Nice little afternoon trip to the island found with sirswazy who sent picture to everyone and its not the location
Last day of Winter 2019, a hint of Spring with sunshine and gentle breezes - good time to paddle over to Red Island.
Made my way up the SE side of the Island searching all the way, sat down for a break and time to soak up the view of the most beautiful Whangaroa Harbour and there it was right beside me.
The log was full so left more paper - Good dry container. Thank you for the Cashe.
I was very surprised at the number of recorded Accidental Finds of this cashe in the log.
Cheers, Licklick.

Tough climb to reach this one. After about 5 minuets of hunting I eventually spotted the hide. Nice spot to get a smilie. Had been staying at Lane Cove for the weekend so called by on the way home. TFTC
Was too hard to climb for the gi part of giella so ella age 8 had to climb up by herself and bring the honey pot down. Left a dolphin and replaced pot in hiding place
10.05am. Got there ok, but didn't have the right vessel to get real close to the island in the right place.
Will have to come back later.
Cheers M+S [:O)]

used to row here may times when younger and before the marina was there came up the hard side and the cache was easily found when you turn around before you descend the hill TFTC added swag.
Sunday cache to maintain my August Streak. 45 km/h wind, rain, good swell and running tide. Perfect for finding an island cache! Paddled out from the Whangaroa side. Sheltered on the calmer (NE) side of the island before venturing round and landing on the little beach. High tide, so I rock hopped round to the start of the climb. Found cache with no trouble and admired the view before climbing down and launching to keep paddling and stay warm. The Totara North side was nice and sheltered so enjoyed a good paddle before heading back across to the game fishing club and hugging the coast back to the Mussel beds boat ramp. A good 1 hour workout in very marginal conditions. All adding to the sense of achievement! Thanks for the Cache!
Interesting location and history.
Found after a brief hunt. Was not where I expected it! TFTC

Found by Cookie-Youngster Nick on his last day in this area. He has been living in view of the island for some 6 months and did not want to leave with out a trip to the island. Went in a kayak this morning to find the cache quickly and enjoy a look round the island before returning home. And on to Whangarei...

Wow, cute wee Island. had to explore here this morning as my Geo Jetski got to "cosy " parked at the Marlin Hotel for some late afo drinks . Beauti view of Red Island from our deck. Some angry birds close by as I made my way to cache. Must have a nest . Another great explore and FTF in such a beautiful Harbour. Come one , come all a must do.
