I am with Muggle on a three and half week trip to NZ. Nothing serious, just the well trodden track every NZ tourist does who is coming from the other side of the world and has not the chance to come here more often. Three days Auckland are on my list. Next stop ist Coromandel. In the morning muggle is so kind to check whether the pillow is as quiet with the other ear as with the 1st one. I am alotted two hours of caching. This morning I was heading out for some caches near to our cottage in town. After the trig point I was checking the camp site. Kids were still in bed and not able to jar the quiet of the morning. Campers were already sitting in front of the tents with the 1st coffee. I found my way and stumbled for the box near the tree. I was quite surprised at the size of the box and disappointed at my search talents for taking so long to find it. But the place is a real beauty. I will return with Muggle tomorrow to walk all the way to Tucks Bay and just another bay.Thx for hiding.
Enjoyed hike to area. Found at 1438 after short search. Everything in good shape.TNLNSL TFTC
Assume it is/was down here - not convinced it is safe to go here now since the storms.
Nice wander, even though it is an overcast day. Sent Return2nai down for the find as terrain 2 is prob a bit generous from the top! Tftc! Off to the next one!
With the tide coming in and only a hour till dusk. We made our way around to this lovely beach.
We had about an hour til dusk so we parked up in the caravan park and set off at a brisk pace as we wanted to get the next cache around in the bay with no name too. This was a bit of scrabble down the bank but the cache was easily located
Day #4 of my Coromandel holiday...finally ticking off the only part of NZ that I have never been to
Today we are exploring up from Wyuna Bay where we are staying. First stop is to walk around the track at Long Bay to see the Kauri trees. Carried on down to the beach and back around the coastline...nice quick find here once I made my way down and over to GZ...should have gone a little bit further along the track so needless to say it was a much quicker ascent!!! TFTC

1.00pm. The terrain should be higher considering the final approach. Made it down and back and soon found it. A nice walk. Favourite point from us.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Yay! Perfect addition to our kauri walk with 3 kids, so could send them scrambling down the bank to find the cache. Tftc!
Its off for a walk to Tucks Bay via the track. Got this one snagged and tagged. Cheers.
Day 4 - Monday 21 December -Paritu Bay to Port Charles, Stony Bay, Colville, Coromandel and back to Paritu Bay. So lets get rolling.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

We went along the track and then dropped down. I suspect that is easier than going along the beach.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs, 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk and lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Lovely afternoon for a walk tides in so might have to wait until tomorrow to find one at Bay with no name
Looks as if the track has been modified..so a small off track excursion was required awesome co ords made this nice and easy many thanks Cosclan for the tidy hide
We were busy talking and enjoying the views and walked past this. Back tracked and wondered how to get down there. Straight down as it turns out. Cache coordinates very true. A lovely walk with reminiscing of running around here a few years ago in an event. Thanks for the cache cosclan
The question is very often. Large one, left from, down from and so on. Quiet lovely bay. TFTC
Another lovely bay in a previously unknown (to us) spot.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Whilst staying at the Top Ten Shelly Beach we decided to go rock hopping to this area at lowish tide, grabbing a few as we go.

Well this was a very unarranged few days.
Got a text from Squirrel Nutcase who was up the firth of Thames camping, did I want to meet the next day in Thames for a few caches. Okay, grabbed some gear and met up midday along with a couple of members of his household and the dag. Crammed into the RAV4 and off we went.
Mrs Fap happened to be in Auckland so told her my sort of plans but didn't know when I would be home.
Long walks were out of the question so it was more of a sight seeing trip. Anyway a good couple of days.
Picked up a couple of caches that were missing when in the area last time.
Thanks to cache owners for the placements and will be back another day.

Auckland Anniversary Weekend, 2020: A driving-camping weekend tour of Coromandel with the usual suspects... This was probably the best holiday weekend we've had in a long time... The Thames coast was jam packed with holiday makers. We were forced to go further north than expected, and we were lucky to find a really good campground in Long Bay...
Settling back at Long Beach camp, we were pleased to note that this hide was just a short walk away. We set off in the early evening, when the path was quiet and it wasn't so hot. This one was a former DNF for us, so it was a matter of rechecking the most obvious spots. A pile of natural camouflage alerted us to something cache-like. Thanks cosclan and TFTC.

Staying at Tucks bay camping for two nights. What a lovely spot. Unfortunately too late in the year to see the Pohutukawas flowering. Straightforward find. Thanks for placing the cache
While searching the area for unfound caches, I discovered that this is one I'd found 4 years earlier with Philip Perry. Luckily I found his log, so log back dated as appropriate.
Day two and TEAM BOP has disbanded leaving TNXPro and myself to our own devices. I really wanted to sort Coromandels West coast so we left Tairua and took the Tapu-Coroglen Road in search of the ever elusive - geocaches.
Our second attempt on this one but the first since it was last maintained. We were able to drive around here saving our legs a bit and the cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords, a good hint and a straight forward placement. Cheers cosclan, TFTC

From Holland, we are on holiday in New Zealand. The first two weeks we visited the south Island. Now we are almost at the end of our two weeks on the north Island. And geocaching is a good thing to let you discover places, you would never come. Such as this one. We have a beautiful view. Thank you very much for this cache. Greetz from Holland.
Found on a Labour day mission with the seagull and the gibbon. Cracker day for it, Cheers
Found it during Coromandel adventure trip with Aiden29. Perfect day for it. First day of Spring and Father`s Day too! Enjoyed walk to cache location. Good to know another handy campsite in the area. Container in great shape. Thanks for bringing us here.
Tramyard already had plans to complete the 309 Pony Express power trail today, but he asked me if I wanted to join him while we were at an event last night. I jumped at the chance to go on a road trip to the Coromandel - my first time this far up the Peninsula. The weather was perfect, just a little cold and quite foggy along State Highway 2 early in the morning, but once the sun rose we quickly stripped down to our t-shirts (contrary to the last month of weather in Auckland!).
Since we completed the trail just after lunchtime, we headed into Coromandel to continue caching. Still plenty of muggles camping here at this time of the year, but the trail was quiet. A short scramble down the bank and then a quick find.

Lovely little walk
Made a bit thoughtful and sad by the thought of the dieback affecting these beautiful trees

Nice walk around the point from the campground. It had even warmed up enough to go into tshirt mode. TFTC!!!

Lovely walk. Found cache and took a TB. Approached from beach side...exit track side. TFTC

Was brought here to Tucks Bay for an impromptu camping trip and immediately fell in love with the place. Such a beautiful wee bay and amazing to have a camping site right in front of the water. Enjoyed swimming in the lovely warm water too! Went for a stroll early in the morning to grab this cache and basked in the gloriousness that was this large beautiful pohutakawa after finding. Thank you for bringing me here and thank you for the cache
Nice little cache on a beautiful spot. Just enjoyed having a little break there before going on with my walk. TFTC
We've stayed in this camping park, so this found was mandatory. Nice little walk to open our appetite before a BBQ. Thanks.
Find number 4105. I left Hamilton at 5 am enjoyed the sunrise as I crossed the hills from Wilsons Bay. I have been to Tucks Bay before when we stayed at the Long Bay Camp Ground. But that was before the year 2000 and geocaching had not commenced. A pleasant walk around to GZ on a lovely day. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement.
Driving up this way and stopped for this cache. Time allowed me to enjoy the walk around the headland and find this cache. Thanks cosclan
Walked past here yesterday but did not stop to look as we had no writing instrument but there was one anyway.

Joined in on the fun with 11HPG11 and Cats&Dragons on a overnighter at Port Jackson. Kiwis69 also joined the crew on the Saturday to find a few caches. The whole weekend was a blast, and a lot of fun was had. The logs were all signed as "HOAC" to save space on the logbook.
Over the two days we ended up have a whirlwind tour of the upper half of the Coromandel, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. A big thanks to all the CO's for being our tour guide/s over the weekend. A truly unforgettable trip.

Didn’t want to miss out on the fun so joined my caching buddies for the first part of their latest adventure today: their final destination is Port Jackson for a camping weekend, whereas I need to get to Whanga so I’m taking a slightly indirect route via Colville! Our group consisted of HKCB, Cats&Dragons, 11hpg11 and myself with logs signed as HOAC to save room. Had an amazing day exploring this coast and also became very aware of the impact of Mother Nature’s recent storms & king tides - kudos to all the locals for their clear-up efforts.
Suitably caffeinated at the local bake house, we headed out for a walk along the coast here. Likely there was a quicker route but we went for the scenic option, watched by the campers. Scrambled down to GZ behind HKCB but needn’t have bothered - he was quickly onto the hide. A quick find and amazing views along here as well, thanks for bringing us here, TFTC

A few of us were heading to Port Jackson for a spot of 'summer' camping. So an early morning start meant we could collect some caches on the way up. Our group consisted of Kiwis69, HKCB, Cats&Dragons and myself. Logs were signed as HOAC to save room.
All up we had a whirlwind tour of the Coromandel and saw some amazing sights. Plus a few boxes here and there of course. It was interesting to see how the storm and king tides had changed certain spots and we were treated to some spectacular thunder storms rolling in from Great Barrier. The camping was an experience, wet, full of laughs, and a great time. Thanks to the cache owners for showing us round the Coromandel and giving us a reason to get out and about.
A nice walk along here, a few campers up and about and probably wondered where we were off to. A great view from the campspot, will have to remember this campsite for the family

We are camping at Long Bay for a couple of nights and took an evening stroll on the Long Bay Reserve via Tucks Bay. A beautiful walk and some magnificent Kauris up in the bush. No sign of the cache at the two most likely targets at the coordinates. Work has clearly been carried out recently on this track, so maybe the cache suffered as a result.
Team BOP descended upon the Coromandel to search out as many caches as possible in the two days allocated.
This was our second cache of the second day of our weekend trip. It was a good walk around the track but with so many eyes looking, we still couldnt find it.
Thanks for bringing us here anyway. Its a nice beach too.

Team BOP have reunited for a two day journey up to the top of the Coromandel. This was our second DNF and it wasn't even 8am yet! With so many eyes looking for such a straight forward hide (as per hint) it was quite disappointing walking away from this one. Cheers cosclan, will return one day.
What a splendid walk! I thought I had seen a lot of Coromandel but you have revealed another jewel in the crown.
Visiting friends at Long Bay camping ground and decided it was a great opportunity to find a cache while waiting for then to return from fishing.
Quick find. Thanks for hiding the cache in such a lovely spot.

This year me and RobLigtenberg were lucky enough to spend almost 2 months in New-Zealand on a great holiday. We explored both islands and just like everyone else we loved it. Apart from all the major attractions (roturua, tongariro, abel tasman, the glaciers, the fjords and so much more) we also tried to do some caches in order to discover even more of the country. After having explored bay of islands (rainy…) we went to Coromandal and stayed on the camping close to Tuck’s Bay. At night our campervan was almost blown away by the strongs winds, but the place was beautiful! From the camping a nice walk took us to Tuck’s bay and the cache, easy find .

During our nearly two month holiday in New Zealand we spend time on both the northern and southern island. Both islands happened to be very beautiful, each in its own way. Together with Ninagustein we searched for many caches, as we think it is a great way of discovering the country. Numerous caches get you to places you otherwise wouldn't have visited and it is also fun to find caches at touristic places. On this day we travelled from the Whangarei region to the Coromandel peninsula. We ended up in Long Bay motor camp. From here we made a walk through the forest and searched for this cache on the way back along the beautiful coast line. Found it!

We were out for the day, over from Auckland, exploring the area for a bit. The area near the waterfall was closed due to Kauri dieback, so we were brought over here for a walk and a look at the local fauna. We were on our way back on the hiking trail and the others stopped to talk to learn about flax, I took the opportunity to nip over and grab the cache unnoticed. Thanks for the cache and what a lovely area to hide it. #670
Great hike for a Saturday morning. The kids loved the Lucy they traded for a blue whale. Finished up with some cockle digging.
Up in the Coromandel on a quick road trip with Pinocchio59. Once we realised we could go into the camp grounds we had a really lovely walk. It took a bit of searching but we got there in the end and it definitely deserves a favourite, what a lovely place. TFTC
Up on a quick overnight trip here with imcuzz and bagging a few caches along the way. It sure is a lovely walk here from Long Bay around to Tucks Bay - thanks for placing the cache as we would never have thought of doing the walk otherwise. TFTC )
We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Picked up a travel bug. Thanks for placing the cache.
We found this after walking the long bay reserve track. We hadn't been here for about twenty years, it still looks the same.
