nice an easy one! Even made a little friend who happened to be in the cache (pic attached)
On road trip and family holiday with heymissjo, The Welder and Ge0_Ninja. Collecting some caches as we go. Thanks for the cache.
#1897Second day of driving for our family holiday. Up from Melbourne and heading to Port Macquarie. Not long to go now: we could have done the last leg, but this is as high as The Welder and I have driven or should I say its a brand new LGA for us to cache in. We needed a quick stop as camper was still in tow and we want to set up before the sun goes down. This mumma decided to let the kids go in hunt of the cache but after both Ge0Bug missed it and Ge0-Ninja was more interested in the puffer fish nearby I circled and waited to see what The Welder would do.. he too was walking in circles with his internal gps bouncing as it tried to remember what this caching game is about lol! Oh well, time to hone in on the treasure! Was interested to read of the history of this town and reflect of what was and what was left. The cycles of life and all the changes that follow. Thanks for the cache.
An overnight at the pub, a stroll along the river bank, some interesting history, and a well secured cache! Thanks Liz and Bruce (maintenance by DiMorgan)
Thanks. Needs a new plastic bag and a lid but still okay. Looking forward to a nice pub meal tonight
TftcHeaded back down the highway to get a few more smilies from this series.A great day out with hints spot on. Cache #20/20A nice little bit of history.
Nice easy wander this morning as we took advantage of the Coopernook Hotels generous offer to park and be patrons of their parking lot and pub in our caravan. Kiwisteve2 especially enjoyed being able to watch the State of Origin in the pub but wasn't happy with the results of the match.Great history. Thanks for sharing. As others have noted very strong magnets and the lid is missing but all is dry.Tftc

Hey just realised that this is the 13th anniversary. since this thing was put here. (Or maintained?)
Day 11. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip. After managing to catch up with posums in Taree yesterday, it was off further north towards Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour.A nice quick find here as I head further north. Thanks Liz and Bruce for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------The 12 Days of Cachemas series is now live. Found 11:58 am with fiancée. Easy find. Obvious kind of place to check. We are on a track north for a stay at Flynn’s Beach Port Macquarie lovely spot. As usual I wanted to do a cache or two on our trip and this one was in a great spot because we also wanted to stop for a drink and food at the Coopernook Hotel.
Interesting read about the wharf.
I also recall the bridge at Coopernook in the past before the Highway bypass. The truckers having to warn each other if one was about to go across. Now it’s kind of boring but the bypass does save time.
Thanks for the cache.

While traveling from Geelong to Brisbane via the Hume I stopped and grabbed caches where I could.
A nice little spot and some interesting history to read about.
I also notice there's camping behind the nearby pub. We'll definitely be returning here with the caravan.

Been on my DNF list for quite awhile. Had an opportunity to stop today. I come away thinking if I had just completely miss it last time or if it was even there. TFTC
On the way back from Port Macquarie we opted for a brief break at Coopernook. I saw that there was a cache loaded in my phone down here near the wharf so I headed over this way. We took a short stroll in the direction the compass was pointing and soon we were in a likely area with some options for a cache to be hidden.
I think I must have loaded this cache quite a while ago when it wasn't a Premium Member only cache. When I tried to update the listing to see whether there had been any recent finds my phone told me that it was a Premium cache and it wouldn't update. Nevertheless, I made quick work of the search and soon had the container in hand. New log signed (there had been two others before me) and then things went back as found.
A nice little break from the driving, but a bit of a challenge to get back on the motorway when heading south. Anyway, a bit of patience did the trick and soon there was a gap in the traffic to accommodate us.

After finding a nearby cache we discovered this one was owned by dear friends, so a quick backtrack was made only to discover the container had gone astray. After a phone call to the maintenance crew, and confirmation of the lost container, a replacement magnetic eclipse container and new log was placed as directed by Bill & Di. I guess that also means the CO knows we’re heading there way now. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Liz and Bruce

Really enjoyed our wander around Coopernook although there was a proliferation of ants around the cache.
TFTC. Camped overnight at the back of the Coopernook Hotel and went for a wander to look at the river. Found there was cache nearby. Quickly found and enjoyed the history. Then later had a very nice pizza from the pub.
Our first cache find after a few attempts. Kids were so excited and we can’t wait to find more. Good hiding spot, will stay dry and safe for years to come! Thanks!!
