Gone and not keen to replace where it was.

14-Mar-19
No luck for us today after a good look. Most probably a severe case of cache blindness as we tried many today and failed on all but one.

Came by here a few months ago and gathered the info and made a mess of some numbers. Reworked at home and got a different result and today wa sthe first time passing again so had time for a re-check. After G P S stopped messing I consulted the hint and the cache was soon in hand, T F T M and C SoBad.

The weekend is here and after what seemed like the longest 4-day week ever known (after Queens birthday on Monday) it was time to come up with a plan for the day. Initially this weekend I had no real plan or caching targets and thought that it would be slim pickings, esp with the upcoming souvenir-offerings requiring some abstinence and careful rationing.
Then yesterday evening I decided that we would head over to Motueka for a few, and so that was the plan.
It's been all quiet on the new-cache front for a while but I knew that there would be some releases as I had a few of my own in the queue. I was checking Project-gc for unfound caches to see if there were to be any options to continue my streak and was surprised at 2130 last night to spot my new listings were already on the map, as well as a couple over the hill, and this one here in Marlborough. Not a single email had been received and despite much checking that was the case as I headed up to bed for the night.
Upon awakening this morning I saw that my inbox did overflow and aside from my couple of new caches a potential FTF was now actually on the website officially. On our way over the hill we were at G Z at around 0800 after dropping off Livi for work we parked up and stormed in for a FTF and got that monkey off my caching back.
We headed to the Nelson market and grabbed some great fresh veggies for taking back over the hill for the next few days and also found time to swing into Richmond for a tiny amount of retail therapy, much to mrs capperz delight, and my 'delight'.
Then it was just a series of trips to beaches, walkways and treats from the Tasman area and a few caches were found and enjoyed.

Nine days to do some caching for the price of four leave days - who could complain about that! I found a quirky place to stay near Motueka, and decided to base myself there to cache in the wider area. I had a few on my hit list, and ended up finding a great variety of different caches on the trip.
Day seven - a few more on my way back fro walking around Takaka Hill. I could see why we were struggling a few years back in the dark! Nice and quick find today. TFTC!!

12-Jan-18
Nana has finally got around to making my account so we are logging some of the caches I have helped her find. I go geocaching with my grandparents, my brother and my sister. I like finding them

07-Dec-17
A good excuse to take a break on the bike out of the hot sun. A straight forward , but satisfying cache to do. Many thsnks.

12-Nov-17
We had fun playing here tftc

11-Nov-17
We had been nearby for a fruit icecream, we spent about half an hour here while the kids played. The multi was nice, easy and an instant find. Thanks SoBad for encouraging us to come and spend some time here

19-May-17
Nice easy multi.

22-Mar-17
Interesting names, TFTC

Quick compact multi that we solved on the way to kaiteriteri for the prize giving of the half marathon. Jo wasn't keen on the puddle jumping so solve and find was all mine. Worthy subject for a cache. Thanks SoBads.

20-Jan-17
Got Mr6 to do the counting and writing for this quick little multi. Then got a yummy fruit ice-cream from the café over the way. Perfect caching trip. Tftc

30-Dec-16
Up with the Lark and over the hill from Wainui on an early morning cache run. I got here at about 5:30 and it was a "convenient" place to stop as there is a "convenience" here. It sort of jumped out at me and said I'm hiding here. Cheers and TFTC

24-Aug-16
Thanks for replacing, found quickly this time on my way past this morning. Had to employ the tweezers- someone with smaller fingers might be ok
Thanks very much!

07-Aug-16
Family visit to the area and cache replaced. Now a green container similar size to a pill bottle.

31-Jul-16
Gathered co ords without trouble but 30mins searching around gz was fruitless for me this time. Nice spot though, I'll watch and return thanks.

31-Jul-16
Doesnt sound good and will be checked in the next two weeks.

07-Feb-16
This one almost got the better of us. It was well hidden and camouflaged. But after a bit of hands and knees work and scratching around we found it, but it almost had us stumped. We will not forget their sacrifice. Thanks SoBad for the cache.

31-Dec-15
Found with 2wombles while in this area for New Year. Thanks SoBad for the cache.

31-Dec-15
Had some spare time after dropping our car off at the garage for repairs so grabbed a few caches in the area. A nice wee multi. Thanks for the cache

17-Dec-15
Changing log to a found, mucked up when logging the other day

28-Nov-15
The information was quickly and easily gathered but we very nearly DNFed the cache by being stuck on where we though the exact GZ was and couldnt find anything at it. Thankfully we expanded the search while leaving and I spotted it. Thanks for the cache Smile

25-Nov-15
We quickly gathered the required information, leading to a quick easy find, out of sight of the gardener working nearby. TFTC

24-Nov-15
Found while on a bike ride today TFTC

20-Nov-15

sad history lesson - found it [:}]

21-Mar-15
Worked this one out quickly . TFTC

08-Mar-15
We had passed these lovely gates quite a few times before, finally today we stopped and worked out the final for this multi. The nearby toilets were an added bonus.
Always a bit apprehensive when a cache has had no found logs in over 6 months, and a couple of DNFs but it didn't take StreetWalker long to find the cache, while I was looking somewhere else Red Face.
There were a couple of names in the log book from November of last year, must have forgotten to log on-line. TFTC.

08-Mar-15
#9217. It didn't take long to get some coords, and luckily I looked in the right place early in the search. TFTC.

23-Dec-14
Together with Silli1310 our goal today was the start of the "Abel Tasman coast track". Since we had a lot of time and the cache didn't sound very long, we made a stop and took our legs and collected the values. Finally we went to the final, which we could find without problems. Many thanks for the cache and apologies for the late logging.

23-Dec-14
On our way to the Abel Tasman Walk we came here and could solve all the tasks and could find the cache as well. Thanks!

05-Oct-14
For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

We started our adventures today kayaking, but decided to find another ‘few’ as at this stage we still did not know that the Bulk Finding Challenge has been archived… Sad

Unfortunately we could not find this one, in spite of spending quite a bit of time searching...

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

No luck today at final.

17-Aug-14
Good multi. Took a few mins to find the final.

24-May-14
Nice hide. Thanks

03-Mar-14
Found on a nice day in the Area

06-Feb-14
Made a mistake and went in the wrong direction! Returned to try again and had that AHA moment..Not sure how I made the mistake..armed with the right coordinates and it still took us a longer time than it should have to find it. Thanks!

04-Feb-14
enjoyed solving the puzzle[^]
wasn't long before the cache was in our hands
thank you for the cache and the puzzle

04-Jan-14
Love war memorial caches and cemetery caches so this was a natural attraction.
We had just lunched at Ginger Dynamite across the road after visiting the Ngarua Caves up Takaka Hill.
A pleasant stroll across to the domain and the hunt was on! Unfortunately it took a few spins around the GZ before the cache was located
TFTC - very enjoyable

23-Dec-13
[green] Down here from Palmerston North to visit one of my dads for Christmas. Bit of a family gathering actually. Went around to my Dad's place and borrowed his bike to cycle the Kaiteriteri loop.
got all the figures down, entered them in and ... the cache is 83 kilometers away. Hmmm.... probably not. Corrected the degrees... Ah! Much better. Find didn't take too long.

15-Dec-13
Nicely tendered garden and a quiet place for contemplation. TFTC.

20-Oct-13
Apart from a couple of games of tennis going on the reserve was deserted. Didnt take much encouragement to sit down in the sun while working out the coordinates. I could have sat there all day. It's humbling seeing the names of those who gave up so much. TFTC

26-Jul-13
26 ks on my bike and 8 caches

06-Jul-13
I vaguely remember an earlier multi here, might be wrong but pretty sure I have visited before. A great spot, I enjoyed another visit.

Came back today on our way to the local Motueka Bridge tournament held at the nearby Riwaka school. Today was a date day - very important Smile Re did the numbers. You get quite quick at them on the third go [:o)]
Scratched around a bit and spotted the prize. Thanks for the cache. Now off to play pretty ordinary Bridge. Luckily the food and social atmosphere was good.
These memorial caches are really good when done just after ANZAC day as everything has just had a spruce up and it all looks cared for. Still a wreath here in remembrance too.

30-Mar-13
I was out this way on an FTF hunt and decided to call by for a nice walk and a dnf. Calculated the wrong set of coordinates to start with but guessed where I may have made the error. Looked around the second GZ but it wasn't a concerted effort without being certain of my numbers and there were so many places it could be hidden. We will return.

06-Feb-13
A very enjoyable multi thanks. The person sleeping almost on WPT2 didn't even stir as I took the numbers I needed. Not the quickest find of the day but not the longest either. TFTC #4491

26-Jan-13
Heading over the hill to check some caches, remembered unfinished business here. GPS not required, and found in the one place I did not look last time.....ah..! Enjoyed this.

13-Jan-13
Out 'doing' the area. Over for the event today and camping in the area. On our way home. Decided to 'do'this one. Success. TFTC.

13-Jan-13
Heading home from the event and we were considering a stop to grab this one. Must admit have been muggled off this area before so seeing a fellow cachers wagon we deided to join the search! We arrived a bit late for that but upon hearing we had been unsucessful before on this one they stayed back and observed. GPS headed us in the right direction and as soon as we zeroed out a quick search got the prize for us. We are sure we had even looked in this place before and not found but it was obvious we did not look as well as we should have Sad. TFTC Smile

13-Jan-13
Stretch0 said lets give this cache one more go - as we approached we saw we werent the only ones with the cache on their to do list Smile they had already found the cache but were a great cheering team for us as we zeroed out and were encouraged to try out an area we are sure we thoroughly searched one other time !!! pleased to have this one crossed off the list and appreciate the cheering squads company and enthusiasm Smile thanks for the cache Smile

13-Jan-13
Stopped off this morning on the way to an event in Marahau. No one around this time so it was OK to have a good search. Cache wasn't in the first place I looked but it didn't take too long to spot it. this must be about the third cache I've found in this general area. Hope this one does well. TFTC, Biggles.

10-Jan-13
Got all the info I need for finding the cache but found the area a bit too full of curious muggles to be able to search discretely. I'll be back!!

Joint effort with Sidewaze. Out for a spot of caching and exercise and thought we would give this one a go. Funny how when you are sure you have given a location a really thorough search, some one else (like Sidewaze) can come along and find the cache immediately in that very place. Smile TFTC

A cool multi. - - - A cacher's way of paying respect. TFTC Big Grin

30-Dec-12
The find took a bit longer than it should have and I'll blame the tree cover Red Face TFTC

30-Dec-12
Too nice a day to stay home so we headed out country again to find a few caches. This type of GZ always gives pause for thought. All the info was soon gathered but the find took a bit longer due to tree cover and the need to be aware of a determined muggle who pretended not to be interested in what we were doing but made it obvious she was. TFTC.

08-Dec-12
Gave this one a crack but with no luck today will try again soon.

07-Dec-12
FTF shared with Mr B. This is a classic spot for a multi cache and looked like a good one for a TNR visit. Very surprised that only one cacher had attempted this in the last few days. The find took longer than we would have liked with the lightening and thunder on the horizon but about what I expected. We certainly earned the FTF here as it wasn't easy to spot the container in the dark. TFTC.

Let's not forget about the reason for the cache. The memorial does make you think about what those brave souls went through. Hard for us to really comprehend but we will always remember them. Lest we forget.

06-Dec-12
No intention of coming here but accepted the KE invitation to come for the ride to plan out some other stuff. Dodged the nasty electrical storm just in time. Familiar multi, except for the final hide that required KE to do the honours. Thanks for placing this cache. #CS#

05-Dec-12
Hint added as it was meant to be easy.

04-Dec-12
Passing, so why not have a crack at this.
My result had me down the road, but after rerechecking, fixed 2 errors, came up with a likely possibilty. Bit of a scratch around. but just could not nail it......oh well never mind.
As for war, it is folly. You gotta wonder what was in those boys minds as they went into the field. Good to remember their sacrifice.
