Headed over to Motueka this morning to do a spot of Christmas shopping. I left home early hoping to get there and back before the forecasted rain arrived.
With the shopping done I thought I would spend a bit of time trying to find an archived cache. Our interest in finding archived caches has been sparked after talking to another geocacher in Blenheim.
This was not the first cache I looked for this morning but it was the first that I was successful in finding.
What a cute little post that is, can't say I have seen any like that before.
Thanks for placing the cache and of course thank you for the smiley

Great for caching Smile

09-Jul-13
I quite enjoyed hunting for this one in light drizzle then walking back to my car (@ rec center) in the dark last night ..

As others have said the log was wet & rotting, so I put a temp one in and brought original home to dry out & can either return it next week or mail to CO if they'd like (?) .. Sorry if that is not the correct thing to do but I figured it best to keep inside cache as dry as possible ..

Thanks for the fun Smile

Very wet, replaced bag but log needs replacing too

06-Jul-13
A quick find but the logbook was seriously wet, probably needs hanging out on your rather cool clothe's line as pictured.

TFTC

I am sorry We did not have anything with us to help.... BUT this is very very wet and needs a new log.

02-Jul-13
Easy find BUT very Very wet.

11-May-13
This was a DNA rather than a DNF as we could work out how to get to the itty bitty pole. We tried via the park, past the pond and over the bridge and found the private driveway and a fence so didn't go. Came out and only found the driveway clearly marked private and a dual driveway to houses... so after about 40mins we gave it up without getting anywhere near it!

04-May-13
Found it nice day for a stroll

15-Apr-13

28-Mar-13
Lovely day for a spot of caching. Thanks.

22-Mar-13
Make sure you enter via the park as an official looking person got upset when I tried the other entrance.
We are very impressed by the parks and walkway/cycleway network in this area. We've had a great time getting to know the various towns and their hidden treasures. A great hide.

A quick find on a morning's caching foray around Motueka. Signed log, TFTC!

Soooooo devious. Got the name when we saw the object in the photo. Enjoyed visiting the park. Thanks for sharing local treasures and for keeping us on our toes... well mentally alert!

#61 Found on a nice and sunny walk after a hang gliding adventure in Motueka. I also found another cache close to this but when I was going to log it it had been removed from the map. Thanks and greetings from Sweden!

Had a couple of hours free while Mrs N did some serious cafe study. Managed to nab a few. Really nice place to cache around on a hot hot (well at least to a bloke from Dunedin) day. Thanks.

Nice easy find away from the duck-watching muggles Smile

I have no idea what this is all about. Didn't take long to find. Got told off for being on private land as I was walking back to the car. should have returned the way I came perhaps. TFTC

Not sure what the cache name refers to but a nice night time walk through the park to GZ, luckily the hint led me straight to it. TFTC

Walked around in quite a large circle with the GPS not settling before finally giving in and reading the clue, cache in hands within seconds and then what do you know it then settled on 0 meters afterwards

I desperately wanted to go down the private drive. I resisted the temptation - just. This park is always wet. The ducks love it. Crossed the bridge and followed the trail. Now off to find da pole. Took TB.

When approaching the cache we stood several minutes on the bridge in the park watching the birds and ducks living there. We finally saw the bird making all these strange sounds sitting in a nearby tree. Thanks for showing.

I'm sure it will be explained to me one day. Gosh that is a big one isn't it? No trouble with reception there. Just Dad and youngest KE here while the other two wandered about the park. TFTC

A trip to Motueka today to find the newly published caches turned out to be much busier than expected when we checked our email while sitting down near the Janie Seddon having lunch and discovered 14 new caches published this morning. Our plans changed somewhat, dropping the older caches also included, and focusing on this and the other newer caches. A nice park to wander in. TFTC.

10-Nov-12
The plan was to have a relaxed day around Mot and do some caches on the way. It turned out to be a busy and rewarding day after the notifications piled in Smile After a pleasant walk through the park and a bit of a scan of GZ the cache was soon in hand. TFTC

09-Nov-12
Enjoyed the stroll to this one and the bird life along the way. I was a bit worried that the black swans would think Sidewaze was a bit too interested in their family and we would have to make a speedy retreat but having a moat between us and them, i guess we weren't seen as a threat so, no worries. Private driveway very quiet this evening and the cache a quick find. TFTC.

L O L O there it is. Serendipity again with another of those 'oh there it is' moments just before we really got into some searching. Great bird watching down here. Lots of ducks and pukeko and even some rather young cygnets with Mum and Dad keeping a very close eye on them. TFTC Big Grin

08-Nov-12
This is definitely not an ideal cache at 10pm with no torch, seemed to be rush hour over the fence as well. I guess the 1 bonus of not having a torch is it's easy to hide! Managed to get there in the end. All good fun!

07-Nov-12
I happened to be in the area this morning so decided to collect a few of the newer caches around the place. General area of GZ was familiar from a previous cache. No problems here. TFTC, Biggles.

04-Nov-12
After completing last cache in tthe area I decide to try out the smartphone for caching! Was busy setting everything up and looked up to find Niteowlnz taking off to find the new cache. caught up but having no joy with phone due to it not connecting properly with the GPS inside it so back to more research. Found cache after a bit of look around Smile TFTC

Headed off to this one thinking I had Stretch0 right behind me - but no he was way back tinkering with his gadget phone - so I kept going with the gps - he soon caught up !!! lol had to wait a couple of times as the private driveway was busy tonight !!!! Uneven surface was interesting by headlamp but managed to stay upright !!! else I may have need more hugs from the CO to recover !!!!! Smile had a short hunt then came up with cache - signed log and headed off to the next cache in the park before more cars zoomed past to spoil our peaceful night stroll Smile Thanks for the cache Smile

Nice One!!!!!!!!!! Second of the Belt's triangle. Very pleasant walk around the area. By all means, go to GZ via the park. Well worth it. Much fun in the sun. Thanks

04-Nov-12
Really didn't expect to be in Motueka today, as we had planned a long walk. Cricket consequences made that look challenging - Plan B worked just fine.
Parked close to where Mrs had parked with Sidewaze yesterday and wandered slowly to GZ. Absolutely no idea what the name means, but no problems finding the cache.
Thanks.

04-Nov-12
enjoyed the walk in the park.
there are some beautiful parks in Motueka and this is one of them.
good one
thank you for the cache.
