TFTC. Such a beautiful late April afternoon.

Finished work this morning in Masterton and now heading to the airport. Had spare time to collect a few caches. Great walk and a straight forward find at GZ. The way I like it. Collected the clues.Thanks for the smiley

In the Wellington area for the night and I had a short list of caches to get for challenges in the South Island. This was one of them! After a 4.5hr drive it was great to get out and stretch our legs. Loved the walk here and we were pretty hot by the time we made it back to the car! All good here. Cache was exposed a little so tried to cover it a bit more. TFTC

I was due to check up on this cache and a recent DNF prompted me to put it higher on my list. There has been the occasional DNF so it's no great surprise when I see one recorded. The cache had crept a further away from the rock than it originally was so I put it back.

Missed the track turn off for this one when I did this walk with the geohound a few weeks ago so while we were here again I thought I’d suggest ‘seeing where this off shoot went….oh look a geocache!’. I wasn’t as mysterious as I thought and everyone already knew there was probably a cache down here

My employer required me to attend a course on this side of the strait. So, even before I had planned flights or accommodation, I sussed out a heap of caches that I would pass near, or could get out to, after hours, in darkness.

After day one, and some dinner, I rugged up with several layers, grabbed several lighting options and, ignoring one of the attributes, took the walk up the road to the tanks and then further to here.

I had already solved a few of the COs puzzles making this one an easy walk and grab (down the hill for me) before I continued further on as the track appeared and disappeared through the bush for my 11km & 4 1/2 hour loop.

I found this cache while looking for a bunch of solved puzzle caches in the same area. Spotted the hint object easily while climbing the hill, and made a quick find. All good in the container, and recorded the useful information. Tftc!

Great walk with the kids, nice find!

Having walked up this way yesterday to find a different cache, I had done a pre-find then so that today all I had to do was walk to the cache and sign the log.

Nice and easy, everything is A-OK with this cache. Took a photo of the clue card, which was my last missing piece of the puzzle so to speak to now solve Sweet Little Mystery.

Got to GZ, found the cache, noted the code and was putting everything back together when I got muggled - by a dog! Followed shortly after by his owner, the only person I saw the whole afternoon. I made out I was waiting for him to pass by which was plausible as the path is very narrow at this point. TFTC

A lovely area to cache in and a reserve I had never visited before. Had a great walk through the reserve finding a lot of different caches along the way. A nice easy find here and the cache is in good condition. Noted the info for the sweet little mystery puzzle. Almost got muggled by a jogger, luckily I'd just replaced the cache and was getting reading to continue on my way. TFTC

Came in via Blue Mountains Rd and Ecclesfield Reserve and then finally followed the indicated track into the Witako Reserve It was a rather longer and steeper trip than I had imagined but well worth the effort Never ceases to amaze me where this crazy pastime will take me All safe in here Thanks brucewwnz

Our last for the day and the final (7th) TB we collected, we are going to be busy in the next few weeks releasing them into the wild. A well placed cache here, and we've noted the puzzle info to help us along. Time to turn around and head back to the car at the other end. Tftc

Came in from the northern entrance (Raynham Way) of the Reserve and walked the geocache line to this cache. The last one for the day. Time to turn around and walk back.
Just after returning the cache and giving it the cover a muggle and his dog came up the path, phew, all good.

I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. Another quick find of a good condition cache.

Down in the Capital for an extra long weekend before exams start, with Jag50, Merlot58 & Bertie Blowfish. We were staying just down the road and thought this would be a good brisk walk for the morning to warm up. Didn't quite realise how many steps there would be. Passed a runner coming down the hill just before reaching the cache.

After MEGA registration, a morning walk in the Forest and Bird Ecclesfield Reserve and Wi Tako scenic reserve. Gorgeous beech forest, a lovely track and delightful caches - a highlight of our visit. We found the cache totally visible - left it covered.

I am really enjoying coming up here to explore this park. My new year's resolution involves quite a bit more running than I was doing last year, so it is good to find new trails I haven't run on before.

Mud, glorious mud! Approached from the southern end of the reserve. I knew what to expect once leaving the well tended section of track, but it always seems muddier than it ought to be up here! Got distracted by a pretender until glancing uphill and spotting the eponymous rock in question, and the obvious cache. TFTC

Three DNFs in a row was too many to ignore for a cache that is not meant to be difficult to find. I called by today to search, bearing in mind that the last finder located the cache where it was not supposed to be and may have re-hidden it very well. However, I couldn't find it so I placed a new container with a recycled logbook. This track is best enjoyed after a period of dry weather but can still be easily negotiated with some sturdy footwear and some care on the slippery bits.

That makes three DNF's, time for some CO maintenance.

We tried and tried to find this one, but just couldn't.......

Only one in the reserve I couldn't find today. Spent a bit of time searching, but no luck for me here.

Cache was sitting on top of said rock so not the hardest find, signed and re-hid

I was in the area for the weekend and the nearby trail was on my radar as I needed some different D/T ratings to complete a challenge.
The trail had definitely narrowed by this stage and wasn't what I was expecting but I carried on nonetheless. Rain clouds were looking very threatening out to the west too! Made a quick find once I reached GZ.

The rock loomed into view from some distance so a short search on arrival. Collected the info although I haven't yet looked at what it's for. TFTC.

Nice quick find on a rainy day with the entire area to ourselves. Never knew this area even existed before.

Couldn't find the hint object as GPS reception was a bit dodgy but then decided to try a bit further up the track and it was pretty hard to miss.

Cycled up from Melling with an overcast and threatening sky. We had not visited Ecclesfield Reserve previously and what a joy it. Wonderful beech trees, regenerating rimu and yes it is a big rock. TFTC

A whistle stop tour of the North Island on a work trip with a ferry sailing in, an afternoon on the ground, overnight nearby followed by an hour of caching Tuesday arvo, then a ferry back to the Mainland in the evening. So a plan was hatched, the maps were checked and a likely looking route was mapped out to head up into the 'hills' overlooking Silverstream and walk a loop of geocaches! Had pre-solved a couple of Puzzle caches prior (with some assistance in some cases), though in the end only managed to find one of the tickets please ones. A combination of poor looking, not-thereness, and dodgy solutions had me missing out on a few. Still easily managed to grab around 20 caches, with some absolute pearlers up on the ridge well deserving of some of my F Ps. Thanks to all the C O s who placed.
On the way back down now and grabbed this on the way past. Made a note of the list in case of future efforts, you just never know!

Tried finding this using the phone. Unfortunately its GZ was short of the cache and spent a bit of time searching there. Fired up the GPS hoping the batteries would be enough and it led me on to a better spot and an easy find. A little bit of a haul getting up here in the lunch time. TFTC

Found it with my son on a nice spring day

[green] Took the day off work in Blenheim to come for a job interview in Trentham. And some geocaching, of course. Took the little island hopper over - I was the only passenger on board! On the way back it was full up - every seat was taken. Got to Trentham, job interview went great (but I am one of three on the short list, so I'll find out later). It not even lunchtime, and the plane leaves at 5pm. Yep, its Geocaching Time!!

Paid a visit to double check that we had collected the required intelligence when we first visited in February 2013. We had!

Was up in the bush, walking the dogs and thought that the hiding place seemed like a good place to put a geocache, so had a look and there one was! TFTC.

Spent some time looking near the wrong rock. On reading some previous logs I went a bit further up and found the right spot. TFTC!
