Most beautiful place is Pemberton. We come here annually. Next year I'm bringing a mountain bike for sure!

During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we drive today from Walpole to the RAC Karri Valley Resort near Pemberton. After we checked in to our accommodation we went to do a cache series nearby. This cache was found during the tour.**jacaro44**, thanks for the cache.

24-Apr-24
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Today we drove from Walpole to Yeagerup. Not a long drive so we have plenty of time and are taking it easy. After checking into our hotel we go out again to Karri Forest. The first cache of this series is done by the whole team after which the team splits up. Half the team drives the heartbreak trail, the other half walks the Warren River Loop Walk. During these exercises, all caches of this series are visited and found in good order. Thank you very much for this series.

Thank you to the older elephant willing to drive the younger curious elephants around the heartbreak circuit. 2 down.

Yippeee Pemberton! Hooray for the Karri and Warren forest trails. Heading out on trusty treadles aka the MTB from town to see a few amazing big trees in the forest. A perfect windless day for tree climbing too. TFTC and the series that lured me into riding a few more kms!

TaurusSix and I have started our Easter holiday a day early, making Thurs our first official Easter holiday day. We are heading to Pemberton and basing ourselves there for four nights while we explore the region and everything it has to offer and of course fitting in as much geocaching as practical along the way, whilst still doing lots of other things too. We love the autumn weather and there is always something special about an Easter get away.

Day two has been full of adventure after a leisurely start including bird watching from our balcony over the lake, and a good hearty breakfast. We headed first to the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree , one of us had climbed this before many years ago and was keen to do it again, all the more enthused by the fact there was a Virtual Cache to be had. The other one of us is more sensible and decided to be the ground photographer instead. Both parties achieved their mission. Then it was on to the Heartache Trail to pick up the six traditional and one puzzle cache . Along the way here we stopped for plenty of short walks, lookouts and things of interest . This was a fabulous trail and a wonderful way to see the Karri Trees at their best. We then went int Northcliffe to have an explore around that little town and collect some more caches there before heading back to our accommodation and seeing lots of emus and kangaroos along the way which topped the day off nicely.

This was our third cache find of the day . What a spectacular place , this is one of the joys of geocaching it brings you to places you might not otherwise have known about . Cache quickly located , logged and replaced. Thanks for the cache jacaro44

A day in the forest. We saw many awesome trees today and found some very nice caches. Classic geocaching, really big boxes and even ammo cans behind trees, under a log... back to the roots.

Loved driving the Heartbreak Trail and hunting the yellow dots. Well, maybe not hunting, they came forward to meet us.

After a week in Nannup it was time to hit the trail again. We were heading for Manjimup but at the last minute changed our mind and headed to Pemberton.

This morning after a 11hour sleep we had a looksee for nearby caches and tada there was a few.

Headed out at 11.00am with lunch packed to see what we could find. Magnificent day in Karri country.

A small group of us came down this way on our South Coast Tag Along Cache Tour (which was the brain-child of SeabreezeOZ). I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make the trip, not having a "real" 4 wheel drive of my own, but Team Red Roo was more than happy to have me as a passenger to keep him company along the way. We all met up and camped at Alexandra Bridge the first night, then had a small event at Karridale before setting off. We headed east then south making our way to East Augusta where we picked up a couple of caches, including that had been taunting us for quite a while, never being able to get within cooee of it. That out of the way, we again headed east and south towards Black Point where we camped the next night. The track was a real adventure and there was some awesome scenery along the way too. The two earthcaches were our target the next morning before hitting the track again, making our way down to Jasper Beach for a lonely cache, then to Lake Jasper for the next night of camping under the stars. Beautiful scenery to be enjoyed, and the wildlife was impressive too, with quite a few different species being spotted along the way. Anyway, we got two more caches, including the really lonely (over 4 years unfound) Cattlemans Camp - talk about an adventure getting to that one and back out again. 100% find rate on all the caches on our list thus far, and sadly the time had come to get back on the bitumen. We followed our noses (aka gps units) from cache to cache as we worked our way towards Pemberton yesterday afternoon, spending the night at the Pemby Caravan Park and having a pub dinner. The hot showers were blissfully enjoyed too after three nights spent roughing it whilst off-road. We were the first to be packed up and ready to go this morning, so left the others to it and went off to find a cache or two, meeting up with them when they were finally ready to pull out.

After a few caches around Pemberton this morning, we made our way back this way via Beedalup Falls where we had trouble finding a cache yesterday - found today though, and all is again good in our worlds. We visited Lake Yeagerup before coming back for this series (a series I had been anticipating doing for a very long time), and the scenery was spectacular. We really enjoyed our twisting drive through the karri forest, and the Warren River was a delight. Found all of the series without too much trouble too, and the final is a beauty, so big, and so full of kiddie themed swag. All in all, a fantastic series in an awesome part of the world. Thanks for placing and maintaining this series of caches for the rest of us to come and find jacaro44, and for adding a whole bunch of smileys to our grand 4wd adventure.

Out on a 4-day south west exploration with Cravo10 with the eventual goal of meeting up for a group assault on the Top on Hop in Walpole Nornalup National Park.

Day 2 saw us leaving Margaret River and travelling via Caves Road to Augusta, and then eventually to our Pemberton where we stayed the night.

We started bright and early, and completed the night cache in town just as the sun was coming up. We then set to work on the remaining wharncliffe mill caches that we hadn't found, as parts of the track were closed on our last visit.

We caches our way via Redgate beach, and the Caves which had a number of good multi caches and loudys cache at the unmarked cave, which was a highlight of the day.

We continued towards Augusta, where we picked up all the caches around town except for one at the beach and enjoyed a nice walk to the creating the capes earth cache.

Confining on to Molloy Island where we grabbed the traditional there and onto sues bridge where we did a huge bush bash to get the t4.5 cache and a couple of others.

Eventually making our way to Pemberton via Beedelup Falls, we decided to complete the Heartbreak drive trail which is highly recommend and a great local series.

Our last cache of the day was an archived multi at the local cemetery and once we worked out one thing it was a quick find. Ironically the cache has had more finds after it was archived than it did when it was an active listed cache!

Thanks to the local COs for a great day out.

A Southwest escape again with Barnzy12 starting in Perth heading to Margaret river via Dunsborough yallingup and down the coast road.

Day two had us visiting Augusta to Pemberton with a great drive through heartbreak track with stunning Karri Forrest.

Day three was spend visiting Windy Harbour ... living up to its name and then through to Walpole where an epic walk up GC18W4D fire lookout ended the day.

Day four was to be spent walking through Walpole-Nornalup National Park to complete the Hop on Top walk and series of 7 geocaches. A great walk spend with a team of others.
The day ended with a huge drive back to Perth ready for a day of work on Monday.

During the 4 day adventure plenty of caches found around 90 with a good range of types and container sizes. Some great photos and memories to take away.

jacaro44 I found your cache Heartbreak Ramble B thanks for placing this hide for myself and others to find.

Have you logged your will attend for WAGB18? Dunsborough is where it’s all at this year check it out at GC7GXQA October 13th + 14th.

We were down in Pemberton this weekend for the Pemberton Classic bike race. Today after the race I had the afternoon off to do some caching. I've been wanting to do this series for a long time, and had never had the oppportunity until now.

I drove up to this one, and stopped in the parking spot, intent on my GPS. I jumped out of the car, and was very surprised to see a grey kangaroo sitting just metres away at the edge of the parking bay looking at me. After a short stand-off, it went back to eating its leaves. I got a very poor photo of it as I tried to get closer and it then decided to move on.

The cache was a relatively quick find after that and I noted the number I needed. Thanks for the cache jacaro44!

Took the boys out fishing today and decided to make this series part of the trip.
All caches were found fairly easily with the boys chasing the yellow dots.
Unfortunatley, a lot of them are quite waterlogged, with even some of the inner containers
Loved the drive around this series and the many stops along the way.
Thanks for a great series
