Logs
Dropped by, found the old camo and log in bad condition. Talk about Blasted Blackberries!.Came prepared and dropped in another one. Moved the hide slightly (say 0.5m) as may have been impacted by muggles given some new tracks nearby.
Out today with Mighty Minions for some caching around the area. This was the last one we targeted but, in spite of us both searching for about half an hour, we were unable to find anything. As mentioned in "recent" logs, the area is now heavily overgrown with ferns, and speaking of those logs, we also noted that the most recent one was nearly two years ago. Oh well.
Completely overgrown with fern and blackberry.
Took a while to get through - didn't spot it until I was leaving.
.
Great hide!

It took a PAF before we discovered a very sneaky hide. And a type of container like one of mine. TFTC
No thorny bushes here, but a real blast from the past. OCW Brewmaker. TFTC bella@waggy
Tried to find this one a few years ago. This time I was successful. Very interesting.
Thanks for the cache.

Great one..tough to find..was a cheeky guest under the object...marked the paper with an X instead of signing to save space.
Gotcha! Must say, I was not thrilled with the idea of crossing the "green sea" as another log put it. But the final cache container made it worth it.
Sadly it's a bit worse for wear, but log is still signable. TFTC!

Yay, gotcha, nice hide! Easier to find this time around.

Found after a battle of the mind through probably spider infested ferns. Tftc, found with the other butt pirates
I came to do the letterbox in the area, and though I would find the other two cache whilst I was here, A short bush bash was had to GZ and search began I looked high and low but nothing cold be found, a call to the CO who pointed me in the right direction and a laugh was had about the cache. Cache is all good.
With a few days of not much going on in Adelaide, I was deciding what to do for the next few days. For some reason Sydney seemed like a good choice and within 6hours I was off and away. With a last minute decision came a last minute plan of what I was going to go and find and as usual it changed but still got most of what I came for. A few DT fill-ins for my next loop, high favourites and JASMAR caches I was yet to find including the oldest in Aus: Lane Cove. Day 1: I arrived in Sydney late in the evening and had booked to stay at the rocks, I got off the train at an early stop and collected a few caches in the city along my path and a few lab caches. Day 2 I was up nice and early and went for nice run along the foreshore collecting some cache from the opera house to Walsh bay, I then headed over to manly and a nice walk around the area before picking up the free hirer car collecting a few caches on my way to lane cove. I later headed north to central coast to 2 Multis I was keen to tick off before arriving back in the city suburbs for the evening. I continued driving around the suburbs collecting LGAs and that continued on for day 3 before going to Bondi for some nice walks along the rock faces and the beach. As I had to drop the car back at lunch time I headed back into the city for the afternoon to collect the rest of the caches I had missed that were possible in the time I had left.
A total of 86 finds and 37 adventure labs for the trip.

Very cool cache. Found it after wading through the green sea. Log sheet was lying on the ground so we replaced it with the cache.
We couldn't find. Spent 45 mins searching on Navigation mode within 4m but overgrown ferns made it impossible to get in any further.
Kids and I very disappointed for the effort!

This was a punish. It was humid and hot. I got down to GZ ok through washouts from the recent rain but then my GPS was bouncing around all over the place. I found the Muggle cave but no cache.
A caching outing in and around Turramurra and Lane Cove NP. I was in the area to pick up some second hand sporting gear and while here I wanted to do some caching in these unspoiled parts, plus making sure I finally get Australias oldest cache!
I had an awesome time, mostly doing caches in the bush. I had all the bush completly to myself and even if some of the walks where not far from houses (and all right in civilisation) it still felt like a real nature outing.
This cache:
Well what can I say, with this cache it finally really felt like a bush walk emerced in nature.
The location is gorgeous and the hide very good and sensible. (Although I must say I don't understand the hint, it had me thrown off and looking in totally the wrong places till I looked at some past pictures and conviced myself where I had to actually search. )
On the way back out to the path I pushed away a leafy branch to the side and had a sudden rash/pain three days later it looks like it must have been a spider bite, thats what you get if you go around in short sleeve.
This was nevertheless the most fun cache and representing all that the city nature can give you as pretty bush walks. I will remeber this nice afternoon for a while and will give this cache in ints place a FAVpoint.
Thank you bella at waggy for all your hides around here.

Did a lot of driving today, not even for caching, but finally ended up doing caches in the afternoon on my return from Moony Moony towards the CITO event in Rookwood. Very warm suddenly and the humidity was terrible!

Dropped by as had heard the cache is not in position so put it back.
The log sheet is loose so please use care and common sense until I can get a replacement.

Out for a late afternoon cache run with phlphotos, alnic39 and JJCC. Made our way to approximately 40m from GZ and headed for the bush and found another track which we followed close to GZ before spotting a unique feature which warranted closer inspection. On taking a seat we viewed the hide location ...nice one. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache bella at waggy.

We had a small window of opportunity to cache today, and targeted this cache. Got to GZ and had a good look around. The cache hint was a bit of a red herring. After a while we stopped, re-assessed the situation, read some old logs, and narrowed our search area. We found the nicely themed container and logged our find. Seems like we followed in the footsteps of another cacher as there was another log for today. Thanks B@W.
Returned after a previous DNF. I confess the last time I was here, it was hot, humid and had just rained, and I'd bush-bashed all the way in from an earlier DNF; it wasn't a happy time. Today was lovely. I found this pretty quickly this time, although I did get a slight tip from the CO at a recent event. I should have got this the first time - just shows you have to be in the right frame of mind. Very clever. TFTC.
After a dnf at Twin Banksias, I attempted this one on my way to Rotten Apple, but sadly wandered around the undergrowth like a crazy person. Unlike at the Banksias, neither my GOS nor phone could agree on coords and I traversed a large area incorporating caves and bracken ferns, before pulling the pin. With humidity high I decided not to press my luck even further with Rotten Apple - will be back another day.
Went for a nice early morning bush walk and after a little bit of bushbashing, the cache was quickly found.
Never seen this type before, very clever.
Rested a bit and enjoyed the lost of different sounds and view.
Signed the log, onto the next one...

Tftc, needed a cache for an unfound day. I had left this cluster of caches for just such an occasion. With an afternoon shift at work, I left early for a quick walk and cache before hand.
Oh, aha! We had a DNF here and n August 2014 and only just returned today. With four more years of geocaching experience under our belts, we had a few more ideas about how to approach a location like this. Enjoyed the surrounding bush and the nearby cave. And the clever container which is missing its lid! A favourite from us. SL TFTC Cheers.... Gaztek
Took over 30 minutes, probably over thought it, but found it and laughed about it! TFTC
OCW the Bebes and even though she had got this previously and I was with her I had to sign with my own account!! Tftc
Yippie we have found it. Finally after two not founds. To day no one around and it’s a beautiful day to sit a listen to the birds. A great position for a cache. TFTC
Blasted blackberries indeed. I came out chasing apples and noticed this one nearby. I like the theme and award a favourite point. It was a quick find at the GZ for me. Thanks B@W for the placement Cheers
Sneaky little hide love it. Tried this once before with no luck. Have would to get this one for ages and finally back in area and we wanted to give another try. Searched for ages and ended up calling CO for a little nudge. Oh wow great cache. Loved it. Def worth a fav point from us
I thought it was a little odd to see the phone ring again for the second time and on answering then had a better idea what was happening with todays finders still being there. So as I was nearby I would be there shortly.
Well words can't quiet describe the sights, sounds and issues faced on first arriving apart from joining in. There were body parts in various positions, pushing, propping, various remarks and the like. The telescopic thing with the manoeuvrable head and even a roll of tape was used.
In the end the it was all sorted. Phew!
A new log has been added to the container and as ready to be found.

Well well well we are certainly never going to forget this one. Sneaky little one and very clever. Had a bit of trouble locating gz called the CO and he put us on those right track. Gotcha!!! Uhohhh no we don't. Called the owner again who came to meet us. Bodies in every possible which way oh to be watching would have thought what on earth is going on?! Finally we have it replaced. Fave point for sure. Now off to the next one with the CO. TFTC
A desperate crash through fallen leaves , a couple of young muggles around made for no success. Read that co had been here Today and sorted some other g.c.s. We were too late . Back another day.
The track in is very slippery due to the amount of dry leaves around. Spent too long reading logs and not just looking properly. Quick find when I eventually put my phone down. TFTC
I was visiting Sydney as turist and I really like this city! I hope to come back in the future again.
Today I did nice trip from city center to this area.
Another nice cache from Bella at waggy. I was searching here a lot, almost went with dnf, I was expecting something different and when I found the cache (with additional hint from previous finder) - it was really wow efect Beautiful nature around!

Thanks for the cache!

Well, we did come back again. The previous PAF produced a result later on and we were determined to turn the small blue sad face into a smalll yellow happy face. As it turned out, it was confirmed that we had been in the right place but just not looking at things in the right way. So we went looking again and this time discovered what we wanted quickly. Ouch! Don't really know how we managed to miss it before. Anyway, all is good now with the addition of our name to the log.
The trek to this cache and back also seemed easier the second time round.
Thanks bella at waggy for a nice little bush walk and this time for a smiley face.

Followed the track and then scrambled the last little bit to get to GZ. This cache was found eventually after a long of search. The log was signed and the cache was replaced as found. A favourite point given. Thank you bella at waggy for placing this cache is such a lovely area.
Sadly we did not find this one today. We found where we thought might be a good place to hide a cache but had no success. We tried to PAF bu there was no answer, so as it was getting late we decided to let it go and might try again another day. Thanks anyway bella at waggy.
Great find. Was just about to leave when we found it. Thought we were going to have to phone a friend! TFTC!
The passing shower added an extra half star to the terrain rating for me as I was not really dressed and did not have the shoes for what I needed to in order to grab the cache... Oops...
After checking out a couple of easy options, I was empty handed and knew where I probably needed to go. So, carefully and slowly I shuffled to the new location where I scanned a few places before spotting the neat container... Well, it's not going to help me, but I can at least add my name to the log...
Everything back in place, the return was more difficult than the approach, but I made it all the way while remaining upright... That was pleasing I can tell you... [^]

A nice sunny day provided the perfect opportunity for some geocaching with morty8888 at Turramurra, an area we well know as we lived here for about 25 years in a past life. This one was a return visit after a previous DNF two weeks earlier. This time we had a helpful hint and quickly had CIH. A lovely quite spot with the gentle sound of a bellbird calling in the distance. TFTC bella at waggy.
After a DNF a couple of weeks back, a helpful hint and the blasted blackberry was jail broken. TFTC.

Well, immediately after posting my DNF, and still sitting on a rock near the track, my phone rings. On the other end is the CO chuckling and chortling over my lack of success. He confirms I'm in the right area and I inform him I'll definitely be back for another go. After further discussions, I'm encouraged to give this another shot so back down I go. Within a couple of minutes..... BINGO!!! I just sat there and it was my turn to chuckle and chortle. I love an unexpected caching surprise and that's just what I got! Well done B@W. Adding my favourite point to the list. Cheers!

No luck for me this afternoon. I spent about half an hour rummaging around the bushland below a small cliff looking for blackberries. None found so I'm thinking that devious mind of B@W might have something else conjured up. I also get the feeling this one might be another "Eastern Come In Sucker". I'll be back!!

So where to cache this afternoon? Decided to go for a new cache in South Turramurra. And there is a previous DNF nearby that I really should revisit.
Went to the new one first. The park was full of small muggles and their parents. OK, lets go for the previous DNF and hope they've gone home when I return.
Plan worked a treat. And found both caches.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
So muggled out at my first target I drove on to here, where a soccer match was in progress. After retrieving a ball I made my way to the trail to GZ. Picked a different egress point this time - a much easier trail. And then I was at the ferny area. Seems a lot fernier than last time.
Hmmm, I can see what look like fresh tracks here. How recently has this been found? Checked the logs. Earlier today!
Circled a bit and spotted an area I don't even remember seeing last time. That's embarrassing. So decided to start there. Spotted a way that wasn't too hard and... nothing sighted. So relocated a bit and, hold on.
Gotcha! DNF expunged!
Very cute. Good to see blackberries have been on the decline since citrus plantings were stepped up!
Completed signing duties and replaced.
Made my way out via a different track going mostly parallel to the one on the map.

Not too much bush bashing required but I was a little disappointed to not to get a free feed from the blackberries!

Via the scouts hall I walked downhill toward the cache location. After some navigation through the bush I ended up at the right level where I found an unexpected cave. Using the flashlight on my phone I looked inside, weary of any crawlies that might be hiding there.
It was only when I took a different perspective that the cache became visible. What a surprise, and a great hide!
Thanks for the cache.

Well that wasn't what I was expecting to find!
Made it to GZ following the track from the back of the scout hall and then a sort of a track to near GZ. It wasn't the sort of terrain I had expected. I thought it would be more like something I'd been through on the Central Coast There I began to check various places including a very precarious location where it was so mossy you could easily have slipped over the edge. Then I started looking from a different perspective and soon spotted the cache.
SL and replaced as found and then made my way back to the top.

Archery Time - Spikey Bits attribute needed for Geosportz on GCA so I had to brave the thorns (and rain) today to grab this cache. Found the trail in and soon twigged as to what I was after getting to the right elevation. Took a while as the GPS was all over the shop but soon a systematic search turned up the goods and I was signing the log without losing too much skin. Cheers Bella!
I had trouble getting a lock on GZ despite checking the right spot. I was encouraged to search again more carefully. This time I found an unexpected container!?!

Parked at the end of Kale street and then continued past the Scouts and downhill towards the cache. Once at GZ the GPSr refused to provide a steady location, so we searched around in a few likely locations, until suddenly the cache 'just was there'.
After having signed the log we continued towards the nearby Letterbox cache.
After having signed the log we continued towards the nearby Letterbox cache.
Stopped off on the way back home after visiting the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale at Quarry Road Dural, to pick up this one. 9th, and last, find of the day.
Well this was my final cache of the day, and definitely the toughest. Followed a track down toward GZ, and then left the track and lightly bush bashed to the cache location. Had a quick look at one level, then had a look at another level where I spotted what I thought was the hide. I managed to see what looked like a suspicious pile of natural camo, but found it was just too dangerous to access the spot to check it out.
I had foolishly convinced myself that it was the correct spot (T3 and a hint that suggests it could be difficult to retrieve & sign the log) so I returned to the geomobile to get a rope. So now safely "tethered" I reached the "camo" pile, only to find that it was cacheless. Possibly it's a cunning decoy
Disappointed, but determined to make a find, I returned to a previous place I had been searching and carried out a much more intensive search. And my determination eventually paid off when I spotted something interesting, and it was CIH. Not quite the blasted variety I was thinking of, but now it all makes sense. Signed the log sheet, and then replaced as found. Thanks B@W for the challenging cache.

Way too hard for me today.
Got to the location but could not get an accurate reading. Did find the muggles cave though.
Bush bashed here there and everywhere, back and forth through ferns and spiders but could not make the find. There just isn't a clear enough trail in that I can find.
Going home for a shower! Will try again after someone else finds.
Thanks for the cache!

Blasted Blackberries. Blasted horse flies! Found with Caliazuljewel today on a brief visit back in Sydney for Christmas with the family. The cache is there intact and is a very clever sneaky hide. More detailed log to follow.
Nice to be back in the Sydney area. Such gorgeous bush trails and noisy birds! The Kookas were in fine form today, as was my caching buddy, AMobious. After a while searching, we re-read the description and searched some more, and then AM made the find. It all made sense. Clever. Thanks for a fun cache, B@W!
I looked around for ages but had no luck at all. My signal was bouncing around everywhere Did find a baby animal of some sort tucked away in a log which was really cool.(I couldn't tell exactly what it was. I think it was an owl but didn't want to disturb it.) Thanks for taking me to a lovely area.

Came here after finding Turra TB Hotel. Nice bit of bush and thankfully the heavy rain from earlier in the afternoon had passed. Found the blackberries but all out of juice. I'm glad that I didn't look at the string of recent DNFs in the logs otherwise I might have been put off. It's amazing how sometimes your 6th sense just guides you in the right direction. Thanks for the tip to look for the nearby muggle cave and TFTC.

Headed to South Turramurra this afternoon to try to clean out a few caches I DNFed (and one unattempted). Of the three I was left with just the one DNF at the end of the day.
Then I got out of there before the storms hit.

After no real issues at Twin Banksias I returned here with a much sturdier ankle and my hiking pole.
Well that made getting to GZ much easier.
Started my search and close to where the iPhone was pointing I came upon an area with what looked like a geotrail leading to it. Hadn't even spotted this last time.
Searched this area but still came up short. Checked hint - well this area fits. Still nothing on another go around.
Checked photos - this area definitely fits...
Nope. Not today. Hmmm.
Will need a rethink or a PAF.
BLAST!
Then I got out of there before the storms hit.

After no real issues at Twin Banksias I returned here with a much sturdier ankle and my hiking pole.

No blackberries were found here today, though my legs were scratched up a bit from stocks buried below the fern line.
Blasted Blackberries alright!!!!
Parked just outside the gate to the field parking with 2x council trucks parked inside the area and walked towards the TB hotel but they seemed too close for me, so detoured to here.
Spied a bearded dragon lazily slumped between banksia cones on a branch half way up. I didn't spot him until after locking in on a GZ and viewing the worn trails that catchers leave behind.
Understood the cache name after finding the hide as I did expect a weed outbreak here. Great hide and a fav, thanks B@W

Followed the track to a turnoff which seemed like the best route to GZ. Waded through the ferns and arrived at the coords. Found fairly quickly - not what I expected! Nice cache!

decided to do a few more caches in this reserve, so parked at Warragal, while wishing I was near warragul. Took a few wrong turns and got to gz eventually. Really loved the walk in and in beautiful spots like this my mind turns to favourites. Thinking of the last time I was here, I quickly discounted that idea and the useless clue was still in place.
I had spoken to the co since the last time I was here and he confirmed my gz was correct, but since last visit I had done a cache called belly of a whale or similar. So I looked at things from another viewpoint and a glimpse was soon court. Grabbed it, yep for all the misleadingness about this cache it will still get a favourite.
There was even some new growth on the vandalised tree, that has made me so angry. But in the end a find makes it all so much more enjoyable.

After spending an hour not finding twins banksia it was refreshing to find this in the first place i looked. I laughed when i saw the camo. Thanks!!!
What kind of a person sees the word 'blackberries' in the title of a cache and goes for it anyway? I'm that kind of person, apparently. At GZ I looked in a few spaces. There was one particular space that looked very promising, and it was indeed the right space. I just needed to look at the right angle. A great hide. I had a chuckle as I opened the cache.
Tks again bella at waggy!
