Didn't realise that I could have driven through from another cache and drove round the long way. Parked and walked up to the cache - nice quick find and I was off against n TFTC
Out riding my bike around Hamilton, and picking up some caches along the way. Nice hide, cheers
My third Waikato Progress cache this evening. This one proved to be a bit of a mission. Quick grab between cars not possible. It was wedged into it's spot so tight I could get a hand on it but couldn't pull it free. Ended up using a bit of wood from the garden to push it down about an inch - then was able to wrestle it free. Left some skin behind along with the bit of wood. TFTC!
Yay! Found quite quickly. Hard to get out and cache now hiding place of a little ant colony
Keep driving past but managed a stop today on the way to cricket. Hope to get some more before too long. Tftc
Nice quick park and grab. Hardly anybody around this evening but lots of bangers going off. Very strong magnets. had to use tools to extract. Cache now a spider's nest.
Parked down by the church and then walked up to the cache site. I think I broke my thumb nail it was so well attached!
2nd one of this series we found this evening out in the open. Glad to tick this one off the list.
As part of our current GIO-Licence stage, UncleSam, Dragon_Griffin and I were required to find 50 caches in a day, with each needing to be more than 1km apart. This required a complicated plan including an Excel spreadsheet, many hours spent searching geocaching.com, and measuring distance on Google maps in order to find quick, park & grab caches that hadn't already been found by any of the 3 of us (and weren't likely to result in DNFs as they had been found recently). We also had to lock in a day that fit around 3 people's busy schedules. But eventually, all obstacles were overcome, planning was complete, and the day arrived. That day was today. So caching bags were packed, coffee was consumed (yup, that was me ) and we all met at my place for an early start.
Parked at the church and raced up to GZ.... raced, because we still had a few caches to find, and were running out of time. Followed coords and found ourselves right on top of it, which made for a quick find. The logs about the ants were correct though, and UncleSam, who was the retriever and returner, had to dust himself down as we returned to the car!
Thanks Cats&Dragons.... cache #33 of 50! Off to the next on the list!!!

The online cache says it was found recently, but log said last august.
Found all the ants.

Was completing part of my Geo License with NewLynFam & Dragon_Griffin where we had to find 50 caches in one day, but they must be 1km apart from each/all caches done that day. The problem when doing this with 3 people, and 2 of them have done a few around the country it made it a little harder.
We enjoyed our day traveling around. Please forgive me for the generic logs, but was a long day.
Thanks for supporting my addiction.

As part of my current geolicence challenge I needed to grab 50 caches in 1 day more than 1km apart. I hatched a plan with NewlynFam and Uncle Sam for a road trip to complete this challenge and with the cache route in hand we set off on our mission.
This was number 33 for the day out of 50 with no DNFs! We parked in the side road and walked up to GZ. The GPS immediately took us straight to GZ and it was an easy find... lots of ants! I think the passing traffic was going past too fast to care what we were up to, TFTC!

Another bit of dodgy parking for the find. Log signed b&p. Find number 4179.
Thanks for the cache Cats&Dragons.

Went for a nice morning stroll from the holiday park and found this cache. Has an ant nest in it!
Found this on a bit of a geo jaunt this evening... but prior to me finding it... seems that an entire nest of ants had also found the cache and decided to call it home lol tried to evict as many as I could... tftc
Kind of knew what I was looking for so was confused when I couldn't find it, then realised I had walked straight past it! Difficult to search & log here due to the sheer amount of muggles passing by. Still, got there in the end by "taking photos", "texting" & "talking on my phone"! SL. TFTC. Amazing to have seen all the progress in this area. Definitely changed for the better in the last few years!
I didn't find it, but I want to might go back with a couple of friends or friend
A short walk from where my cousin lives. Found with my junior accomplice after a slight miscalculation of the approach direction. Once back on track, was straight forward. TFTC
Last find for the day before we had to return our junior cacher to family to continue on her holiday. TFTC
Thought we should make an effort to pick up most of these in the series. This was a nice quick find with easy parking access. Thanks
Thanks cays and dragons for your hides we are in Hamilton today getting some caches for our geo license stage 3 we needed this cache for the D/T ratings.

Fairly easy find on a clear but cold and windy day, with the company and assistance of my Mum. Logged in loving memory of LRPnz, who passed away ten years ago today. She is missed so very much.
Lovely walk to get this one.
The first of a few we are hoping to get out an about today with Gonna Cache Em All.
Tftc
Log book is full.

Log book is full. Sorry didn't have paper to add to it this time but we managed to find a small space for us.
Out and about with SethRaven, sent the kids up for this one. The first one in this series that we have done. TFTC
MILESTONE - cache find #800 for me at this one, TFTC Cats&Dragons quick find by the kiddies here tonight = down here with Fencarrows for the Night Train run at the miniature trains at Minogue Park.
Heading to Hamilton for an event tonight. We were a bit apprehensive, when we woke in Rotorua with heavy rain on the roof. We told ourselves that it will not be raining in Hamilton, so headed out into the gloom.
I once travelled through this area on a regular basis and don't remember this bypass. Walked through the tunnel and up and over. Watched Hoons doing donuts in the car park below, while we signed the cache.
Thanks C&Ds and thanks for the event tonight.

The most difficult things about this cache was to not seem suspicious so I pretended having a phone converation to be able to log.

Got this on in the afternoon timed finding this cash with car and people traffic
Found a good carpark and then couldn't figure out how to get up to GZ. Figured it out and made a quick find. TFTC
Another find while we were in Hamilton for the hot air balloons today. Parked the car in a quiet spot, and walked further than expected to find this, but we were able to quickly retrieve, sign log & replace when there were breaks in the traffic. The camera is always a good cover.
Mrs nzkites worked / lived in Hamilton years ago and is amazed at all the roading changes that have taken place since then! TFTC

Spent a lovely day geocaching on our way to the Pi International Day in Hamilton. We walked in, then out, then around and back, then up and then we were in the right place and it was an easy find, cache in good condition. TFTC
Good to get another one in this series. Great new road. Be good when it's all finally completed. Tftc
Another one of the series found. Very interesting to see all the progress made in the area. SL TFTC
I've been past several of this series on several occasions; today I managed to arrive at a sufficiently quiet time to actually fins them. Thanks for the cache.
Out for a walk with Gaines'em and Grandson Daniel-son. Looking forward to coming back and doing more along here with the bike soon.
Day 8 complete with Becsicasa! TFTC

Down in the Waikato for the weekend catching up on some unfound caches. Another one in the series turned into a smilie but still a few more to go for us. This biggest problem trying to lcate them all is the out of date maps we are trying t follow to find them all. No doubt it will take a while until all are updated with all of the local progress TFTC.
11684... Another spot that doesn't resemble the Google Satellite views, that's Waikato Progress for you, TFTC.
