Logs
Gumboots diffinately in order during the wet seasons.
I always get a buzz visiting new places in my hometown.
Thanks CO, your efforts have stood the test of time.
Well worth a favourite point for engineering.
A nice quick find, just a quick wander from the Celebration event. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Up to Northland for a few days, cruised to Whangarei Heads and back via a Celebration Event in Onerahi. Another great day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

While at the last of 2022 event, we were under instructions from the CO to go get this! A brilliantly engineered path impressed me, even before we reached the fun GZ. Thanks tikitour.
Back in January 2018 I found GC46 down in Wellington, and about the same time became aware of the challenge cache GC325CX requiring the logging of the top 10 oldest caches in the North Island. Since then I have been slowly working my way towards completing this challenge, and as of April this year I was down to just one more cache required. My trip to Whangarei this weekend was all about finding GC366 to complete this challenge. Obviously I was gonna find some other caches while I was here, and this was one of them.
A new day and more caches to find. The plan this morning is the loop of tracks down here. Obviously not part of the main track system, but having finished all those I made my way to this one too for a looksy. Did get muddy shoes along the way, but not bad. A very well made cache, suits the location well.
Thanks to tikitour for placing this cache here.

Very cool cache. I would never have visited this spot otherwise. Took a little bit of searching around but found it in the end with great joy!
Found it - what a great walkway and spot. Unfortunately the only thing I found where the cache was suppose to be was an ants nest.
Walking around Onerahi to collect a few more caches. As we walked along the grass we were discussing weather to get it if the track was muddy but were amazed at the track, s lot of effort has gone into it. We actually kayaked past this place a few months ago.
Had a quick look and spotted the hidey hole. Fav point from me.
Thanks for the cache

Very high tide so wet feet! Nicely disguised! Lucky for me I'd seen something similar about a week ago, so had an inkling about where to look. Thanks!
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Nice walk and area fairly dry to cache.
We spent quite a while finding this well hidden cache - it was in the last possible place in the whole area!! Thanks for the fun tikitour*

Last day of Labour weekend holiday with Merlot58. We followed the cache page instructions and were soon at gz. Cache was soon located. Scared off some cockroaches as we extracted the log
Spending the long weekend in the area with Jag50. Once we read the description and knew where to find the entrance, we followed the instructions and found the cache which had a couple of cockroach guardians
What a lovely peaceful walk and beautiful surroundings and spot. My kids want to come back tomorrow for a swim. Great hiding spot... thank you.
Out this late afternoon for a quick cache hunt on our way to buy a few things from Bunnings for jobs around the house. This cache has been on our To do list for awhile so we thought today would be time to mark it off the list.
It was a pleasant walk along side the Mangroves in what must be another of the hidden park/reserves in Whangarei until we got to the well defined track that headed out into the mangrove forest. After a short walk we came to GZ, without our kayaks we would be able to go no further anyway, so after a quick hunt Liz discovered the great hide. The cockroach guards did unsettle her a bit but showing great bravery she plucked the cache container from its hide. TFTC and a favourite from us.

Took a little bit to find the path through the mangroves - just used the GPS and passed leisurely by the local kids playing. Think they were a bit confused as to the 6 kids in tow as well!! Nice place. Looks like it took a little work to get it created. Signed log and dropped TB.
A most brilliant cache!
Takes a little effort to find the grassy path....opposite number 29....but all good after that!
So glad I still have gumboots on from morning mudflats adventure ...
Bet you get awesome sunsets on your jetty!
Love the path you guys made!
Definitely deserves a Fave Point!

Popped out to the COs house to get fejoias and wondered if there might be a cache nearby. Low and behold just down the path. We were treated with a lovely sunset as well as a well camouflaged cache. Tftc a favourite point from me.
Out in Onerahi I thought I would pick this cache up. After a nice short walk to GZ the very well concealed cache was found. Great camo and a beautiful place that I never knew existed. FP for sure. Thank's for the cache.
Out on the bike to Onerahi tonight to try for a few caches. Never been down to the mangroves here before, so was interesting to see this little trail out to the semi wharf. Even saw a few herring cruising in the little channel. Parked the bike right at GZ, before actually noticing the clever hide.

It took quite a while to locate the entrance to this one.. the grassy part is across the road from no29 . not next to it
Very cool hide. Nice little walk down there

A fitting (and surprising!) end to my caching tour of the Northland. This was a great introduction to NZ, the culture, the beauty and the hospitality! I can't thank you enough, both for the lovely crash course in your country, but also for the cache!
The tide was out but it was a still bit of a wet walk to GZ. It was very wet up North yesterday with heavy showers and luckily for us today just light showers. We're down in the big smoke caching our hearts out - making the most of a plentiful supply of caches in this area. A very clever cache but quickly spotted, thanks
one of our favourite places to go!! We got our feet a bit wet today with the big king tide but a great find
Really cool good ole classic caching! Discovered an interesting spot I never would have otherwise, and a clever crafty camo. faved. Would have left a geocoin meant for faves but it was too big to fit.TFTC!
This was a great cache to do in gumboots, after yesterday's heavy rain there was quite a lot of water on the ground. Loved the cache hiding place. Cheers
We enjoyed the little mangrove walk, and it was nice to meet Mr Tiki Tour. A clever hide. TFTC
This was the cache of the day for me. Thanks for putting so much thought into the site / position.
We enjoyed our Walk through the Mangroves, cool camo, nicely done, found with Yeetrees, TFTC.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
I was visiting the CO this afternoon, so got a guided tour of the Mangrove walk. I then had a look for the cache and soon discovered the nicely hidden container! A nice hide and a nice spot - favourite point added! TFTC!

8.30am. Track was a bit wet and sticky after the rain. Most unusual track deserving of a favourite point. Nice hide too. Quick find.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Checking the cache...all good and ready to go. TB visit for some newly activated TB's - MEGA geocoins ans geotikis. Setting them off on their travels.
(617) Finally had a chance to get back to this one now its been restored. I love the camo. Thanks Tikitour for the cache.
I intend to get the cache back up and going. Just trying to find the right container. Thanks
Well the muggle vandals have been at it again and the cache has been destroyed. Will put our thinking caps on and try to set up something more muggle proof.
Have been looking everywhere for suitable replacement and finally today with the help of flowernz's sister booklovernz I have found one. Everything has been fixed up and cache ready to be found again. Fingers crossed we don't get muggle destroyers any time soon.
Down the mangrove walk to check on cache today and discovered some one has well and truly muggled it. Cache container gone and the hiding place exposed. Had seen some kids there on the weekend who obviously had a bit of a time destroying...not just the cache. Why ????
Will need to sort a new container and some repair work....my apologies to the cacher we saw ??? before I had a chance to log on.

Have been anxious to find this cache since I first heard about it from the CO, my sister - tikitour. She has been putting a few out lately and having just arrived for a visit I needed to get out and start with this one. Looking at the previous logs I was expecting a clever hide, so accompanied by CO & Mr. tikitour I headed down the mangrove walk (which I have seen grow over the years) to see just how clever this cache was, yes it is a clever hide...I am impressed, well done =) nice spot too. Fav point from me.
Interesting wee walk along a tad slippery track after the tide had gone out. Really enjoyed the camo here as I sat awhile and signed the log on such a cute seat supplied by co thanks.
We were intriqued by the logs on this one and decided we had to come and check it out. Made our way out along the community pathway, and on reaching GZ soon spotted something of interest. Very nicely done. Adding our favourite point to the tally. Thanks.

Having had this cache recommended to us by Riser5, who was very tight lipped, other than it was well worth completing, we decided it was a must before we left the area. Parked at directed area and commenced a short walk to GZ, managed to overshoot the track, probably too busy looking at the dog that had come out to greet us - and advise on where to go!
Soon we were heading in the right direction after a friendly wave to the cache owners who were watching on - nothing like finding a cache under pressure!!.
Without giving too much away, we thoroughly enjoyed the cache hide. Nice to meet Mr Tikitour. As he had mentioned them, we headed off to complete the Tiger Road series! TFTC

CLEVER hide. FAV from me. Waved to Tikitour, but perhaps she is on holiday too!
Thanks mr tt for the escort while tt and the others all watched from the deck!! Great little hide - inside knowledge and previous discussions made this a fairly quick find - and thanks for the 'signing seat' too
Oh - thanks for yummy dinner and great evening Cheers mate!

Nice cache.Found with butters* and cartman82 owners where watching us the whole time tftc.
Nicely done, workmate used to own a place a few houses down from here so remember the area well.TFTC.
A pleasant walk and a cunning wee cache, had to pause and think. Met the owner(s) for a chat.
FTF, thank you very much. Love the cache, nice hide. Woke up at 6.15 and had to check my emails. Hey there's a cache that isn't mine.
Got ready and headed down after a small while.
Got to where I thought GZ was but I had gone too far. If you go right to the end to find the path it isn't the right one. Just past the Burn pile you should find the entrance.
Had a quick catch up with one of the CO while nearby. Thanks for the cache.
