We were supposed to do a whale watching trip today, but it got cancelled as the whales were outside the area. Instead we set off to find a few caches. A quick park and grab on our way north to Kaikoura. TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! 5218me cache trouve.Merci bumandworker pour la cache 5218th cache found.Thank you bumandworker for the cache
Today I'm back on the road, driving from Dunsandel to Blenheim to pick up some recently acquired musical gear. Finding a few caches along the way. This was the first one I stopped for. It's been a while since I found a B&W cache. No problems here. TFTC, Biggles.
#12,461. After a fun week in Christchurch doing a lot of caching it was time today to drive north to Picton to catch the 6pm ferry. I decided to stop first at Cheviot for some lunch then do a few along the road from there to Kaikoura. Parked nearby and soon located the cache. Thanks b&w for the cache. Don't think I have heard of Spotswood before.

A quick park & grab for this one.
Heading back to Boomtown today from Christchurch & RNZ has targeted a few caches to grab on our trip back. Most on our side of the road home

A quick find here. In my haste did not notice the racecourse, or if indeed it’s still active. Will check out next time through. TFTC B&W.
Driving today from Christchurch to Blenheim, and picking off a few caches on the way, as we tend to do. Mostly, but not exclusively, those on ‘our’ side of the road today. All pretty good, thanks all COs.

Out exploring the back roads for caches. Nice drive to the cache. Thanks for this cache bumandworker.
Out and about after lunch and heading south this time. A quick stop here for the find and sign. Laminated TB left to continue travelling. tftc
Driving to Nelson via a friend's winery at Renwick; I was a little challenged for time so decided to have only a couple of stops on the way north.
I've been meaning to drive down this road for a while - and was pleased to be able to today.
Thanks for this cache, b&w.

Having so far had 2 unsuccessful hunts today, it's nice to be able to put my name in a log book! TFTC
Seemed obvious from the hint but was so well hidden I nearly gave up. One last look and success
After a bit of a break from caching I am catching up on my logging that stalled when the first lockdown happened. We found this as we were rushing back to Wellington before the country went into lockdown. TFTC bumandworker.
Family holiday time...loaded up with bicycles to find some fun tracks. A couple nights Kaikoura, a couple in Blenheim & then finally a couple nights in Richmond.
Heading up to Kaikoura this morning - hot as today; ducked up this side road to find a cache or two. Nice quick find, thanks.

Nice quick find. Never knew there was a racecourse here. Thanks for the hide. #3513
Just love the different object up the power-pole just after the turn off. Jude_E took photos! Brought a smile to the dial for sure. Nice easy find, TFTC
Yay, a b&w cache, always accurate co-ordinates - usually really findable and a good excuse to get out of the car and stretch the legs. At this point no 19 was driving - jeut allors! Survived and all was good. Cacche found and replaced same. T F T C
A real quick roadtrip weekend 'down the line' to Chch and surrounds for us this weekend. mrs capperz is on her own 2 week roadie, so it's just nightowl19 and I for the long haul, 800kms, puzzles and trads, a couple of badge upgrades on Statto project-gc, and a few take-away establishments visited to maintain the caching machine. A good weekend which as usual is over too soon, but still a good couple of days away. I had a meal to go to on Friday night so was not on the road until the relatively late time of 0800 on Saturday morning, and back home again just 36 short hours later on Sunday evening. Treble figure haul over those 2 days and plenty of back road sights and experiences of parts of Canterbury not travelled before. Managed a couple of earth caches, a load of apples (enough for cider!), some childrens names and even mustered some errant horses (on the loose from Kaimanawa?}

One of my fav ways of spending a weekend day - jump into the car with a direction in mind, stopping for caches along the way, enjoying the journey. This time I piled a couple of 'kids' into the car also, and we headed to Kaikoura making the most of the road being open for the weekend and not that much traffic thanks to the Picton detour still in place. Needless to say that we never made it as far as Kaikoura, although we leaft early enough and got quite close. Try explaining that on a monday at work - where did you go over the weekend? Well, Kaikoura, but we did not quite make it there. Oh, is the road still so bad? LOL!
Quick find in a beautiful deserted spot, TFTC!!

Kaikoura
What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

On spotting the race course I wondered when the last race meeting was held here, and when the next is scheduled? Like Kiwi Moose I had to dig a bit to get my hands on this cache. Aside from that, the cache is in good condition.
Easy find, even given that recent road works had covered it with soil and gravel. Spotswood races last held here in the early '90s. They now race at Rangiora. Thanks for a reason to stop at a lovely spot.
A bit of digging required again as that is a keen digger. No idea there was a race course out here, not the normal oval type either. Cheers
There was only one place that matched the hint - only problem was that a grader had been along the road and pushed a significant amount of soil ontop of the cache and post. GK went to the van and found a tool to do some excavating, he dug, he found what we were looking for. This is one of those caches for us that allows us to discover the unexpected and this is in between two unexpecteds so a fav from us. tftc
A quick park and grab- which was good because the temperature was starting to get up where I don't like it!! tftc
Hi quite like these park and grab. Warfi had this even before I had the car stopped.
Thank you B&W for being the first cache on our return from the north island after so many rainy and unproductive caching days found with team_macdonald TFTC
Found on our way home after a rainy wet holiday in the north island which resulted in minimal caches found. tftc found with rayzr2
With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.
As we drove closer to GZ the train was just coming by. I got a nice close up of all the creative graffiti all over the train carriages. Wow! Then as we got out of our truck, the train stopped. Funny. The last carriage was maybe 10 meters away. Easily found.
Chelzea and I on a day trip from ChCh to Kaikoura, North up SH 1 and then return via the inland road through Waiau. A good number of caches both on the way up and back but not as many in Kaikoura itself as we would have liked but a good trip never the less. Found many cool places and caches and thanks to all the CO's for their placements.
Found while heading back to Picton on a beautiful warm sunny morning, collecting a few caches I didn't get when I came down a few days ago. *TFTC bumandworker, #8608*

[green] At last I am on my way to the mega. Two weeks of insane caching in Christchurch. Looking at 7 Badgegen upgrades, a 200+ cache day and, of course, the Mega. But first I have to get there. It took me 9 hours to drive to Christchurch, pretty much what I expected, found 55 caches along the way.
Why no cache for those really cute railway stations?? Dropped in an emerald here.

I had parked my Mobile Travel Bug at Parnassus last night so it was off to do some of the "off the main track" caches today.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Found on the drive north from Christchurch to Golden Bay. On the road before sunrise and I was timing the journey to be in Nelson by 4pm to meet dad at the airport. The weather was not too bad most of the way, but starting getting a bit dodgy through The Whangamoas. Quick find at this cache. TFTC (2420)
Driving a car back to Palmerston North for a friend. Quick stop, for a easy find. I did not know the race course was here .Thanks for the cache.
Enjoyed seeing the reason behind the cache name as I pulled up because mostly I haven't read the description until I'm logging. TFTC #6573
Nice quick P&G. We were in a race of our own to see how many more we could do before we could find a toilet stop.

Racing the rails today on the way to kaikoura, nice wee diversion to find a cache, always good for a quick stop. Cheers.
Came here on a slow day's geoaching trip between Kaikoura and Christchurch. Found the cache quickly - signed log, TFTC
Nearing the end of a days caching. This was another easy find, but the drive has been enjoyable,.
Another quick find. Fellow cachers who try this one in the dark should avoid the space between the pole and the railway line;--some disgusting by products. Thanks.
We had stopped for lunch rather than caches in Cheviot so had time for a few more. on the way home. Two showed on the side road so we did the detour. Interesting wee country spot. One train even went past while we were there which is a novelty for Nelsonians.
Thanks for the reason to sidestep from the main road home.

#5423. Must have been too focussed on locating the cache, as I don't remember spotting the race course. Our first B + W cache on the way north; good to be back in "bumandworker country" (there should be a sign beside SH1). TFTC.
Out with Kiwicampnut to assess a camp in Kaikoura - so made the most of the day and cached there and back
A quick find and although the cache had been wet at some point the log book was dry.
Thanks - today's bumandworker streak continues

Deviated to do these two caches having done T Post first, located this one and then headed on our way towards our destination of Kaikoura. Thank goodness we didn't need to do any racing on the rail would have made life interesting.
Interesting to find all the race courses in NZ, is there still one without a cache? Sure you would not expect one here. TFTC
TFTC. Lovely to find a few new caches just off the main drag. A short deviation and they were both in hand.
Thanks bumandworker for placing the cache.
