There are some really great places where this cache could be hidden, but they are probably way too dangerous to get approved. Nevertheless, I checked all of them. Just as I was about to give up, I almost accidentally found the cache. It was wedged in really good and hard to get out, but after a lot of pulling, I got it. TFTC.
This one had me going for a while but in the end I trusted my GPS.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
I managed to wrangle myself a few hours to myself and after being cooped up all week with school holidays, sick kid and all that life wanted to throw at me, I knew I needed to get out and find some caches. Despite the average weather I rugged up with a jacket, a thermos of hot coffee and had the car heater blasting. It meant I was as fast as I could possibly be while finding the caches so I could get back in the car asap!
This one alluded me. Once I figured out where I needed to be and stretched as far as I could, I still couldn't see anything. It could still be there and I just can't see that high! Will bring reinforcements next time.

I parked up right under the bridge but the hint is what bothered me - reach up - where???? If the cache was under the bridge near the supports then the co-ords would have been miles out, so I didn't look there. Couldn't see anything more obvious though... never mind. I shall keep this on the watch list.
Have attempted this one a year or so ago, but no luck. Back in the area and thought we would have another go. A quick find today and noticed this one had not been found for exactly a year! Yay! Tftc
This one had me stumped. Looked high, low, left & right, but no joy. Will have to return another day. As an aside, it sounds really cool under the bridge with the cars going over. Thanks anyway.
2nd time here but after reading previous logs and thinking on a different level I soon had the cache found this time, tftc
Put on hi-vis and went looking-see. Looked low, but not low enough. Funny how we make things harder than they are. A good little work-out tho'. Cheers CnD.
While Peel was at Tairua ("Bookclub" weekend), Steed biked out this way to clean up the progress caches out this way. He was a little confused at first about exactly where he should be, and the hint was sufficiently ambiguous, but he soon had an aha moment and then it was just brute force that was needed.
Out and about with Gap (of Fap and Gap). We planned on a big round up of caches around Te Rapa... so we started off early. It rained as soon as we arrived in Hamilton, and never let up. I got so wet, I had to ask Gap to visit a second hand shop to get a warm, dry coat... All part of the adventure we had today.
A big looping drive to pick up a few more WP (Waikato Progress) caches. Gap expertly manoeuvred in and out of locations to retrieve caches. He brought his high-viz. jacket, but didn't need to look that official with all the rain. TFTC. Nice magnets by the way!

Today was the the day to clear a lot green boxes from this area and turn them into smilie faces. With Mrs Fap visiting grandchildren got an early start with the Squirrel, with caches been found easily. But then the rain just started coming down and coming down and both of us getting wetter and wetter.
11.10am - Glad we done these on a wet day as not much traffic or muggles about. SLTFTC

This one was quite easy to find but difficult to look inconspicuous lol

I got lost on my way to here. Eventually worked out the correct route. Then I followed the hint instead of the GPS. doh. Then I realised that the hint hadn't been updated when the coordinates were changed.
Great series.

We are as confused by the new road layout as our GPS but we continued down the road that showed as a padock. Very musical at GZ with all the passing traffic TFTC.
This cache was much much easier to reach than last time I tried. Thanks very much Cats&Dragons

Took me a while to figure out how to access this one - once I worked it out I had the cache quickly in hand. TFTC
A quick stop as we headed into Hamilton. Can't keep up with all this road building and wonder when it will all finish. TFTC
Hmm a micro. Hang on, Ive seen some of these before from this CO. Yep, there it is. Thanks.
Stopped with the bike but couldn't find so stopped again with the car and this time found it quickly.

Again, with a bit of creative parking, we were able to slip down and grab this one. Traffic not solid but fairly consistent, progress is certainly being appreciated! TFTC

Need to bring reinforcements to assist with finding this cache. Will be back. Thanks anyway Cats&Dragons
Thought I'd get the last 2 of this series today. Almost a drive by.

Thought I'd better get these caches sooner than later as it'll only get busier. Parked on the expressway, and nipped down the get the cache. In hind sight the bike way would of been the better way to get these caches, but got to the end in one piece.
Quick find, Fencers working across the road gave funny looks as parking and walking off.
Well, I certainly walked the (very) long way around for this one! Another interesting spot, fascinating seeing the engineering progress up close!
Took a few moments for the penny to drop as to where I had to be, quick find once there.

Had a mate stay the night from Thailand who was on the road at 7am to Auckland.
I showed him the way out of town and while here grab expressway caches TFTC
No traffic about this time of the day and close to Xams

Not hard to find just out of reach! Came back today and it was fortunately closer to the edge and were able to grab it this time.
Drove to GZ easily and found good parking close. Had a good fix and given the terrain rating knew pretty much where it would be. I'm not short but I still had to do a little gymnastics to spot the cache. Everything is nice and clean here, unlike some similar locations I have found caches in. Lets hope it stays this way long term. I have logged this cache as part of 12-12-12: A Challenge? http://coord.info/GC42CNY TFTC

Having read previous logs, decided to bring a suitable 'tool' with me (ie a tall man) but was pleasantly surprised that I managed the find myself .... only just though! Definitely good to be prepared for this one; yup, NovaLightning's disco platform boots would be an asset here TFTC
Checked this one out on the way home tonight and it is still deffinitly there.
Good Luck and Good Hunting

This was to be number 12 of the night to give me 12 caches on the 12/12/12 [:(!] Knew exactly where this cache was but unable to reach it. (niether could panda22) Too late to try another one. [|)] so mission failed.
This one was a welcomed find in the rain. Managed to keep dry and I retrieved this one. Had a sense of dejavu as I approached GZ.
was able to spot he cache easily and with a little stretch grabbed it. Can't wait to read Kiwi69's log about grabbing this one hehe

Not very familiar with the new roads around the expressway so didn't come in the optimal route - not to worry. Tried a few potential hidey holes at GZ before getting the right one.
Many thanks
Many thanks
Almost a park and grab, quite well hidden but had to read the hint to figure out the location
I must have beaten Mr and Mrs alsjfs home - I met them at GZ a couple of hours ago. Mr alsjfs had FTF honours and I was a very close 2nd. Lovely to put more faces to username.
This was our first find for the afternoon while biking the Te Rapa section of the Waikato Expressway, and we are declaring it a joint FTF with kiwiteachernz.
