After many years I am archiving this series. I will collect the caches when I am able to.
It is time for a refresh and time to have some new Caches placed around Onerahi that will cause some fun chaos.
Thank you for those who have found this series.

It's been a while since I have been out so I took the opportunity for a quick road trip. It has been years since I solved these puzzles and I had an offer of help from a friend who is a previous finder to finally knock these btds off my list of no finds. A bit of rooting around for this one and we managed to disturb an ants nest. TFTC.
Todays mission was to get a few of my solved puzzles at Onerahi. After waiting for the app to come back online we headed off. Started at Onerahi Onerahi yatch club and walked around to locate the puzzles that I have solved.
Got to GZ and thought this is going to be tricky to find. But as it was no longer attached to stick if was quite easy.

At GZ it felt a bit like trespassing, but we found an obvious large host. From a previous log we knew that the container had become detached from its host stick, and luckily the recent leaf fall hasn’t buried the container which I saw peeping through. Always fun to solve these puzzles in advance of a long caching tour - this was another good one.
Puzzle solved, then it was hop on a plane and fly halfway round the world! Cache found minus its camouflage but the glue still on the top. TFTC
Over a glass wine of wine geocaching was mentioned and our host was intrigued, so we headed out to show them about geocaching. This one was less than 30 metres away. Got to GZ and there were a plenty of places the cache could be. Under a bit of pressure we were pleased to soon have this one in hand - even though the camo is missing.
Spending the long weekend in the area with Jag50. We were staying 23m from this cache so after dinner and a wine or 2 we decided to introduce our Airbnb hostess to geocaching so off we went. We were under pressure to find the cache and after a few minutes figuring out which side we needed to be on we found the cache. Whew!
Remembering fun times long ago spent many years living around here and my younger days and good to relive some cool memories. hitting this series and caches well as much as I can any way.
Used to live on the corner of this access way. Moved here from Christchurch in '79. Then we shifted a four doors down towards onerahi I can remember some blokes came and helped move mum's piano down on skate boards. We used this track to take our boats down to the beach and go sailing after school as well as to the scout den.
Thank you for bringing me to this area Riser5 and for placing and maintaining OC: Cryogenically Groening (Onerahi) geocache from Mr Cuddly Brick

Solved this one ages ago and can't remember having too many problems. In Whangarei today with some time to look for caches and this one was on the list. Got to GZ and went from the top. These zigzaggy GZs can be very tricky and we circled about a bit before we decided the right place to look thanks to other folks' logs. Once we determined that, we searched the right spot we found the cache - all good here and thanks for the cache.Thanks.
I had solved half this series ages ago and being in Whangarei for a few days decided to collect them to up my puzzle stats. Parked at the bottom and did the slow walk up to the GZ. After a wee while of searching, read some logs then attacked it from a different direction and then quickly had the cache in hand. TFTC
Well this had been a journey in the making for some time as for the past few weeks a group of us were working on puzzles in the area for a 24 hour mission (travel time included) to see what we could reasonably grab.
All caches were signed "HOAC" so as to save space in the logbook. So together with HKCB, 11HPG, kiwis69 & Alpenmilch83 we left Hamilton at 6.pm with the aim to do as many as possible before sleeping in the car, grabbing breakfast and continuing on. Plenty of laughs were had and stories told. Thanks to all the CO's for their efforts in keeping these going and taking the time and effort to place and maintain these caches.
This had been solved for quite some time so the start of the trip was all about cleaning up the debis of Onerahi and in each case it was great to finally good to grab the last of the OC series after a two year absense.
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

On another HOAC mission, this time with Cats&Dragons, Kiwis69, 11HPG11, and Alpenmilch80. The mission a 24 hour blitz on Whangarei puzzles, plus a certain multi to complete C&D's 5th loop around the D/T grid. Leaving Hamilton at 6pm, with a quick stop in Auckland to pick up A80, we were in Whangarei caching just after 10pm.
During the moonlight hours the plan was to focus on the puzzles around Onerahi, and the Pokemon series, while during thhe daylight the plan was to focus on thegreatauk puzzles plus a few others we had solved. The mission turned out to be fairly successful considering the level on difficultly of most of the hides we were targeting. The logs were signed as HOAC to save room on the logs, a big thanks must go out to all the CO's for their hides.
First find of the trip and great to finally get back up this way and find a few caches which we have previously DNF'd. I still remember going through this series solving them even though it was a few years ago. With a few more eyes searching this one was soon found this time around.

A Friday night a bit different. I got picked up in AKL by a car loaded with Cats&Dragons, 11hpg11, kiwis69, HKCB & a trunk full of food, which could have lasted us for a week surviving in Whangarei. Started into the night with telling a lot of funny stories, enjoying laughter’s and geocaching, geocaching, geocaching.... This was our first find of the night and started with a direct find.
I enjoyed the time out with the HOAC crew and must say when I arrived back home I felt broken, but very happy and accomplished. TFTC and TFTTrip

A trip to Whangarei for the night to collect a few caches is totally normal right? 2 hours sleep is also normal? Our group tonight consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB, Kiwis69, Alpenmilch80 and myself. We left Hamilton at 6pm on Friday and we were home by 6.30pm on Saturday. Some great caches were found and some laughs were had and a lot of sugar and caffeine consumed. A lot of planning and puzzle solving had gone into the prep work so we had a good plan of what caches to attack.
Another one solved and found using a lot of teamwork. Thanks for the puzzles!

HotRodPete & Liz decided to head out to do a bit of cache hunting after work with 0B80B8 as there were a few local caches that neither of us had signed off yet.
We had solved this puzzle quite some time ago and searched for the cache without success two or three times, usually just before the CO does some maintenance on the cache. This time we were determined to locate the cache and turn the unhappy face into a smiley.
With the help of 0B80B8 we managed to locate the cache. Although the container and log are safe and dry we can confirm that the camo item is no longer attached to the cache container however the cache is still well hidden. At last we can tick this one off our list and remove it from the watch list.

Mrs B and Tinytree decided sometime ago to do an event in Whangarei; which was great as we could spend a bit of the long weekend picking up this great series that we had previously solved as well as a few others in the area; with bikes in tow we headed off for a great adventure which the weekend proved to be!
Solved quite a while ago and enjoyed the awesome variety of puzzles - found the right code to solve this one and really got lucky with the find which is not as it was original published. Initially looked elsewhere but thought I would check previous logs which made me wonder...and yes that is where it is; minus an item that was previously stuck to the top. TFTC

Had solved this puzzle ages ago during winter, but had not actually ventured forth to look for it until now. I needed a handy one before the weather closed in and this was a suitable candidate. Like others before me, once I had sorted out which tree and which side of that tree, the sneaky hide was soon located. Glad to convert another OC cache into a yellow smilie. TFTC
A slow but easy solve here and on viewing gz, the find was easier than it first looked....or maybe we were just lucky. Thanks Riser5.

Drove over from Tutukaka to cache around Onerahi while my muggle mates are on their dive trip. I spent hours solving the entire OC series on publication but then real life got in the way & I didn’t get to look for the caches that summer, as planned. Five years later, finally here & pleasantly surprised that the series is still active - thanks for keeping it going! A lovely day so have abandoned my car & caching by foot. Nice quick find here, once I worked out which side of GZ to search, Tftc
Easy but long puzzle got me groaning a bit fortunately hide didn't quick find at GZ.TFTC
Third attempt at this one spread over a couple of years first with the old cache and now with the new one. Still no luck so I think we will forget about this one and place it on our watchlist until someone finds it to confirm it is still in play.
5.45pm - DAY 3 of 3. Final day caching up North today and this was a massive driving day for me today. Kaitaia to Rotorua then home to Papamoa, along with a huge list of caches to collect.
We ended up wasting far too much time on a Wherigo in Whangarei which we had to DNF.
Thankfully mother finds came a lot quicker so made up up for a bit of lost time.
We will have to return one day to collect the ones we missed on this trip.
Enjoyed the weekend with a 100+ caches found. SLTFTC

Up in Northland for the weekend with Gap and Squirrel nutcase between us we managed to get this series solved however the others have already found quite a few of the series and as we took a little longer to get to Whangarei than we thought it would we only had time to.get the ones they haven't found so I'll have to come back another time for the rest of the series . Great puzzles and we managed to find most of the hides although a I think we had a couple of DNF.
Thanks for the series.

Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to cache our way back to Whangarei (and home), while picking up as many caches that fill spaces in challenges we are working on. We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges this weekend...
The OC series has plagued our subconscious minds for many months. We've slowly chipped away at those seemingly unsolvable conundrums, and taken delight when we've managed to crack one... After sharing some of the workload with DC, we managed to solve every one... We missed this one on our last sweep through the area. No problems this evening. TFTP and TFTC.

Solve was ok but finding cache was a challenge. We looked for rocks and anything else at gz. When that didn't work I expanded search and found a small rock all by itself hiding cache container. Phew. Thanks for the puzzle and placement Riser5.
For some unknown reason the co ords were quite away out(8) .....spent some time searching widened the search and found ....the stone has come away from the lid ...but the rest ok ....thanks for the cache and puzzle
I'm so pleased to get this one. I solved the puzzle way back in Aug 2014, and I've hunted for it several times since. The glue has not held and the rock has come off the top already. We left the rock sitting on top but it'll get separated with time so will need a rethink. Thanks for replacing this one
I tried again toda. Had a good hunt around but couldn't see it. I'd love to know if it's still here or not. Thanks anyway.
I think it may have been swallowed by the tree. I have replaced with a larger container. Rock glued to top.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Day 2 of our flying visit to Northland. Today, we are hunting for two old caches; one each in Russell and Whangarei. We are also looking at anything else between these points, within short walking distance of the vehicle. it seems a lot brighter today, but rain is on the forecast, and the ground is waterlogged...
We had a lot of fun solving some of this series of puzzles. They had the right combination of challenge and skill... Finding some of the hides proved to be incredibly frustrating... Some could do with a visit and a note from the CO, just to confirm that they are still in play...
This was our first solve in the series... We followed our gps downhill, but we couldn't get a reliable lock on ground zone. We were all over the place initially. Eventually, an object looked most promising. After digging among leaf litter and neighbourhood gardening dumps, we were forced to call time on this search. It hasn't been found in over a year, with no word from the CO to confirm that it's still in play. This one deserves a check up please...

Had to abandon the search as a tropical downpour sent us scurrying back to the car for shelter. The road and paths were awash within minutes.
A steep walk up the hill. I needed some exercise after all that driving. Hunted all around but the cache was too tricky for me. Thanks anyway
Have to log yet another DNF in the series. Cracked the code and had a green tick but at GZ, after I spent a few minutes looking around, I discovered over 10 big mozzies feeding on my hands and loads more all over me. After killing a hand full and seeing my fresh blood I made a hasty retreat. Mozzies love me and there was such a swarm here today I just couldn't stay. Had extremely itchy hands for the rest of the day. Will have to being GAR and some mozzie protection with me for my next attempt sometime later in the year! The things we do for this 'sport' .
Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 26: [green]Whangarei[/green] to [red]Taipa[/red] to
Today we were looking for the next geocaching art: [blue]OC[/blue]
Solving all these riddles was not so easy
Some of the puzzles were really hard to solve [8)]
Therefore I thought the hiding places were not so difficult...far wrong
Something I was thinking we were searching the needle in the haystack [B)]
At the end we had four DNF's and we needed almost 5 hours for the complete series
I would like to thank 'Riser5' for showing us all this places, the riddles and for maintaining all these caches,

This would be one of the trickier hides, I shall up the difficulty a little. Still there
Day 2 of our Waitangi weekend road trip to collect a few puzzle series of caches that we have solved over the last month or so - plus any other caches that we can find on the way.
Searched for ages for this one but it beat us. Our second DNF of the day and on the OC series!!

After solving the puzzle I thought this would be a quick find while taking my son for a driving lesson. However it was not to be and a look at other logs show that this one may take a couple of visits to finally locate.
#458 Another avenged DNF. Needed to approach GZ from a different angle. TFT(yellow skinned)C.
Got encouraged by my last OC solve. Got this one too, 45th person to solve. Soon got the hang of the code and found it easy to solve. Lots of fun. Will collect cache sometime. Meanwhile back to the computer to solve some more. Great fun thanks.
Nope no luck here after spending a fair amount of time at GZ. This one was just too good for me unfortunately.
The OC chaos series. Definitely on the radar for my trip north. Took a few weeks of lunchtimes to get all the puzzles sorted. Took the best part of the day scrambling around to find the caches. Got them all in the end though. Excellent series. Thanks.
#6289. Lucky last of the OC series. We didn't want to leave town with one OC left unfound. There were lots of cachers searching (too many searchers spoil the hunt?). Thankfully the CO took pity on us and put in a personal appearance. A favourite point for the OC series. TFTC.
[green] Day 3 of the three day GeoTour North with ToursDirect, the prelude to the MEGA in Auckland. Fantastic tour, recommend it to anyone (too late!). I surprised only 4 people chose to come along. Log signed as GeoTour North, which includes me, Edvern, PageNZ, KittyKatch and GrimRaider.
I managed to solve some of these puzzles, Edvern solved some, PageNZ ... between us we had them all, so let's go!!
Spent ages at this site. Then left it, did some more and came back. Three others turned up, then two more, then another. That's 10 people, and we all got nowhere. But there is a solution! call up one more person! Yes, my son, for 12 is the magic number. Especially when the 12th is the CO. Thanks Riser5 for jumping out of work so promptly to help us. It was nasty and devious, but yet we had seen exactly that hide on earlier caches of yours...

StreetWalker and I took part in the impromptu event that had about 10 pairs of eyes and even more fingers searching for this elusive cache. A big thank you to the CO for taking time out from his meal break to come and put us out of our misery. Good hide!
And thanks as well for finding my tweezers that I had dropped at another cache site.

10-12 pair of eyes and hands and eyes couldn't locate this one. In the end, it was an 'easy find' at the end of CO's left hand.. doh!
The puzzle was solved from home, so we just had to find this one.. but I'm not sure we'd ever found it ourselves, even with all the time in the world..
See you at the MEGA (and here's an FP)

This was a challenge to find. We visited the site 3 times, the first time we were alone, the second time two other geocachers were there and then three more geocachers from Denmark appeared so it was rather a mini-event. None of the 10 of us could find the cache so we were all rather disappointed. As we moved onto the next find the CO rang me, the best sort of cache owner, he was on his way to help us. Returning for the third time we all waited and cheered Nick as he came running down the path. It took him all of 5 seconds to find the cache. Favourite point for the CO.
We spent a while here, but no luck. And not even the season for the peaches that ADV scoffed.
Solved some time ago - found this morning. Hard to find the cache with so many options to choose from - TFTC !
After a month of slowly puzzling over this OC series, I thought it was time to get some smilie faces on my map. I have a few more to solve over the coming weeks. Thanks for the series.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We are in my old home town of Whangarei visiting family for Easter and returned to Onerahi this Easter Monday to continue with the OC Caches.
A little bit of research required for the puzzle, which was an easy solve once the right information was found. Took a bit of searching to find the cache at GZ, but we eventually had it in hand. Thanks for the cache!

11226... Groening great along the OC trail... a nice cryogenical puzzle and more evil camo, TFTC.
Interesting puzzle solved a while back... We started from the bottom and went up - even though tikitour had previously found it we still had quite a search - great camo Thanks Nick
We enjoy this sort of puzzle, so no problems with the solve.
A bit of Groening on the way to GZ though, but a fairly quick find once there. Thanks - OC #19.

I was groaning all right... Could not find the little sucka so we had to ask for help. Oh there it is, I thought we looked there.... not well enough. Thanks for the help, and the cache.
Looked and looked here as had trouble with GPS to settle. Then a re check and bingo another smilie here thanks. Have solved a puzzle similar so made for a good start.
Evil, evil and evil. Had real trouble getting the GPS to settle and couldn't decide what level we should be on. So many option for a micro and missed on the first attempt. Called into see the cache owner about another cache and after confirmation of the right level and approach the cache was soon located. Thanks for the smiley at the end of the day.

Fun puzzle, took a while to find but located quickly once on the right side.TFTC.
There was no groaning over this fun puzzle, solved quickly- no cryogenics needed.
The groaning started at GZ while staring apathetically at the myriad of options- from the Wrong side!- then moved to the other side & made a quick easy find. Thanks for the fun

Got a first to solve with this one on Friday but with a trip in the opposite direction planned for Saturday, today was the first day to go collect it. Took pink red junior with me for a change while the driver sat in the car below. Got to GZ and thought OMG! But it didn't take more than a minute to get our hands on it! Cool track for a cache to hide out on. TFTP and cache!!!!
Darn, should have got up earlier Thought the tree cover might be a problem but GPS was spot on. TFTC.
Got hooked on this puzzle this morning over breakfast coffee....couldn't get it at first then something clicked and yes I was on the right track. Enjoyed the puzzling to get there. Geochecker gave me a green tick so couldn't resist a quick trip and was rewarded with a blank log.
FTF .....thanks Riser for the sneaky cache, good camo and a great spot to hide a cache.
