I teamed up with LoadedBases22 from California to complete this one and thank you very much to Tootsie22 for putting me in contact. A very blustery day today but found the cache signed our names replaced as found and continued on ... ******The way point for G in New Zealand has been removed (a tree), the number you are looking for there is 5. All the other waypoints are available and correct.******
Found with the help of Tootsie.22Took me a few days to find all the locations and to check my sums. Been wanting to do this one for a few years and have got motivated after the recent mega in Dunedin. tftc
I have teamed up with central otago hilton for the coords GC44F7A Friends (California, USA/ Central Otago, NZ) and will log that one when I go to visit next month. So glad to finally have a partner!
BryShaClay helped in the finding of this..
Today looks like it was the 10th anniversary of the first to find!!!
Nice day for a short climb to enjoy the views over Roxburgh
So a good day to sign the log book!

I have the coordinates to this cache if someone would like to trade with me for the California one, I would be grateful for the help! The local one here is nearby where I am staying.
We are on holiday from California, mostly traveling by campervan on the South Island. Today we are on our way from an overnight stay near Alexandra at a winery to Dunedin. Did this one a little differently than most — I got the coords in California and then came to New Zealand to get the cache. Actually planned to come 2.5 years ago, but that didn’t work out! Once we got to the right level, it was a short search. Thanks both to the CO and those who have kept this on going. Gets a favorite for the concept, and the excuse to come to New Zealand again!
Did the leg work for this a few months ago and was lucky a group of cachers were doing the same in the US of A. Teamed up with GoGoJo to swap the information and finally back in Roxburgh to find and sign the cache. Easy find with nice views. Cache all good.
Thanks for the assistance GoGoJo and thanks for the cache, Onslow Fisherman

I enjoy these types of caches. Today I signed the cache for Catomcat and myself. Thanks to the CO's and to Joy for all the help in making this possible.
What great fun this one was! Catomcat and I were looking to do more caching than we've done in the recent past and dBASED offered to meet up with us down here in Pacific Grove. He had a previous DNF but had already figured out what his mistake was but thought it would be fun if we all found the cache together. Catomcat and I paired up with Hal2929 and Wilbywarrior, they had the New Zealand coordinates we needed for today. I loved looking at all the murals and especially the butterfly house. By the way, I think one or more butterflies are missing on the house, just my two cents. In any case, this was one fantastic cache and it gets a favorite point from me!! Nicely done.
Gathered the coordinates for California today. Looking to swap with someone who has completed the same at the USA end.
Thanks to Onslow Fisherman for the friends cache and also to my new American geocaching friend Allicat451 for providing the co-ordinates at my end.
Swapped cords back in January but took until today to get back up here to find and log the cache. Hal 2929 was with me today so if any one in the USA is wanting to swop cords I am sure he would be pleased to hear from you.
Fav point from me

Hello NZ! I'm in California and planning on getting the NZ coordinates tomorrow! Let me know if anyone has some cords to swap!
=^. .^=
=^. .^=
Thanks Werdave for sharing the coords for this one. What an interesting place for the final. Thought I had explored Roxburgh quite well but never saw this. Thanks.
Have had a few goes at this over time, but finally managed to get what was needed and make the find today.
Anyone in or around California wanting to trade coordinates for this cache. I will be over this way the next couple of days and hope to pick up the NZ Co ordinates to swap
Love these type of caches and looking forward to hopefully completing another one

"MyBetterHalf" and I traded coordinates with "wombats_4" and "TDronsfield" earlier in the month. In the area again today for a Thanksgiving Camping get together. We wandered over to GZ and at first we weren't sure we were in the right place. Just started to look and noticed a suspicious "pile" right away. Bingo! We SL RAF Thanks to our New Zealand friends.
With the help from our friends in NZ, TDronsfield and Wombats_4 we were able to get the Coords for the California end of this cache. My Budz and I came to GZ, SL with our "Team" Stamp, RAF. Thank you Onslow Fisherman for a fun morning, and TFTC
Cache 422 Wombats4 and I worked on the waypoints of this cache on the way up to Cromwell, we collected the answers for all 10 way points which gave us coordinates for a cache in California. We then each messaged an American geocacher that had solved the Californian side of the puzzle I messaged BUDZDUNWERKIN and within an hour I had a reply with the final for the kiwi side of the cache which we decided to collect today on the way home. BUDZDUNWERKIN is going to collect his cache later in the month he hopes . Was a good trek up to GZ for the final but was easily found and signed ️ There was a lot of effort going into putting this puzzle together earning it a fave point 2 Rock bugs added to cache T4TP ️
On my trip up to Central previously I had started to work on the waypoints for this cache but time didn't allow for my complete attention, so I left it for another trip.
On a return roadie today, up to Central from Invercargill (the alternate way, a change for TD) testing the newly acquired van with great company and plenty of chats I decided it would be great to have an accomplice (2 heads better than one!). We sorted the coordinates for the Californian cache on the way up, contacted the American counterpart, mine which was 'MyBetterHalf' and Tanias which was 'Budzdunwerkin'
We had received the answers that night so on the return trip we stopped to find our final.
Funny that the pair we contacted are a married couple!!!, who will try to pick up their cache later in the month.
Really enjoyed this type of cache and communicating to cachers on the other side of the world. I suppose the difference at the moment is that they are going through a lot more Covid strife than we are, such a terrible time, good to be able to go geocaching to ease the pain.

Many thanks to atc for sending me solution for NZ part of this international cache. I found cache today after short day in job, before heavy rain. I felt very happy - a girl from Czech Republic living in NZ who found a person from USA to help each other - awesome connection!
With the help of our New Zealand friends haydn.seek and kiwicouple we were able to complete this one. This was a really fun idea for a cache and it's nice to have new friends in another country. Thanks coralteach and Onslow Fisherman for the fun cache and for being part of our adventure today! Definitely gets a favorite point from us !
Hi there, I might be in Monterey in about a week in which case I could get the coordinates for someone in NZ if they want to partner. Please let me know by sending me a message. I have actually geocached in New Zealand btw so this would be very special for me! Thanks, ladodger1
It was with a great deal of pleasure that i am finally able to log this with the help of my daughter and 12year old grandson See photos. and contact with Toycruiser in USA to get the final co ords. As i have nearly all geo cachers in Roxburgh this has been outstanding for a long long time!.. Yesterday at GZ was very cold although only Autumn as there was snow on the surrounding hills and it was raining in the afternoon so signing the log meant it got a little wet.
thanks for the memory of Onslow Fisherman who put so many caches around this area and are now maintained by friends esp Lions v lambs.

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
Travelling and caching through Roxburgh and Alexandra today on our way to Queenstown.
Yesterday afternoon we visited the waypoints for this cache, collecting the information we needed for the California cache. We had seen the note from toycruiser, so contacted them to see if they wanted to partner up with us. They gave us a very speedy reply so we were able to travel back to Roxburgh from Alexandra to make the find of the Final. An interesting location for the cache, thanks. And thankyou very much for your help, toycruiser.

Hello from California. We are looking for someone to help us with the coordinates to the California cache. We have the coordinates for the New Zealand side and would like to trade with someone for the California side. Please contact us. We look forward to hearing from someone soon .
I will be going to Pacific Grove this weekend (November 14 - 15 2019) If anyone sees this and wants to partner up let me know asap
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 5 of our extended Easter break in Central Otago. Today we are travelling south to Roxburgh, via Roxburgh village and Roxburgh East Rd, then back to Clyde again via SH8.
I had added a note to the northern cache page back in early April, stating we'd be here later in the month, but have had zero response. Since I couldn't find a northern friend, instead I called on a southern friend for help, and received it - thank you, friend.
Loved the location of the final. Took the TB. TFTC.

#16993. Troodles found a friend to get the info off, and today we stopped by to find the cache. It's in a nice spot with good views. TFTC.
Stopped by to check if anything needed tidied up, cache is in place, snug and dry. Found one of Jim's TB's had been left there but not placed online, thought it was appropriate to leave with the cache. Happy caching all
Had this one sitting there waiting and with the recent reply from our new friends The GB's we could finally move forward and find the cache. Today we had to travel to Queenstown so thought why not... so around the mountain we went and to collect this was the cherry on the top. Thanks to OF for the placement and to those helping to keep this dear man's caches alive. Another great Onslow Fisherman cache.
Woot woot Congratulations - your solution is correct!!! Yippee I finally got an affirmative solution from the NZ puzzle checker; waited and waited for responses and a little improv posting on some 'local' walls. Attracted a partner and collaborated a solution to gaining a smilie on the last Roxburgh cache, yeah! Thankyou [Seasquirrel3](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Seasquirrel3) for joining hands abroad to nail the smilies.
Since the passing of our friend, Onslow Fisherman, many local cacheri/owners had rallied to maintain his caches in the Fruitlands and Otago for TLC and replacement, yes - there were a quite a few missing including the ones I replaced on my recent hunting trips. A few cause célèbre get checked on regularly. The cache was found once the coast was clear. Great cache was soon in hand and SL with the requisite monikers added from California. Returned with it's camo in place, not visible.
*Many thanks to Coralteach for your patience and assistance on one number in return for some light relief and distraction from the ongoing freakish comedy back home. Thanks for the cache Jim, this one will last a little longer with good carers. Dday LVL.*

Found the big pot after finding a partner to log this cache. Added [Lupine4](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=lupine4)' s name to the logbook. While the Roxburgh caches get found regularly, this was one puzzle that took the longest to log due to the Californian requirements. Hopefully after the US micro cache gets maintained, more interest in solving the puzzles will lead to more finds logged. The Roxburgh cache has good carers checking in occasionally. Thanks for the smilie Onslow Fisherman, we enjoyed our visits working this one out over the year.
In California and would like to team up from someone from NZ. Anyone want/need a partner ?
After enjoying lunch and the autumn sunshine at Roxburgh (on our way to Wanaka for a post-Easter holiday) we made a wee detour to check on the final cache. All in good order, where it should be and nice and dry. Canadian TB [Paua Dolphin](https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=3857485) visited.
I have the co-ordinates for the US cache if anyone would like to swap for the co-ordinates for the New Zealand cache.
Would anyone in NZ like to pair up to find the coords? I have a half of the Monterey puzzle collected but need a friend on the other side before I go to find the rest of it!
What a mission this cache turned out to be. After responding to my American partner's offer of help with this cache by sending over the Californian coords a message was received back thanking me, stating that they had found the USA cache and that they would be visiting the murals to advise me of this cache's coords. As I was staying in Roxburgh for just 3 days it was sort of imperitive that I receive the coords before I left Roxburgh. The next day I received the coords but unfortunately there were 3 errors in their Longitude answers. One error I immediately recognised, but the other two then unknown ones meant I was fated to leave Roxburgh without finding the cache. The American partner was advised that I had been experiencing difficulty and I was informed that for the moment both she and the CO of the American partner cache were unable to help any further but that they would work on trying to solve the problem. *(The American CO must surely have known the coords for he/she was the one that composed the questions to produce the coordinate numbers)*
In desperation, I went to visit this cache's CO, but was informed by a neighbour that he had left Roxburgh two years ago. Emails were then sent to off to the CO and 3 of the recent finders stating my problem in the hope that one would reply before I left Roxburgh in about 14 hours. One finder did respond with the correct Longitude and so I managed to find the cache right at dusk tonight. Phew! I am glad that I can put this cache to bed.

Hi, I am looking for a California buddy who either has or will get the data for the NZ end of the Friends caches. I will be visiting Roxburgh in mid-February and have marked down on my 'to do' caches list, the task of getting the data for the California cache (GC44F7A).
Regards, Eddie (aka BaldEd)

Hi,
We are looking for a buddy in NZ to team up with. We are visiting Monterey in a few weeks and will be happy to pass along the answers found there for the NZ cache if anyone wants to send us the Roxburgh info.

What a great weekend getaway with the boys! We headed to Queenstown/Glenorchy for a maintenance run, and found a few caches on the way.
And finally I got a chance to find this one too! Swapped coords with fox51 over a year ago, but did not get a chance to search for the cache until now - always something else happening when I was in the area! Great to find it, and what an awesome hiding spot!! TFTC and a great excuse to make new friends!!

I've found this cache in an unorthodox manner, but coralteach--who told me about it in the first place, thus whetting my appetite--said it was okay to log it if I found it. I live in the California portion of this wonderful idea for a geocache partnership, and set about solving that puzzle before my husband and I headed to NZ on a five-week holiday. Today we were traveling from Te Anau to Queenstown and took the roundabout way via Roxburgh. What a nice little town! LOVE the sculptures in the park (the stainless rabbit and the depiction of local history), all the beautiful roses, and the interesting geology. We also set about finding the coordinates for the Pacific Grove (or nearby) cache back in California, so we'll have that to look for when we get home. In the meantime, I've at least had email contact with Onslow Fisherman--timing didn't allow a face-to-face--so that counts as "friendship" in a way. Anyway, delighted to have found this cache! TFTH.
found with annevoi. Thanks for the tour de Roxburgh, and a very fun cache. Hope we find the one back in CA... TFTC!
Set out on a drizzly day from Dunedin, with DebsNZ and Aoraki Sheep to round up a few down Central way.
Once through the Manuka Gorge the weather improved dramatically and it was sun all the way.
We had the numbers for this end safely stored in multiple GPSrs and once in the area set off to find the numbers for our Californian friends.
Found most of them with ease, but the sign for 'C' seems to be missing, the NZ CO has been informed.
A quick tiki tour around town soon had the job done and so it was off for the smiley at this end. A quick jog from the main drag had it in hand quick smart.
A great idea for intercontinental Geocaching co-operation.
Have a tick.

Great idea for a cache We enjoyed 'meeting' our USA friend and swapping co-ords. We did find this one with Woody104 (made the 2 hour trip each way more enjoyable and cheaper with a friend) but swapped co-ords with different US partners to ensure that we all played our part. Left the rain at Dunedin and enjoyed a sunny winters day at Roxburgh gathering a number of other caches in the area at the same time.
A sunny winters day is a great time to visit Roxburgh. Visited the waypoints to gather the required info. and we learnt that Roxburgh is actually a lot bigger, with more to see than we first thought. Sadly one piece of info. was impossible to collect as the sign is missing but all other numbers were easily found. Thanks for taking us on a tiki tour around Roxburgh and thanks for this cache! Found with Woody104 and debsnz
Hi New Zealanders,
I have your needed coordinates, and it looks like a mighty beautiful place to go for a walk! All you have to do is come here to RoxBurgh and find the answers to the questions in this cache, and send them to me (in California), and I'll send your coords right back! Thanks!

We'll be visiting Monterey California at the end of May and would love to team up with another cacher to do this cache. We've done one of these before between our hometown in Colorado and a cacher in France. We're excited to get to do another one!!
Hi from Morgan Hill California...just up the coast a bit from Pacific Grove and the Friendship partner cache. There are 3 of us doing the footwork on the California part. We would like to connect up with New Zealand counterparts. Please contact me if you are interested. I'll have the guys post their own notes too. Thanks!
Hi New Zealanders!
I'll be finding the NZ answers in Monterey on Sunday March 16 in case any new person wants to find the california coords and trade anytime after this weekend. ... wow, looking at Roxburgh in Google Earth sure makes me want to visit.
Thanks!

A quick easy find with the coordinates provided for us by w00fel of the U.S.A. at an interesting location we have not previously visited. TFTC
What a neat idea for a cache, well done OF and coralteach! Collected the waypoints the last time we were passing through Roxburgh, and with the help of JMunch received the final coords. Also got some good tips on electronic cache maintenance and developed a craving to visit Monterey to find out "Are you A Real Geocacher?" http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3QQMM_are-you-a-real-geocacher
Stopped on Friday evening on our way to Cromwell and found the final in an appropriate and scenic spot. Cache in good condition.

I found the Monterey half of this cache with the help of Manana4us. Thanks for the help! This was a fun concept for a geocache.
I have the coordinates to the geocache in Central Otago. If any has the coordinates to the geocache in Monterey, I would like to swap coordinates with you. Thanks, C Major.
Finally got back to Monterey to use the CA coords provided by Bitsprayer (more than a month ago!). Well, FTF and STF were long gone, anyways If I ever get to NZ, I'll look y'all up.
Thanks for the Trans-Pacific adventure.
Thanks for the Trans-Pacific adventure.
Had fun doing this one. Swapped coords with crossbow109 (thanks). I love climbing rocks so I thought this one was awesome. TFTC
Finally a day where none of the cachelets were involved in their school holiday social activities (and they are many) and we were able to get to Roxburgh and find the coords for Golfer01 who had earlier in the week sent us the Roxburgh coords. Thanks to the CO for the hiccup cure. We had always thought this would have been a great place for a cache on our next visit through Roxburgh. A great cache for our 1000th.
I've got the coordinates and I'm ready to go. Any cachers in New Zealand ready with California coordinates?
This is a great concept for a cache. I remember sitting in the CO's lounge a few days before publishing as he showed me the concept that he and Coralteach had submitted. Unfortunately he didn't give anything away.
After publishing I joined forces with manahoonie and we set about getting our respective coordinates. Unfortunately work got in the way at this end which meant I had to wait before making the journey to Roxburgh to fullfil my end.
Manahoonie was much more on the ball and managed to get around his waypoints and sent through the Roxburgh final coordinates late on Wednesday NZ time.
Even though the race for the FTF's was over I headed off to Roxburgh after work today and quicly got around the waypoints. Fat fingers on the smartphone meant there was an anxious moment as the red cross appeared instead of the green tick. A quick check and the confirmed coordinates were sent across the Pacific.
After that it was a short uphill walk and a quick find.
Thanks to Onslow Fisherman and Coralteach for what is an exceptional couple of caches. Thanks also to manahoonie for your help.
Maraming Salamat!!

*FTF* Mission successfully completed with greatful thanks of US partner mimring. Fortunately was intending travelling in the area on a caching trip down to Invercargil at the weekend and paired up with mimring the evening before departure. Coordinated from US came though as we were onroute through the Manitoto. Gathered up the Roxburgh numbers after a very interesting tour around the township and eventually scored the green tick. A great cache well worth a fav point. Many thanks to the CO's for putting together such a great concept. Good luck mimring of your quest for the "double". TFTC
Found with the help of Hotshoe, but only got 2nd to find, beating by 10m, it was just luck that we planed to come this way today, as the cache is a 3 half hour drive from home, and only added 300km to the trip down and we were heading down to the deep South for event, had a few problems with internet connection along the way, but hopefully Hotshoe should have the number's for there side now.
Now we will have to wait and see who gets to the other one first.
Many Thanks for the fun cache Bitsprayer

Many Thanks for the fun cache Bitsprayer
I am also looking for partner to complete this "Friends" cache. I won't have a chance to complete my part of the puzzle until at least this weekend. Anyone game?
I've been emailed by 3 different American cachers to pair up for this.... and read the instructions RE pairing up with only one cacher - if thats the case manahoonie emailed first. If he manages to find someone else to pair with before then, then I'll go to the next emailer, etc....
I'm about 1.5 hours south of Roxburgh, but have been known to FTF Onslows caches in the past. Always enjoy his caches! Unfortunately its going to be a week and a half before I can get up that way (am hosting 2 events on Sat and have orienteering on Sun this weekend!), so FTF honours may get snafued by someone else!
Would love to FTF this one, but Jim - bad timing! See you on Saturday (and I may have to soften you up with a drink to bribe some answers out of you!)

A smart American might pester a 'bitsprayer' who is likely to be passing through the region, and has a habit of hoovering up all caches in his path. He may well be a good candidate for an early retrieval of American coords.
I'm a geocacher in Monterey California looking for a partner to work on this one with. I have to work the next few days so I won't be able to solve the puzzle at this end until the weekend. If you're interested send me an Email.
Me first - I'll be in Pacific Grove in the morning and plan to do the mural tour and solve the puzzle from the CA side. Desire a NZ cacher to contact for the solution from their side ...
Hey, it's already mid-afternoon in NZ. Hope you're enjoying your art tour in Central Otago!

Occasional California cacher, male, permanently looking, slightly overweight but still active, seeks companion to share long stories of failed finds and possible cross-continental collaboration. TFTC (Thanks for the Consideration)
