Logs
An evening caching trip led to expectations of a difficult time here considering the surroundings, but the cache was in hand quickly. Log was soaked so wasn't able to write my name. TFTC!
Out for a days caching with Remaker13 and Riser5 - logging as T18. Once we spotted the right tree a quick find. TFTC
Out on a caching adventure with Tikitour and Riser5 to get 100 geocaches for the hidden creature souvenirs. Logging at T18. TFTC
Log wet so replaced in bag.

We started searching for an acorn tree, but could not see any here. Widened our search area and soon spotted the sneaky hide. Cache was a little tricky to open, and the log was saturated. We didn't have any replacement logs on us, so picked up an empty muesli bar wrapper and signed ourselves in on this.
Mrs Jag finally found the acorn tree and once we managed to get the cache open it was full of water and the log was mush. We did some CITO and found a wrapper on the ground and signed our names on that. Log needs replacing
I think I was here before since I had a strong sense of deja cache. After looking around a it I got extremely lucky and spotted the cache. Unfortunately, the log is TWTS. TFTC.
Was in the area this morning so walked along here to grab a couple of trads. Eventually found the suitably themed cache but couldn't open it. Will email a foto as proof of find. TFTC
Had a quick look for this one but workers right next to GZ were getting interested in what I was up to...next time perhaps, if its still there.. cheers V.
Oh yes very difficult, had to walk all the way down from the nearby cache "(Nothing But) Flowers", but after a short search was soon spotted. Neat container and thanks for the hide.
Even though the C.O thinks it is hard (and it was hard) I managed to find it anyway, I could have been here for ages potentially, and don't even ask me what an acorn tree looks like, I only know because I found the cache and I assume the tree upon it was is an acorn tree! Cheers TWS.
Another find opened the container and it had a mini ants nest in it cleaned it up signed log replaced for the next finder
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who is staying now for more than five months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
Now the second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Here we go: Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
Of course, even if it is not our main activity during this holidays, we will looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to TheWonderStuff for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

Headed out to Waiwera Spa today and grabbed a few caches along the way there and back. Mycro Man thoroughly enjoyed the spa. Was worried we were going to struggle, but found it pretty quickly. Thanks for all the caches along the way,
Collecting a couple of caches for our daily streak after chasing a white ball around the nearby golf course. This one took a little longer to track down. Surprisingly the log was a rotting mouldy mess. Replaced plastic bag & log. Not sure how long it will last if the container is not keeping the water out...... TFTC
A massive day ahead... Today's adventure requires 50 caches with at least a kilometre of separation. It's also a Dot Day for me... And we are interested in finding any caches that were published within a week of today... No problem! Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a planned route that will take us as far north as Waipu (Northland).
This one took us a while to sort out... We were looking for an established sort of tree, but there were far too many to make a quick find. After several minutes, we spotted the cache in among the greenery. The log was a bit damp, but Gap's pen seems to work well in these conditions. TFTC.

Frost at home this morning and 2 degrees and today is going to be a biggie for us. Planned at attempt our challenge of 50 caches a kilometre or more apart, problem is we have almost cleaned out all caches within 100 Km's of home so arranged with Hemi (Squirrel Nutcase) to pick up at 6am and head north. For some reason I was up at 3.15am so this just added more time to my day. Caching was a little sparse until we got to about Silverdale. State Highway 1 was very busy and with caches on both sides of road, watchful eyes were very important.
10.50am - Soon spotted side roadway and able to park at GZ. This cache was full of water and needs some TLC. SLTFTC

Spent a while looking in the wrong trees.
Finally found pretty much where I started.
This tree is a pittosporum ! Thanks

Todays caching day was supposed to be all about 4WD along Muriwai Beach and grabbing those letterbox hybrid caches along the beach. The weather was favourable, tide timew was good as well and the geomobile full of fuel. Only problem, no company. My intended travellers pulled out one by one leaving me alone and, sniff, sad.
Nothing for it but to call off that mission and come over to Silverdale to grab a few easy caches to push the numbers along. There are absolutely loads here and in a new area that's always a winner. It also means I can park in one place, walk a loop grabbing 4 or 5 or 6 the go and move the car again to tyhe centre of the next cluster. Managed over 30 today which although not massive numbers was a nice gentle trip and back here at a decent time with time to log them and do all the humdrum extras before work again tomorrow.
Moved the car up to nearby and walked another loop of 6 caches.
Looked for an oak tree and took a while to spot this. Emptied out a bit of water though log book dry enough to sign

Scrambled up through the bush from main road, then after some minutes of looking I studied hint and then spotted it straight away!!
Many thx for a great hide

Thanks for the cache, this is the first time I have used a handheld GPS to go Geocaching. Nice quick find the clue helped out a lot! Thanks for the cache
Another quick find. I have never seen a cache container like this before! TFTC.

This looked like a good spot to get out of the traffic and find a couple of caches. Hide was very quickly spotted. Cache is very wet inside. Cheers for the cache placement!
Quickly spotted this one hanging about, a rare happenstance for hanging hides!! TFTC
The description says that it might be a harder to find, and it was, as these hanging one's always seem to hard to actually see. Consequently it took me quite a time to find it. The log could do with replacing though as it is quite damp and soggy.
#41 of the 50 caches in a day, at least 1K apart, geolicence challenge.
Had seen this cache before, when out with a friend (but didn't want to sign it then), there's been a bit of cache creep - the acorn tree has changed TFTC

[green] At long last, after two weeks of Auckland Mega and the GeoTours North and South, I can get my bike out and go for a ride. Over 30 caches by bike today!
Well, I got here and found the cache okay, and was thoroughly confused. I know darn well that the CO knowns this is not an acorn tree. It wasn't until now, three days later, as I write up this log that the penny dropped. Yes! Acorn tree!

Another good find with TuisReturn while in the area for the MEGA.
Soon had the container found SL TFTC

After an initial search I was concerned it was going to take some time to spot this one but it quite quickly then presented itself. Thanks!
5588. Driving from Orewa to Hamilton picking up a few caches on the way. This was cache number 9 for the day. A quick and easy find. Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
Found surprisingly quickly. Like previous log, log book swimming in water. Dried out as best we could, able to sign. Fantastic views. TFTC
Once we found it we were amazed how long it had taken but it may get easier as tree is not in best of health. Also surprised how wet acorn was inside. Would have thought gc.com would have engineered such a neat liitle case for that. Log still signable, just. NINO TFTC
Second time lucky. First time round spent about 20mins, this time less than 5mins once we decided that gz was spot on. Great hide. Tftc
About to DNF but then thought where would I place it and yes it was there, so maybe should have thought before I just started looking

Thought we were in for a bit of a hunt on this one but Mrs Geckoh had it in hand in moments of arrival, much to Misss Geckoh's disgust as she was planning to claim the glory! TFTC

Glad I bought my eagle eye mrs with me! Haven't seen one of these containers before.
We were almost ready to abandon search for this one when Furbies geocaching eyes spotted the little guy, not what we were expecting at all. TFTC.
Well this one had us searching, just when we gave up, I turned to heard for the car, and it jumped out at me. Boom.. There it is! TFTC.
This one had us frustrated, but only for a short time, Furbies soon spotted cache and log signed. TFTC
Out and about grabbing the Silverdale caches. This one gave me the most trouble today. I had to PAF. Thanks.
Definitely coming back to find this one as the ground zone was too "extensive" and it was getting hot, with both team members keen to head home!
Finally made the effort to stop and grab this one. Dropped Ryan off to search while we went and turned the car around. Love the container and the placement. Thanks for another new cache in the area.
I was out this morning to pick up 18 of the new Silverdale caches that I haven't done as yet. For my ninth I did not see an acorn tree but I saw a tree with an acorn in it.
Cheers for the cache.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We decided to head up to Silverdale on Friday evening to work through the new Silverdale Town Centre series, it was a lovely evening for caching. At this stage it was dark, so we were a bit worried that we may not find something hanging in the tree (they are hard at the best of times!) but we noticed something shiny before we had even got the torch out - neat container! Thanks for the cache!

Took a little while to spot, these types always seem to, new type of container to me.

Mopping up a few recent caches in the area. GPS was all over the place, but found after a few minutes. TFTC
Haven't seen one of these before. Didn't see an oak tree either. Took a wee while to spot but as soon as I did, I wondered why I didn't see it sooner given the hint and spot-on co-ords (isn't this often the case, though). TFTC.
Hung around looking for acorns. Must be wrong season. Plenty parking out of smugglers view
We had just finished our Christmas shopping at Albany and headed to the closest cache. Arrived at GZ and spotted the cache almost immediately. Have not seen this type of cache container before. Greeted with a blank log and were very surprised that this had not been before now. FTF. TFTC.
