An unexpected cache find today as I walked up through the bush on the southern path. I would have stayed longer to enjoy the views but the mosquitoes were out in force and accurate in their target!

We were explaining Geocaching to a muggle colleague at work, and realised that this unfound cache was not that far away to attempt at lunchtime. Today was the day we walked over to the cache with our muggle colleague and made an easy find. The cache container lid was unsecured, but thankfully because of the dry weather the logbook was dry. Signed the logbook and explored a little bit around the cache area before returning to work. Thanks Spindoctors for bringing us here, and teaching us a little bit about Sydney's history.

Spent the afternoon exploring Lane Cove National Park and afterwards we came over and found Old School Challenge - New South Wales, then continued the walk down to this cache. With the cache in hand, we signed the log then replaced everything as found. Cache container and contents are in average condition being slightly wet inside, but otherwise ok. Thanks for the cache The Spindoctors.

I was looking to avenge a previous DNF nearby and nabbed this one today. A beautiful place even in pouring rain with thunder and lightning! TFTC

Find 387 for the tribe.

After ticking off lane cove yesterday morning today it was time for a short bushwalk in the rain to sign the golden oldies nsw challenge. This one was in the vicinity and en route to the challenge cache. A lovely walk with only a few committed muggles running in the rain and a few more kayaking on the river this morning.

Wow this place has some history! Nice to see the work that has been done to regenerate the area, along with a few relics of days gone by. Imagine coming here by boat in it's heyday!

Cache located after a short search and after consulting the very helpful clue. Cache in great condition with plenty of room in the logbook. Replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache and for bringing me to such an interesting area!

I've always wanted to stumble upon a geocache without knowing that it was there, and this is the closest I've come to it! Knew one was coming up, and the light hit the spot so perfectly this may have been my easiest find yet. Absolutely loved the area + was amazed at how picturesque it was! TFTC!

Decided to go for a walk in our own backyard, found this one easily enough and ziggiau sacrificed some blood for the cause!

14-Jun-21
Decided to visit this area for a long weekend walk and visiting Fairyland ??? was appealing. I’ve been to many of these former pleasure grounds and it’s hard to imagine, now that everything is overgrown, just how many people would regularly come and enjoy themselves here.

Thanks to Pyobeon for maintaining. I know Spindoc Bob would be pleased to know that his cache is being well looked after.

Found with @ziggiau on a loop walk around the river.

I only came along this track for the "Old School Challenge" nearby, and wasn't going to detour to this cache until I saw who the CO was!

There are a couple of CO's that I will go out of my way to find their caches, and Spindoctors is one of them! I have found a few of their caches back in Canberra from when they lived there, so good to find one here! Looks like this was their very last traditional cache hide too....

Thanks for keeping this special cache alive Smile Recently replaced and in perfect condition

OCW Oldmorty and after slow start we took to the path to finding this cache. Loved the history and Oldmorty reminisced about visiting here in his childhood with grandparents. Beautiful location and imagined what this site used to look like with a dance hall, flying fox and wharf. Easy find and another tribute to the late CO. Took the 2 x trackballs to move along. Thanks for maintaining Pyobeon. FP and TFTC!

OCW morty8888. This one had been on the to do list for too long. I remember visiting Fairyland back in the 1940's with my grandparents for picnics. It was interesting to see how the area has returned to its natural state under the watchful eye of the NPWS and we enjoyed standing by the waterside reading the sign displaying the history of Fairyland.

Thanks for taking over ownership of this cache Pyobeon which I'm awarding a FP for the memories.

29-Dec-20
I have replaced the cache, where it always was, but a bit more camoflaged. Currently it is log only - whilst the overall size is still small, the capacity really only accomodates the log and pencil. I'll replace again later with something bigger. But for now it is back in play.

I have messaged Spindoctors twice (Jul and Dec) and had no reply. From their profile they do not seem to be currently active. I have have discussed with tiddalik, and I propose to look after this cache, and intend to replace it in the next couple of days. If anyone object, please let me know.

The Spindoctors

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.

If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Visited today to drop off a TB that has been around the world with me but failed to find a new resting place. Unfortunately the cache seems to be missing. I first found it in 2013 and visited twice in 2016 to drop off TBs (it’s close to home and a nice walk). The cache was not where it had been these last three times. As there has been some pretty severe weather recently, I fear the worst. I did not do an exhaustive search as the area was thick with mozzies and I had left the Aerogard at home.

Fave point added!

The cut&paste bit: Today I walked the 28Km+ 7Bridges Walk in Sydney for the 4th (or 5th?) time. This time around I was quite prepared with a list of geocache.com geocaches, as well as a list of Geocaching Australia (GCA) caches. Normally when I make caching plans I get distracted by something interesting and find few or none of my planned caches, but today was quite a success. The defined route helped! I finished the walk at 4:24 (official event end time was 4:30!) I planned my phone battery power well, bagged a few Pokemon on the way, and even did more caching afterwards. All up I found 9 GC caches, 3 GCA caches - not counting 8 for the 7 bridges and a ‘Completion’ cache - plus probably a bunch of GCA unloved. Thanks for all the caches everyone!

THIS CACHE: Never having heard of this cache before, initially this was just some cache a bit further along the track after "Old School Challenge - New South Wales". However with a beautiful outlook and some great signs telling me about a time gone by I found this a wondrous place. Cache nicely located and hidden (notably with permission) I was soon able to sign the log. After a day of long walks, sore legs (now), and endorphins/adrenaline coursing through my body all day, I think I was in more than one type of Fairyland. Thanks for the cache and for bringing me here!

A gorgeous, warm, late winter Saturday afternoon when I was in need of some sunshine and fresh air. This track and Pleasure Ground was just the tonic to refresh me. Hopped on Maisie, the little red scooter, and parked at the Quebec road end. Nice nature views the whole way along. Could imagine the early century crowds eating strawberries and playing tug of-war. Container is well hidden yet easily accessible. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

21-Jul-19
A little Sunday stroll, this time testing a walk from North Ryde to Roseville. Of which this section was by far the nicest for views.

The Fairylands Pleasure Grounds is a whole new things to me and it was interesting to read the signs to see what a lively place this has been in the bygone era. Very little of that is left any more, pretty much just the majestic Phoenix palms which must have looked wonderful back then.

The cache was an easy find and all is good here. Thanks for showing this old busy place, The Spindoctors!

After yesterday’s winds, not a day to play golf, today is a perfect winters day. No muggles around which is a pity as it was such a fairy land. Voices can be heard from the other side. TFTC

Nice little walk on a warm Sunday. Didn’t even about this place, got to GZ and there was two muggles sitting near by. Pretended I was reading the board then found it, walked away and signed the log then the trick was getting the cache back without looking dodgy, hopefully they were too busy in conversation.

Muggles: None
Weather: Warm winter afternoon
Cache condition: Good

My son was attending a birthday party nearby, so I decided to find some caches rather than returning home. I parked in an office's carpark (figuring the risk of my car being clamped was small given I was the only person around on a Saturday) and headed down the path and then along the river until I got to GZ. The wind was creating a hum from the plants that have taken over the grasslands, and gave the whole place a slightly surreal feel. I found the container itself without any issues (TNLNSL), and then went and had a look at the river.

Thanks for sharing this interesting spot, and for those keeping this cache going after the sad loss of the CO.
