A string of DNFs and no maintenance from owner (who last found a cache in 2016) . Time this one was archived.
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
This one has been on our list for a while now after cracking the code for the locks. An early morning walk let us tot he GZ but after a quick search through all of the rubbish (ugh!!!) and a read of the previous logs, we have concluded that this one is gone. Some maintenance or archiving required here. [^]
Lots of rubbish but could not find the cache, may be missing with multiple DNFs may pay for a checkup if CO is still active?
Spent a long time searching for this one, but had no luck. Quite a bit of rubbish in among the trees, including an impressive assortment of condom wrappers.
Boy, what a dark GZ! We spent far too long here looking for the container. Looks like it is party central nearby.
On a caching weekend to Otago and Southland with Tuolei to pick up old caches, TMGT's, CANZ, solved puzzles and any others that caught our eye along the way. We had a 4 day long weekend planned that would take us around Dunedin on the first day, Tuatapere via Sutton, Balcutha, Mataura and Winton on the second day, Tokanui via Riverton, Invercargill and Bluff on the third day and then back to Dunedin via the Catlins on the last day. Overall we did 1578km and picked up just under 100 caches and managed to knock off most of the caches we had on our list.
Time for just a few puzzles in Invercargill before we had to leave, this was on our way and looked interesting as I had solved the code before our trip. Tuolei found the cache and we managed to extract the log soon after. All good here, TFTC.

On a caching trip with Bennett24, travelling around Otago and Southland collecting TMGT caches, oldies, solved puzzles and anything else interesting that we thought we would enjoy. This sounded like it was interesting so wanted to check it out and we weren't disappointed.
Good fun here but no match for Bennett24 who was into the cache in short order. Nicely done here though, well done. Thanks for the cache, all good here.

Thanks out geocatching with Kiscardi. Was quite surprised that the cache was there. Solved the numbers for the locks at home before I came to Invercargill.
A favourite point from me.

Thanks for the cache this is my 4th trip out here but brought a helper today and quickly found with a little help from geofriends back in March
Another smile for Invercargill

A bit wet and slushy getting to gz. Easy find amongst other trash. Forgot to bring code so did a quick recalc and won.
2nd lock missing still. Like the idea though.

The first day I've been able to get away and start on my celebration souvenirs.
Thought I'd start with the one with the most favs, but I've been here before without luck at least once.
Tried taking a friend, some time ago - no luck. And subsequent comments by previous caches didn't help!
Today after hunting for over 30min I messages a group of friends and with a nudge in the right direction soon spotted the elusive container. YAY!
Had combo 1 in hand but didn't need combo 2. Someone has inadvertently changed that number and it is locked open. Looked at the CO profile and (s)he hadn't been active recently, so have taken the useless lock and will try to open it. Know what number it isn't so just 9999 more to try!
This is a well planned cache, and worthy of a fav despite the difficulty in getting the first box.
I suspect the trees have grow and are affecting signal more than before. So it's west of the thing you keep coming back to, and more low than high.
Was spotted by a dog as I was re covering the hide. Quite noisy about me being there, so had to lead it back to its older owner. Don't know what he thought of my emergence covered in tree bits and likely with a damp bum!
Thanks for the smilie Bluebell23.

Thought I'd solved this one.. sorted the lock combo out...twice! (tho I did digital root of numbers). Then an 'aha' moment one more to try yup that did it! Was a bit unnerving trying to relock cache, pup had found another dog to have a run with and the owner was calling hers from outside the trees. Feeling like a weirdo hiding in there finally got it together lol tftc
*Took a wonder over to the 'pines' to give the cache a kick. Didn't have the codes handy but didn't have to open it to know it hadn't been disturbed from hide for awhile, the box was dry.*
Found 22 Mar 17 The device spun around like mad in here and I just reverted to grid search until the big box was in hand. Used the solved combo until the next stage. Maths on the fly, yep I roll with it. Unlocked the goodies and SL. Swapped out a bulky toy for some small change. Returned in place with a snap. Nice use of the PB28. TFTC

Found with our 2 and 5yo. A bit of a search for a needle in a haystack, one call to abandon was heard, but retracing steps found a clearing which got a good GPS signal and coordinates were spot on. Cache as found. Second stage is unfortunately broken. Cache signed ok.
Found it but part b needs to be fixed we found it and it wasn't connected so needs fixed thanks
*Tap-tap, box still in place; where would you hide a 2Lt box?*
*29 Oct 17 After finding the cache exposed and adrift, the drift had been corrected. Although one of the components to the puzzle has not been receiving maintenance from the CO after a few msg's - the cache has been left in a loggable state not trued to the formula. Needs a visit from the CO and/or familia to fix this one up again.*

Found 16 Oct 15 Fantastic, a puzzle easily solved lol. Pouring rain provided the cover, patience won through end the end. Thanks for the cash. All snapped back together with a jiggle. Still looking for the pine tree ho ho. TFTC

A bit of a waste of my limited time in Invercagill. A bit of a needle in a haystack search that yielded nothing. Coords difficult to pin down, and feel the hint just a deliberate slap on the face. DNF's are part of the game, but did not enjoy this one, sorry.
Sorry a bit late to log my Southland trip. Might have saved Swellerfungus from wasting their time. I too spent some precious time looking for the container. Its hard to progress to the lock stage when you can't find the cache. Spent a good 20 minutes looking as well. Checked GL first over a wide distance then swept back looking up each tree near the GZ. Who knows where it is. Did find 2 pegs clipped to a tree so wondered if they might be a pointer. A friendlier hint would help.
Back today after I couldn't find yesterday.
Brought a friend who has previously found it (in the dark) and neither if us could find the box today.

had to put on thinking cap bran no working to well at the end of the day got there in the end .Really liked this one tftc
Solved the first part at home and headed for the cache just before sunset. I forgot my flashlight and thought I couldn't find a thing there. With some luck found the container easily, just from the exact coordinates my GPSr agreed too. Locks were straightforward. Thanks for a nice field puzzle.
As we approached GZ we had to hope that there would be an odd one out pine tree in here. But no. Spent quite a while searching in amongst all the trees before eventually spotting the hide. After that we really enjoyed working our way through Lots of Locks until we could sign the log. Thanks. Adding a Favourite Point for the very well set up field puzzle.
Great fun was had completing this one tonight with Tuitigger. Perfect night for a neighborhood wander. TFTC and great job
Found 2nd time round. Solved first puzzle at home... brain too fried to solve next. Messenged a friend who is smart with these things. Had just as much fun putting back cache together again. Thanks and a fav point.
My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. The Seagnoid is navigator and scribe, Zara and I have teamed up and Im cache logger. Its The Catlins to Bluff today, so lets get going!
Stop here for a solved puzzle cache and this one we had to solve here. The Seagnoid quickly gets it sorted so we can snag and tag this one. Lots of fun. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 9: Catlins to Bluff.
Now this is an outstanding cache. We only stopped here as I had flagged it in my solved puzzles collection. It wasn't solved, but looked like it would not be too much of a problem. First there was the hunt for the cache, then, having found the cache, the hunt for the log book. Heck, even the container sizes are matched to perfection.
Loved this cache. Sorry I can only drop in one favourite. And an emerald. Would have had a path tag dropped in if I had any left. Maybe I did? I didn't make a note of it.
Awesome cache, well done.

I became an advanced member today, and wanted to nab this one close to home this afternoon. As I lay here on the forest floor with another DNF to my name, I feel it's time to give up, as the light is fading. Spent an hour crawling around, got busted by a dog, got asked out I was living in here. Not even sure what I'm looking for, at ground level or up the so called pine tree? Maybe im not as good at this game as I thought. Tomorrow is another day...
Solved the puzzle from afar way back in 2012. Found the cache (not under the hint tree, but another type frequently mistaken as being the hint type). However, was unable to open the combination lock, inspite of having working out the current coding on the web page and lock.
Oh my, oh my, oh my, what have I got here! A real nice wee number. My gps was a bit wonky for a start so did a bit of a grid search and soon discovered the puzzle. My brain is in a tiz after that one. Well worth a favourite
Had a look at this from home in Auckland before coming down, got an answer and write it down, arrived at GZ to find that the answer would not work so we sat down to re-solve. Beautifully put together and executed puzzle and gets a fav from us
I only live around the corner from this cache and walk the flood bank walkways often but have never gone down to find this one until I had my nieces so to entertain them we went looking. Alas, the brain could not function mathematically with them nagging me to get it open so I took it home to solve. Once the pressure was off, we got them opened easily. Apparently it was quite fascinating for them to open and lock the cases. So, thanks for the entertainment. Cache is now back where we found it, ready for the next problem solver to come along!
At last! Solved first puzzle months ago before cache disabled although in the mean time, lost diary with the answer. Solved again last night and cycled out here. Unfortunately iphone app was not going to cooperate and tell me where it was! Compass spinning lots while I searched and searched, almost have up. Loved the locks, putting everything back correctly was one if the toughest parts too. Thanks.

Went and checked on the cache after a couple of messages. Good work to the last 7 geocachers for getting in because I had a number wrong on the cache description! Will replace tomorrow
we worked on it for ages, think we have the right code, could it be the two locks are swapped?
Stumbled across this well on a walk. Took a while to crack the code, and didn't have anything but the log book inside so i added a few goodies
Somehow accidentally found it hahah. Also found 3 golf balls and a lot of empty cond... don't worry. Logged my username and now i'm off to the next one!
Together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3BC8B][red]'Dev46'[/navy][/url][/red] I was on a 'sightseeing-tour' through lovely [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green]
During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]
Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches

Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 9: [red]Southland[/red] including [green]Invercargill[/green] and [navy]Bluff[/navy]
Exploring the southern part of [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green] was our mission of the day
Driving around in the beautiful area we also stopped for some caches [:X]
This unknown cache was one of them
After some minutes we found a way to GZ...but then we realized that the cache is at the other side of the fence
Finding the correct entry(why is this cache wheelchair accessible[?]) it was only a matter of minutes(or locks ) to sign the logbook
I would like to thank all the cache owners for showing us these great places and maintaining all these caches,

This time worked out the puzzles correctly and got the containers open to sign the log.
Found this some time in May but forgot to log online. Seem to have had a couple of these in the last wee while whoops!
A couple of half days down south. Lots of new caches since I was here last. Thanks for hiding them!

Have been trying to find this one , found a spot in the hint but still unable to find
A quick morning find before flying to Christchurch for the next leg of my trip.
Loved this cache.
Loved this cache.
Stage 1 had been solved remotely by HelloMrs and we had a bit of fun working out how to access the log but got there without too much trouble +1

A well done favourite. Solved the first combo at home the rest easy on the spot. Found with rediguana and moneydork. TFTC.
We never thought we would favourite a cache hidden in this plant, but this was the exception. Getting into the logbook was the easy part, then our troubles began. Unfortunately while we were signing the log, the first padlock slipped back to the locked position, presumably on a different setting, and we were unable to unlock it again, so were forced to leave the first container unsecured. It appears we are not the first finders to do this. We apologise for our misdeed. TFTC
Replaced the first lock, dont stress if you accidentally change the code, I have plenty of back up locks
10 of 10 on a beautiful Southland day. A quick easy find and really enjoyed working out the info to sign the log. A favourite for me, a great idea. TFTC
I love these puzzle caches. Not too much brain work needed, but a challenge none the less.
Great to see this cache back up and running. Had worked out combination a while ago. Coords spot on and log book duly signed. a favourite point from me.
What a fantastic puzzle. so good to find something different. Must look very strange tho. 2 old folks sitting on the grass in the middle of no where. This deserves so many favourite points. a big TFTC
TFTC Bluebell23....been waiting for just the right moment to clear this one off my map
Loved the cache! Nice to see some more puzzles around town! Definitely worthy of a favourite point! TFTC
TFTC...easy find as we walk Meadow here most weeks....easy code to get into the first box but can't figure out the second code....still signed a book ..... great cache
Thanks Bluebell23, was able to figure the problems to unlock the locks. Lots of fun trying a few different combinations for second. Thor enjoyed his romp round while I solved. Nice day out for geocaching. TFTC!
Found the box quickly, had a bit of fun getting the first key to work, it was having a temperamental day apparently but we got there in the end. Fun cache, thanks
Sorry I think we may have broken the first lock. We got in and then went to relock but the lock was stick and even though we used the combination which we used to get in, the lock wouldn't budge so we could relock. So sorry.
Loved this one. Wish we had brought trackables to drop off. We will venture back in the weekend to drop some off. Also, we broke a lock when relocking. SORRY!
I have replaced the second lock temporarily so please excuse the clues written on cardboard until I get another 4 reel lock. Happy caching!
Joint FTF with Pipedream.Lots of locks and lots of patience putting it together again.TFTC
Tftc very clever idea
