TFTC - found quickly but attacked by blackberries. Log too wet to sign but have attached a photo. New log required.
Decided to enjoy the break in the rain by finding a few caches. Was found with out too much searching. TFTC
Down from Queensland to spend a few days on retreat with the Marist Brothers I made use of a larger gap in the program to grab some nearby geocaches.
I visited the Catholic cemetery and felt that for the sake of balance I needed to come to the Anglican cemetery as well. It was nice to read some local history whilst here.
Quick find and back to the hermitage to get out of the winter wind.

This was on my way to the Wangaratta MEGA event, it is a slow drive down as I was stopping off at many of the unusual and interesting places. My trip down south is mostly centered on the older caches and ones for challenges or d/t grids, but I was also stopping at a few as I passed by.
Now for the mind numbing exercise of logging all my finds.
I am sorry to say that I do not remember all the caches of the trip (there is a lot). Luckily, I have Cachly to help me out.
After my high of the old cache in the area I headed over to this one. Maybe I’m a little morbid but I don’t mind doing cemetery caches. This was an easy find and with the log signed and cache replaced as found I was on my way again. Thanks for placing this one here.

A nice and peaceful place to sit and relax and we did exactly that after finding and signing the logbook in the cache.
Thank you for the cache!

Out caching with mrwhiskers76 today. A nice little cemetery with some decently old graves. Thank you !
Thanks we have driven past here for years, it was great to finally stop and have a look around.
**This Cache:**
A bit of a sad cemetery here A LOT of the gravestones are completely illegible, would be great if someone could come and clean them all up! I remember a news article recently of someone who took the time to clean gravestones, this place desperately needs it as they are mostly unidentifiable at the moment!
Thanks for the cache
**Today:**
A trip to the Southern Highlands today with DSD to clean up some of the more "Park and Grab" style caches, rather than being super focused like I usually am! We also managed to sneak in some of the solved puzzles on my list too which were on my to-do list and happened to be along the routes we were taking!
All up a fairly productive day, with 45 finds over a 5 hour period excluding the driving time to/from Canberra. We had a few DNF's and a LOTTT of Did Not Attempts, unfortunately there seems to be a lot of missing caches around the place.
Thanks to all the CO's!

Found this cache while out geocaching near the Moss Vale, NSW area. The cache was in good condition unless stated otherwise. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since March 2015. At the time of finding this cache, I have over 8550 finds plus 1120 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega (GC7N7ZC) 2019 in Wollongong, Australia. It was my love of Geocaching that helped me find my lovely Wife. I have dedicated a Geocache to her that explains how Geocaching brought us together. That Cache is The Blueiris of Tidbinbilla by DARKSIDEDAN. | GC80WHA | Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Currently I have over 10,000 Pathtags in my Collection plus over 500 Etagz. My collection includes over 300 JMC Pathtags and 180 Charlie Harper Pathtags. I love to trade pathtags with people at events or via post within Australia only. I currently have four Personal Pathtags 45762 / 46950 / 47696 / 47987 with another three in the works. Note: I do not trade overseas (Australia Only) so please do not ask. Also I do not log my Pathtags on Pathtags.com to keep what I have in my collection private. If you are selling your Pathtags or want to swap Pathtags send me a message. As a bonus to reading this very long log, please feel free to discover my Virtual Trackable AR6QTT. I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it.
Geocache Poem
by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

***** I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the May 2021 my average is 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 200 words for a long period of time to get my average up. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After more than 8000 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including today I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the NSW Southern Highlands for a short midweek caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Mittagong Caravan Park at Emu Plains, and are planning to explore the areas around Mittagong, Bowral, Mount Gibraltar, and Box Vale. Hoping to collect a variety of cache types, including some Earthcaches and Wherigos and previously solved Puzzle caches, and to also complete some of the Adventure Labs in the area. This was our 26th find of the day (day 5), and 110th find of the holiday.
After a busy morning of caching around Mittagong we stopped in the town centre for some lunch and a quick look in the Antique shops, then headed to the outskirts of town for a few more caches to end the holiday.
Arrived at the cemetery and headed over to GZ for a nice quick find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC The Bushies.

#7239. My last day of the Australia trip. Been having a good time touring around caches in Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong after visiting the Mega event. Today was the least structured day of the trip. I need to be back in Sydney by 4pm at the latest for my flight home and so haven't really planned any target caches. Just picking up a few that seem interesting as I head inland and back along the highway north to airport.
Following the Tourist Road route (being a tourist). Surprising amount of traffic along this section of the road today. Parked at the cemetery and headed off to find the cache. I enjoy visiting old cemetery caches and taking in some of the local history you get from the headstones. But today only had time for a park and grab. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks The Bushies for hiding it here.

Fitzy_1965 and myself along with two of my geo-kids, death_killer & my_nam_jeff_1, were out for some caching therapy this afternoon. Our aim was the newer caches in the area.
Even though it was overcast and threatening rain, it was quiet humid to head off for a walk. It ended up quite enjoyable and seems rather popular with the locals using the path.
Quick detour for me & the geo_kids whilst on our way to the next trail. Thanks The Bushies.

Finally the Geowife's lunch up north is on - took quite a few attempts at this one. So after dropping her and a friend at the station I headed south for more ***Cache Plundering In The Southern Highlands***.
I decided to start with a puzzle for which I've had the solution for a while. Well, wasn't that one exciting? A new experience after over five and a half thousand finds!
Then went for another seventeen in the area - with one DNF and one DNAttempt.
And home in time for... actually the Geowife said she only beat me home by 5 minutes.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
No muggles in the cemetery, but two either side that just weren't going anywhere. The workers in the garden weren't too much of a problem, but really had to time my grab thanks to the two working in the vineyard.
Signed on the nearby bench and back for the timed replace.

I had just driven down the hill and was looking for a safe place to turn around and head back when I saw this cemetery and checked if there was a cache there, and of course there was! The graves here are very old and in disrepair but the grounds are neat. Arriving at GZ I noticed a cachers' trail and the container was nicely hidden at the end of that. Thanks to The Bushies for placing a good sized cache way out here.
Out caching with Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket on my birthday, a nice hide. TFTC

Good coords and Nice hide! I'm sure we've mentioned it before but we do love a good cemetery!

A quick find with Commando on our way from Sydney to Canberra. Well worth the detour. Tftc
most cemeteries are sad places, but this one more than most for me. There are lots of little bodies here in unmarked graves from past years when there were state run orphanages locally. this cache led me to google the Mittagong Farm Homewhich was one of the longest running children's homes in NSW. I cant begin to imagine the horror many of these kids went through. Maybe on my next visit to the area I'll find Challoner Cottage which was/is another name for this institution.
thank you for placing a cache here as it reminded me how lucky I was to have the childhood I had.

One last LKA before the caching day is over...except, another appears as we leave. Okay ONE more.
I'm on a retreat at The Hermitage nearby. I had over an hour until the next session, so I went for a quiet walk. I took the hint a little bit too seriously, so it took longer to find the cache than it should have. I finally found it as I chatted on the phone to my son, and sat on the grass to keep chatting and fill in the log. I returned the cache, finished the conversation, and walked back to The Hermitage for afternoon tea. Thanks for the cache!
Another knock off the list of local caches. Thanks for another in your great series, there is only one missing. ... a LKA Welby. Thanks for the hide the Bushies.
