GSEL and MTG101 did their best mountain Goat impressions, I merely drove round the corner and walked up... much more sensible! TFTC.
#3961. Well we were very late to sign off this one... the cache was still showing up on my GPS as we drove past. Had not realised it was an archived cache. I was travelling south with Infoferret and her sons after attending two nearby events. I foolishly didn't take the time to read the description or look carefully at the map. So headed across the road with one of IF's sons and we scrambled up a bank that was T4 in nature then hit the narrow fenceline with barbed wire. As we scrambled along the fence and under tree branches above the vertical drop to the road we spied the cemetery. Only then did we understand the magnitude of our folly. We soon made it to the GZ and luckily the container is still present. Signed in our names and found a more sedate route back to the car. Thanks for the archived cache.
Sorry capperz, the container lid has become brittle and broke when putting the lid back on the cache and unfortunately I did not have anything with me to replace it with. Regards LGLNZ.
Over this way with MissT10 today to find a few more caches. After a walk to GZ in the brisk breeze which was blowing through this way the cache was in hand - TNLNSL and left as found although contents a tad wet. Thanks for the placement capperz.
Also sorry capperz, the container lid has become brittle and broke when putting the lid back on the cache and unfortunately I did not have anything with me to replace it with.

Holiday time, means holiday caching.
Made it to Kimbolton territory as we travelled north enjoying Christmas time.
Beautiful weather.
A straightforward find. Cache in order; log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Another find on the great north summer roadtrip with the Banians- a week of travel from Wellington to Auckland via Napier, Wairoa, that secluded road between Wairoa and Rotorua, and almost the Coromandel peninsula

Found on our road trip to Auckland for a wedding (via back roads where we can). Quick find at GZ, fortunately didn't need hint as it was not much help. SL TFTC.
Found this one a month or so ago, can't remember the exact date sorry but it was definitely a Wednesday as that is when I travel this way. There wasn't much of a view at all here on that day but the cache was quickly located without problem and in good condition. Thanks for some back country road caches capperz.
cache number 21 of our 26 cache (for me) back-road blitz road trip to clear a chunk of Capperz' Kimbolton caches.
With the Seagnoid's back-road blitz mission now complete, it was time for me to pick up a couple of local Capperz caches that he had found but I hadn't.
This was the first one, and we were rewarded with a TB.

Spectacular sunny day with brilliant views all round - this looks like a special place to RIP.
We spent the weekend camping in Pohangina and took the long route home to Palmy to pick up some more finds out this way. We have missed this one the last few times we have been up here so were determined to log it today (Sunday) on what must be the hottest day of the year so far! Everything is so very dry. TFTC Capperz, now off to find some of your mini PT caches
Another fun play on words... Mr P and I had a gentle walk to GZ but very happy we weren't late. T4tc
Stopped here and you are right what spectacular views and even better a beautiful eveing

On a bit of a roadtrip to Turangi with bkj97. He decided on an early 5am start and breakfast in Feilding so it was obvious he was planning a few caches on the way. This was number 13 for the day. Unlucky for some but not for us. Nice day at GZ but distant clouds impaired the views.T4TCSL
Found with little blue hen on the way to Turangi by a rather circuitous route via Fielding. Nicely kept area surrounding the cache. TFTCSL
After reading the cache description decided this next cache would be an ideal spot to stop for lunch whilst enjoying the view. Not quite what we expected but had lunch in the car anyway (without the view). Cache was a quick find - too much cloud around to see much today. tftc
We'd been to Taranaki and then Wanganui last night. On our way home we were doing a detour to Kimbolton to visit Cross Hills Garden for the second time in 3 weeks. Having a season ticket helps . In spite of the fact that it was very cold and wet we had a nice walk round the garden, marvelled at the Rhododendrons and warmed up in the café after, then decided to look for just one drive-by cache before leaving Kimbolton. This one was nice and close, so we parked in the pull off area by the cemetery gate and while Mrs B stayed in the warm and dry I headed up the grassy path to find GZ. A large herd of young cows followed my every move with their eyes, there and back, but I think they don't really count as muggles . Cache was easily found, log signed. As for the views, I can see it could be spectacular from there on a good day, but today couldn't see very much at all, which was a shame. Never mind. TFTC
A beautiful view indeed, a bit cloudy so can't see right down but a lovely view of the snowy ranges
Like the title! Good views of the Ruahines covered in snow today. No problems finding this one, thanks capperz.
Found today with Adventure Collectors while attending the event and CITO in Kimbolton. a great day caching and good company. Lots of familiar faces and some from out of the area. Teamed up with Adventure Collectors, SpudNZ, tommygun9 and atomsNZ. To save space we logged ourselves as Team Fasta. TFTC
#1054 Out on a mish to Kimbolton with Nic-Jay and collecting some caches on the way there and back. Detoured after the PT series to find this one that had been overlooked. Bumped into Squirrel Nutcase and FapAndGap again. TFTC.
Out on a road trip collecting caches on the way to and from an event in Kimbolton with Skaga. We spied all the cars earlier on our way through to begin the PT series and mentioned that there must be a cache in there. After completing the PT circuit we detoured back to pick this one up. Ran in to Squirrel Nutcase and FapandGap again. TFTC
On the road again with Gap (of Fap and Gap). Up at the crack of dawn to travel down-country to an event in Kimbolton... The things we do for an August Souvenir.
The last cache of our mini loop, and wouldn't you know it... It's one of those caches. I should have read the title more carefully. Gap walked on ahead and I was soon joined by Skaga and Nik-jay (nice to meet you again). Gap had the cache in hand even before we were half-way along. Some of these residents have been asleep for a long time. TFTC.

Needed to do an event cache to get our August souvenir challenge. Problem was, where is an event cache close by. Mrs Fap found one 300km away in Kimbleton, there appeared to be nothing closer. Phoned Squirrel Nutcas who was a keen starter so Kimbolton it was. All this way so planned to pick up a few more on the way. Left Rotorua at 6am and back home by 8.30pm with 58 caches found, not a bad day at all.

Today's mission was a good one; 50 caches, getting my bronze CITO and FTF Addict badges, moving from bronze to silver in both the Mysterious Cacher and Social Cacher badges and going up a belt! And, probably most importantly, becoming part of team FASTA which, along our travels, took part in probably one of the largest unplanned cache convergences this region has ever seen.
Fortunately we were with a previous finder because the second car in our convoy made the mistake I would have made of parking at the low GPS number and not at the entry point (when approaching from the North). After a quick walk up through the area I found the cache, possibly a little bit better hidden than intended. After logging Team FASTA's find and returning the cache we met a couple of finders on their way in.

Firewoof and I parked up before the entrance thinking the cache was roadside but the gps said it was still ~30m away. It took us a moment to realise there was a cemetery over the hill and the cache was stashed in there. We jumped back into the car and headed around to the entrance where Spudnz was parked. A very quick find ensued.
A good name for this cache. TFTC

This Sunday was designated a "Caching Day" due to an event and a CITO in Kimbolten, as well as some new caching and a nice little back country road power trail. With the 4WD loaded up with SpudNZ, Tommygun9, Myself and Baby Tommygun9 we headed off to complete a 50 cache day. During the day we partnered up with Firewoof and Adventure Collectors to become Team FASTA (some of the nano logs needed space saving). At one cache we met so many people it almost became "Team EVERYONE" and an impromptu event!

On a caching expedition to the Manuwatu. Quick and easy find for this one. TFTC
Drove out to Kimbolton today as the lure of all of those caches in the one place was too much for me. Grabbed the ones in town first and then drove around the back roads picking up the others as we went. Such a quiet little town, barely anyone around when we were in town and driving round the back roads we passed maybe two cars total. It was such a nice day to do this drive, clear skies, few clouds on the horizon and very beautiful views. Thanks for all of the caches in this area, we really enjoyed our caching trip today.
We parked on the road when we started getting close to this one but just couldn't get the numbers to go down low enough, then we realised that we could actually drive a bit further up the road and walk up the hill to the hiding spot..... Easy find once we found our way to the right area, thanks for the cache!

A nice sunny day for our trip around Kimbolton. It was nice and clear so we managed to get looks of great views! We were able to search in peace as we barely saw anyone around. All of the caches around this area were really well done and I enjoyed my drive around today. Thanks for all of the caches!
A quick find after a day hiking up to Rangiwahia Hut.

On my way back to Auckland after a stay in Wellington area. Curious that so many cemeteries have such superb views. Seems to me that the long term residents here are those least able to enjoy the outlook. This back road is much more interesting and quiet than SH1.
Had a great day out geocaching around Manawatu with skindo.
We soon had this cache located.

Came here on a weekend trip to the Manawatu. This cache and a couple of nearby ones were a major objective of the trip as they fill in the last slot required for me to qualify for Skindo's 40 degree South challenge cache in the Wairarapa. A quick find in a very peaceful spot - signed log, TFTC

Always like the cemetary caches, pity it was too wet to spend much time. Youngster with us was more excited to spot the rabbits running about. TFTC
Last time here I found pieces of the container on the lawn amongst the lawn clippings. Thanks capperz for replacing the cache. Quick find. Thanks for the cache.

Think the last cache was muggled by the lawnmowing guy so replaced and moved the cache

A MEGA Adventure
Both Nova Lightning and myself had set ourselves caching targets that we were hoping to meet in time for the NZMEGA in a few weeks. So with a plan in progress and fuel in the tank away we set.
Departed home at 6pm Friday, returned home 3.30pm Monday, 7 hours sleep approx 470 caches and a great adventure.
Thanks to all those that have placed caches especially Skindo as I think we gave his caches a bit of a nudge
Thanks for a great weekend of Caching and Bull.

Mega Weekend
It all started about a month ago when Cats&Dragons brought up the idea of heading down the line to collect 350+ caches. We both had targets that we wanted to meet before attending the NZ Mega. Plans and locations were drawn up and puzzles were begun to be solved. It took me a while to get my head around a few of the puzzles and with the help of a cacher I was soon on a roll.
The weekend finally came and we departed Hamilton at 6pm on a Friday night. 3days, 2,000km, & 11hrs sleep, later 472 caches collected. Thanks to all those who's caches I found especially Skindo with a huge number laid.
Always fun being at a cemetery at 2am

The significance of the cache name was lost on us until we arrived, when it became meaningful. The cache was a quick easy find, but it was too cloudy to see Kapiti Island today. TFTC
Love the hint - knew exactly what we were looking for.

I have a house guest from the USA, and John wants to see a bit of New Zealand. What better way than to intoduce him to geocaching via some rural caches? A beautifully sunny but cool day for a drive around the country. By the end of the day John was hooked and had created his login. Alas, he could not count today's caches as he didn't have a geonick yet to sign any logs.
Quick find of the cache, then we turned around... and what a view! and a cool sundial!
