It has finally come time to archive this series as the council is not going to keep the walk maintained and it has been diverted to no longer going in a link.
out in bacchus marsh from geelong caching with my good friend Alchey. reaching the end of the line for me with finds along this track, we approached gz and had a feeling of dread as we saw big piles of rocks and dirt, which had been cleared from along the top very recently. gz was just dirt with remnants of something they had sprayed the area with to kill weeds. as this looks like it has been done since the last find, gz was clear and there didnt appear to be any other possibilities close enough even if the coords were out, we can only assume that the cache was a fatality in the clean up. hopefully it will be replaced and maybe next visit to this neck of the woods we can come and claim a find.

I had been meaning to do this series for a while, but ended up finally getting it done today during a big day of caching in Bacchus Marsh with a geocaching crew from Geelong and Ballarat.
We headed for GZ where a previous finder helped us make the find. We replaced it as concealed as possible, as there seems to be some council works around here.
Thanks for the series, sorceysal.

Found as part of the Geelong crew caching road trip.
Found cache exposed on the ground. Glad it's here still
Found cache exposed on the ground. Glad it's here still
This was find number 31 on a huge day of caching spent in and around Bacchus Marsh. We started out in Lara with an early morning flash mob event and then hit the road, caching our way towards The Marsh where we added a couple of the Ballarat crew to our number. And so with Na'wal, Frog_Lady, ThePacman, The_Tritonz, Roads75, Wozzle68, ST37E, DAB and Jacko83 we drove, walked, waded, scrambled and slid our way to a total for me of 36 caches.
This find was more of a scramble and the cache was found exposed as there appears to have been some works in the area. We signed the log and replaced the cache in a less exposed position before it was decided that some of the group would make an assault on the nearby peak.
Thanks sourceysal !

Found Another cache that was out in the open elements so a very easy find. Container was fine. We replaced a little better but it looked a little suss to another geo cacher I'm sure A beautiful walk along the Lerdies Links. With the water flowing to our right and the sun shining, it was a great time to do this series.
A group trip including Frog_Lady, Buckleysbabe, the Pacman, the Tritonz, Roads75, Wozzle68, ST37E, DAB, Jacko83. It was a fantastic day that we had traveling from Geelong into Bacchus Marsh. Some very clever hides were found, plenty of laughs and great company.

We were on a group assault up from Geelong with the company of Na'wal, Buckleysbabe, The_Pacman, Frog_Lady, Roads75, Wozzle68, ST37E, DAB, and Jacko83, with lots of fun and laughs along the way, We really loved the walk along here, it really made our day, thanks for bringing us down along here, Thanks for the cache.
Found 1:32:00 PM, on a lazy Sunday afternoon caching expedition. On arrival at GZ we initially feared that ongoing track works may have disturbed this cache. However our fears were unfounded as the cache was safe and seems unlikely to be disturbed
TNLN, thanks sorceysal.
TNLN, thanks sorceysal.
A Saturday morning . A river walk. Absolutely no one about. Off we go...
A very enjoyable series. A chance to stretch your legs without having to hop over boulders.
A quick find as we turn into the curve towards the end. Thanks very much for the work on your clue rhymes.
They make each one easier to remember when I log the finds. The terrain here is important for a challenge I'm working towards.
Thanks and cheers !

Tackled the second half of this trail today, an enjoyable walk, with birds and lizards to be seen. And in this case golfers.

Unfortunately the lid wasn't replaced properly. The contents were all damp. Not to worry, I still got to sign the log. TFTC sorceysal.
The path is still quite passable, and lots of barky dogs, but fortunately behind fences! The container seems to have let a bit of water in with the swaps quite damp and some rusty. However the log was dry enough to sign. TFTC.
Grabbed on an evening outing with my dog. A little disappointed to see this one lying out in the open but I tucked it back in to its hide and covered before I left. Enjoyed the smell of asparagus fern around here. TNLN. TFTC sorceysal

Out finding a few local caches with GeoHusband. This is a great walk along a beautiful river. Be careful of the condition of the track at the beginning. Lots of muggles, hint was very helpful.
Found by The Empire @ 12:50pm
Find number 13 of 27 today. I deployed my pretty capable mountain bike for the trek this afternoon, glad I did as it made everything pretty easy, especially the ride back to the car. All of the cache were found in the series, some taking longer than others. I little run in with some stinging nettle but that's just a another caching day for me in Spring! My thanks to sorceysal for the cache, and the series.

Found on a days caching with LumpyJRB who was visiting from Katherine in the Northern Territory.
The sign said the track was closed. Oh well I thought, just add another star to the terrain difficulty LOL. I really enjoyed this little series. I liked the variety of hides and effort put in. TFTC.

A nice spot and all quiet around here.
Thanks to sorceysal for this nice series, time to walk back to the car now, with a few more caches to collect.

Nice easy find, but kids getting cranky by now, and its starting to drizzle. They really did not want to stop and collect this one. Glad it was a quick find.

Found with S 4 Sammy on a nice walk around the Bacchus Marsh Golf Course on Easter Saturday, nice quick find when I finally decided to look in the correct place

It's Torment Your Daughter Day, er, parent-teacher interviews, so Miss Teenager and I have the pleasure of each other's company. As her idea off a good time is with her nose in a novel, she may as well be in the passenger seat of the car as lounging around the house. So, let's start on the great number of hides in Bacchus Marsh.
If the teenager thought she was just going to laze in the passenger seat of the car all day, she was dreaming. I needed a bit of a leg stretch, which meant guess who would be accompanying me. This, after all, is the reason we've come this way.
Ten caches in a four klick loop? Perfect for a fine sunny day.
I had a good break after an easy find, as I had to wait for the teen to make her way up the hill, and, more importantly, for the friendly dog and his walker to disappear in the other direction before I could make the grab after an instant find. Fortunately, it's a comfortable place to sit and wait.

Finally, my caching partner in crime SedgwickDave had returned from a trip out west so it was time for another caching run, this time in Lerderderg State Park, hopefully to grab a FTF and a D / T Combo that both Dave and I had not yet been able to get. The weather forecast was looking good with a max around 25, so Dave picked me up from my place for an early start.
We had now rounded the bend and were on the homeward stretch. Feet were starting to hurt now after a couple of big days walking. This one was a quick straightforward hide, only one spot it could be.
Thanks again to sorceysal for the cache. TNLN.

Having spent the morning in Lerderderg State Park hunting some high terrain caches with Ahomburg, we still had some time to hunt for some local caches before making the drive back to HQ. After refueling and having lunch had a local Fish n' Chip shop, spent the following 2 hours walking around the local river and golf course collecting a number of good caches. By now the weather was ideal with temperature around 25 but it felt warmer then that and glad I had the sunscreen on.
Another quick find as we powered around the golf course this afternoon, doing this nice series. Enjoyed the hunt. TFTC sorceysal

A run of 7 and still finding them all. A nice easy set of caches along the track. This one is a bit of a climb, but even for an unfit bloke like me this was easy enough to get to from the bottom.
Took nothing, left nothing.

Don't know how but I rode past this one yesterday. I think I was too busy concentrating on the bike going down the steep incline to worry about the GPS reading.
Anyway today I was on foot and nearly walked past it again. The sky was stormy which suits the clue - bubble bubble toil and trouble and the cache was found.
Happy to say that now all in this series have been crossed off my list.
TFTC Sorceysal and for keeping me fit.

I accessed this one from a point only about 100m north of the track with the "Track Closed" signs and easily made my way to GZ for an easy find. Methinks that the signs are no longer relevant.
We decided to finish the old year doing our favourite thing "Geocaching" Our 6th find for the day and our 5th and final one of the series. We came a cross a fungi puff ball near the path as we strolled along - won't be long before the spores will be scattered in the wind! We made it up the hill which was made easier by a lovely cool breeze and found the last cache. TFTC sorceysal and our wonderful challenge and experience of doing this series which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Last one on the walk for me today in this spot Walked back along the river such a nice walk TFTC
Thanks for the circuit walk.

Myself and my fellow TDC mates (Rebel Acts, Trailrunning and Blacklegend) had planned a big night of caching which had us starting in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and moving on through Bacchus Marsh and on into Werribee Gorge where we did some more challenging caches. We had a list of solved puzzles to collect along with the usual plethora of trads.
The weather was perfect for caching during the night and we all had a great time finding the various range of cache hides and types. We did a fair bit of walking / hiking during the latter part of the night, especially around the Werribee Gorge, which we found to be extremely challenging and well worth the effort.
We walked and completed this short series of caches tonight. We had fun looking for and finding each cache as we made our way around the tracks. Thanks sorceysal.

Another legendary TDC (The Demolition Crew) night caching run with the crew being myself, Quasar3671, TrailRunning and RebelActs, which took us all over the place... Starting in the Eastern Suburbs and then headed out west as far as the Bacchus Marsh area, and even took in some more of the harder Werribee Gorge caches. A large bag of finds for the night, great company as usual, and lots of laughs and great stories. My thanks to all the CO's for their great hides, which as usual, made the night possible. Apologies for some generic logs, I will do my best to remember all the finds.
Went for nice night walk to these 5 caches in the series. Thanks for the entertainment on finding and walking to these caches.

The last The Demolition Crew night caching run for the year started in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne (as usual) and went all the way to the Melton / Bacchus Marsh area. Caching during the day and into the wee hours of the morning, the crew had a great laugh as we drove the roads and grabbed the caches. The highlight of the night was definately the high terrain caches in the area, which were attempted at night. I appologise to all the CO's for this generic log, but as I was away from a pc and internet for some time I have several hundred caches to log, and I cannot remember them all. My thanks to you for the cache placement.
This was, cache # 53 of 58 finds for the Day/Night on another big run for the TDC, once again we had lots of laughs, saw some great places and some excellent caches. A great night was had by all. No trouble on this one. My thanks to sorceysal for the cache.
I always thought it was bubble, bubble.... not rubble bubble, mudbrick found the cache... no eye of newt inside though. TNLN, thank you for the cache & walk sorceysal.
Coming back into civilisation now and a long linear park presented itself. Located the cache and walked to the road and noticed the track closure that I see Alansee mentions. No such sign at the other end.
Thanks sorceysal
Thanks sorceysal
This walk does not have closed signs from the suggested Robinsons Road entrance. Many people still walk or jog this track and it is in reasonable condition. As stated previously, do not attempt this track when the river is in flood. It is probably the best river walk in Bacchus Marsh.
Note. I was planning to do #2, 3 and 4 from the top end but there were two signs at the start stating that the path was closed! No reason, but it did give a phone number which I neglected to record.
Not wanting to give geocaching a bad name I went no further, and suggest that these caches may need to be taken off line. Unless of course there is another, legitimate, access.

Last for the day before retracing my steps. Another brave hide which needs to be carefully concealed to stop it disappearing. Tess has had a ball chasing rabbits and cooling off in the river. 'A dog's life' hey! Thanks again sorceysal for the series, will finish it off next time I'm at the golf club needing to fill in my calendar.
Well I have started the series in reverse...
Another easy find, and enjoyed the walk down the valley.
Cheers gordo
