Heading over to tackle a few days on Eyre Peninsula with Mattycat and Perfect Di, Day 1 had us picking a few up in town, found what we were sorta expecting just a bit shinnier
TFTC akela0
TFTC akela0
Met up with the froghoppin couple and with Purrfect Di and Jack to clean some of the colourful little marks from the geomap. A good chance to find some new ones and redeem a few old dnfs too.
A quick find indeed of a shiny Ted. Akela we'll do our best, was this Baloo
akela0 we thank you for locating and maintaining the cache on our ever growing SA geo-map
---
Driving around - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of the luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Danger! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Much appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Found with richlink today while caching around Whyalla enjoying the improved weather. The was log book was signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache akela0.
Thanks for the cache akela0.
Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 we made our way out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache akela0!
Away for a few days with Featherwaite and Team Astro.
The plan was to get all the whyalla caches as well as the FTF series and the FITG caches.
Nearly got them all, just a few left for next time.
A quick find.

After booking into our accomodation, we still had some time to cruise around and gather a few extra caches this afternoon .
Stopped on the adjacent track and quickly located the cache .
A very bright bear . TNLNSL.
Thanks Akela0.

Spent some time caching today with ilook4geo, in between doing some domestic activities too. All went well and a c0uple of multis were thrown into the mix. It was a good day and some of the caches found really socked it to us. Each log was signed with two more names and we then headed off to continue the hunt. Thank you to akela0 for placing this cache which turned out to be a quite easy find.
Continued picking up some more of the caches available around Whyalla today, together with goingplaces2. Did more on the outskirts rather than in town. Had a good day and added some more smileys to the map. TFTC.
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Heading to Port Pirie but 4 days ahead of schedule so a quick detour to Whyalla was in order. There sure is a lot of puzzles here! Glad we had done the solving before arriving in town. 35 from 37 hunts today.

Away for a week on some R 'n' R from the shop and to recover from an exhausting 10th Birthday celebration for Geostuff. We headed out early to beat the heat today and our targets were high FP caches. We grabbed any others that were on the way to these too! Sadly this one seemed to be missing, We widened our search but still couldn't find. Perhaps CO could check.
This was the first ever geocache we found years ago and it's still here unfortunately someone had replaced the log with roo poo. Not cool. Fixed it
Day 303 (Saturday 27th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Whyalla today. A total of 15 for the day and 5900 for the trip. TFTC
Am I bear food out here???
Thanks akela0. and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Cute cammo with quick find....
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

Found at 1118. Staying in Whyalla for a week to break up my drive to WA and to pick up some smileys while I am here. A quick find. TFTC.
Loved opening this Geocache only to find that I didn't have a pen! Gonna have to pay this one another visit to prove my presence and mark it.
#6596 - 16:00; Day 8 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. Caching in and around Whyalla today and along the roads into and out of town we collected 69 finds and 6 DNFs. We visited many places of interest today in our travels and most of our finds were in good condition. After doing some back road caching to 'fill in the gaps' further south, we were now caching along the back roads to the west of the town and then along the levee. Picked up this cache along the way. Nice container TFTC akela0
Alice trip 2017. Day 6. With Sol de Lune and LuckL10n we spent today caching around Whyalla during a bit of s detour on our drive to Alice Springs. Heaps of caches with lots of DNFs we skipped but me managed a good day of caching. The caches in the scrub West of whyalla were all on very dusty tracks, but we managed most of them.
Thanks.

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

Hi there akela0.
We found your cache **"Hard to BEAR"** at 1:04:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15815).
We cached around the Whyalla area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 20 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. We awarded the cache a favourite point for the novelty container.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

There's a bear in there, but no chair. We had some games and now got a story to tell. Open wide look inside and you'll see TALDFrench inside.
What a surprise!!
There was a bear in there but
No chair as well
So we stood and logged this cute find.
Thanks.

I was holding up well against the 'storm' of Whyalla geocaches
I could bear some more ....
And with the pushbike to hand, I was well equipped for an assault on this cache out in the Boon-Docks of Jenkins
At GZ I was a bit embarrassed at having to make four laps of the area before spotting the cache sitting there, looking back at me
I gave it a hug [:X]
A BEAR HUG of course
TFTC !!

A little walk in the urban fringes of Whyalla as we waited to hear from a cacher who lives nearby. Aussie Mary made the find and was able to bear it fairly well. A favourite for the cute cache hide, good one for young kids. TFTC.
