Logs
After attending a friends memorial in Geraldton we are heading back to Perth to drop CrackerGirl off at the airport. We still had a bit of time to fill in so we are chasing lga's and challenge caches to fill in the day before she has to leave. We headed off to another lga and another very nice little park that we would not have known existed without this cache. As we approached gz we spotted four red tail black cockatoos just flying around looking quite good. Our co-ords today had it out a little bit but the hint made it quite easy and the cache was found right where the hint suggested but unfortunately logbook is a little bit soggy. We were able to add our names to log and then return everything as found. Thanks for showing us this nice park and the hide.
Found it thanks to the detailed hint and previous logs. GPS if a bit off In need of maintenance as it is only sealed one end and rusting. Looks like the container has been switched out as it doesn't resemble the name/series any more. Tftc
This one needs some TLC as log is unprotected in rusty container and open to elements on one end.
Out with axell33 and caching in this area today. We had to check this clever and rustic hide out before we were sure! Good one! Thanks for the hide here Grammie & Grumpy!
Out enjoying a day of caching and we stopped for this one. We enjoyed the the short walk to gz and after a few minutes searching we spotted something and sure enough there it was. We made our mark on your log and returned your cache as we found it. It blends in nicely, favourite point coming up when I get a fresh batch delivered. TFTC Grammie & Grumpy.
Not a quick find as my GPS was off about 10m. Looked at the spoiler photo which helped to track it down. Thanks for the hide.
This was quite an easy find with the help of the hint. Log is dry and cache in good condition, so the need maintenance note can be removed. It started to rain after I returned the cache. Thankfully there is a nearby playground for shelter… TFTC
After reading the hint I wasnt sure what to expect. My GPS had me a bit off but after widening my search I came up trumps with the cache and a smile - thanks for placing this Grammie & Grumpie
Own on the southern side of the river today , collecting a few smilies around . This one has searching for a while, so after reading the logs , used the spoiler photo and all good here. TFTC
I couldn't find the others in this series but I found this one thanks to a lot of help from the hints and the logbook. TFTC
Found about 13m from my gpsr's gz.
Certainly helps to read the logs.
Went down the wrong path as well
Eventually found the right tree and spotted something unusual.

Found with little issue, more like stumbled across it.
Cache in need of attention. Cache has no bottom and is completely rusted. Cap still provides some protection.
No log visible even with some poking in the hole with some tweezers.
Water proof log placed inside.
Thanks for the hide Grammie & Grumpy

After doing another cache in this series near by I realised that it doesn’t fit in with this hide nor the spoiler photos for that matter.
I came back as I was concerned that maybe I hadn’t actually found the cache.
I followed the directions which led me to the exact tree where I found the suspect cache.
Has someone swapped this out for something else for some reason?

I went out a month ago to try and find this one, but gave up presuming all the DNFs below were the issue, however I found what you did, Gumnut6160! No log there so I assumed it wasn't supposed to be the cache..
Out for some caching today practising our social distancing and frequent hand sanitising. Actually my hands have seen more alcohol lately than my stomach!

Would never have found this without all previous hints so thanks one and all! Finally grabbed before the next shower set in.
Found after a extended search and looking at recent photos we were able to narrow the search and soon found the find. Probably would be easier during the day . Thanks for placing.
This took quite a bit to find as where we were pointed didn’t match the hint and when we followed the hint seemed to be too far from where we were being pointed.
I started to read some logs and as I found some suggest coordinates I C Nothing called out found it, very close to where the new coordinates were sending me.
Thanks Grammie & Grumpy for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 2089 for me.

Not quite the real thing but nearly. Thanks, Grammie & Grumpy, we made a quick find using the coordinates mentioned by previous finders 091/354.
The clue helped a lot as my iPhone had me looking some metres away. Thanks for the cache.
Find 6 of 30 with 2 DNFs on a pleasant, sunny bike ride centred on Leeming and Willetton. Today's fun was mainly sponsored by Paskersfind.
Winner of the most frustrating cache of the day. Tried our GZ for a bit, and to make it fit the hint. No luck there, so we read logs, looked at images, set a new waypoint etc. Even with that weight of info this still took a few minutes to uncover. Hats off to anyone who found this without all that info! The co-ords are certainly out, the replacement ones are much more accurate. The hint makes some sense if you start at the correct basketball court! Eventually the cache was uncovered.
Many thanks for the cache, Grammie & Grumpy

Find #257 of 365 streak. A hot day to be in the bush but I have to keep the streak alive. This one took effort. As per previous logs GZ was off by 10 plus metres.
Using the photos I got myself a likely spot. Still took me 20mins and a lot of sweat to finally lay my hands on it.

The clue works bit it does not make much sense until you find it.
Coordinates were way out.
End with 291 and 354 to be more accurate.
Needle in a haystack would be the annaogy.
I had to use every clue I could find on the cache logs to find this one.
Thanks for a hot walk in the bush.

This took me a good 15 minutes to find and certainly not without some help from the photo hint and some companionship from my dog. Its amazing how much the scene can change through the seasons. Apologies for the late log. TFTC Grammie & Grumpy

Cravo10 and myself had organised a nice quiet day for caching, staying relatively close to home, and not venturing too much further than that!
We started the day after our gym session in Armadale and headed down to complete the new The Roe Ones series of caches along...you guessed it...roe highway!! Enjoyed this series of caches, with a good variety of containers and camouflage which made it a nice and fun walk. Managed to meet up with PommieParkin2 team whilst at one of the caches and enjoyed a nice chat with them whilst they enjoyed their cycle back from the final container. Have added some favourites for caches in that series.
We then ventured around and picked up a few nemesis caches including wanaus mightier which has been a DNF on at least three occasions and the grammar grumpy cache not quite the real thing which we finally managed to find after about our third attempt.
We completed a couple of nice multis around the area which made for a nice change from the bog standard traditional caches we normally pickup.
Finished the day with the new champion lakes cache which really completes the trilogy of caches along the islands in the middle of the lake quite nicely.
Took a bit of nutting out to grab the information for the cache but it was nice to finally get the smiley with many a pen marking on hands arms and even legs!!
Had a great day out, thanks to the local COs for their caches.

I am very happy here to avenge a previous DNF and it didn't take long to find this time around
I am on a bit of a caching mission this month and am hoping to rack up some large numbers . A trip to power trail heaven, Adelaide, later this month should help with my plans . I decided to head to this area today and grab the smileys on offer, a big thanks to Grammie & Grumpy for placing this container out here for us to find [^].

Have looked for this before. This time ignored the coords (resisted the spoiler photo) and followed the directions from the hint and on this attempt made an easy find. Posted coords still seem to be out - try 091/354. TFTC Grammie & Grumpy.
Don't you believe the hint, it's been my tipple for years....and just look at me. TFTC
A very hot 42 degrees on Australia Day and I headed off to Leeming/Willeton with pommieparkin2 for what we hoped would be a few quick park and grabs given the heat.
After our last find this one was a bit quicker. Getting the hang of these now. For the record I prefer the real thing I don't think it makes that much of a difference having said that I am having some of the Not quite the real thing atm.

Well I can finally add my name to the logbook here. I have spent a fair amount of time searching for this one in the past, but this time I was armed with some very helpful hints and spoiler photos. Definitely not in my original search area, so glad to make it a quick park and grab today.
Many thanks for following up with some assistance for those like me who couldn't spot what was right in front of us!

Finally after numerous attempts we can at last gain a smiley here. After identifying the tree from the photo young TTW had the cache located in no time. Found the coordinates to be more like 32 05.091, 115 51.354. Cache certainly blends in very well. I don't think we would have ever found it without the added hints. Thanks for the adventure Grammie & Grumpy!
On my way into work, I had time to stop for a cache.
After a previous DNF on this case and inspired by Granett log I decided to have another go.
I must admit that it took the use of hintvphotos and spoiler photo to finally make my find after I was just about to give up
I can't wait to catch up with everyone again at
[WA GOES BIG 2017](https://coord.info/GC6TD11) in Rockingham, WA.
Perths big event is on again.
**See you there**.
Grammie & Grumpy - Kyzabra found your cache Not Quite the "Real Thing" . The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Looked for ages and felt we knew what we were after as we have gotten the "Real Thing". Far and wide we went but no luck. Look forward to having another dash at it in the future. Don't want to trample too much vegetation though, that's the dilemma.
A Nemesis Falls
After eight logged DNF's and probably half as many 'unofficial' visits I am absolutely stoked to finally have this one crossed off the list today.
Was cruising past this arvo with a spare 10 minutes and thought to myself 'Why not?'. I had perused the recent spoiler photos (am not ashamed to admit as much) and with Devar's success from yesterday I figured surely 9th time lucky.
Arrived at GZ with the phone at eye level trying to get the right angle of the spoiler pic and realised it was an area that I had searched more than once previously. Started rummaging around again and with time running out it was with a sense of dread that I thought I would be leaving empty handed... again!!!
Then with one innocuous sweep of my geostick the cache presented itself. I couldn't believe it, finally... finally... I could claim a smiley on this nemesis. Signed the log with gusto, took a couple of selfies for prosperity's sake and nearly skipped back to the car.
Thanks to the CO for their patience and timely hints, I reckon I'm partly responsible for some of the added hints and spoiler pics. It's much appreciated. Tempted to drop a favourite here but that would be a lie. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely stocked at crossing this one off the list.
Grammie & Grumpy I found your cache at 5:05pm, this was the 3rd of 3 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3549. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Okay, I'm going to give this one another go WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE SPOILER photo! Wish me luck!
Looking at the specific photo and hints... nothing. Maybe someone in this area doesn't like geocaches? I have also found "The Real Thing" so, hmmmm.
Thought I would come back and have my umpteenth go at this one seeing that some new hints where available. Unfortunately spent another fruitless 30 minutes in a very specific area, I was sure I could hear the cache laughing at me.
Decided to move and claim todays find on a recently solved mystery cache.
Grammie & Grumpy I couldn't find your cache, this was my 1st DNF for the day. I did have 1 finds today so all is not lost.

This trip out had been a long time in the planning.
Jinta29, Krabiboy and I headed out today to finally knock of the codes and cipher series.
The rain made for a change of plans so we headed out to grab some others
A thorough hunt here revealed nothing. Even with a pretty major tip.

Even with a hint from the CO, still had no luck here.

DNF number I don't know what!!! After grabbing the find on a new listing nearby I decided to come and have another crack at this one. I was encouraged to find a spoiler pic in the hint and approached GZ with a sense of expectation.
Not to be however, rummaged around for about twenty minutes for no joy. Ended up leaving after getting stabbed by a rather prickly plant. I may or may not be back, [xx(]

Last time I will be visiting this spot - will now place this one my ignore list as the only way people seem to be able to find it is with big hints from the CO.
Arrived at GZ and started searching. A few minutes later a kid and dad arrived to play basketball and my time is over. Out of 3 caches i looked for this arvo, 1 i found and 2 were your caches with 2 DNFs. Argh. Maybe another day. Thanks anyway
Halleluijah!!! At last and with considerable "hints" from the CO. This really was a difficult find for me....so well hidden and also was looking for something entirely different. Got up at 5.30am to hunt this one. So glad to have a smiley in this corner of the map. Thanks G&G for the hide, your help and for being so sneaky. Is going to get my last favourite just for the ordeal!
PS: Don't recall seeing any other names on the new log.... castes a little bit of doubt on the fairly recent "found".

Desperation had me begging the CO for a little bit of guidance. Came over before work for one final look. Tried to follow the hint but specified landmarks no longer appear to be there. Not sure now of the sort of container cache is in...thought i knew but nothing appropriate in the vacinity of coords. Oh well..... Tftc!
Came back here and spent another twenty minutes searching to no avail. I'll get there one day.

It was definitely there when I did my maintenance run. It is not far from the base of a small tree. I navigated to it using my phone and it was spot on.
Nope - very frustrating. Either the coordinates are way off, the container is buried or the cache deserves a much higher difficulty rating. In any case, it was fun wandering around the woodland.
Encouraged by the recent maintenance log decided to have another look for this one. We had left our GPSr at home and were only going by where we recall we had searched before but could not find a thing. The 3 of us looked for about 20 minutes but still no good. Will have to return with the GPSr to see if that helps out at all. TFTC.
Cache not missing! Log replaced as the other one a bit tatty.

Last found in May 2014, a long string of DNFs and an unanswered "Needs Maintenance" log back in November 2014. Is it time to say goodbye?
I was unable to find any container here. I had found The Real Thing, but was unlucky here. I did stumble upon a couple of Shingleback lizards here, and watched them for a few minutes until they slinkered back into the bush. I will be back.
Stopped in here again after a nearby meeting. Searched around for ten minutes but came up empty handed.
