I have made the decision to archive this cache and it will be collected later today as I am not happy that the location is suitable any more.
Thanks you to all the cachers that have found it and I hope to place a replacement cache when I next visit Golden Bay (hopefully next year).
In the meantime my challenge is still open and if any NZ cachers visit Hampshire England I would love to see you find and log any of my English caches.

The third and final day of our Labour weekend trip to Golden Bay. There was quite a bit of rain overnight and some drizzle early morning, but mainly it was fine during the day so the weather didn't really put much of a dampener on our trip (apart from long wet grass and mud at some locations).
After stopping off in Takaka for a cup of coffee, we headed to Pupu Springs. This cache was en route so stopped to look for it.
There were a lot of freedom campers nearby as well as whitebaiters trying their luck, an interesting area indeed. Unfortunately, there was toilet paper in the vicinity of GZ [xx(], one of the down sides of freedom camping. TFTC.

Disabling until I can get the area checked to make sure there is nothing nasty nearby after the last log.
#8487. Boosted by another great coffee at the café in the old theatre, we were ready for some more caches. We enjoyed out visit to the area, and were surprised at how many people there were here (a mixture of campervanners and whitebaiters; not sure how well the two groups get on). Shame there was what looked like toilet paper nearby; sad how often you see that in rest areas. TFTC.

Plenty of whitebaiters parked here this morning.
Found with ease once we discovered that we had parked on the wrong side of the bus.

Just had to do this one because of the name of the cache. Easy find but nearly got muggled putting it back. Luckily they didn't stay too long. Left a travel bug. Thank you for the cache.
Thanks for this cache. Our last one for today, was already a bit dark. TFTC
put a bigger rock on cache. we dont want it to float away next time the river flows through here. tftc
Sorry for the delay in getting this up and running again. My local 'maintenance team' have been to check it and have confirmed it is missing but they didn't take the new cache with them (not experienced geocachers) However she will be returning shortly to place one of the spares I left with her when I was last in NZ.
Didn't find anything today, going by the tide mark in the carpark, GZ has been under about 1/2 a metre of water after the tail end of cyclone Ita made its presence felt.
not a dead gc at all with all the bugs crawling on and around it. I found this one, let s see if I ever manage to find the other one
Quick find with KIWIH3.
Even tho there are facilities here, some freedom campers do not seem to want to use them.

Having driven over the Takaka Hill we wanted a place to park up for the night that wouldn't cost us anything and the lady at the i-Site in Motueka had told us about the Waitapu River Bridge area. Once parked I checked for any nearby caches and found this one was only 16 metres away! No muggles nearby at the time so I searched and quickly found it. Afraid we are very unlikely to ever visit Hampshire to find any of your other caches, but thanks for this one anyway, our first find of a cache set by a Brit .
A beautiful summer day and a great tour by bike from Takaka to Wharariki Beach and back. On the way some really nice caches like this one. Thank you so much!

On holiday from England visiting family in Golden Bay, seeing the sites and picking up a few caches.TFTC
A muggle car was parked beside the GZ so nearly drove off without getting out of the car. It was empty so had a quick find TFTC

A challenge to complete this early this morning given the muggles camping about 5m away but managed to complete the formalities unnoticed. TFTC, #6068
A blustery day at the beach and so we headed into takaka to enjoy the playground.
We stopped by the river on the way home, lobbed the obligatory stones into the river, and then located the cache.
One victim of the find was Junior Cacher #3's jandal - after climbing a pile of gravel left by the local council the left footed jandal disappeared deep into the gravel pile - never to be seen again

The parking area is being resurfaced so temporarily disabling until the work is complete.
Last night we were top tired to have a look for the cache, but today we found it directly in the morning. Really a nice place for wild camping.

I am dropping off a virtual TB which I retrieved at a CITO event in England.
The TB can be picked up virtually using tracking code GSG6CN and moved to another cache.

Just making a virtual visit to drop off a virtual trackable that was virtually dropped off already - - - but not quite.
After the last log it looks like this cache is okay to to found again. If anybody sees any problems at GZ please let me know.
Thought I'd check this one out as I was passing as there's been a lot of rain recently (and it was just starting again). Luckily no one in the motorhome parked directly in front. Seems ok to me now. TFTC #5143
Well I snuck round behind the trees as there's two campers parked in the front and made the find. Rather gross that someone has used the tree as a toilet as there's a toilet not even 100m away. Thanks
In view of the last log I am disabling the cache for now as I do not want to be taking people (especially children) here at the moment.
Stopped here for picnic lunch. Skirted around the camper-van and fossicked in the trees. Very interesting "leaf" shaped slug on the bottom of the container - see the pix.
Had planned to do this one a couple of times before but always vehicles down here,Today was nice and quiet.A quick find by Liquorboy.TFTC
Adventuring with my lovely nieces today. They scampered straight to this. Nice and quiet down here today. TFTC
Picked this up on the way to pupu, unfortunately pupu mostly closed for maintenance so the find made the trip worthwhile. Love the camo.
Day 3, Find no.5 . Family Holiday time!
With Mum back at base camp with an unwell B5, it was up to the boys to cache hunt today - and they didn't let the team down. Dad laid claim to conquering this cache.

I loved this one, great back-story & neatly hidden - especially given how populated this area gets!
Thanks for the fun

As part of our "round NZ in our motorhome" (5 years now), we are exploring this great part of the country. We often get asked, "which part of NZ is the nicest". Well, we say "the whole of it" and it is. Everywhere we go, its diffrent and just a beatiful as the last.Spent two nights here beside the river.
Our hearts sank when we saw a grader very close to GZ. Then we saw it was empty as was the rest of the area. So a quick park and find. We were going to add a something but the cache was too full for the trinkets we had with us to fit.
We had a lovely 2 days in the area, caching and walking in the sun. Thanks for contributing to the fun.
A lovely idea to find one of your Hampshire caches.. must buy a winning Lotto ticket.

In the area during our Easter break. A few people about but not near cache, Redants got the find. SL TFTC.
14 campers around this morning but we were up and doing before any on else, quick grab before we started our day. tftc
We drove past this 4 times recently, but someone had their motorhome parked right beside GZ so the chances of us not looking suspicious were pretty slim. Today there were no such problems and - - - in fact, there were no problems at all. TFTC
When the area was finally clear of muggles this was an easy find. The river was very clear and high due to the high tide. TFTC
A good spot for the cache and an easy grab away from the residents today. We have never been to England but must tick it off one day. TFTC.

Love this spot for alot of reason. Years ago Mr S and Mr A (before C, K, and J) camped here in a small tent for a romatic camp Thanks for bringing us back, kids enjoyed throwing some stones in the 'huge' river.
TFTC. Although there were a few cars about there were no muggles about so we could have a peaceful retrieval of this cache. I will revisit to have a closer look at the river.
Quick find, cache in very good condition.

Good idea to place the cache to foreign country which you like. I didn't plane to take this cache, but we were sleeping there. I found the cache before 7 am and I was like stealer, there was tent an car next to the cache. I think it's quite fequented place.
TB out.

A day trip to Golden Bay and a few caches to find along the way. For some reason this cache wasn't in my GPS. Luckily I had backup tech that worked a treat. I was here early in the morning and although there were campers around, no one was stirring and I was able make a discrete find before anyone even knew I was there. TFTC, Biggles.
Finally a random day off work and it was time to bite the bullet and do something for ourselves lol what better then a gentle caching trip - outdoors yay who cares what the weather will bring thanks for the cache a quick stop at spot we have parked before thanks for bringing us back here
It has been awhile with the xmas rush all on since we have been able to get out and cache and finally today we made a break for it!! It was a terrible night of wind and rain lastnight so we did not have high expectations for caching today but we are so glad we did . This was the first of our trail today catching up on some of the new caches placed since our last trip across the hill! Arrived in area of GZ to find several house busses all parked up but we were able to use our cachemobile as a shield so a quick grab was made. thanks for bringing us back to the area TFTC
I did not realise how busy this area would get, as it was very quiet when I placed the cache. I drove past today and there is another camper very close to GZ. Please leave the cache for another day if there is a likelihood of compromising it. I hope this will not be a continual problem and it is just a very busy time of year.
FTF on this one although was touch and go as at GZ was a Muggle in a camping car so stealth was required. Took 20p coin may be able tp use it if we go to the UK in Aug- Sept. Left Kiwi Coin.
