With a few choices, I found the cache 14m from where my phone GPS indicated. With my last find being in Pattaya, Thailand, it was a pleasant walk back in the Australian bush! TFTC
A busy day today with a drive to the airport to pick up my new roommate for the week. Then over to the Southside to pick up a cache before heading over to an event. After that it was a drive to take some people to the Queens land cache and the bonus ones in the area. From there it was a drive to Deception Bay and grab a few more caches and then shopping for groceries and home, phew. My last cache for the day and we had some fun here trying to read the graffiti on all the trees. My buddy had never seen so much on a tree before and asked how did it get there. I said it was from all the local kids learning to write. I don't think she believed me. We saw some new black boys that were in flower. So much activity in a small place.
Nice hide, found dry and well, took a few trees before the obvious prevailed tftc
TftC Slow Puncture and the cacher who replaced this cache. Love the squiggles on the trees.
It's very green in here after the fires. Thanks for the cache Slow Puncture (LJCC)
I have friends in Priests Road and found this cache years ago. Was concerned when I saw the National Parks people doing a back burn last month. After noticing the DNF I went for a wander and I couldn’t find anything either, so I have place another container.
I would hate to see this one archived as once they have disappeared from National Parks they will never come back.

After a few drinks on Friday night I was a little slow to get moving this morning but I had north of the pine as my target and a few traditionals in my sights that needed cleaning up.
I quickly parked the car and made the walk to ground zero. With no muggles to. Intend with the cache was found quickly and the mode extracted and signed. The cache was carefully returned to its hiding place and I made my way back to the car.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available for fellow cachers to find.
Cheers

On way home from Redcliffe Hospital, called by to locate this cache, found many Scribbly Gums, but had to scratch around like a bush turkey till did find the well hidden cache, stamped my sign and replaced as found, Thanks Slow Puncture, all is in good condition here
Caching today on the water with RoddyC grannysmith1947 snickersallan. Always seems to be a dot out there that needs a smile.

A very early morning trip up from the Gold Coast to venture out on the water for an enjoyable paddle and some land based caches with Team TBU's, grannysmith1947, patrol14, hatzofff, RoddyC and Imbunda.
All caches found today were in good condition, and a special thank you goes to all the CO's for placing them.

Planned some water caches this morning, then some land ones pm. In the group, besides myself, is hatzofff, patrol14, Grannysmith1947, TBU1Bikesu and Snickersallan.
Gotcha! Reading previous logs certainly helped. Lots of "barking" around.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 12:46 pm on 22 March 2023. TFTC, Slow Puncture

Slow Puncture (LJCC) I found your cache A Walk In The Black Forest on 2/3/2023, 11:05 am. This is my find 4780 and find # 2 today. Decided to have another look after the cache was found after my DNF. Searched around again for quite a long time and was about to give up and PAF when I uncovered the well hidden cache. Glad to get a yellow find on this one, not the easiest to find. My advice keep searching it is there. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
This took a bit to find, but it is there. After reading some PF's posts, I set about my search. Bingo, got ya.

Slow Puncture (LJCC) I didn’t find your cache A Walk In The Black Forest on 21/9/2022, 12:38 pm. Searched around but nothing found.
Don’t tread on me might be another good name for this one! Super sorry but we lost our implement on the way. Log book was in great condition but we have nothing now to sign with we did find a random cache with two long missing trackables in it and no book or label on the badly damaged container.
That conversation on the other side of this park went something like this: Just walking in park and a geokid said, I found a cache, we said, the closest one is on the other side, they checked and yes it is a cache. Container is pretty rough and had two trackables in it. So not sure what happened? The flood? The 2010 flood even? These guys have been lost a long time- like 2007 long.

Today, the plan was a kayak along Hays Inlet with a small group of adventurous folk. Launching from Clontarf, we initially headed west to the small cluster of geocaches around Freshwater Creek, before proceeding north up the inlet towards Saltwater Creek. Increasing winds towards lunch did cut the adventure short for a few kayakers, and it was a hard slog kayaking back against the south-easterly gales.
Following the kayak, I had the afternoon for solo geocaching, visiting a variety of places along the coastline. This included Scarborough with a few *Witch's Hat* geocaches, then Newport with the *Newport Canal* series, followed by a visit to Deception Bay and the completion of the *D'bay Heritage Trail* Adventure Lab. I then returned towards Brisbane following a few service roads in Narangba and Dakabin picking up a few miscellaneous geocaches as it turned dark.
I was beginning to lose light by the time that I made my way here, and I had made a plan to start to mosey back towards Brisbane/home. This cache hadn't been found for 5-6 months, so it sounded like a nice target to walk to. I parked, and walked through Freshwater National Park to get to this cache, passing by a down tree and a makeshift track around that tree.
Arriving at GZ, there seemed to be a few scribbly gums, and so after going from one side of the path to the other, I started to hunt around. There was a pretty cool hollow base scribbly gum that was crying out for a cache, but nothing was found in there either. I ended up spending about 20 minutes searching the area, and I nearly left with a DNF, had it not been for one last look around. I decided to search deep amongst the bark, and whether it was the last six months of bark fall that contributed, the cache was well buried and away from the base of the tree, which certainly inhibited the search. The cache container and logbook were in good shape nevertheless. Thanks Slow Puncture (LJCC) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A public holiday seemed the perfect day to go out caching with geohubby and hit my next mini milestone. Hubby decided to stay in the car and let me fend for myself with this one. I headed in, and was impressed by the smell of the trees around me - lovely. Taking a short walk from the car I found GZ fairly easily. However, once I was there it was a game of 'which one'. The coordinates pointed me in the right direction and I was very glad NOT to come across the brown snake mentioned in an earlier post - but I did come across many, many mosquitoes. It didn't take too long to uncover the cache's hiding spot, log signed and cache replaced well.
TFTC and for bringing me here.

A short stroll with my neo-cacher Scotty. The cache was quickly found. TNLNSL TFTC
Came to the bush for a run and saw a cache on the app. I love it down here - it’s peaceful in the middle of the burbs. TFTC
Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Nice quick find while enjoying a walk in the area Thanks for the cache
Nice area. Haven't walked through it much. Thank you for bringing us here
This was a nice way to finish the afternoon! And educational too reminding the the littlest geokid to watch his step on such a warm arvo... TFTC
It really doesn't look like the Black Forest, we know this, because we live there.

Found after a quick walk in search and retrieve and sign. All is good with this one and returned as found TFTC from the inspectorrexteam.
Heading back home after a lovely few days in this area and stopped for a last cache. Parked at the entrance and wandered down the trail to GZ where the cache was spotted. Log signed and cache returned where found. Thanks Slow Puncture for placing it in the lovely place.
On my back from Margate decided to pop into the National Park for this one, quite a quick find after very nearly stepping on a meter long brown snake that was in the leaf litter. He wasn't interested in me and slithered away.
After an exhausting week at work due to the end/beginning of the financial year, I was chomping at the bit to get outside today into some fresh air and hunt down a few caches. Couldn't have picked a better day for it, it was certainly Goldilocks weather - not too hot and not too cold, even with the wind blowing. Although the main reason for my trip over this side of town was a bust, I did pick up quite a few others including this one.
A Nice easy walk in to this one to test out the new pair of hiking boots I was breaking in today. Cache found safe and well after a short search. TFTC

Found it thanks! Was about to give up on this but thought I'd look again on our way out.
A quick detour on the way home from work to grab this one.
Spotted it quickly once I arrived at GZ

A few scribblys 2 choose from with a sloppy GPS, but cache soon located! T4TC
Beautiful walk through the national park. Thing I love most about geocaching is finding those hidden spots in your local area you may never have discovered before. Favourite for pointing out this spot. Log found and signed nice and dry. Love the scribble gums.
We parked as directed and had a lovely walk up the fire trail, this is indeed a lovely piece of remnant bush-land, hopefully it stays for a long time. SL TFTC
A day off for my birthday and my daughter, A & I were off on an adventure!
First stop was the nearby plant shop to as A had not been there before and she is an avid pot plant collector, so this was exciting. After some plant & pet fungi purchases, we ambled over to the black forest to get the geocaching started...
Quick walk in and quick find near the aforementioned scribbly.
Took vial of fluffballs, left leopard earrings. Sorry only saw the mention of no swaps today as logging. There were a few in there but not likely to attract wildlife.

A lovely stroll after a hard day at work plus find a cache makes for a good way to end the shift! Tftc
Been for a paddle. Been for lunch. Now have the rest of the day to while away until it is time to go to work.
I had rounded up most of the other caches in the area, so it seemed sensible to hunt for this one.
It took a while to find. It had been covered by some fallen branches. Moved them aside to make it easier for future finders.

TFTC learnt something interesting about this place. Never heard or noticed these amazing trees before
Found today while looking for a place to cycle. Noticed all the no cycling signs around the reserve which was quite a pity. Before leaving we noticed a cache not too far down the path so we quickly parked the car and took a stroll to find this one.
All in good order. Thanks for the cache!

To break up the monotony of job hunting, a quick drive over to Freshwater National Park to pick up this cache.
A nice quick find and now I know what a scribbly gum tree looks like.
Thanks!!

We have met up with Liz and Bruce, camping in the Caboolture showgrounds for a couple of days.
Today was our last day together & we returned to where we had caches yesterday. This is a great way to visit the area. A variety of caches & hides found.

As we pulled up here there was a vehicle stopped in front of us, and we wondered whether it was a cacher or not. As they turned and drove off they looked a little like Rastas, but upon finding the cache with no other log for the morning we figured we could confirm it was neither Rastas nor another cacher.
Omen Innuendo had said this was the sort of caching he enjoyed most, where you actually get out and go for a nature walk.... until of course he got a face full of spider's web, but I think we still both agree we prefer the nature aspect any day.
The horse across the road had run up to the fence to say hello when we arrived, but upon our return to the car, it had gone back to its spot under the shade.

Visiting here with TBs and to pick up a Geocoin that we will take to New Zealand for the Mega
On our way back up the Bruce after an appointment at Prince Charles so stopped off for this one. Lots of trees but no gateaux!!! A lovely walk to GZ and a quick find before signing the log and replacing as found. TFTC Slow Puncture
Randomly selected this side of town for a bit of geocaching . Lovely spot. Tftc
This is one cache I've been wanting to do for ages. Easy enough to find, but I just love the location. Thanks for bringing me here.
Out and about with Nurseyjulie, adding a few smileys to our maps. Still a little time left in the day, so we made our way to this one. I managed to pull up in the only spot of mud around. [:o] My car still needs a good wash, so I wasnt too worried. We strolled to GZ where the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Out with Selva Girls today clearing up some green spots on the map. She had been driving past this one so many times and fortunately today it was light enough and we had time to get this one. A pleasant little walk to the GZ too. Found in good order as described. TFTC Slow Puncture
Out for my daily cache and this one in the late arvo was better than in the middle of the day and also a few mozzies around however they didnt like the taste of the mozzie spray on me today With no one around to hide from this made it a great find where I could take my time. TFTC
We were driving by and decided to take a few minutes for a stroll through the black forest ... who would have thought such a nice bit of bushland was just here. We found the cache easily and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you Slow Puncture for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

We did 'bark up the wrong tree' but eventually realised the right place to be. TFTC
First cache of the day. We drove down to the national park, which we had driven past many times and never actually realised was a national park. Saw the sign at the entrance said to hold your kids hand, so we did. Tftc
Parking near the entry gate, encountered a bird watching muggle returning to his vehicle. Said gooday on my way in thinking I'd have the area to myself. What I didn't know is he followed me back in to see what I was doing. Had just found the cache when he appeared close by.
Ended up having a yarn about the local bird (feathered) varieties and caching. Maybe another convert!! TFTC Slow Puncture
