My favourite cache of the day! Not only did I discover a beautiful new walkway and spot some young trout, but I was fortunate enough to be here on a day the stadium was packed and blaring music. I enjoyed the is tremendously. Quick find of the camouflaged cache. TFTC
Nice tidy cache I remember finding some caches around a few moons ago nice area and very clear water in the streamthanks Squirrel..cache is all good
What to do on a Sunday. Come caching. A plan was hatched with nz flossy to come and clear some if the new caches as we havent been over here for a while. Many thanks to the COs for the placements.
We first went to do this multi a while ago, but it mysteriously disappeared. Funny enough while in the area recently we were talking about it, and then like magic it reappeared. We already had done the first part so was a quick and easy grab.
Woohoo! Nice to see this one back on the map again, close to where we frequent. We were going to solve this around Christmas only for it to disappear! Oh well, a good cache to finish the day off after work and meetings. Found with Kiwi Does! TFTC!
This was a great one as it got me out on the bike exploring the path. I enjoyed the journey! I "found" the cache or at least the container/spot without the log. I have contacted the owner and it will be replaced. Thanks, Ka pai
Got all the required info, luckily found a park nearby and went for a wander to find the cache. Found it at first hint item looked at. Tried to write on log, but very wet. Tftc
Got the required info & then headed off to grab the cache. Luckily no rugby on so we could park nearby. Spotted the giant at a distance & it turned out to be the right one. Nicely disguised. Tftc
My mate TBS came to the rescue once again.
Thinking this should be a quick find after work lead to illegally parking the car and ankles eaten alive by mozzies but this didn’t deter us.
Thinking at first the coordinates were wrong, I was about to PAF but decided to persist. Eventually found the cache which btw is very wet.
Will head out on Friday to replace.

Thanks for the cache. Wanted to get outside during lockdown and decided to go for this one. So many people out and about, quite hard to be stealthy but managed.
I am down in Rotorua for a few days, but today I was joined by two caching friends, Nufrat and AlunB. We came out early this morning to grab this one. Parking was an issues, so we parked past the stadium and hiked back. TFTC.
Last time I visited it was bucketing with rain so quickly aborted the mission. This time the weather is much nicer and there's the added pull of getting the last wonder of the world that I need.
The gardens that I've walked past have been impressive. I'm glad that I didn't bring my fly fishing rod as though there are many trout in the river, I did take note of the sign saying that it was a protected site for spawning so no fishing. Cache is wet so hoping my signature doesn't blur too much. Tftc.

So, I'd always avoided this cache because, well...it's a multi...and...it's golf...and, from the bridge at the published co-ordinates, it always looked pretty grotty. So I drove on by...But it was now starting to stick out like a sore thumb on my map, so it was time to clear it up. Boy, was I wrong! This stream walk is a hidden gem - crystal- clear water, lots of good sized fish (trout?) and a lovely walk. I didn't even notice the golfists. And a fun container at the end. TFTC & FP.
Last cache for 2019, nice evening stroll to hunt out this one. Very nicely hidden, could use a new bag for log sheet as current one no longer seals.
In Rotorua with Merlot58 for Easter. While Mrjag checked the stream for trout Mrsjag and Merlot found the required information and carried out the necessary calculations. Lovely walk to gz where the lonely cache was soon located
In Rotorua for Easter with Jag50 with the aim to put a smiley face on as many caches as we can. A nice straightforward multi and we were rewarded with a quick find. Surprised it hasn’t been found for over a year. Nice walk too!
a quick and easy multi, my favourite type, no parking nearby today but that never stops me, tftc
Mum and I set a challenge of finding a cache everyday this month we were short on time today so we didn't walk the 26km but we did park close and complete the cache this afternoon and even managed to dodge the rain. TFTC!
Working hard to have no dot days for February... and today almost conspired against me... between work, doctor appointment and getting home to look after the grandbaby there wasn't much time for geocaching but luckily we spotted this one on the map. Certainly looked 'doable' from the description so off we set... to be honest the most challenging part was finding somewhere suitable to park... excellent hint had us finding the cache fairly quickly and thankfully it was just wet enough outside to keep most of the muggles away. TFTC
I'm travelling around NZ for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Today it was raining here in Rotorua, so I took the opportunaty to be inside doing some geocaching-logging and planning the next step of my travel. Yesterday I completed my goal of getting 10 consecutive days of multi-finds, and now I don't feel like giving up, so I will try to see how far I can go. I tried to go out 3 times today, but everytime the clouds became very dark, and it started to pour down. Just before it got dark, it looked a bit better, so I went for this one. It took a while before I could find a nice parking, and I walked to the bridge. It was a beautiful trail, and the water in the river was soo clear! The calculations were quickly done, also nice with the checksum, so I knew I did it correct. The cache was quickly found, without any bushbashing. Nice container. This was day 11 of my multi-streak. Tftc, greetings from Norway
Yep hired bikes and were on an adventure
rustynz says its time I logged my Rotorua finds
Just a little behind. Sorry for the generic log. Thanks to all the CO for their hides and maintaining them.

Caching with rebel98, had to stop and do this little multi - the maths worked first time, and off we went to GZ. Spotted the hint item straight away, and we soon had the cache. Very clever camo
Whilst the container and bag for the log was filled with water, after drying the waterproof paper, I soon was signing the log. Thanks for the multi and this hide!

After a first to find around the corner I thought I would stroll round to do this one. A nice simple multi to do. Arrive at GZ to make a quick find of a nicely camo cache. Never done this walkway before must make a plan of doing the full length of it. Tftc
what a nice wee hide and a nice day to pick up somemore cachers tftc found with abcdf4
This one has always been on my radar so was very happy to finish it today. Great multi and a most enjoyable walk. TFTC
Today, It being a non-shopping day, along with the fact that we were meant to be 200kms away out East Cape (but weren't due to the weather at the end of last week), we spent the day collecting a few caches around Rotorua to see a bit of different countryside and make the most of the fine weather that had come out to play.
Setting off from home at 6.30am (nice early start with the good wife) and a quiet drive over here. So it was a concentration on caches we could get to, that weren't roped off as the lake level was too high, and only involved a short walk, as didn't want to leave "wifey" with the car too long as she might leave without me and say "Bugger You" and the caches.
Managed to grab 27 of 27 today which was more than happy as it has left enough to come back to in the future. This was the eighth of the day and a nice quick find following some breakfast at the "Fat Dog". Well set out cache and managed to grab and begin to walk away as a pair of dog walkers rounded the corner. Nice little multi.
Although did get myself in the poo by offering to stop for antiques at Tirau on the way back [^], but then informed that as its Easter Sunday all shops are closed and that is the only reason I would offer to stop for a shop, as if
Thanks for the placement and bringing me to this location

Took a walk with georunnermatt and found this one. It was fascinating to see how high the stream got! Nice little walk Tftc!
Found on an evening walk with livee_nz. No problems finding the number on the bridge and then finding the cache. Amazing to see how high the water level of the stream got last week! TFTC
After a few days in Rotorua, my wife and I are headed south this morning. But first I wanted to find a few more caches here. I did the calculations and made my way to GZ, where I was able to make the find. Nicely done! Signed the log. TFTC!
A quick calculation and a short walk and we had this one.
So far seen on this trip: Thailand and New Zealand.

Thanks for placing a geocache here and sorry that I keep my logs short.
Thanks for placing a geocache here and sorry that I keep my logs short.
Having no pre-set plans for today I figured why not head out and pick up a few more caches I need for other pesky challenges. This cache turned out to be prefect for the amount of time I had left to return to Tauranga. Don't ask me how but somewhere during the maths part I made a mistake - but after some re-working I soon had some coords that matched one of the photos a previous finder had up loaded. The bag was too big of the container and the log sheet was stuffed so I replaced both and this one is all ready for the next cacher. Cheers squirrel nutcase TFTC

Had some business in Rotorua this afternoon and once that was finished decided I'd grab a few caches in and around town, with a bit of a focus on a few particular caches a bit further out from central, before heading back to Hamilton via Tokoroa. Managed to find all bar one that I attempted, getting home about 10pm and finding about a dozen caches.
Was a bit confused initially as I started this multi, as all I could see was grafitti and no numbers. But after a few moments I realised I wasn't at the starting coordinates, and once there they were quickly spotted. Enjoyed the walk to GZ, and even saw a few trout along the way. Thanks for the nice simple multi.
Find #4 for the evening.

found the info a few weeks back, back this way today and made the quick find
We snuck away for an afternoon of caching in Rotorua targeting some specific caches towards a challenge and this one was on the list. Spotted the required info and after some maths we soon had the log in our hands TFTC.

A very enjoyable walk from the parking to the bridge, then off to GZ for a quick find. Plenty of people on the fairway this afternoon, but none of them were fishing. FTFC
This gave my slightly overweight little Jack Russell and I a good reason to get out of the house. Lovely scenery, little yappy loved the trail. Enjoyed the hide too. Not where I was expecting it to be. Thanks for the cache!
The weather was not grand today, but at least there was no rain while we were searching for this cache. A nice hide but, it really needs a new dry log sheet.
Yes, I love puzzle caches but I seemed to be jinxed when it comes to multis which means I tend to avoid them. This year, however, I've set myself a personal challenge of finally reaching 100 multi finds, coz surely I must get better with practice?! A day off mid-week & decided to head to Rotorua for a spot of caching with this multi and several others around town in my sights today.
Arrived at GZ, collected the required info, checksum agreed, and off to the final location. A lovely walk, checked out the hint, &, guess what, there was the cache. Yeeha - another multi successfully completed!! Phew. Thanks for showing me this spot & thanks for a multi that even I can manage, TFTC

I had delayed going after this one, even though close to home, as after reading description I thought it would take me much further than it actually did, prob only 2km in the end. Did it in 3 stages - one to get bridge number, then scratchy kids meant I had to head home. Second to find cache - easy with clue, third time to bring a pencil - oops! Log is damp but still in good order. Tftc.
Thanks for this, log and note were quite damp and looked to be stuffed in. I folded and rolled back in tidy. May want to dry overnight though in hot water cupboard.
Nice little wander down the stream, parked at the stadium, only took around 15-20 min. Last one for today, as the rain begins.

This multi has been changed to make it less reliant on clues that have gone missing. Instead, find a two-digit number and use maths skills to calculate the final coordinates. This area is beautiful in any season and deserves a visit. Thank you to those who have already stopped by and persisted with this multi. I hope the changes will make this a little easier for future visitors.
Unable to complete the co-ords as the sign is missing off the post by the bridge.
There has been some changes around the clues here and I need to get in and update these. My apologies to anyone for the inconvenience. This is a neat area and I want this cache to be around for a while longer yet. Please bear with me. Thanks.
Quick trip to Rotorua. Specially chose this cache for an August souvenir. But our hopes plummeted when we spotted the missing sign! Struggled on and using a sign on the other side of the road we were able to complete the South co-ords and part of the East co-ords, the last two numbers were missing. Letterbox was a guess as it didn't fit the description either. The stream looked familiar as we had successfully tracked a cache down along here on another trip. Decided to give it a go. We took a walk and our hunch paid off, matched up the South co-ord and found a likely hint item. The spot seemed perfect and sure enough, there it was. We were so thrilled as we almost gave up any hope after reading the last log entry. TFTC and our August souvenir.
P.S. A favourite point for the challenge and we spotted several big trout in the stream too!

At the first way point found most of them but was looking for AGES for this one sign that didn't seem to be there. We doubled checked the coordinates and everything. Then we saw that by the side of the bridge was a sign post that we had already looked at and underneath that sign was what looked like the remains of a sign or a laminated sheet/sign that was nailed there. It might not have been the right sign but we think it was it must have been taken down or wrecked by weather. Could you please check if that was the remains of the sign that we needed, if soo PLEASE try print a new one because we would LOVE to find this cache! Thanks.
Nice multi, was about to walk away defeated then re-read the clue and went back and put my hand right on it.

Scenic little multi - had to re count the steps to get the right co-ordinates, but other than that, no problems. Thanks
We loved the walk beside the stream, it was quite something. Favourite point from us. t4tc
Early evening find, had got the required info when coming back through Rotorua in January but ran out of time to complete the paperwork. Nice to finally get a reward, TFTC, #5502
11.15am - Parked at entrance of stadium. As the fishing season is closed no body around but plenty of fish in the stream, no golfers around either. Found cache, perhaps we will need to come back in a hundred years to check on this giant. SLTFTC
The nice looking 'Letterbox' that was used as part of the waypoint clue has been removed. I think the house was sold and the former householders took their letterbox. I drove past and yes, the new one is boring. The new owners had scratched the numbers on.
At the moment, the cache can be found. However, if there is an issue, please let me know. Thanks.

No problems finding the answers though the letter box is a boring one now. A nice walk along the stream to GZ and a quick find. TFTC!
plenty of fish in the stream today, good simple multi in a nice location, good camo at the final gz
Been in town all afternoon for a bit of shopping (days off are great but can be expensive!). Was waiting on someone to see if we would go out for dinner, so took the time to find a cache. It's been about a month since my last find... Grabbed this one as the sun was setting. Saw trout in the stream and knew where the hide would be from about 20m out without using the hint. Thanks for the short walk.
11818... Great spot for a cache, enjoyed our riverside walk to GZ... Yep, it's going to be a giant one day..... and we don't mean the Fishing, TFTC.
Up here from Palmerston North to relay a deck for my mum and suffering through the "oh - while you're here"s. Sneaking out one a day before dawn to work on my dot days, hopefully tomorrow I can do a proper caching run. So set off today before dawn, frost on the ground. Using the backlight from my phone to write the numbers in my notebook. The pretty letterbox alas isn't, they have a temprary wooden crate up. But the number was scratched in (took a bit of finding in the dark!) so it's all good. And the steps confused me - I was expecting a single digit - would have made the cache a very long way away! Got to the cache and thought "oh no, its in the trees. I should have brought a torch" but luckily there was an obvious spot, so I found it in the first place I looked.
I love these stream walks - nice clear water winding through a little nature reserve. Can't wait for the council to get the farmers to clean up their act to get a nice clear Manawatu River again.
And I have trackables burning a hole in my pocket, but no room here.

Thanks Squirrel Nutcase I had half an hour spare before getting the kids from school so this fill in the time perfectly . This was my eighth find today as I had the day of work.
I will be Logging this as part of 12-12-12 A Challenge?(Rotorua) (GC42CNY) this is the number 9 on my list of 12 caches.

Rotorua sure does have some beautiful clear streams and this is one of them that the cache highlights really well. A most enjoyable stroll.
Many thanks

Remind me to keep a GPS in the truck ! Couldnt drive by on way home from taupo without a look
Headed out to pick up a few caches this morning. Enjoyed this multi along a lovely walkway. Thanks for the clear and details instructions. Love the camo container.
Great multi and lovely walk beside the stream - wasn't sure about my counting skills but once done I realised I must have it right TFTC
Ahh, starting near where my muggled multi did, such a great place, glad another cache is here! TFTC
I actually found this cache about a week ago but i just remembered that i didn't log it

What to do after driving all around the South Island for two weeks, crossing over the cook strait at 1.30am and driving up all day from Wellington ... oh I don't know, maybe we should collect the latest Rotorua listings!! Good thinking.
Thankfully it was a cool stroll from the first waypoint to the final cache, no need to worry about the one that got away, we had the cache in hand in no time, it could almost be considered a hole in one! TFTMC

#3601. As we were about to set off for the walk, a couple of nearby workmen asked if we were going fishing. "Good fishing upstream, you know", they said. "Ah, we think we'll walk downstream a bit", we replied. "There's fishing downstream too ... but ha ha, there is no competition upstream", they suggested ... and then they laughed and pointed to the sign that said fishing is permanently closed south (upstream) of the bridge! We duly went downstream and encountered a couple of local children happily holding a freshly caught rainbow trout in their hands. The fathers were still spotting for theirs, saying "Fish and chips for the kids, but looking like just McDonalds for us tonight."
Didn't see any golf balls hitting the river though.
Thoroughly enjoyable walk. TNLNSL. TFTC.

Hey, woof... JC Cache Dawg here...
I'm loading all my finds from my Alpha Males (aka GenCuster) logs, where he deigned to remember that I was with him... As if he could forget...20:30 I enjoyed the walk as GC rambled about (his youth).

Another FTF of the squirrels. My boys are loving these walks to a find. Another good place to park is in Brook Place especially if you take the young ones. Walk down the road and under the bridge thus not having to cross the road if busy. TFTF.
Couldn't believe that this one was still unfound this morning so thought we would have a go. Naturally had to wait for the District Nurse first, then have breakfast, then in town had a few things to do, and by the time we got to GZ, damn it, we'd been beaten by Ripplenook. Well done to Ripplenook on their FTF.
Note to self: when going for an FTF, do the shopping afterwards. STAY FOCUSED.
PS: Loved the camo'd cache. Good one Squirrel Nutcase. We have just about finished the walk thanks to you.
Loved this bit especially. Cool, quiet and the beautiful Utahina. Fabulous tree at GZ, how long until ours is that big. [?] This gets a fave from us.

20:30 Well that was kinda weird. From the confab yesterday at A Hollow Man, I'd thought that this had been found already. If I'd realised, I would've done a night cache that night. As it is, 3TF the next evening after I drove 20 odd km South last night for a picnic cache. The Rotorua FTF crew are off the ball I thought - no wait! One's the CO!!!
JC Cache Dawg & I enjoyed the walk, again very familiar territory in my youth. I've been thinking for simply ages about placing a cache very close the the GZ of this one called 'I lost it here, somewhere' but that's neither a fishing nor a golfing story. True though... Never to be found again... Cheers, GC.
