Out for a wander in some never before visited areas. Enjoying the new places we are discovering. Signed CS43 & SCAHPA to save room on the log - TFTC
Sunday afternoons the dog and I get a couple of hours in the Eastern suburbs whilst son Number one catches up with mates. Today we explored the Koala habitat bushlands and of course found a few caches on our walk. This was the first time for me in this section of bushland. And this was my first cache by this owner. I had a good explore, but had no luck with the find. Back to the path a couple of times to make sure I had not passed it by. I read some prior logs and others had had similar difficulties, so I persisted. Then, cache container was spotted all tucked away. The cache container and log book were in good shape. Signed my name and I was on my way to another cache. Thanks very much for this placement TMrabbit. The hint is a good one. Cheers
Glad to find this one, after a previous DNF. Log is a bit damp but still able to sign. Head South a bit from the GZ. TFTC.
Second time doing this series. Kids are older now and better at finding things than us oldies. TFTC The Domjahn's
Headed out footfor a few caches today.
Decided to hit a few around Burbank by doing the Creepy Rabbit series.

A catch up with a friend was well and truly due. Rather than sitting and drinking coffee, I suggested we go for a bush walk while chatting. I cleverly chose an area where I had a heap of caches to get. This area would be great for a bike ride as it is all relatively flat. Our first point of entrance into the forest had us wondering if a track was evident in this bushland at all. But after a few hairy moments with some big spider webs and long grass, the track became apparent.
We got about 11 caches today and my muggle friend was quite good at spotting the goods, even though she was constantly freaked out about the thought of snakes and spiders. Well, let's just say the cache containers didn't always help with that!
Today, however, we didn't see a single rabbit. Thinking perhaps they were in disguise to avoid Elmer Fudd.
Took a while to find this one but I am glad we got there in the end.

Set out to find some more of the rabbits today. Lovely walk after the rain and quick find. Log is dry. TFTC
Very funny!: I had to look what Nobby means in German language ( as in Germany Nobby is the nick name of a politician).
Okay, we got a translation from Mr. Google but it didn't help really.
What I had in my mind before I googled was much more suitable, and I discovered the cache! Another fav point!

Took me a while and I still don't understand the hint, but got it in the end! Sneaky one
I had a DNF on this one a couple of days back. There is a complete difference in what one can see in late afternoon light and full sun at midday. Yes it is behind knobby.
Failing light but still had a good look, Three in a row along this track as DNF's. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth for the end of the day.
We circled back past this one and thought to give it another go. For whatever reason we were able to find it immediately this time. Fresh perspective I guess. TFTC.
Really didn’t want this to be a DNF but after searching every nob, stick & stone we had to admit defeat
Late this afternoon, a plan to head farther afield wasn't viable, so instead, I met up with oz_bean_counter for a little bit of rabbit hunting. It's been years since I last found any, and I do have some left. After some navigational confusion, I lead us to a good parking area and we headed through a gate and down the bush track.
In my memory, this series was likely to be well off-track, but I was mistaken and this first was right beside the track after a short walk. However, that would be where the ease ended. Despite both of us navigating with phones, each bounced around somewhat. Whatever, we can check a lot of locations.
Then the minutes rolled by. Looking in and under, near and far, beside and around everything. No such joy. A look at hints, photos and logs didn't really seem to help. We made many quips about "having a boy look" and our combined several thousand finds of experience. As is usually the way, just as we were about to walk away, OBC spotted it.
Nothing difficult, not super tricky; just a spot we hadn't looked. Maybe we were overthinking it, or maybe we just weren't in the groove yet. But, the logbook was signed at about 16:50 and we headed along to the next neither of us had found. Thanks for this geocache, TMRabbit

Took a couple of bites at this one. Initially we searched and searched to no avail. Decided to come back to it later on our way back to the car. This time we found it! All good with the cache.
I walked around and around and around THE spot and eventually found the cache. TFTC.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with Mansfield parkrun followed by a nearby breakfast. With a recent solo visit to Mount Gravatt lookout, we finished out the morning to see the views from there before proceeding home.
In the afternoon, we headed out to Westfield Garden City, and I then headed east to Rochedale followed by Burbank bushland to walk around the Rabbit / Creepy Rabbit series.
I spotted this cluster of "Rabbit" series earlier today, and thought it would make a good adventure and jog around. I followed the geocaches' instructions to park on Alperton Road (I ended up accessing the area near the corner of Leacroft Road), and all up, I managed to complete the series cluster in just under two hours. My only problem was leaving my walking/jogging until arriving at about 17:00 hr, and so it started to get quite dark by the end of my visit. I had brought with me limited supplies, which meant I was relying on my mobile phone's torch towards the end, and managed to just get me back to the car with finding the caches with 1% battery left! Otherwise, it was a really nice area to visit with the creek/water, and a few wallabies spotted hopping in the forest. Unfortunately, with water comes mosquitoes and cane toads, and so a few of those were spotted. The caches were largely quite creative, and all up, a recommended area to visit!
I continued my jog through the area, stopping off at this geocache, and I lost a lot of the remaining light while I was here. It took me a while to find this cache, as there were quite a few plausible hiding spots, and the coordinates were also bouncing around under the tree cover, and taking me around the place. I don't think I also quite understood the hint, and just as I was about ready to give up and move on, I finally located the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks TMRabbit for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Early morning walk with GrannySmith 1947 in the Koala Bushlands.
Nice find. Widened our search and someone said another nobby and I knew exactly where to go and we both got it together.
Pays to read others logs sometimes.

Found on a great expedition with the GM clan. Matty found it before the rest of us. This was our final find for the morning with an amble of about 4 km for George and Mrs George, Son and his wife, and three grandsons who all enjoyed the geocaching expedition. TFTC TMRabbit.
Usually being called a knob isn’t a good thing - According to Urban Dictionary, a knob is a particularly obnoxious person.
I guess ol’ knobby here could be obnoxious in stature, but I wouldn’t classify him (her?) as having a particularly obnoxious personality. In fact, ol’ knobby here was quite helpful in assisting us with the location of this cache!
This is the start of our caching adventure here in Koala Land. Not sure how far we’ll get, but thanks for the promising start!

Did these ages ago and forgot to post the drafts. Off to finish the rabbits off after a years break.
Found Knobby first and then the cache after a little hunt.

TMRabbit I found your cache Woody - Rabbit on 1/7/20, 10:25 am. This is my find 2584 and find # 4 today. With lost _gecko, after a brief search, soon had CIH. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Found 1024 with redbackspider - great spot, hint don't really help. Another one on the great treasure hunt. Took monkey left chicken. TFTH
Headed off early this morning to tackle this dense little patch of caches. Lovely morning for a cache hunt.

It was a slow start for us this morning sorting out a few things at home and chatting with kids before
they went to work. We tossed and turned about what to do as the weather was a bit overcast and in
the end we did a bike class to get us motivated, had a late breakfast/early lunch and then came over
to the other side of town for a walk.
Of course, we didn’t read the cache descriptions before we came and entered at the wrong point
and had to get back in our car to the right entrance, one day we will be better prepared. We saw the
local neighbours with a group of friends having a bbq on their veranda before we headed in, so good
things are starting to get slowly back to normal!
We really enjoyed our walk in here this arvo, great spot that we had never come across before and
there were some great hides in here.

After our nice walk yesterday finding caches nearby my husband and I decided to come back again today. Today we only walked 6km in 2 hours. Only saw 1 person in this track today. Such a beautiful spot. Thankyou for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy . At gz we soon spotted this crafty cache.
Found quickly on today's tour around this area.

Chamad was telling me the other day that he was wanting to try and do 50 caches in a day for the badge, so yesterday I asked if he was keen to go out and find them. We organised a time and place to start our run which was by Burbank. We wandered around a few reserves and then decided to head towards Springwood for a few Earth caches, mystery’s and trads.
All in all we had a great day out and we’re both completely exhausted.
Sorry for the generic post.

What an awesome day or should that be exhausting! Out with geonayfee to try and complete 50 plus caches in a day. With this cache we completed it.
We completed 2 series and a few target caches, a few earth caches and a couple of puzzles…. Awesome day and a lot of driving and walking but the challenge was completed, thank you for being part of our challenge, next is 80 in a day
Loved this series, a nice range of different types of caches and a surprise at each cache, thanks
had to come back for a second look for this one, very nice hide, changing it up lol

Going about our search with implements at hand when geokid says “let me look at that st....”. Clever find TFTC
Searched around the area but couldn't find it. It was already starting to get dark so decided to move on to get few other nearby caches to finish the day.
Remember to grab some lunch for dinner!!!! Log is saturated so badly that you can’t open pages.
This was my first find today while out for a walk with the geopup. Took me some time due to the sneaky camo. A great one, TFTC!
Cool cache has come adrift from top so replace as good as cool and camoed it tftc
Found it. Just needs a little maintenance as it was just loose on the floor. Hid it back as best we could. Tftc
Came out here with Bristracker to get some caches with favourit points to help earn some souvenirs. When we arrived Bristracker discovered she had already found the caches here...Oh well she was happy to accompany me as I found them. Nice hide here. TFTC
Out with the MB to collect some finds to boost my Feb stats this morning.
Was not first to the parking but still early.
This cache was a quick find for me after I moved from the most obvious place

I was at this one before I knew it! Not a far off the path and another clever concealment. I note that I am signing logs after Woodyrothwell so I feel incredible pressure to tell an amusing story. But I prefer pictures and Woody Rabbits friend Nobbly is a beautiful tree.
With a name like Woody Rabbit, I was never going to let this cache escape without a favourite point. My nickname has been Woody since before my mum and dad even did the funky chicken together.
Recently my daughter who I started caching with tried to get the nickname “Woody” put on her high school jersey for senior year. That’s fair enough because even the the teachers call her that. The name was rejected because it was considered sexual innuendo, and could be misinterpreted by men. Well I flared up and sent some of the most politely informative emails I could to the teaching staff involved. My wife works at the school so unfortunately I had to slow my roll but I’m still pissed about it. There are lots of people that don’t even know me and my kids have first names.
Enough political high-horsery. Thankfully we got a bit lucky with this cache which is a cool hide but based on the name alone I was never going to leave it. In contemplation I think I now understand why all the old men at the pub want to keep buying me drinks. Woody is a gorgeous name for a man. tftc

Out for the day collecting some more numbers to try to get my World Turtle souvenir. Apologies for the copy/paste logs, after skiving off my studies to find the caches I really don't have as much time as I'd like for writing logs.
Not far from the path - in fact I would have missed it completely had I not turned around and seen something suspicious
Doing some night caching - found Nobby -he is quite interesting with all his bumps. Signed log. TFTC
