around.
From here I walked back on the track to the middle car park. The track is quite narrow at times before it crosses the big track to the car park.
By now the sun was going down. I had timed this well.

Beautiful view in this area, and a nice place for a quick breather (while making a sneaky cache grab)
TFTC!
TFTC!
TFTC. It’s a lovely winters day for geocaching. Sun is out, wind is not bitterly cold.
Almost the end of the track fro me today. A nice find with a great view! A Favourite point for the entire track, awarded here. TFTC
With the day off today I decided I better make good use of my time! Thanks for bringing me here!
Headed out early this morning to beat the crowds. Entered the reserve just before sunrise to the amusement of the kangaroos grazing nearby and began my circuit. It was a beautiful view from the lookout at this time in the morning. Cache quickly located and logged. TFTC.
So cool to finally get this one. All good with cache. Been a lovely day.

Lifetime in Canberra, trekked all over black mountain, yet have never been to this lookout, gorgeous
Cache 8081 on 6 Sep 2021.
After a wet weekend and stopping home anyway, the blue skies today could not be resisted, so I abandoned work at lunchtime and headed out to Black Mountain for some sun and exercise. A long walk up and down the hill, and collected a few trads along the way. All were found easily and in accordance with the hints. I am getting to know Black Mountain much better than I would have thought, no bad thing!
Thanks bubble & squeak for the cache and the fun!

A beautiful 2.8km return walk up this track today to visit the three cache locations. A surprisingly pretty trail with a lovely view of the lake from the lookout at the end - another hidden gem in Canberra. Cache was found without issue and is in good, dry condition.
Thanks, bubble & squeak - very enjoyable.

Superb views indeed and an intact snake skin nearby measuring a metre or so made me think a bit when retrieving the cache! The second log inside is quite damp but usuable & I contributed a tiny plastic bag to keep it safe. Incidentally, noise cancelling headphones would make this spot even more beautiful!! Tftc
3rd cache along here at the great lookout. My Muggle friends, much to their amusement, watched me work my way down through the grass to find and sign the log. “Is the what you do to find caches?” If only they knew. Thank you bubble & squeak for putting the cache at this lovely spot.
An early start after spending the night in Quenbeyan. A few caches here in NSW and then back into the ACT for some lab caches and a CITO. After the event up Black mountain for a bit more caching.

I was out with my Muggle Mates for a walk through the tracks here before we had breakfast at the Botanical Gardens.
The last one for the morning, before we had to back track to the gardens for our booking for breakfast.
My Muggle Mates enjoyed watching me wade through the long grass (looking out for snakes for me) as I made my way to the stump. It was a quick find and sign and returned to the look out and then off to breakfast. Tftc bubble & squeak!!!

OWWWWW!!
Was what I was saying after we got the cache. I was wearing sandals and the thorns hurt! Spent 15 minutes picking them out.
Aside from that by far the best hide of the black meadow series!

Was walking across this track with noooty this morning! Perfect temperature and thorns everywhere but still worth it! Thanks to all the cache owners!
Found at 9:48:00 AM out on a day hiking and caching with JmanJezza
We started out doing a multi-cache on the mountain and passed by here along the way. It was a beautiful view from here as the fog had cleared. Great spot.

Well finally made it to this surprising Meadow ran up from Caswell Drive to find the cache and enjoy one of Canberra’s best and most unexpected views TFTC. A fave point from me.
Walked Black Mountain countless times but never stumbled on this beautiful spot - thank you!
Wow not many people have found this cache. I decided to give it a little love today and find it. Thanks bubble & squeak for Black Meadow cache.
Out with GreyHams for a morning of caching, we met at Black Mountain to find a few caches including a couple of puzzles and multis that have been calling to be found for a while now. Started off a nice peaceful walk following along on the trails and over the little bridges in the cool of the early morning, and then we left the path! Got a good work out as we headed across to the final cache in the area before dropping back down and taking the flat paved path back to our cars, not recommended but worked out okay for us.
A variety of different caches for the day, puzzles, multis, bush bashing, river trails and finishing off with some country driving and some park and grab power trails before grabbing some lunch and finishing the day with some well timed FTF's.
The walk across to this one was quite good really, especially with what we faced after it! Great views from the cache and the lookout, pity about the dust in the air from the day before but appreciated the outlook any way and was very nice and calm in the early morning. Thanks for the cache bubble and squeak, have been wanting to get out to this one for a while so good to tick it off, nice spot.

Aquilus1 and I spent another half day out caching, doing some hard bush bashes on Black Mountain, in the end it was easiest just to walk out via Parkes Way... though probably not the safest. After that slog it was time for easy multi's and power trails. The HJ's for lunch didn't disappoint, that's for sure.
This was the easier of the Black Mountain caches.... before the horribleness started...

A surprisingly low number of finds on this cache given it has been here 6 years!
Goes to show that the ones with slightly longer walks are less found, given the other trad near the carpark has more than 3x the amount of finds and was only hidden a year before!
Found this cache today whilst doing a nearby multi. Never knew there was a lookout here either! So many parts of Black Mountain I am yet to visit.
Thanks bubble & squeak, cache found in good condition

Found while out for a walk on the mountain. On my way to GZ I saw some of the small pink orchids in bloom. Once at GZ I soon had CIH. Light rain started on my way back to the car. Only saw one other person out on the track. TFTC.
JohnnyBoyACT and I went in search of geocaches in Black Mountain Reserve and Bruce Ridge today. The weather was fine although cool and we visited some interesting spots where, despite decades in Canberra, neither of us had ever ventured. In all, I added 19 caches to my tally. This cache was a straightforward find, being in an obvious place on the coordinates. The view over Lake Burley Griffin is fine! Thank you bubble & squeak for installing and maintaining this cache.
Caching morning with ZimbaW. A bit of rain and cobwebs weren’t going to stop the signing of this log!
F(H)ound It! #2370 - @ 9:20 AM
JM383 and I spent a fun and successful morning caching up and down and around ...and back up again, on the slopes of Black Mountain.
We followed the trail up, winding through the bush. As we arrived at GZ a very light misty rain was falling which was quite pleasant. What a lovely view from here. JM383 insisted she didn't want to swallow a spider, after she had walked through several webs
Thanks for the cache, bubble & squeak

On a 15 km double lap of Black Mountain on a very hot day with Walking For Pleasure. There were 11 of us on the walk and when we got to the lookout for a brief stop I pulled out my phone in anticipation of finding a geocache and I wasn’t disappointed. Found the cache easily to the entertainment of my walking companions. TFTC - the only one found today (I’m sure I passed several others along the way...)
With four days off and a friend who just days ago moved to braddon from bathurst it was time to catch up. An early start to show him canberra as i enjoy it and cache along the way.
Parliament house, lake burley Griffin, kambah for lunch then along to condor then up the black tower via paddys river and mount stromlo before finishing off such a long day at mount Ainslie.
Everytime we go to black mountain the views get better and better.

Tftc. Great walk to here with abundant wildlife to see and fantastic view points. Quick find just before dark. Great cache.
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
