Is Ned home? Apparently not and he's taken the cache with him it seems. The second one to dissapear from here! I placed one myself a while back but it went missing before I'd even listed it and while I was researching info about the location. I suppose I could have gone after this one sooner seeing it's quite close to home but again I've left my run too late.

We are having our second honeymoon to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, though really it is our 3rd honeymoon because we had one that involved a lot of flying visits to Brisbane, Healsville and Warnambool after we got married this time last year ( sort of a practice honeymoon) and then we went on the real honeymoon last November (2013) - cruising on the Danube River and of course caching.
For our 1st Anniversary we decided a visit to Pinnacle Valley Resort would serve as a suitable base location for some local caching, particularly today back up to Brown Brothers at Milawa and to visit Glenrowan for some Ned Kelly historic locations.
When we started caching this morning it was 32C, and by the time we were done it had topped 43C.
After a lunch break at Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, we decided to head on over to Glenrowan and attempt some Ned Kelly related caches.
So after 23 consecutive finds today with Sappy13 and Smart Sassy Siren, we bummed out on this one. Though, reading the cache logs says that the last cachet found this on Christmas Day and found it amongst the grass. Their log does not say whether it was placed back at the correct GZ co-ords, or what. Smart Sassy Siren took a photo of the place at GZ co-ords to verify with CO if that is where the cache is meant to be.
Anyway a DNF for today, but still a chance to photograph a beautiful and historic location.

First DNF for the day with Chaplain Mike. Our GPS x2 took us to within 1 metre of GZ but even after widening our search another 30 metres we still couldn't locate the cache. We found what looked like a possible cache hide however after reading the last log entry from a month ago (where the cache was found in the grass) I doubt the cache coordinates are still valid or the cache has gone missing. Needs maintenance posted also.

# 2977. Robmc and I were collecting a few of the out of the way caches that we haven't managed to do prior to this. This one sure is off the beaten track. We were heading from Beechworth to Benalla via this detour. The chimney is certainly an impressive remnant of the old home and it is a pity one can't get a closer look at it. Retrieved a TB from here that was last seen in Queensland in October. Will move it along in due course. TFTC

Off the beaten track with bettyboo3747.
I remember this location from visiting it with Chewin' and from the painting in the Glenrowan pub.
Not a lot to see here, but historic all the same.
Thanks, Robmc.

An awesome day in Kelly country. The morning started on a high note as a small crowd gathered in Greta to watch history in the making - Today Ned Kelly had his final wish put in motion.... to be buried in consecrated ground - A moving and touching experience to say the least.
The cache...
How perfect - I had every intention in dropping by here after the funeral and to have a cache at this location .....nice! the hide took a little longer than usual to find - it was hidden so well.
Cahce is in good dry condition.

Thx for the hide.

After a great Christmas at home with the kids, the girlfriend and I headed up to her sister's place in Lima. After a few windy and hot days up there I get a call from my fellow The Demolition Crew team member RebelActs who syas he'll be visiting the area with CrazyNatGirl! We decide to plan a day of caching in the Wangaratta area, and hit the easy drive-by's. I'm so sorry for the generic log, but given I'm over 200 logs behind (no internet or pc for the last few weeks) this is all I can manage. Thanks to all the CO's and their efforts.

It's a shame you can't get in closer to the old homestead, although there isn't much left of it nowadays. I found the cache without a problem. I still had one roll for lunch left, so I unwrapped it and began to eat on it when I looked in my rear vision mirror and spotted a white 4WD ute waiting behind me. I thought that it might have been from the water company so I quickly backed out.

It turns out that it was the Harrowangs. We had a good old chat before I headed off for a few more caches on my way back to Melbourne and left them to get back to work. After some email help on one of their caches, it was good to meet them in person. And thanks to treens.team for an interesting cache and for showing me a piece of history I wouldn't have otherwise known about.

#1360 mr harrowang was out this way for work this afternoon, so mrs harrowang hitched a ride out into the country. We were busy talking as we approached GZ & overshot the place. Did a U-turn and when paying attention realized there was a vehicle parked quite close to GZ. Good to meet Muzza in person, as we had been in email contact earlier in the week. Ned did not seem to be home, but we made ourselves at home and soon had the cache in hand. SL at 2.30pm Took: Captain Cook (wonder what he is doing so far inland?)Left: Cheeky Devil TB - hope he does not cause too much mischief here! Noticed that the grass has dried off very quickly this year. Mr harrowang used to visit this site in his younger days when the sign was readable! TFTC treenz.team and a chance to re-visit an historic site. Like a lot of old farmhouses around the chimney is the only thing still standing.

FTF SL @ 10:20am
Just happened to be in the area so I thought I would drop by to see if Ned was home but he wasn't.
I made myself at home anyway and had a looked around.
On my way to GZ I could see in the distance a couple of vehicle parked on the side of the road and people ducking in and out of trees, so I naturally thought it was a Geo Search Team until some cattle appeared and then it was clear that it was just Farmer type Muggles shifting stock so I slowed down and waited for the stock to be herded through the gate into the paddock, before traveling a few hundred further down the road to GZ.
Found the cache and opened it up to find it packed full with lots of swag and an empty log.
Took some swag and left more
TFTC and FTF prize
