Looked in all places we could find where a cache could possibly be embedded but after recent logs we figured it hasn't been maintained and is possibly gone.
Met up with paraonegirl and k-adventure for breakfast in Devonport and some caching. We were targeting different caches today so I split off from the others to find the few caches in the area that I hadn't yet found. A nice walk up to GZ. Spent quite a while searching here with no muggles around, but I couldn't locate the cache.
Geocaching Saturday in Devonport .. Will never visit this place if no geocaching. Thanks for bringing me here!
Having set myself a personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months. So heading up to collect a few caches around Devonport area nice and early meant leaving not to early, 5am and home by 2pm, so managed to avoid most of the peninsula traffic that is an absolute nightmare.
Great collection of caches and hides to be had, and ever grateful for the toolbox of magic tricks in the boot of the Geowagon that enabled me to collect a number of the more interesting caches. So all in all 41 successful finds today. All caches today signed "CD" to save log space.
The place was all quiet, a short walk from my dodgy parking location and the cache was in hand and the sun was starting to come out
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

It was a nice walk here on a sunny morning and the cache was quickly found but I had to wait for a dog walking muggle to pass by before I could return it
A walk up the scoria steps was nice. Haven't been here before. Nice view too. Cache quite exposed but it seems to fit in nicely.
It was actually quite nice to have a little sit down as by now we'd walked most of Devonport and it was a hot day. Very quick find but as Gernita said no logbook. We considered signing a leaf but then decided that was a stupid idea and just took a photo
A nice quick find, found the cache but the log was missing and we had no paper! Will send photo proof to CO. TFTC
Hooray. After 2 failed attempts at other caches and wondering if things were different in NZ and I'd never find one I got it! Lovely little spot. Thanks
I awoke early today, and decided to go geocaching on my new bike while waiting for the family to be ready to get out of bed. Seven finds (and 3 more or less painful dnfs) was the result.
A nice trip in the nice weather, some exercise and some getting used to the bicycle
A great start of the day.
Tftc!

Out and about in Devonport with Vamber, Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra today. Vamber had finished so we kept on to get the last few caches. The camo lid has come off but its still not too badly hidden, Looked around for the camo but couldn't see it. Signed log and headed back down to the car, thanks
We enjoyed following this very pleasant walkway to GZ and it was nice to have it all to ourselves today.
We were fortunate to spot the well concealed and securely placed container in the first spot we checked. Once the log was signed and safely returned we finished walking around the park and briefly considered climbing up Mount Victoria to look for the cache up there but our rumbling stomachs made us more motivated to find some food, so we headed off to get some lunch instead. But we'll be back sometime soon, with full stomachs next time.
TFTC.

Out geocaching on a nice sunny day. Great park with nice view from here. Log hard to get out without TOTT. Nice hide. Thanks G-2
I was sufficiently curious I dug out a picture of the mountain before it was quarried away.

We live over in Three Kings where the scoria cones have largely ended up under our feet and in our walls like this one. I see this was named at one point Mt Heaphy after Charles Heaphy, by Hochstetter - must have been before they had their falling out over their findings mapping Auckland's volcanic cones.
Today we got a respite from the rain and scooted down the path to the final. Spied the final quite quickly and had no problems extracting the log and signing it. Nice handiwork here G--2. All sorted, and back to the car before the rain returns. Thanks for the cache.

I had a few hours to spare before I had to head to the airport and home so I decided to head over the bridge and do some caching in and around Devonport. The forecast wasn't great but the weather was actually very pleasant and the rain held off until after I was all done for the day. Well that is an interesting park. The old pathways are very cool with interesting features to notice along the way. Some have seen better days but mainly in good condition. Found the clever cache OK too. My last cache for today. Time to head to the airport and home. TFTC, Biggles.
Our last day out and about in Devonport taking in the sites. Geocaching is great for that! . We have loved our time here and will be back one day.
This was a great hide which gets a favourite from us.
This was a great hide which gets a favourite from us.
An easy find for our second cache of the night. We decided that this cache needs to be marked as BYOT - ie bring your own tweezers as the pencil was difficult to get out. However, with the assistance of the First Aid kid - a useful anti-muggle scam - we were able to get the pencil out and sign the log.
After finding the other cache in the park, I carried on around exploring this neat area. I had the place to my self, and an hour until it gets dark. Cache was easily found and logged, cheers
We spend our day in Devonport and enjoyed beautiful views and amazing weather. This town it great and we took the opportunity to look for some caches arround here.
Thanks for hiding this one!
Thanks for hiding this one!
Time for another Devonport visit to collect a few more G--2 caches. There is more of a hill here than you realise from just driving past. We explored a few of these old pathways, and discovered this cache.
I loved exploring this park on the nice little paths. Once I came to GZ, I spotted the cache right away and was able to sign the log. The cache is almost full of water. A few more drops and this will qualify for a SCUBA cache. I would have emptied it out, but, you know... TFTC.
Cache in hand several seconds after arrival nice to have a rest after the small climb tftc
SisterCorny travelling Asia and Oceania for four month, now in New Zealand.
Our todays sightseeing trip brought us o Devonport, where we had a lovely walk and found some nice caches.
What a nice hidden spot in this hidden park... Took some time to find the box even though the camo is a bit broken. Thanks for bringing us up here!
(as stated before, box is pretty wet...)

Unfortunately cache full of water and due to the way it is positioned we could not dry it out.
A nice spot. Unfortunately the cache was full of water but due to the fancy paper we could still sign. Tftc
Out in the Devonport area today converting some little green boxes into smilie faces. TFTC.
Fond it fairly quickly last weekend in the pouring rain. Pen didn't want to work in the rain! Nice little spot.
Quick find without hint by wow what a lovely spot. Never would have come here if it wasn't for the cache! TFTC
Glad for a quick find at this one after the struggle on previous. some of camo has come off and bottle is a bit exposed. Having a rest on the seat here before we continue on. Log signed as b+p. Find # 3112. Thanks for the cache G-2
#94. #16 @ Auckland. Really nice park and very quiet. Hit the GZ no problem, nice view and using the hint soon had CIH. TFTC
Lovely evening! After failing at the wharf we decided to try one more cache and came up trumps. Swapped some Canadian flags for a mustang...
Yes, also mountains can be recycled. This was nice and quiet park really worth visiting.
TFTC, greetings from Finland!

#10705. It was well worth a visit to this reserve; we enjoyed exploring it. TFTC.
After a leisurely morning coffee, we headed out to explore Devonport, though it took us a few hours to get there as we had a bit of caching to do en route.
A lovely wee hidden reserve, and we enjoyed our short walk around it while we made our way slowly to GZ. Fantastic rock walls, what a lot of skill has gone in to creating the hard landscapes. Looked like part of the gardens was once a quarry, so wonder if this is where the rocks came from?
Nice viewpoint from GZ too. StreetWalker quickly found the cache, the camo is not quite as good as it once was so that made it easy. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

Mr P and I were not having the best of caching days in Devonport - so very happy to find one. T4tc
Another early morning to try and beat the heat with Vistra, get as many done as possible in the cooler morning of the day. Quickly got to GZ and soon had the cache in hand

We too took the wrong stair case but we learned and found the right way up to the GZ .What a lovely spot.We took some pics and OGG and I gingerly made our way down the lava staircase. Thanks for the cache.
As Greyowl said, we found the right area in a round about fashion. Love the camouflaging. Really worked well in the area. It was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view and the quiet for a bit. We had been to the museum earlier in the week and did not even notice the garden and walks through here. Mind you it was cold and rainy that day so a walk might not have been so appealing. This is one of the things I like about geocaching ... it takes you to places you just don't notice in your busy daily life. So many places one could just walk by and never know their significance! Thanks for teaching us so much about significant places and people around Devonport.
what a hidden gem of a park. We loved the history and the lay out as we wandered around. Great views to be had from several vantage points. Secured the cache quickly , initially unaware an elderly neighbour watched us from his kitchen window. When eye contact made he gave us a wave and friendly smile- he obviously had inside knowledge as to what we were doing! TFTC - gets a fav. for bringing us here.
Really had to work to find how to get into this one. Went up and down the street before realizing that I had to enter through the Museum. Then made the approach to within 18 meters but up the wrong set of stairs. Found the other route and made the grab easily. Nice view. Great camo. Thanks for the fun!!! Greetings from the USA.
Out walking around Devonport and Stanley Pt today and made our way to this GZ. Made a nice quick find and then enjoyed a "new" view of Mt Vic (never having been to this park before). Also loved the houses we passed on our way here. TFTC.
And the camo was great. Thanks G-2, always appreciate your camo skills

I was in the area and decided to collect some caches. After doing four DNF's in a row, a was relieved to have finally found one! This was a cool park and an excellent camo. TFTC!
Took the hard route on this one. Figured that there must be an easy way as we had the wrong seat lol phew lucky we came to our geosensesand knew thisis not a 5 terrain lol. Found GZ and what an awesome camo. Well done CO very pleased with this find. Very cool find.
Great camo, need skinny fingers to retrieve the pencil though so best to byo pencil.
Before retunring tzo Germany tomorrow after six weeks here (working and some vacation) I went
to this nice park which I already had visited six years ago.
On GZ I needed some time to ounderstand that this IS the cache .... reading the description once again did
helpp a lot!! Very well done, I will give a FP for it!

In town off cruise ship Sea Princess from OZ. Our second time caching in Devonport.
We arrived at GZ on Segways with Pod the segway hire operator. We let her search for it as we had already spotted the hide. She was within centimetres of it before she realised what didn't belong. We all signed. After that we went and played in the park on the Segways. Thanks g-2

most enjoyable day with Chosen1978. enjoyed a wee walk to Gz and was such a quick find here.
On a day out caching along the coast with Butchie Bum, stunning weather and area, enjoyed caching along here, climbed the side of the hill and quickly spotted the cache and then realised there was a path leading down, but lots of fun anyway, great hide!
Getting dark by now, but there's a cache in here AND it is -was- the third volcano in the area. A pretty park with the cache at an interesting viewpoint, several people out enjoying the twilight. A rather unpleasant episode on our way out when a man had a large and nasty dog, not on a lead, and not under control. The rellies were impressed that we had found the reserve!
Gorgeous place. You can see the chimney of the house I'm trying to buy from the cache location. Great day for exploring!
What a nice little park in the middle of the housing area that one doesn't see from the road. Thanks for bringing us here to show it off. A cunning little hide, too.
#2570.
#12 in NZ.
This is a beautiful park, it is just a little unfortunate that the museum was closed. We also found ourselves on the "wrong" side of the cache so I decided the rock climb up to the cache. This is not advised if you do not have a little skill in this department. The cache was found after some searching due to the great camouflage! TFTC!
We learned from our mistake the previous day in trying to find a parking spot in this busy city. This time we parked our camper in a motor parked and jumped on a bus to the city. From there we caught the ferry to Devonport and spent the whole day in the lovely city, exploring it by foot.

A big thank you to all the geocache owners for being our “tour guides” in New Zealand while we are on our short holiday visit to this extraordinarily beautiful country! We traveled the North Island in our little camper van and we came across minimal damaged caches and we only had very few DNF’s.
"Groete" all the way from South Africa!

After Hubby's 2nd softball game I headed over to this side of town. Ak city council was having an open day, there were loads of families about. Thankfully they were busy having picnics and paid me no attention. TFTC
On our second try we found this very good camouflaged one. The park is realy nice. Thanks for hiding.
I was in all kinds of the wrong place with this one! Turns out there is a little seat 12m away (and ~15m below) the ACTUAL gz where you may be tricked into searching if you come from the wrong direction! Scaled the cliff-face to get to the real GZ, made the find (great camo), but not before dropping and cracking my phone. Dear oh dear, not my finest caching moments!! But a cool cache nonetheless TFTC
Out and about to find some geocaches in Devonport today. Great little area and nice craftsmanship on the container. TFTC
Another FFED blank crossed off - just 3 more. Not a quick find but chuckled when I saw it. Cleverly hidden in plain sight. The walls, stairs and planters really are amazing in this park. Me thinks convict labour may have been involved? And the planter at GZ bears a striking resemblance to the North Island. That's pretty playful. NINO TFTC
Out after work today for a spot of caching. Enjoyed a pleasant stroll to GZ on some old school style paths. Super quick find once at GZ. I was surprised to note that jandlefan had already visited today. Cheers for the cache placement!
Day 1 of Woody & Papa's awesome Mega Adventure. Woody hasn't turned up yet so Papa has decided to return to his old stomping ground having lived near the cache as a junior officer in the Navy. Starting to think like the CO which means didn't have to spend too much time searching. Nice camo. Salamat!
It was time to have a clean out of all the Devonport caches and today was the day selected. (Actually, yesterday was but it was lousy weatherwise.) So it had been a while the sister-in-law had been here so while she did "pink things" I went off and did "blue things".
This was the fourth for the day and a nice walk in this hidden park.
Cheers for the cache.

Finally found it. Had to take 6 others to help, but I found it. Stellar views!
This cache formed part of the KiwifruitNZ and Vamber "clean up Devonport of caches" mission.
We thought we had found the cache lying on the ground - but were proven to be incorrect, as two of our team were then heard to cry "There it is"!
Great cammo and a cunning hide!

We were out and about in Devonport again today to pick up some remaining caches with KiwifruitsNZ that we have not yet collected.
We were initially fooled by an object laying on the ground, but then two members of the team quickly spotted the cache. Neat hide! TFTC
