Logs
Checked the base of every tree in the rest stop, but couldnt find anything. Also read through the comments about returning the rock over the cache, but there is no rocks around. Area has recently been thrashed by 4wd activity and a lot of rubbish
Out and about in the area caching today with a number of cachers from Team SEAC (a group of cachers from South and East Auckland that often cache together). Today there was Keylev, Laval., NurseDr, FleurScott, and Mrs NZT. Logs signed as SEAC to save space.I am sure we have searched here before with no luck, but today it was a quick find.
Quick find with Blue Jay after picking up our 'hire' car from airport and before heading off on a few day tour of the North island. All good at gz.TFTC. Toffee Man.
Found after a little root around. We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
On our journey through New Zealand today a trip from Whitianga to Orewa. Of course we seek some peace and quiet at a few geocaches. Fortunately, they are also here. Thank you very much to CO for laying this cache. With warm geocache greetings from the Netherlands
Stopped by here for a short break on my way south, and almost gave up on this one, but managed to find it in the end after turning over a couple of likely looking logs.
Lots of gardening done around the base of trees and close inspection of every split tree I thought I could find. Not prepared to climb so I’ll settle for a DNF reluctantly
Unable to find and then a cop pulled over and questioned me why I was wandering around
Looked for a camo eclipse tin as per an earlier picture but it's now this, lucky it was nice and quick to spot
Managed to sign the log but it is getting wet in there, looked through the glove box but nothing to help fix today, sorry! Tftc

On our way with B4Dawn, cragger and laval to hike to the Waitewheta Hut for an overnighter and B4Dawn pulled over here…aha a cache…sure!
Didn’t take long to spot the hint item and then there it was.
Thanks for the cache.

I've been waiting to pull over in this rest stop as I always seem to bypass it. Today was the day and we did a quick find here. Tftc
Nice quick find. I’ve often thought about grabbing this one but the road is usually too busy.
North Island Campervan trip Day 4
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
I had just picked up the campervan and my intention was to make my way over to the Coromandel and end up in Whitianga for the night. I was looking forward to the journey as this is not a route I have traveled often, and never since discovering Geocaching! For this part of my journey, I was just looking for simple park 'n' grabs, not too far off my route, and this one seemed to fit the bill.
I was able to park close to this one, and the excellent Hint made it a quick find. There were no issues at all with this cache or the log, which was signed and replaced before I was back on my way again.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

Quick find! Nice to have space to pull off, although we certainly did not need a rest just yet! TFTC!!
Out for breakfast at nearby woodturners cafe and had to stop and find this one. Very busy today because of Waitangi Day but cache found quickly. Didn’t have a pen with us. TFTC
Took a drive down to pick a few KG of Blueberries. We normally head to Ohaupo, but this year decided to try Ngatea. Noticed a few local finds along the road. Saw this on the map on the way in, so grabbed it on the way out before heading back to the Big Smoke. Thanks for hosting us Ngatea. TFTC
On the way to Tauranga stopping for some caches along the way. Had to wait for a motorhome to move on as it was parked at GZ. TFTC.
Heading back home to Auckland after a nice weekend away enjoying the lovely weather.A nice quick find here.
On the way a small picnic break and a geocache

Yes was nice to have a walk around to stretch legs after coming over from Piha
A nice stop on our way to Hobbiton. It took us some minutes to find it, since it was hidden quite well by the person before. TFTC
You are quite right - Its always nice to stop somewhere safe, break the drive and have a cache to find
So we stopped here - took a break and found a cache.
TFTC & greetings from the north of Germany

We're spending a couple of hours getting out of the house and doing some local caching. Great hiding spot! I've been eyeing this place up as a hiding place myself so I'm glad to see one here TFTC
Heading south for the weekend with Merlot58 we stopped to collect this one. Merlot had already found this one, so knew exactly where to park the car to block us from the campervan in the carpark. Quick park and grab and then we were back on our way.
Found this one on the way from Auckland to Tauranga today. Stopped with family at the nearby cafe. Whilst waiting for lunch to arrive I slipped out to locate this cache. A quick find. On returning to the dinner table they’d figured out where I’d been! #2520. TFTC.
Stopping to let the traffic pass, we pulled into this little rest area, and were delighted to discover that not only did a couple of chickens call this home, but so did a cache! Quickly found due to spot on coords, signed and returned. TFTC Darby&Joan
Easy find after lunch break on way home after lovely East Cape holiday tftc
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
Called by today to check on cache. Have updated the container, with a camo version of a mint tin. Cleared rubbish away from the top of cache. Please replace stone over cache. Thank you.
Decided to grab this as I was passing through the area today. Might be the fastest park and grab I've manged so far. TFTC.
Forgot to report in November that we replaced the log book. Should be all good.
The Central North Island, Day 1: Auckland - Coromandel
Today we headed out for our last great adventure in New Zealand, which was to cover The Central North Island, as far down as Ruapehu. We set off from Auckland on an overcast day, and was met with rain for the better part of the morning and afternoon. That still didn’t stop me from caching, as I had been well-prepared with a raincoat and picked up only the easier ones. As the rain cleared up, there was a nice stiff breeze that accompanied me in my hunts along the Thames Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. A relatively good, if somewhat damp day, overall.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Nice quick place to stop despite the ever present rain, and after searching a few wrong spots in the rain, I got wise and figured out the right place. Of course it is there... TFTC!

TFTC. You might want to update the description of the container though as it is not a sistema container.
Pulled in here from the opposite direction. Still managed a quick find and TFTC.
I'd been down at the Bush Tramway Club helping out with some track work we were extending, and decided to drive back through the rural country roads once we were finished so I could clean up some more of the caches around the region. Theres some girl band concert on at Mt Smart Stadium tonight, and I noticed the traffic was already starting to build down in Huntly on my way through from the train club. I figured the great Auckland Southern Motorway would be at best a slow crawl from the Bombays, so instead I headed inland out towards Orini to finish off the last couple I had remaining from the eyes series, before heading through to Tahuna and north up SH27. Don't know how many times I must have driven past this nice rest stop, but decided to stop by here early evening. Great place to hide, good hint, TFTC
Viv_L and I had organised a WENZ planning catch up over brunch midway between hers and mine this morning. This put us less than 200m from GZ! Having read previous logs before setting off on the roadie down from Auckland, I made sure to have a spare log available... unfortunately not as swish as write in the rain paper, but a new log is in place in a baggy to keep it as dry as poss. Thanks for the placement
Heading back from a day out in Auckland by myself and thought I would see if I could stop and retrieve some caches on the way. I'm sure I was being followed by a fellow cacher as we kept stopping at the same places then waited for one of us to leave, I won . Log was nice and dry but is now full (sorry to my fellow cacher I filled it up) so now needs maintenance and is also in an Eclipse tin not a Systima. TFTC I needed another rest break
On the road with friend's new toy, a brand new RV. Stopped to swap drivers and lo and behold a GC here for the taking. Job done quickly and back on the road. It drives superbly (in case you were wondering!) TFTC
